September 19, 2024: NHSTA Recall 24V-700 due to lithium battery fire risk. I was advised: Do not quick charge. Two interim letters were sent in October and November 2024 saying no remedy was available; do not quick charge. A third interim letter was in June 2025 sent saying do not quick charge but remedy would be available in third quarter 2025. All of the above is verified in NHSTA Safety Recall
... Report: [XXX] . This report indicates that an interim remedy is being tested, a remedy that will shut down the vehicle if the battery overheats to a point that it might cause a fire, but there is no permanent remedy available. I have received no communication from Nissan for the past 6 months. In December 2025, I asked my local Nissan dealer is a remedy was available and I was told they did not have a remedy available. I have now been unable to quick charge my car for 16 months. This is an egregious violation of my warranty. Nissan needs to repurchase my LEAF. I get an error message that says: Selector Lever Malfunction. Currently the car is still drivable it is an issue with the transmission/gear shifter for transmission. This could cause serious injury if the transmission decided to stop working/communicating with the sensor while driving. Currently it states that it is safe to drive, however I could be on my way home and have it switch without war

Where this could effect the transmission it could cause serious safety issues for myself and any other drivers on the road it if suddenly decides to change from, Okay to drive and Not okay to drive. It did not cause an incident with me, however there is large potential that it could cause an incident. I feel this should be investigated to prevent possibly injury or even worse, death if it impacts the operation of the vehicle while someone is driving.Read more

am reporting an issue involving unexplained cracking of my Tesla windshield with no known impact or debris strike. Last night at approximately 6:20 PM, while in Chapel Hill, NC, I entered my vehicle and noticed a crack on the driver’s side of the windshield. The outside temperature at that time was about 28°F. There was no audible rock strike and I have no recollection of anything hitting the g
... lass. The morning low temperature was approximately 14°F. To my awareness, the passenger-side crack was not present earlier that morning. Approximately 15 minutes ([XXX]EDT) before writing this statement, I was seated in the passenger seat and noticed a second crack on the passenger side. The temperature had risen to about 34°F. Again, there was no strike event that I recall while driving or parked. Both cracks appeared within a short time span during an unusually cold period with temperature changes between 14°F and 34°F. The passenger crack visually resembles an impact point, but I cannot identify any incident that would have caused it. My concern is that these cracks may indicate thermal stress, structural flex, a material defect, or bonding/installation issue. Windshield failure without impact presents a safety hazard due to reduced visibility and potential compromise of structural integrity during a collision. I am requesting that NHTSA document and evaluate this issue for potential safety implications. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Subject: Safety Complaint – 2022 Honda HR‑V – Intermittent Unintended Acceleration While Braking I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety defect in my 2022 Honda HR‑V. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly accelerated while I was pressing the brake pedal. This behavior is intermittent, unpredictable, and dangerous. Description of the Issue: While slowing dow

On [XXX], while driving approximately 30 mph, my vehicle displayed the warning “STOP SAFELY – ELECTRICAL FAULT DETECTED.” I immediately pulled over and restarted the vehicle, but the warning reappeared. Due to safety concerns and proximity to my home, I cautiously continued driving. Two blocks from my residence, I stopped briefly and received a message stating “BATTERY LOW – PLEASE STAR
... T ENGINE.” After restarting and turning the vehicle off again, the original warning cleared; however, the vehicle has been completely inoperable since [XXX]. The SUV was towed for battery replacement and then towed again after diagnosis confirmed a failed DC-DC converter. The dealership has advised the earliest availability of the replacement part is February 19, 2026, resulting in over two months of total vehicle downtime. I have received minimal updates during this time. I reported this issue to Land Rover/JLR but have not received follow-up or resolution. Based on my research, DC-DC converter failure is a known safety issue, and JLR has prior awareness of this defect. This failure presents a serious safety concern due to loss of electrical function while driving, possibly emergency brake issue, along with unreasonable repair delays related to a known issue. I am requesting acknowledgement of this safety concern, clear communication regarding my case, and appropriate assistance due to the extended downtime and still having to pay a monthly car payment/insurance and manufacture warranty just expiring at the 50,000 miles. During a winter storm in approximately 10°F weather, my vehicle became immobilized due to a no-start condition. The starter initially engaged and cranked the engine several times, then failed and would only free-spin without turning the engine. After this occurred, the vehicle could not be shifted into neutral because it is equipped with an electronic shift-by-wire transmission. The only method t
... o move the vehicle requires a proprietary Honda mechanical neutral-release tool (07AAA-TZ3A100). This tool was not supplied with the vehicle, was not available to the owner or responding tow operators, costs over $200, and local Honda dealerships do not carry it in stock. As a result, it was not possible to obtain the tool in an emergency situation. Two flatbed tow trucks responded. Both operators stated the only way to load the vehicle would be to drag it while locked in park, which would likely cause damage to the transmission, drivetrain, or tires. This was not a safe or acceptable option. As a result, occupants were stranded from approximately 1:00 PM until 6:30 PM in 10°F weather with no heat, because the vehicle could not be moved. A single common mechanical failure should not render a vehicle completely immobile with no accessible emergency override. Requiring a costly, proprietary tool that is not provided with the vehicle and not available to dealers or emergency responders creates a serious safety risk due to cold exposure and inability to move or clear the vehicle during emergency conditions.Read more

My vehicle, VIN [XXX] , was operating normally when a check engine light appeared, along with a message indicating engine malfunction and loss of power. I took the vehicle to an authorized Nissan dealership, Reed Nissan Orlando, where I was assisted by service advisor Aaron Berning. At the dealership, I was informed that the vehicle had an active turbocharger recall, which could be related to the
... issue. The recall repair was performed; however, the vehicle was returned to me with the check engine light still illuminated and continued loss of power, despite having no such issues prior to the recall service. The dealership documented an engine problem in writing on the service invoice (Invoice No. XXX, dated 09/04/2025) but refused to repair it, stating that the issue was not covered under the recall. Despite the problem arising immediately after the recall repair, I was required to pay out-of-pocket for a diagnostic inspection. Approximately one week later, the vehicle again experienced engine failure and significant loss of power, making it unusable. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs (Nissan North America), but after reviewing the dealership’s position, Nissan chose to uphold the decision not to cover the repairs. Due to the unresolved mechanical issue, the vehicle became inoperable, causing loss of income, as I rely on the vehicle for work with delivery and rideshare services. I was ultimately unable to continue payments on the financed vehicle, resulting in repossession by the lender. I am submitting this complaint as a last resort and respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and investigated, as the vehicle did not present these issues prior to the recall service.
