Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409 (253) 475-7300 On [XXX], odometer 51,582 Tacoma Dodge verified transmission oil leak, transmission service done to replace oil and reseal leaking pan. A test drive showed additional leak at upper transmission pan and that was resealed and passed 2nd test drive showing no leaks. I was charged $256.70 for a "transmission service", normally part of scheduled maintenance at 60,000 miles, and not associated with leaks. I believe I should not be charged for this since the leakage was seen after only (about) 10,000 miles after the transmission serviced for the recall. There are known issues with the RTV sealant used leaking if not not installed correctly. I am also concerned if the Safety Recall 61A was implemented properly. Not clear how to verify that. I was using FSD the whole time without any issues. As I approached an intersection, I wanted to go straight, but the FSD intended to make a right turn, so I switched to manual mode. After driving halfway through the intersection, I switched back to FSD, and the car suddenly made a sharp right turn, crashing directly into the traffic light.

On long road trip from TX to MA Started before dawn and route initially [XXX] . With sunrise route was into sun and so I used my sun glasses. Within a few minutes a warning gong and light on instrument panel litup. I did not know what the cause was and then unannounced the Adaptive cruise control lane holding and steering shut off and the vehicle seemed to brake quite vigorously. There were a f
... ew cars behind me and due to my vehicle suddenly slowing down they had to brake unexpectedly. They then honked at me and passed quite aggressively and gesturing their displeasure with me. I called hyundai tech support they where of no help. I asked for a manager - who called back and I was told it is because I used my sun glasses! I was told it would always happen if sunglasses where used and I could not cancel this feature without disabiling the "safety" features that i considered when purchasing the vehicle on 24th [XXX]. I was told I should not use polarized glasses which my pair Is Not in any event. I requested to speak to a more senior rep and the next day received call from a hyundai rep who stated there was nothing I could to over come this nuisance feature and if I didnt like it I should not have bought the car. I stated I did not know this could or would happen ! In addition every 5 to 10 minutes a warning gong, light and speech notice keeps on popping up and states "I need a rest". In my opinion too, It is also a safety issue as it is a nuisance and consistant and at inopportune times blocking gps commands some times etc. These features, in my opnion, are too frequent too persistant and not helpful. There should be a way for the owner-drver too disable the announcements but have the benefit of the features ie Adaptive Cruise Lane and Steering etc without the car deciding not to allow because sunglasses are needed. That does not enhance safety in my opinion. In my opinion the way it is programmed it is a safety hazard Just suddenly slowing down INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMARead more

The radiator cooling fan on 2018- 2020 Nissan Rogue Sports has failed and does not turn on, which causes the vehicle to overheat and the air conditioning system to stop functioning properly. This problem creates a significant safety risk, as the vehicle can quickly overheat when idling or driving in traffic, potentially leading to engine damage, vehicle breakdowns in unsafe locations, or even fire
... hazards due to overheating. The issue has been widely reported by many Nissan Rogue owners, and I have confirmed through online forums and news reports that there is an active class action lawsuit related to defective cooling fans in Nissan Rogue models. The cost of replacing the cooling fan is significant, often over $1,000, and there are widespread reports of shortages in replacement fan assemblies, making it difficult to repair the vehicle in a timely manner.Read more

On [XXX], while driving on the freeway, my 2020 Hyundai Palisade suddenly malfunctioned and went up in flames without warning. My young son was in the vehicle with me. Within moments, smoke and fire spread rapidly, forcing us to stop in traffic and escape before the fire fully engulfed the car. The entire vehicle became a total loss. This was a terrifying, life-threatening situation. My safety an
... d my son’s safety were at extreme risk. If my other family members had been in the car, the outcome could have been catastrophic. The emotional trauma from this event is significant and continues to affect us. The incident was reported to the San Antonio Fire Department, who responded to the scene and documented the fire. Their reports confirm the vehicle fire: Incident Report #[XXX] and SAFD Case #[XXX]. After researching, I discovered that similar fires have been reported in Hyundai vehicles, raising concerns that this is part of a wider safety defect. Families should not have to fear their vehicle spontaneously igniting on the road. At the time of the fire, there were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms that suggested the vehicle was unsafe. The failure happened suddenly and without warning. The vehicle has not been inspected by Hyundai at this time, but it is available for inspection upon request. I am urging a full investigation into Hyundai’s design and safety practices, as this fire placed lives in immediate danger. This was not just a mechanical failure—it was a potentially fatal event that could have resulted in severe injury or loss of life.Read more

Premature failure of wheel bearings. Both rear wheel bearings had to be replaced after only 54,192 miles. Technician indicated that replacements were upgraded "sealed" systems. At 73,712 miles the front driver's side wheel bearing was also replaced by the dealer after the same symptoms of excessive noise and poor mileage occurred. Concern is that high resistance in the failing bearings creates
... a lot of heat and could eventually cause catastrophic failure. In 40+ years of driving and owning cars with mileage accruals up to 229,000, this is the only one that ever required a wheel bearing replacement. This, and the technician's reference to upgraded bearings makes me believe that this is a manufacturing defect that should have been covered by a recall.Read more

