The vehicle part ML3Z-16500A18-E, or rear panoramic sunroof panel, spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was parked and turned off. I was not driving, and nothing impacted the vehicle. There were no signs of attempted break-in, falling debris, or vandalism, and there was no object inside or around the vehicle that could have caused the breakage. With this being tempered glass, it fragmented vi
... olently. This sudden failure created a significant safety hazard, as shattered glass covered the interior. If occupants had been inside, this could have caused serious injury from falling glass. If this unexpected failure occurred while the vehicle was in motion or at speed, it could result in distraction, loss of control, and/or a potential collision. The dealer had inspected the vehicle in person and was unable to determine the reason for the failure. The manufacturer has been contacted, but they do not accept responsibility and have not provided a cause for the failure. The issue has not been reproduced, but spontaneous panoramic sunroof glass failure appears to be a known concern on other Ford models. The vehicle had no warning messages, noises, cracking, leaks, or other symptoms prior to the failure. There were no safety alerts or warnings on the dash. The sunroof glass failed without any prior indication.Read more

On Sept 14 2025 we were driving our Promaster and heard a knocking sound then the vehicle immediately overheated. We had the car towed to a dealership and we were informed we needed a new engine as the fan module had failed causing the vehicle to overheat and ruining the engine. The extended warranty company also denied the claim citing that the fan module had failed. We purchased the vehicle on S
... ept 10th 2025. The prior owner had several repairs completed to the cooling system in the months prior to us purchasing the vehicle which included replacing the radiator, cylinder heads and gaskets as well as many other components. Per the dealership, there was a code that stated an overheating indicator showed approx 1000 miles prior to us bringing the vehicle in. The prior owner states that this indicator light never came on and it never came on for us either. When searching the recall database, our particular VIN does not appear to be included in the current recall, however the part number in question on the recall matches the part number the dealer is citing as the underlying issue which caused the engine failure and for the extended warranty to not cover the replacement. As for safety, the failure happened on a very busy highway requiring us to sit on the side of the road for several hours until we could get a tow company. The vehicle is currently at the dealer and they have plenty of documentation / photos of the damage and failed parts. No insurance company or police have been involved.Read more

On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2025, about 3:50pm EST, I was driving East on Hwy 25, 5 miles west of near Knox Central High School, heading towards Barbourville, Ky. I was coming from Kingsport, Tn heading to Corbin, Ky to take my mother to her cancer doctors in Lexington on Monday, the 3rd. I was driving 55 mph, in the left lane, the weather was foggy, gray, temp 45 degrees. It was 62 when I left home
... . I had just turned on both my defrosters because the windows were fogging up. At this time my rear window made an extremely loud pop and exploded! The glass went into the back area of my car. Shards were all around the opening. I was terrified and pulled off the road to the right. I got out and was shocked to see the damage! I took photos and a video. Called my husband, my mom and the Ky State Police to ask what to do. They said to drive on to my mom's house, back it into her open garage, cover it with plastic, and then drive her to the dr early Monday in her car, so I did. Sunday pm: I looked up online what to do and found varying answers, but mainly it said to make detailed notes of the incident (I did), contact the manufacturer (found zero way to contact NISSAN!), and report it to the NTFSA online (they are closed due to the government shutdown). Another place said to call my dealer if still under warranty, call my car insurance if it's not. It was too late by then, went to bed to try Monday. Monday: Mom and I were busy with her tests and dr appts until 5:30, got some food, headed home. Got back, looked up how can a car rear window shatter while driving. It gave a few reasons, and then a list of about 5 known cars this happens to, and my Rogue is one of them! That's why I'm supposed to report it, I suppose. It is certainly dangerous, scary and shocking when it happens! Started filling out this report, here we are. Tuesday: 1st I will call my car dealer. It IS still under warranty. Thank God! I was completely shaken up for a good hour b4 I could drive.Read more

I am reporting a chronic and dangerous defect in my 2020 Nissan Versa that results in an unpredictable, sudden, and complete loss of acceleration (motive power) while driving. This defect has been present since shortly after purchase and remains unresolved, posing a severe safety risk on public roads. Specific Safety Incident Details: Symptoms: The failure begins with the illumination of the Mal
... function Indicator Lamp (Check Engine Light), simultaneously accompanied by dashboard messages like "Malfunction See Owner’s Manual" and "Key System Error." The Critical Safety Hazard (Loss of Power): Immediately following the dash warning, the vehicle experiences a major, sudden loss of acceleration. This is not a gradual deceleration—the throttle becomes unresponsive, and the vehicle will not accelerate for approximately 4 to 5 seconds. Driving Conditions: This failure occurs randomly, including during critical maneuvers such as accelerating from a stop, merging into traffic, or attempting to accelerate on a highway. Consequence: When the vehicle unexpectedly fails to accelerate (especially in high-speed or high-traffic situations), it creates a high risk of being struck from behind or being unable to clear an intersection or merging lane safely. Initial Report (In-Warranty): The problem was first reported on March 31, 2021 (Mileage 25,404) to Central Houston Nissan (Invoice # NICS309560) and again on July 29, 2021 (Mileage 32,229) to Sterling McCall Nissan (Invoice # 2373806). Engineering Investigation: On both occasions, the dealerships specifically noted that the issue (DTC P0101 and associated warnings/power loss) was "under investigation under Nissan Engineers." Technical Service Bulletin (TSB): Nissan has acknowledged this widespread issue by releasing TSB NTB21-049 (June 8, 2021), which addresses the "MIL ON WITH DTC P0101" for the 2020-2021 Versa model.Read more

My family’s safety is at serious risk with my 2021 Hyundai Tucson, which I’ve owned only 55 days. This vehicle has stalled three times while driving, putting me and my two young children in immediate danger. Each time, the car operated normally until a flashing engine light appeared, RPMs spiked, and the vehicle suddenly lost all power—entering “limp mode” and unable to exceed 3,000 RPM
... or 50 MPH. The first failure occurred 9/14/25 while merging onto the interstate, forcing me to lose power mid-acceleration as surrounding vehicles slammed their brakes to avoid collision. 13 days later, it happened again in stop-and-go traffic, leaving me stranded on the shoulder. Both incidents occurred without warning or prior check-engine lights. The third—and most terrifying—incident was on October 17, 2025, when the engine completely died 300 miles from home on a busy highway. My children, ages 4 and 6, were terrified as cars sped by. We were extremely fortunate not to have been hit. I am urgently requesting assistance for the immediate replacement of this vehicle’s engine. It is covered by Hyundai’s 15-year/150,000-mile extended warranty, clear evidence the company was aware of these issues. Service records from the previous owner-that I was told about by Hyundai show ongoing engine problems and recalls since 2022 further proof this vehicle should have been retired from service As a parent, I’m very alarmed that Hyundai refuses to act until “catastrophic damage” occurs. This policy is irresponsible and endangers entire families. There’s at least 50 NHTSA complaints describing identical issues; stalling, power loss, and bearing failure linked to defective connecting rod bearings. Yet, Hyundai has denied a replacement, insisting on waiting for further damage and failures in operation. I beg you to intervene and prioritize my family’s safety before tragedy inevitably strikes. My children should not be put at risk due to corporate negligence, greed and absence of accountability.Read more
