Catastrophic engine failure, no oil, over 3 qts low, oil light did not come on, 4 Cylinder had no compression. In summary: On [XXX] oil light came on, how? I just had oil change on 7/28/25. Stopped to check oil, it was dry. Bought 5Qts at WalMart, put 3 Qts in. Checked oil every day, started keeping 5Qt jug oil in car. 9/1/25 took in to have checked for oil leak/oil change, No leak detected. Cont
... inued checking oil consumption everyday, adding oil all the time... Purchased 5 Qts - 5 Times between August & November 2025. On 11/21/25 took to Auto Shop my MaxCare Extended Service Plan sent me to for a few minor checks, including to check again for oil leak. There was no leak found but they did need to replace valve cover gasket - Engine Valve Cover. Continued to check oil, added when low as needed. On [XXX] driving on highway, about 15 minutes at approx. 75-80 mph, started losing speed, had to really press on gas pedal to keep going, felt some vibration underneath engine maybe (?), engine light came on, I got off exit, went through intersection, car barely made it, pulled off on shoulder. Called for tow truck, it was cold, after waiting a while I turned car on to get some heat but the heat was not working. Auto Shop car was towed to had to add 3 qts of oil to do diag test. PO304cylinder 4 misfire, PO303cylinder 3 misfire... no compression on cylinder 4. No signs of visible oil leak(s). * Had car towed to Gerald Kia Dealer, Naperville, IL Their diagnostic test ONLY indicated that spark plugs need to be replaced and recommend that I get a 3 part carbon body cleaning, at my expense. I told the Service Tech I would be right up there to see manager. He told me to FIRST send him all my receipts for oil & oil changes, and he will see what he can do. didn't hear back. Went there in person 1/9/26. Manager told me that his tech "forgot" to do one test, i waited 1/2 hour, those results DID indicate engine needs to be replaced. But, Kia is not paying for it..... I have an appointment coming up on the 21 of January which is ridiculous that I have to wait 3 weeks to have it looked at. . Thank you for your time. The only reason I found the problem with the car was a stick got stuck in the rusted out parts and when I took it out a bunch of rust fell on the ground.Read more

Hi. I noticed my vehicle was randomly making a clunking noise in the rear end. Also, on the highway, it would drift and was difficult to steer. I took it to dealership to be examined because it was still under warranty. They showed me that the driver's side rear trailing arm was disconnected. The bolt was not even there. They stated that it was caused by outside influence, possibly from hitting so
... mething. But I did not hit anything. The only sign of damage was where the loose trailing arm rubbed against the steering knuckle. They also told me it was too dangerous to drive off the lot. Because they claimed outside influence, they did not cover it under warranty. I took it to my mechanic. He believed the bolt had come loose on its own. He thought this because the trailing arm bolt on the passenger side was very loose and about to fall out. The mechanic replaced the missing bolt and tightened the loose bolt. I would like to document that this happened and see if any other people had reported this problem. Lexus denied that there was an issue.Read more

Two issues that I want to make known. First is a classic jeep issue with the death wobble. I currently have the jeep back in the shop for the current recall and having them fix the wobbling again. This would be the second time that it has happened. worried because the warranty is about to expire. Next is a problem that I almost forgot about until recently because I started driving a rental jeep
... wrangler. With my jeep, when I have the adaptive cruse control on, it some times thinks there is a car in front of me when it is in the next lane, and right in the middle of the highway, my jeep tries to stop because there is a car next to me in its own lane. This has been going on for a while now but i have never gotten it looked at because of the cost. im going to have both issues looked at during the recall because my extended warranty is ending and im worried that if i dont get it fixed now, im going to have to pay more in the future. Side notes about my jeep, it was a buy back before I purchased it. Was supposedly fixed. At around 10k miles I had a radiator issue and then needed to have a complete engine replacement. With both of these battery recalls, I have had to get a new battery. Im about to get by 3rd. There has also been hvac issues fixed in the past. I tried to contact jeep about another buy back, but they denied the claim without even talking to me. Currently working on trying to actually talk to someone.Read more

I experienced the brakes squeaking on and off for a few weeks this past summer. When at the dealership for an oil change, I was told the brakes pads were still good and the squeaking is common, especially during hot humid weather. Since then, I have lost the brakes twice. Both times, the pedal went all the way to the floor without resistance and after a few seconds, they came back like nothing hap
... pened. There was no warning at all. I have also experienced a complete blackout on my dashboard for about 30 minutes without known reason. On a separate occasion, the battery died for no reason. There have been times that a message is displayed on the dash to service rear turn signal lights. They flash fast as if they were out, then the next time I drive the car, they are completely normal. From what has been reported, there are some serious concerns with the 2024 Acadia. I have leased 3 Acadia's before this one and have never experienced anything like this. The brakes failing completely could have ended very badly for myself and/or others. There are several other reports of this nature. Please look into recalling this vehicle to prevent fatalities!!Read more

