piston rings wore out prematurely on our 2012 honda odyssey. this was caused by the vcm system. its a known issue on hondas. it only had 88,600 miles at the time. we were driving our 2012 honda odyssey in december 2023. the check engine light began to flash. it starting running rough. we had it towed to a honda dealer for inspection. they pulled codes p303 and p304. they said the rings were worn
... and spark plugs fouled. they said this is a common issue because of the vcm. they peformed a rering job and with all parts and labor the cost came to $4000. we are very disgusted that this issue was already known by honda and they failed to place the vehicle on recall or wave the repair cost. they had a previous recall for this issue, but they say it was for a limited time frame. my mother only drives less than 10k miles a year, so the issue wouldnt have happened before 2016, as the miles on her van were still very low. we are issueing a complaint against honda for this issue. we are asking for reimbursement for the repair for the piston ring job which was $4000 while we had the vehicle in for this repair, we were also informed of other issues with the van, and we went ahead with those repairs as well, which brought our repair bill total to over $6419, which is also shown on the same receipt.Read more

2025 Honda Accord Hybrid experiences a severe, loud knocking noise when turning the steering wheel while stationary or at low speeds. The dealership attempted to grease the components but the mechanical knock remains. This is a known EPS/steering rack defect on the 11th generation Accord and poses a steering failure/binding safety risk at highway speeds.

Cannot reduce the horrible noise with volume control or by changing from radio to BT or USB or any other Source option. When turning on gradual curves at highway speeds the steering sticks then suddenly releases resulting in the need to correct the steering in the opposite direction rapidly. This could cause the driver to over-correct the steering leading to a potential accident. From what I understand, Honda is recommending a full steering rack replacement which is estimated between $3k-$5k+. Serious issue.

I will first start with our problems/concerns. We had experienced a complete lost power in freeway speed (65 mph) when the battery is depleted, that is when the battery bar goes to zero bar instead of 2 bars usually. I attached a photo from the video I took for your reference. This experience was the engine ramp up and not getting any power while driving on freeway, escpecially obvious during uphi
... ll slope. It is a safety hazard where we had to manuver in order avoid traffic since we could not maintain freeway speed. This originally happened around 2022, but we checked with Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos and they told us nothing is wrong and because there was no fault code, nothing they can do. When the Recall service canoaign 24-031 came, we were relieved because we think the problem is going to be fixed. We brought our Honda Clarity to the dealer on 2/3/2025 for the recall and everything was fine (meaning we can drive on HV after our battery is depleted). But around December 2025, my wife experienced the same situation where she couldn’t keep up with the freeway speed after exhausted the electric range of 34 miles. We took it to dealer again on 1/16/2026 and described the situation, dealer came back and said nothing has been found and there were no fault code. After that, the only way that we are trying to do is to avoid the battery to get down to zero miles, but since our battery is only getting 34 miles full charge instead of the 47 miles when it was new (dealer also said this is normal depreciation, I am not sure about that). Again, thank you for helping since losing engine power and speed on freeway is pretty scary and I hope this is enough information for my case. Here are answers to your questions. Formally lodging a complaint regarding a severe manufacturing defect in my newly purchased 2026 Honda CR-V and to demand an immediate windshield replacement under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. I purchased this vehicle less than six months ago. It currently has under 6,000 miles on the odometer and has been driven exclusively on local back roads, not highways. Despite this exceptionally light
... and careful use, a hairline stress crack has spontaneously developed on the windshield. The crack originates completely hidden beneath the black frit at the extreme edge of the glass and spread inward without any external impact, rock strike, or user error. Extensive research indicates that this is a widespread, documented engineering failure on Honda's part, not an isolated incident. The automotive industry and consumer protection forums are flooded with identical complaints regarding the 2023–2026 CR-V generations. To meet weight and fuel economy metrics, Honda is clearly utilizing excessively thin, lower-quality glass that cannot withstand the standard structural flexion of the vehicle's frame. This exact phenomenon of spontaneous edge-stress fracturing has been the subject of extreme consumer backlash, ongoing National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) database trends, and prior class-action litigation (such as *Hasan v. American Honda Motor Co.*) targeting Honda’s refusal to honor warranties for this exact structural defect. A vehicle less than six months old should not suffer a spontaneous windshield failure, nor should the consumer bear the financial burden of replacing substandard factory materials. Furthermore, the failure of this glass inherently compromises the forward-facing Honda Sensing camera, posing an active safety and calibration risk.Read more

They recommend full compressor replacement (~$1,580). • Inspections: Inspected and diagnosed by Mt. Kisco Honda (Service Advisor [XXX] ). No police, insurance, or other third-party inspections. • Prior symptoms: Intermittent A/C failure (cold some days, warm/hot others, recirculate button resets) since purchase. Progressively worsened. No other warning lights or symptoms. Additional Details: This is a known issue on 2019–2025 Honda Passports, Pilots, and Ridgelines with the 3.5L V6 and R-1234yf refrigerant (oil causes premature shaft seal wear). Honda issued TSB 23-050 and 10-year warranty extensions for the identical problem on CR-V and Civic models. At only 37,000 miles, this appears to be a manufacturing/design-related defect present or developing from new. I have attached the dealer diagnostic paperwork. Please investigate for a potential recall or extended coverage. Case # with Honda Corporate: XXX INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The vehicle’s HVAC/A/C system malfunctioned. The primary symptom was hot air blowing from the driver-side vents while the passenger side intermittently continued blowing cooler air. The issue appeared suddenly with no prior indication of problems. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. ... t safety feature. Loss of reliable A/C creates risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration, impaired concentration, and unsafe driving conditions for both the driver and passengers, especially during long drives or heavy traffic in high temperatures. A significant risk to health and safety. 3. Yes. The issue was reproduced and confirmed during inspection by a service center/dealership. The vehicle demonstrated inconsistent cooling performance and hot air from the driver-side vents. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by a service center/dealership for diagnostic and repair purposes. 5. No warning lights, dashboard messages, or HVAC-related diagnostic codes appeared prior to the failure. Additionally, during regular maintenance visits and dealership multi-point inspections over the years, no HVAC concerns, refrigerant leaks, or preventative maintenance recommendations were identified. The issue appeared suddenly during normal vehicle operation without advance warning. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

We have had a number of issues and several recalls associated with our 2017 Honda Pilot which has less than 78,000 miles on it. The issue I am writing about today involves the recent failure of the high-pressure fuel pump which I believe is related to the prior failure of the low-pressure fuel pump. In 2023, there was a recall of the low-pressure fuel pump for our 2017 Honda Pilot. The repair for
... our low-pressure fuel pump was delayed for 14 months because Honda did not have enough parts to cover all recalled vehicles. Therefore, we had to wait for over a year to get the low-pressure fuel pump replaced. Last week, our high-pressure fuel pump failed due to "internal failure" per the dealer. It is common knowledge that damage or failure of a low-pressure fuel pump can directly cause damage or failure of a high-pressure fuel pump because the high-pressure fuel pump relies on consistent, pressurized supply of fuel from the low-pressure fuel pump for lubrication and cooling. I believe the failure of the low-pressure fuel pumped coupled with the delay replacement of the low-pressure fuel caused the failure of the high-pressure fuel pump. Based on shared experiences online from other Honda Pilot owners, it seems like a lot of people are suffering similar issues. The high-pressure fuel pump is not currently under recall and, therefore, vehicle owners have to pay for the replacement of this part. I believe the failures of the high-pressure fuel pump and the connection to the failures of the recalled low-pressure fuel pumps should be investigated. Thank you.Read more