Around the 38,000 mile mark on our 2020 Ford Escape we received many different errors (AWD Fault, ABS, AdvanceTrac Service, Hill assist, etc). I found out via NHTSA and other forums that this is a common issue in the vehicle from the AWD module, and although it is AWD related, it is not eligible for the Powertrain warranty per Ford because it is an electrical component. I declined the $1200 repair
... at the dealership so I could first call Ford Customer Service, at the recommendation of the dealership, though the Service Tech did mention it is a safety concern because the ABS is apparently also controlled by the AWD. After a couple different calls to Ford, they have refused to acknowledge that it is a manufacturer defect, or pay for the repair. With no help from Ford, I have no other option than to file a complaint here. Based on other resources online, the issue seems to stem from improper grounding of the wiring on the AWD module.Read more

The contact's son owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH and pulling into a parking lot, the vehicle felt like one of the front tires was not rotating. The contact was able to pull into a parking space. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the driver's side front tire was not rotating. The contact and a bystander noticed that the driver's side front tir

The contact's husband arrived at the scene, removed the tire, and zip tied the caliper to the frame, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the brake pads, rotors, and the calipers were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front brake lines had rusted internally, causing the brake lines to collapse. The dealer informed the contact that the failure prevented the brake fluid to reach the brakes, which remained close to the rotors and had burned out. The dealer determined that the front driver's side brake line, rotors, calipers, and the brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,100.Read more

While driving my 2019 Range Rover Evoque on the highway on [XXX], the headliner on my vehicle just suddenly collapsed, hitting me in the head while driving and blocking my view of my rear windshield and rear view mirror and startling me almost causing a serious accident at 70 miles per hour. Something like this should not happen on a car that is just a few years old and has less than 30k miles on
... it. The adhesive in the headliner just simply failed and the whole thing collapsed. I called my Land Rover Dealership and they just stated that the warranty expired 2 years ago and nothing they can do. So then I called Land Rover corporate at 1800-637-6837 option 9 and they told me they can't help either unless I take it to dealership and spend $300 to get a diagnostic report from them. Then they may or may not assist me. I brought to their attention that the model year 2020 Range Rover Evoque has 2 current recalls for the same issue, Failing headliner and headliner built missing materials and since the body on the 2019 and 2020 are exactly the same the recall should cover this as well, but they refuse and say it goes by year and VIN and 2019 is not covered under the recall. The recalls in mention are: Recall N412 (19V-840) and Recall N454. These need to be expanded to cover 2019 or a new recall needs to be added, because the issue of a suddenly collapsing headliner while driving is a serious and potentially fatal matter. Engine failure; according to GM Mechanics, the lifters failed and this resulted in a broken push rod. Vehicle is now waiting for a new engine; $8,882.00 out of pocket from owner, because current recall does not include the 2019 or 2020; only the 2021 and newer of the same enginee, with the same exact failures. The front traction motor on my 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning failed without warning, causing the vehicle to lose all-wheel drive capability. The failure occurred with no warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms on the dashb

The component/system is still available for inspection. At this time, the issue has NOT been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer, and the vehicle has NOT yet been inspected by the manufacturer or any other party. Cause of failure is UNKNOWN. This lack of a warning or alert to the driver represents a major safety hazard because it changes how the vehicle handles without the driver’s knowledge.Read more

I own a 2020 Kia Forte LXS with approximately 136,000 miles. The check engine light came on with code P0420 (“catalyst system efficiency below threshold”), and an Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers location confirmed the catalytic converter is failing. The back pressure was measured and is within spec but slightly elevated, showing the part is deteriorating. I was also told my O2 sensors are
... burned due to the failing catalytic converter. This failure affects drivability and safety: the vehicle sometimes struggles on acceleration and hills, and I feel vibrations through the gas pedal. Because I commute 50 miles each way to work on the interstate, sudden loss of power would put me at risk in high-speed traffic. I have learned Kia and Hyundai vehicles from other years/models (including the Forte) have had recalls and extended warranties for premature catalytic converter failure and excessive oil consumption, but Kia has not yet extended coverage to the 2020 Forte. This appears to be the same issue. The vehicle has been inspected by Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers, and the quoted cost for replacement is $3,000–$3,600. This should be investigated for potential recall or warranty extension to include the 2020 model year.Read more

The transmission KICKS into 2nd gear at times and it feels like I've been rear ended. Also sometimes when that happens the car will accelerate on it's own, I am surprised that I haven't hit anything or anybody when that happens. And other times it will cut out altogether and loses power. This is definitely a safety issue. I can't understand why Chrysler will not do anything about this issue. It ca

1. "Transmission or ECU" 2. There is a lag and sometimes almost stall when accelerating from a stop. I was turning into a lane from a stop sign and the car decided to not move for 3-4 seconds after pressing accelerator. If people had come around the blind corner when that happened I would have been T boned. 3. All four people living in my house...... and our mechanic. Yes 4.No, because were not
