On July 5th 2025 round 5:15 pm EST, while driving in the center lane of the highway at approximately 73 mph, the check engine light and multiple amber warning lights suddenly turned on. This occurred at just 1,920 miles on a brand-new vehicle. At the time of the incident, the vehicle stopped responding to the accelerator and would not move forward. Fortunately, traffic was light, and I was able t
... o steer safely to the shoulder. However, I was traveling with my family, and under heavier traffic conditions or with vehicles closely following, this sudden loss of power could easily have resulted in a serious multi-vehicle accident. Following the above incident, I brought my vehicle to the Kia dealership for a diagnostic check. However, they did not take any corrective action, stating that the check engine light was not currently illuminated—even though I provided photo evidence and the fault code P069811 captured from the Kia app. This raises serious concerns, as I cannot predict when the issue might occur again. According to multiple reports on Kia forums and blogs, many owners of new vehicles have experienced the same problem, yet Kia has not addressed it. This is a serious, life-threatening safety issue while driving, and this trim should be publicly acknowledged as having low reliability and safety concerns until a resolution is found.Read more

For new model year 20 20, and 2021 Ford developed an all-wheel-drive vehicle. This is not a four-wheel-drive vehicle. It is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that you can select manually into four-wheel-drive, but it has an automatic system that engages and disengages the front drive axle through a comp component called an FADA. Front axle disconnect actuator. Ford has problems with that actuator going
... bad to the point that they put out a technical service bulletin to fix this unsafe design TSB 23-2174 dated 24 July 2023. They replace the drive axle and this component and make the car full time all wheel drive. The reason was because the actuator would fail and it would damage the front differential when it locked up on the highway. My car is in Service right now getting it replaced over $3000 and it just clicked past the drivetrain warranty. Now, unfortunately, the car is redesigned into something that it wasn’t meant to be. For highway speeds it now affects fuel economy and design is different from what they sold us. It is unsafe and it is like a ticking time bomb they they’re exploding on the highway. Shocks were covered under warranty; failure to act while coverage was active left me unprotected. In May 2023, the engine failed due to oil loss and lock-up. Hyundai retained my vehicle from 5/15–6/30/23 for engine replacement. From Aug–Sep 2025, the car was held an additional 24 days, with no permanent fix for the electrical defect. Control screen keeps going randomly blank, for different periods of time, putting the driver at risk, because the vehicle information, including speed, lights, wipers, basically everything is displayed in this screen. Sometimes the sentence NO SIGNAL shows up. I had experienced several scary situations, specially in freeways when raining, you have zero driving information. The car has been to the
... dealership service 4 times, with different tentatives of repair, none of which worked. The last time my car was at the dealership service for 25 days and after 2 days the problem was back, even worse. Sometimes all the lights of the control screen light up, with no reason and keep on even after the car is turned off. This is our only car and we need it, but the car is absolutely unsafe and unreliable. I refuse to leave the car for a 5th time, Hyundai has no idea what the issue is and obviously cannot fix it. The lane assist is also malfunctioning, sometimes the warning system doesn’t work properly. Twice the car emergency brakes stopped the car abruptly without a reason to do so (no risk of collision, no car or object in front ). One of those times the car behind me almost hit me, because the stop was abrupt and for no reason. I have many videos and pictures, but apparently I cannot upload the videos in this form. I have the paperwork, but Hyundai refused to refund for the vehicle. I highly recommend an investigation, Hyundai is getting away with a very serious problem and someone will get hurt as a result of these issues. Thank you for the attention.Read more

NHTSA Complaint – 2017 Hyundai Tucson Oil Consumption, Engine Defect, and Branded Title I am filing this complaint regarding my 2017 Hyundai Tucson, which suffers from abnormal oil consumption and engine problems. In addition, Hyundai Motor Company internally “branded” the title without disclosure, which voided my eligibility for warranty coverage. These issues create both serious safety ri
... sks and consumer protection concerns. 1.Oil Consumption and Engine Issues •This Tucson has had oil consumption problems since the first owner, which I only discovered a year after purchasing the vehicle. •The vehicle burns oil excessively between service intervals, often requiring top-offs after just a few hundred miles. •Critically, the low oil pressure warning light provides no early warning. It only activates once oil levels are already dangerously low, leaving no safe margin to protect the engine. •On multiple occasions, I was unaware the engine oil had dropped to unsafe levels until the vehicle was already at risk of engine damage. •The engine makes knocking/tapping noises, hesitates under acceleration, and has rough idling when oil levels drop — all signs of internal engine damage that could lead to sudden failure while driving. 2.Hyundai’s Branded Title Practice •Roughly one year after purchasing from CarMax, I learned that Hyundai had internally branded the title in their own system due to oil consumption reported by the first owner. •This branding was never disclosed to me or to CarMax, and the official state-issued title and Carfax report both showed “clean.” •Hyundai uses this internal branding to void the extended engine warranty that should have applied to my vehicle. •Despite repeated requests, Hyundai has refused to provide documentation of when or why this branding occurred. 3.Warranty and Safety Concerns •Hyundai has issued Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and extended warranties for engine failures caused by piston rings and bearingsRead more

While driving slowly through a shopping mall parking lot with my wife and [XXX] son onboard, the vehicle suddenly malfunctioned. The central locking system cycled repeatedly, and a warning briefly appeared mentioning a steering/light malfunction. Immediately afterward, the emergency release cables for all four doors deployed externally as if the car had been in a crash, even though no collision o
... ccurred. At the Audi dealership (Audi Sugar Land, TX), technicians confirmed by diagnostic scan that: The ABS control module stored a fault for “invalid data.” That invalid data was relayed to the airbag module, which falsely triggered a “crash response active” condition. All four door modules stored crash response faults and deployed the emergency release cables. The issue was confirmed, faults were cleared, but no parts were replaced. This false crash response put my family at risk because it activated emergency safety mechanisms without cause. My concern is that if invalid data can trigger a false crash event, it could also trigger other systems, such as airbags, leading to potential injury. The incident occurred with approximately 1,100 miles on the vehicle, one week after purchase, and immediately following the first 100% charge. The dealer documented the event and consulted Audi Technical Assistance, who authorized release of the vehicle after clearing the codes. This is a serious safety defect because critical systems activated without a real crash, creating unnecessary risk for occupants. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
