Subject: Paint Failure – Known Defect (Honda White Paint Peeling) Vehicle Information: - Year: 2016 - Make: Honda - Model: [Fit or HR-V — fill in] - Color: Orchid White Pearl (NH-788P) - Purchase Date: August 2016 Complaint: I am reporting a paint defect affecting my 2016 Honda vehicle with Orchid White Pearl paint. The paint has been actively peeling since early September 2022
... and has progressively worsened over time, now affecting numerous areas of the vehicle. The peeling is occurring without any external damage, impact, or misuse, and appears to be a spontaneous coating failure. Honda previously acknowledged this issue and issued a warranty extension for affected vehicles. However, I was denied assistance solely because the vehicle is now outside the extended warranty period, despite the defect clearly matching known failure conditions. This issue is widely reported among Honda vehicles with this paint color and model years. There are also class action lawsuits alleging that Honda vehicles suffer from defective white paint that peels and delaminates due to manufacturing defects. Safety Concern: While primarily cosmetic, peeling paint exposes underlying metal surfaces, which may lead to corrosion and long-term deterioration if not addressed. Request: I request that this issue be documented and investigated as a manufacturer defect. Consumers should not bear the cost of widespread premature paint failure that has already been acknowledged by the manufacturer. Additional Notes: Honda corporate has denied assistance based solely on warranty expiration, not on the nature of the defect itself.Read more

I have a 2018 Ram 1500 ecodiesel with the 2nd gen 3.0L V6 diesel engine. This engine has a well known defect causing the tone wheel to delaminate and stall the engine. This is what happened to me and the dealership is telling me I need my tone wheel and position sensor replaced. Per what you have put out [XXX] My truck should be covered under the recall 73A as I meet all the requirements. Stel
... lantis is denying my replacement. The dealership performed 66A and is telling me they are being rejected by Stellantis for 73A or any other work. Stellantis has been giving me the run around and throwing every excuse in the book why they won’t do it. The most recent excuse is they say the website provided is not a legitimate webpage so they aren’t going to follow the NHTSA guidelines it sets forth. Per the 2023 update to the class action ruling my truck is supposed to be covered, and after looking online there are hundreds of others facing the same problems. There is even a petition with 250 signatures online about this issue. Short of filing a class action I’m not sure what else to do. According to everything I’m reading per the NHTSA I’m in the right, but FCA/Stellantis is denying responsibility. This all feels reminiscent of the $105 million 2015 ruling against FCA for not honoring recalls. If there is anything you can do to address this matter I would greatly appreciate it because there are hundreds of us facing thousands in repairs because a trillion dollar company wants to squeeze out a couple more dollars profit. On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our
... hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.Read more

Despite proper maintenance, the vehicle is burning oil at an excessive rate. I have already replaced the oil pan, but the issue persists. I now have to add oil frequently between oil changes. This creates a serious safety concern, as low oil levels can cause engine failure while driving, leading to sudden loss of power or stalling in traffic. This puts me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk.
... There are no visible leaks, which suggests the oil is being burned internally. This appears to be a potential defect rather than normal wear and tear. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as it may affect other vehicles of the same make and model. This is becoming very expensive having to refill oil as the dipstick shows nothing. This has been confirmed by technicians that there has been no oil in my car despite coming in on time or before the recommended miles. The oil light will come on a few weeks after having the oil changed. It seems this is an issue with this engine type.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to document ongoing brake related concerns on my 2020 Hyundai Elantra that may affect vehicle safety. Since April 2024, I have experienced repeated brake rotor warpage that causes vibration during braking, reduced braking consistency, and a noticeable change in stopping behavior. These symptoms raise concerns about braking performance and overall vehicle control. I r
... eported the issue to Hyundai Motor America and followed their required warranty process, including an inspection at High Desert Hyundai. The dealership indicated the condition should be covered under warranty, but I was charged twice for what should have been a no cost warranty inspection. HMA later denied warranty coverage based on an undefined claim of “outside influence” without providing any criteria, explanation, or evidence supporting that conclusion. The denial prevented me from understanding the basis of their determination or how it applied to the brake condition. HMA then directed me into the BBB Auto Line program under case number HYU2605570 as the next step for disputing the decision. Throughout this process, Hyundai did not provide any additional information or documentation explaining the cause of the brake condition or addressing the safety concerns I raised. Because braking performance affects stopping distance and vehicle control, I am reporting this issue to NHTSA so the agency is aware of the repeated brake vibration and rotor warpage, the inconsistent braking behavior, and the lack of clarity from the manufacturer regarding the cause. I possess all invoices, communications, photographs, and documentation related to the inspections and interactions with the dealership, HMA, and BBB Auto Line, and I have maintained these records since April 2024. I also filed a complaint with the NHTSA for this same reason on February 4, 2025, complaint no. 11638352, for reference.Read more

My 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD was previously repaired under GM safety recall N232426400 / NHTSA recall 24V060 for the power-unlatching tailgate switch, which can fail from water intrusion. The recall repair was completed and the recall now shows as closed. Recently, the same tailgate switch problem occurred again. The dealer diagnosed water intrusion/corrosion affecting the tailgate release switch ci

I am reporting this as a possible failed or inadequate recall remedy. The same water-intrusion condition addressed by the recall appears to have recurred after the recall repair, and the vehicle now requires additional repair to the same tailgate release system. This raises concern that the recalled safety defect was not fully remedied and that other vehicles may experience repeat failures after the recall is marked complete.Read more

Our 2022 Hyundai Sonata experienced multiple issues related to recalls affecting the vehicle’s reliability and operation. Hyundai has failed to complete the buyback process and has not provided a resolution within a reasonable time. There have been repeated delays and missed timelines. The extended period without a functioning vehicle creates reliability concerns and potential safety risks, as the vehicle could not be safely depended on for regular use prior to being removed from service.