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, I was operating my vehicle when an oncoming single vehicle traveling in the opposite direction entered a curve at an excessive speed, lost control, and crossed into my lane. I attempted to steer away to avoid the collision; however, the oncoming vehicle struck my vehicle along the driver’s side. The collision caused significant damage to the driver's side and result
... ed in a failure of the passenger-side rear wheel/tire assembly, complete detachment of the tire from the vehicle. During the collision, none of my vehicle’s airbags deployed, despite the side-impact nature of the crash and the force of the collision. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The airbag restraint system failed to deploy during a significant collision involving the driver. The vehicle and airbag system remain intact and are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The lack of airbag deployment during a driver-side impact increased the risk of injury to me as the vehicle operator. Airbags are designed to provide supplemental protection in collisions of this type, and the absence of deployment reduced occupant protection. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No diagnostic inspection or reproduction testing has yet been performed. Evaluation by a dealer or manufacturer representative is pending. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Police responded to the accident scene. The incident has been reported to insurance representatives. Manufacturer inspection has not yet occurred, but the vehicle remains available for review. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights, dashboard messages, or other symptoms related to the airbagRead more

On [XXX] I discovered water in my car. ~2.5 inch front passenger and back driver and passenger side. Condensation on the sunroof. My sunroof was not opened/completely shut. I called VW service was advised my car was not covered under the class action or warranty and advised to report to my insurance. I did not want to report and risk my insurance rate increasing. I have never filed a claim in the
... 20+ years of having the car. After researching and taking my call for repairs I discovered that my vehicle should be covered on the extended warranty IF the recall 60E5/60E2 was repaired. I am in Ohio where the damage was discovered my regular service dealer is in Illinois. 1)The service dealer in Illinois did complete the 60E5/60E2 recall. 2) the extend warranty % coverage should cover my car however I was told my VIN was not apart of the class action although the recall was performed an no record in the system with VW and if it were I would not be covered because I am 5 months out of the in service date. 3) the damage is ~ 3000.00 and increasing because now the sunroof switch doesn’t work and the screen is damaged from water. There is mold in my car which is a health hazard. I have exhausted trying to navigate through this issue! If my car was not apart of the class action it should have been. The insurance minus my deductible does not cover the cost of repairs. I have been without a call since this incident. This is a health hazard consumer driving hazard and should be investigated ASAP. I have attached the initial estimate which will be supplementally adjusted, the service 60E5 document . Only possible way to get the vehicle to stop was to remove the ignition key, put lever in park, pulled park break up. Flames now under the dash & smoke was pouring out from under the hood. My safety was at risk and had to exit the vehicle as fast as possible from drivers side with cars approaching. After exit, saw flames in the tire well also; witness saw flames under the car therefore he was yelling "get away from the car, it's on fire". Got away as fast as possible. The witness called the fire department who arrived extremely timely (and police even sooner). FD attempted to put out fire with water first, then needed foam as it ultimately turned into a gas tank fuel fire. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer since there was nothing to speak of left. While traveling at low speeds in parking lots and in the operation of parking, my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 gets a hard brake pedal that goes to the floor but I have no brakes. I almost hit a person in a local grocery store parking lot, at the bank driving up to the ATM, and I almost lost my truck over a bank because the brakes failed. This has happened multiple times at low speeds but it is getting m

With approximately 5,200 miles on my new vehicle, received an error message on the dash while driving on 1/8/2026 that read “Reduced acceleration; Drive with care”. I immediately took the vehicle to a local GM dealership and was informed on 1/9/2026 that due to a faulty thrust bearing (covered under the non-mandatory technical service bulletin 25-NA-307), the entire engine sustained a catastro
... phic failure and that the engine “tanked itself” and “grenaded itself”. Driving with the reduced acceleration mode active is beyond frightening as it’s very difficult to navigate traffic intersections in time to avoid oncoming traffic. It was also noted that it other cases where this faulty part causes the engine to totally fail, the vehicle becomes unusable at that point. I was informed that a replacement motor is not expected from General Motors for at least 2-3 months as this is becoming a more prevalent issue with certain 2025 Sierra’s with the 3.0 Duramax diesel motor.Read more

What happened: In mid-December 2025, my 2020 Silverado 1500 (VIN: [XXX] ) suffered a catastrophic failure of the DEF Tank Assembly (P/N 84914535) at 29,354 miles—less than 30% of its warranted life. This is a latent design defect involving undersized terminal pins that suffer thermal degradation and melt the connector during high-amperage heater operation in arctic conditions (Ref: GM TSB 21-NA-
... 006). Component Availability: The failed assembly is held at the dealership. I have submitted a "Part Preservation Request" to ensure it is available for forensic inspection by federal regulators. Safety Risk: The failure triggers an EPA-mandated "Limp Mode," initiating a software-forced reduction in speed. Unexpectedly losing speed on high-speed, icy Alaskan highways—where roadside snowbanks prevent safe egress—creates an extreme risk of rear-end collisions. Furthermore, a vehicle restricted to 5 MPH or rendered inoperable in temperatures of -30°F to -50°F poses a direct, life-threatening risk of cold-weather exposure in remote areas. Confirmation: Failure was confirmed by Lithia Chevrolet GMC of Fairbanks on Jan 7, 2026. GDS2 diagnostic verified DTCs P20B9, P20C1, P205D, and P204C. Data was reviewed by the GM District Manager of Aftersales (DMA) and GM Customer Assistance (Case #[XXX]). Warning Symptoms: Check Engine lamp and "Service Emission System" message appeared in mid-Dec 2025, followed by a "Speed Limited" countdown. The electrical disconnect was abrupt due to terminal pin melting, as documented in my forensic engineering report. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
