Component Affected: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM/ AIR BAGS: FRONT: PASSENGER SIDE Description of Safety Defect: The Passenger Presence System (PPS) Module / Occupant Sensor Module failed on my 2014 Cadillac ELR, triggering diagnostic code U0170 ("Lost Communication with Passenger Presence Module") And illuminating the "Service Airbag" warning light on the dashboard. Due to this electronic failure, the vehic
... les supplemental restraint system (STS) has completely disabled the front passenger-side airbag. In the event of a collision, the passenger airbag will not deploy, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard for any occupant in that seat. This error message appeared while in the dealerships possession for an unrelated issue. The dealership service technician confirmed the faulty module and stated they are not able to complete the repair due to discontinued parts. see attached. General motors (GM) has officially discontinued the vehicle-specific replacement parts (Part #23504892 & #23504893) required to fix this defect. Dealerships are turning owners away because the parts are entirely unavailable nationwide, and standard components from higher-volume GM models are incompatible with the low-production ELR seat configuration. This leaves owners with a permanently disabled safety system and no manufacturer-supported path to repair a critical restraint component. Because this is a widespread, identical failure among 2014 ELR vehicles that results in total airbag deactivation, a federal safety investigation and recall are required to force the manufacturer to produce a batch of functional safety components.Read more

1. The engine developed a coolant intrusion failure. A Ford repair shop diagnosed coolant leaking into the engine, consistent with the known 1.5L EcoBoost coolant intrusion issue. The vehicle and failed engine are available for inspection upon request. 2.The engine misfired and requires replacement due to internal coolant intrusion. An engine failure while driving could result in sudden loss of p

The problem was confirmed by a Ford dealer repair shop, which diagnosed coolant intrusion into the engine. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. 5. The check engine light illuminated with the cylinder 1 misfire code before the diagnosis. I initially took it to an independent repair shop and got the spark plugs replaced. Then a week and a half later the CEL turned on again with the same code. In response, the vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership, where the engine was diagnosed with coolant intrusion.Read more

My 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 1500 experienced a catastrophic powertrain failure that created a serious safety hazard. On XXX, while driving at highway speeds, the truck unexpectedly shifted into neutral, causing an immediate loss of propulsion. During this event, the electrical system was also affected. The battery power dropped, power steering assistance was lost, and due to the electronic
... push-button start system, the vehicle could not be restarted while in this condition. This placed me and surrounding motorists at significant risk of a crash. I initially brought the vehicle to Point GMC, where I was advised no issue was found. After the problem continued, I returned on XXX and a dealership technician rode with me. During the test drive on [XXX], the truck again shifted into neutral, confirming the defect. The vehicle was then towed to the dealership, where diagnostics revealed DTC P0016. I was informed the engine had seized and required a complete engine replacement. The engine was replaced by an authorized GMC dealership in New Jersey. After only about 2,000 miles, the check engine light returned and the vehicle began experiencing additional electrical issues. This is a Denali Ultimate, the highest trim level, with advanced electronic systems, making these recurring failures especially concerning. To date, the vehicle has been inspected by three authorized GMC dealerships, and I have opened multiple cases with GMC Corporate. Despite repeated repair attempts, the manufacturer has not provided a permanent resolution. I continue to experience recurring engine and electrical issues and no longer have confidence in the safety or reliability of this vehicle. Given the repeated failures, loss of propulsion, loss of steering assistance, inability to restart the vehicle, and lack of resolution after multiple dealership visits and an engine replacement, I believe this matter warrants investigation by NHTSA. The contact owned a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that six months after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally while driving, accelerating, and the vehicle was hesitating. During an oil change, the contact informed the mechanic about the excessive vibration while driving. The contact was notified of an undisclosed recall, but there was no remedy for the recall. The co
... ntact took the vehicle to a dealer, but the mechanics were unable to duplicate the failure. During another failure, the vehicle turned off independently while stopped at a red light. The vehicle restarted after three attempts. The vehicle was driven slowly back to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a second time, and an undisclosed pump was replaced. The contact stated that months later, the failure reoccurred, and the vehicle could not be restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the vehicle started smoking while it was stuck on the roadway. While the vehicle was completely stopped and disabled in the roadway, another vehicle rear-ended it. The air bags did not deploy. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.Read more

