My 2019 Hyundai Tucson, VIN [XXX] , has developed engine knocking, which may indicate internal engine failure. A mechanic has suggested a possible loss of cylinder compression, though the exact cause has not been confirmed. Hyundai vehicles from similar model years have experienced engine failures related to bearing wear and metal debris, leading to stalling, loss of power, and complete engine fa
... ilure. These failures present a serious safety risk, particularly if the engine fails while driving. I am concerned that this defect could result in sudden loss of power or engine seizure, increasing the risk of an accident. I am submitting this complaint to ensure the issue is properly investigated and addressed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

In December 2024, at under 50,000 miles, my 2021 Chevrolet Colorado suffered complete brake failure caused by vacuum pump failure. The vacuum pump failure led to irreparable internal engine damage, requiring complete engine replacement under warranty. Sudden, complete brake failure in traffic could have led to a serious accident causing injuries or death to myself and/or others. The component was
... inspected by the manufacturer and the service advisor at the dealership stated this was "kind of a known issue on Colorados". There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This vacuum pump failure is documented in GM Technical Service Bulletin #21-NA-268, which addresses vacuum pump failures on other GM vehicles. The identical failure mode in my 2021 Colorado demonstrates this is a systemic manufacturing defect, not an isolated incident.Read more

The ignition coil was replaced and the sensor light was adjusted at 78,709 miles on 09/05/25. The sensor light came back on the next day. I went into the dealership 3 different times to tell them there had to be a leak. Since they assured me that it was just the sensor and I had no leak, they did not give me another appointment to check it out. On 12/04/25 a message came on that said it was overheating and to park the car immediately. It then went into limp mode. I was given an appointment on 12/10/25 and I had the car towed in. At 80,158 miles the dealership informed me that there was coolant intrusion in the engine and the cylinders and the car would need a new engine.Read more

I have had two major problems with this car. At approximately 84,000 miles, the engine started making a very loud noise, regardless of speed. This is completely unfair and unjust for me to have to pay this for a manufacturer's defect. In the second incident shortly thereafter, I was on the highway in traffic when the automatic stop-start function failed, and the car stopped and did not re-start. I had cars backed up behind me, and it was a very unsafe situation. After turning the car off completely, I managed to restart it, and got off the highway. On December 13, 2025, my vehicle (2021 Mazda CX-30) was serviced at a Valvoline Instant Oil Change location. During service, the technician stated he was checking tire pressure and asked whether 36 PSI was acceptable. I agreed. When I pulled out of the bay, the tire pressure warning light remained on and showed 29 PSI. I stopped immediately and informed the technician. He then stated he could not

The technician told me I should drive the vehicle anyway and suggested I try removing the cap myself using pliers. No written warning or safety notice was provided. On December 16, 2025, while traveling on Interstate 81, I heard a pop/rattle and the vehicle became progressively louder. A warning displayed: “TPMS Malfunction. Have the vehicle inspected.” I continued driving until I could safely exit. The tire was shredded by the time I pulled over. The incident appears consistent with progressive deflation/underinflation leading to tire failure. The vehicle was released for highway operation despite the technician’s stated inability to service the tire at the valve stem.Read more

Over the past 13 mo
... nth, I have invested over $200,000 with your dealership in the past 5 years!. My truck was recently held for two weeks for service. After I lodged a complaint, the General Manager suggested I seek service elsewhere. This recommendation was made after I responded to an email stating that, following the completion of repairs to the headliner, third brake light, and brakes/rotors, I would no longer be utilizing Crain's services. The headliner sustained water damage due to improper installation by your technician, and fingerprints were also evident. I firmly believe in transparent communication regarding service progress, which was notably absent in this instance. Both the General Manager and Service Manager deferred responsibility, instructing me to contact GM directly, only for GM to inform me that direct contact was inappropriate. This resulted in a continuous cycle of unaddressed concerns with the service manager. Currently, I am operating an $80,000 vehicle that has incurred damage from a technician and exhibits a ticking engine. Furthermore, the driver's side mirror, which was previously replaced due to shaking at highway speeds, is now exhibiting the same issue, despite a technician's assertion that this is normal. I also note that my brakes, with over 89% remaining, are beginning to squeak, which your team claims is normal. This assessment is difficult to accept.Read more

I had taken it n three times previously for hard shifting but it was an occasionally occurrence, they could never find any codes to explain so did not look further than what the computer said. That day, it did not throw any codes, until the secondary mechanic took the time to look under the hood, find the cut wire and fix that. Then he had 3 pages of codes. Now I not only have to pay the financed amount on this vehicle but I have to pay an additional 10,000 for a car that did not do its high functioning job and report a problem when i was feeling the problem and probably could have been a warranty fix before the warranty expired if the code appeared the first time, telling the computer to tell the technician to fix it.Read more

July – November 2025: While the dealership attempted repairs, I was provided a rental vehicle to allow safe transportation. November 2025: The dealership replaced a part, and I briefly regained use of the car for two days. However, after charging, a loud knocking noise occurred, and something was ticking underneath the vehicle, forcing me to return it immediately due to safety concerns. December 2025 (Most Recent Service): The dealership returned the vehicle after performing only a hard reset. The dangerous underlying problem remains unresolved. Despite repeated repair attempts, the manufacturer has not responded to my attorney or addressed these life-threatening risks. Driving this vehicle remains extremely unsafe and puts my family in immediate danger. I am urgently requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter and take immediate action to address these unresolved safety defects.Read more

I own a 2022 Nissan LEAF (VIN [XXX] ) that is subject to a Nissan safety recall advising owners not to use DC fast charging due to risk of battery overheating and fire. DC fast charging is a core function of an electric vehicle. Nissan’s instruction to avoid fast charging effectively removes this capability. In addition, some public charging networks have restricted or blocked Nissan LEAF fast
... charging, further limiting safe operation. Nissan has not provided a permanent repair. A proposed software update does not address the underlying physical battery risk and does not restore full charging functionality. As a result, the vehicle cannot be used as intended, and owners are left with reduced charging capability and increased safety uncertainty. I believe this defect presents an ongoing safety risk and warrants regulatory review. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

My Ford started making a loud noise whenever the accelerator wasn't being pressed, after taking it to the mechanic, he said it is the cracked flex plate. After some light research, it was aparent that this is an issue that Ford's cars have, and ford has tried to make it better by offering free fixes. I contacted the local ford dealer and since the car has 90,000 miles, it would have been covered.
... However, since it doesn't have a clean title, I was declined this service free of charge. I don't agree with this decision since I've been driving this car for over a year since it was purchased off IAA auction, and this issue was made clear only yesterday, but this issue is prevalent in cars like mine. The damage to my car specifically was to the back, and only affected the rear bumper and trunk. Therefore I don't think it is fair that I was declined the serve even though Ford has made it clear it is there manufacturing mistake and they are willing to fix it, just not with cars with my type of title. I was hoping to send in this incident so that this issue becomes a national recall, and more people can get their cars rightfully fixed and aware of this serious issue that can make the car completely unusable before it gets too late. I wasn't aware this was a common issue when purchasing this car, so a recall would protect more people since it will become mandatory information for owners to be aware of this issue. Thank you!Read more
