It was cold out and my sister was driving my car with the heated seats on when she started to smell fire as well as her back got really hot. She pulled over and leaned forward and discovered a flame/fire coming through the seat back. She burned my hand and had visible ash on it trying to put the fire out. There is now a hole in the seat back from where the fire burned through.

I bought my truck new in June 2025. On the night of December 29, 2025, with around 9,300 miles on the odometer, I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the engine while I was driving it back to my house from my mother's house. The sound got progressively louder and louder. The truck eventually displayed a "reduced acceleration drive with care" warning. I thought catastrophic engine failure wa
... s imminent and did not believe I could make it home. I called my in-laws (they were closer to my location than my house), agreed to park it there overnight, and thankfully made it to their house. The next day the truck was towed to the GMC dealership. A week later, GMC diagnosed this issue as a thrust bearing/crankshaft issue and agreed to replace the entire engine. A crankshaft issue in a new diesel engine should not occur, yet it did. My vehicle is currently being repaired, so the dealership said they had no repair records to provide me. This is the link to the video of the sound it was making after I made it to the in-laws: [XXX] I had just dropped off my [XXX] child with my mother about twenty minutes earlier. I was extremely close to being stranded on the side of the highway at night in the December cold with a [XXX] baby. Thankfully, that did not happen, but it was a close call. My cousin also has had a similar issue with the exact same make and model of his truck. I believe this engine is not being manufactured according to the design specifications and it is a danger to the public until the manufacturing issue with the supplier is adequately corrected. The defect involves the front suspension and/or steering system of a new 2026 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Symptoms—persistent front-end clunking/thunking (primarily driver-side), steering instability, and vibration—began immediately upon delivery in late 2025, with Tesla notified same afternoon as delivery. The vibration now begins aroun
... d 60 mph and intensifies with speed. Steering feel is excessively vague on-center (requiring constant correction to maintain lane position) yet overly twitchy and sensitive to inputs, creating inconsistent and unpredictable handling. The condition has progressively worsened and now renders the vehicle unsafe at highway speeds due to risk of loss of control. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms have appeared prior to or since onset. Tesla service centers have had multiple opportunities to evaluate the vehicle under warranty. The problem has not been confirmed objectively by Tesla; during at least one evaluation, a technician drove only at speeds below complaint threshold (despite requests to test at the speeds where symptoms occur), stated he did not feel the issue, and performed no further diagnosis. Multiple appointments were canceled or rescheduled by Tesla (including one after I arrived). The vehicle was repeatedly returned without documented objective testing or repair addressing the complaint. During one visit, the Tesla app indicated an active “visual quality check” while the vehicle remained parked outside and not being worked on for an extended period (documented). To rule out tires, I installed a brand-new set; the vibration worsened afterward. Safety risk: Unresolved steering/suspension instability increases the risk of loss of vehicle control at highway speeds, endangering occupants and other road users. Since we bought the vehicle new in 2022, it has had an ongoing brake noise at low speeds. It sounds like a screeching or grinding, and I only hear it when I press the brake pedal. It is most noticeable right after startup when driving slowly. The main issue I am reporting is uneven rear brake pad wear, which may indicate the rear brake system is not applying evenly or not functioning correctly. T
... he component involved is the rear brake system (rear brake pads and related parts). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. A Volkswagen dealership confirmed an uneven wear condition. On 12/31/2025, the dealership performed an inspection and recorded that the left rear brake pad measured 3 mm while the right rear measured 8 mm. They recommended replacing the rear brake pads but did not diagnose or repair the cause of why one rear side is wearing much faster than the other. In prior visits, the dealership stated the noise was related to the type/quality of brake pads used. When I contacted the dealership again about the ongoing noise and the uneven wear, they stated they did not have a solution to correct the underlying problem and referred me to Volkswagen Customer Care, indicating they cannot get the brakes functioning beyond replacing pads. Volkswagen Customer Care then advised me I would need to work through the dealership. I believe this creates a safety risk because uneven rear brake wear may mean the brakes are not working the same on both sides, which could affect stopping distance or braking stability, and could lead to brake problems if one side wears out much sooner than the other. There have been no warning lights or messages. The symptoms began soon after purchase in 2022 and have continued over time.Read more

Body / Liftgate The rear hatch unexpectedly dropped and fell on my head while the vehicle was stationary. The right-side rear hatch gas strut separated from the body at the mounting point. The left-side rear hatch gas strut had also shown signs of imminent failure and subsequently broke near its mounting point. This resulted in loss of hatch support and uncontrolled closure, creating a risk of he
... ad and upper-body injury. The failure appears related to structural stress at the strut mounting locations, not misuse. Seat Belt – Rear Center Passenger The rear center passenger seat belt upper cover can be easily pulled off by passengers, which breaks the plastic retaining tab. When the tab breaks, plastic fragments fall into the seat belt mechanism, causing the belt to jam and fail to retract properly. This results in impaired seat belt function, which is a safety concern for rear passengers. The vehicle has not been modified, and the failure occurred during normal use. Vehicle mileage at time of incident was approximately 150,000 miles. The rear center passenger seat belt issue has been present since the vehicle was new. The rear center passenger seat belt mechanism was replaced twice by the dealer during the warranty period, with one replacement performed as a goodwill repair after Toyota Corporate declined coverage. Despite these repairs, the same issue reoccurred, indicating a persistent design-related vulnerability rather than isolated misuse. The issue results in seat belt jamming and failure to retract, which is a safety concern.Read more

I am reporting a safety-related defect involving the 10R80 transmission in my 2019 Ford F-150. The vehicle experiences erratic shifting and loss of power that appears to be caused by a known defect in the transmission’s CDF clutch drum assembly. Ford has issued TSBs for this problem (including TSB 25-2126), which describe axial movement of the CDF drum sleeve leading to hydraulic pressure loss.
... However, this issue has not been addressed through a recall. My vehicle exhibits symptoms consistent with this defect, including: •Harsh and unexpected shifts •Delayed engagement when accelerating •RPM flares and slipping between gears •Loss of power or hesitation during passing, merging, or turning •Sudden or unpredictable shift behavior that affects vehicle control These symptoms occur at random and create unsafe driving conditions, especially when entering traffic or making left turns. The loss of power and inconsistent shift timing can leave the vehicle unable to accelerate when necessary, which creates a potential crash hazard. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting Ford vehicles equipped with the 10R80 transmission from multiple model years. Many owners have reported the same symptoms, and transmission specialists have documented a design flaw in the original CDF drum, where the internal bushing moves out of position and causes hydraulic circuit failure. Ford has quietly released a revised CDF drum, which further indicates that the original design may be defective. Because this defect can cause unpredictable loss of power or abnormal shifting that affects driver control, I believe it constitutes a safety risk and should be investigated. A TSB does not ensure repair unless a failure is already happening, which puts drivers and the public at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA open an investigation into CDF drum failures in the 10R80 transmission and evaluate whether a recall is warranted.Read more