My mechanic said that he believes there is a recall on a recalled part this was previously repaired per Mercedes notice of safety recall dated April 2018. The recall remedy provided by the manufacturer has failed to permanently fix the safety defect, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive. "On certain Model Year (“MY”) 2014-2017 B-Class electric, MY 2012-2018 C-Class, MY 2012-2017 E-Class, MY
... 2014-2018 CLA, MY 2015-2018 GLA, MY 2016-2018 GLC, and MY 2013-2015 GLK-Class vehicles, an electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken steering column module clock spring and an insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. An inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a crash." Currently my airbag and horn do not work as a result of this defect and Mercedes said there is no current safety recalls, however this is the exact issue that was replaced and fixed before I purchased it. They want to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, (when my mechanic has already looked at it), I am not wanting to pay the dealership for an issue that is clearly related to the recall issue that was not properly fixed. My car is a safety issue to myself and anyone if I drive it, my horn does not work, so that makes it hard to prevent accidents and my airbag, upon reading further online, could potentially deploy and CAUSE and accident.Read more

However, instead of proceeding to a parking space, the vehicle unexpectedly continued driving and attempted to make another loop toward the gas station entrance. At that moment, an SUV was exiting the gas station. The Tesla steered toward the SUV and then continued toward a brick wall where there was no roadway. It appeared the vehicle was attempting to drive into an area that was not a valid path. I immediately disengaged Full Self-Driving, took manual control of the vehicle, and reversed to avoid what could have been a collision with both the SUV and the brick wall. The occupants of the other vehicles were understandably upset because the situation appeared unsafe. This was a very dangerous situation that placed my wife, our friends, and me at risk. Had I not intervened immediately, the incident could have resulted in a collision causing property damage or personal injury. The manufacturer Ford issued three urgent safety recalls in May/June 2026, including recall #26S48 for transmission parking system failure and recall #26S34 for front seatbelt failures. The official status from Ford is 'Remedy Not Yet Available' and I was notified that parts might not be available until late 2026 or 2027. This vehicle is my essential tool for rideshare work (Uber/Lyft). Due to fed

This has completely destroyed my family's financial livelihood. Furthermore, driving this vehicle puts my life, my passengers, and my 4 children at an imminent risk of death or catastrophic injury due to potential transmission failure while driving or seatbelt failure during an accident. The manufacturer and the dealer (Findlay Chevrolet) are failing to provide a remedy within a reasonable timeframe under federal warranty laws, leaving me with a $38,000 active debt for an un-driveable, dangerous asset. I am requesting an official investigation to force a manufacturer buyback.Read more

The dealer has had to repair many of these ground straps, they are exposed to the elements and come loose I was told. They had two other GMC trucks in the shop with the same issue that day. the ground strap is exposed to the elements do not understand why this would not be covered just like a battery lead to stop from corroding and have to clean it or replace it. The windshield of my 2026 Mazda CX-5 suddenly fractured and developed a severe crack without any external road hazard or heavy stone impact. Under micro-photography, the root of the crack presents as a smooth, continuous stress fracture ("white line") with no physical crater or concentric shattering pattern. The authorized Mazda dealer and Safelite AutoGlass provided entirely contradictory diagnos
... tic locations regarding the alleged "impact point," proving the source of the failure is highly ambiguous. On this vehicle, a standard, everyday micro-pit from normal road dust triggered a catastrophic structural fracture across the glass. This is a disproportionate failure indicating excessive internal manufacturing residual stress or structural pressure from the vehicle frame rather than owner wear-and-tear. Furthermore, this severe fracture directly obstructs the driver's forward vision and threatens the calibration and safety functionality of the i-Activesense forward-facing safety cameras mounted behind the rearview mirror, creating a sudden, severe driving safety hazard.Read more

I purchased a Gray Nissan Sentra SR brand new on [XXX] with 27 miles on the odometer. The Nissan dealership was located in California. On [XXX] I saw a bubble, approximately 2" inches in diameter on the outside facing sidewall of the right front tire. At the time I saw the bubble, the car had approximately 9,700 miles on the odometer. The vehicle WAS NOT involved in any accident or DID NOT strik
... e any large pot holes or other object that would cause the bubble on the tire. The tire is a manufactured by Hankook and it is part of the Kinergy GT series. Tire size is 215/45R18 89V. Bubble can be seen directly over the tire size on the sidewall (see pictures). This is an extremely serious condition. It can result in catastrophic tire failure causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and resulting in potential injury or death. I took the vehicle to the Nissan dealership where I bought it and they WOULD NOT cover it under my 36 month new car warranty. I had to pay $339.54 to replace the defective tire. The vehicle was purchased in August 2022 and this failure occurred approximately 3.5 years later, just 10 months outside the bumper-to-bumper warranty. When I brough
... t the vehicle to the Honda dealer, I was informed I would be charged $100 for diagnostics even if I declined the repair, leaving me no real choice but to proceed. The total repair cost was $276 (parts $189.78, labor $70.95, misc $15.60) plus taxes. I contacted Honda Customer Relations requesting goodwill reimbursement. After a 3-week review, Honda denied the request. I believe this may be a manufacturing defect as another owner of the same Odyssey model has reported the identical failure.Read more
