Rear lift gate randomly opens and closes automatically while driving and when parked. My kids were in the back seat and there were groceries in the trunk that could have fallen out. Dealership said it's not a recall, and that it is due to a bad weather stripping around the rear window allowing water into the lift gate and damage the controls.

It has been evaluated by a dealership and they claim that it has to be replaced at a cost of $2100. This is a pretty widespread issue in these Pilots with varying mileage. After a 2K miles, clicking sounds began with CV joints. Clicking progressively getting louder and can be felt. This is a safety issue because these joints will ultimately fail. Honda states there is NO FIX to the issue. There are many many many owners who are experiencing this same issue.

I wanted to report that this vehicle, according to Carfax, had 169,236 miles on August 15, 2025, and 9/4/25, and 85,326 miles on January 24, 2026. That's only 4 months! The odometer was tampered with, and this seller knew it was altered because it went through 5 different sellers in those 4 months. I don't know if their reports are true or false, which is why I'm writing to see if you can help me.

It has not been inspected by the manufacturer and will be sold to another person as is. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to the failure and didn't appear until after the failure.
