The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated, and there was a ticking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where a mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a knock sensor failure. The knock sensor was replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was included in Manufacturer Campa

After the vehicle was repaired, the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated; however, approximately 30 minutes later, the vehicle failed to exceed 35 MPH, and the check engine warning light started flashing. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the software update caused the vehicle to enter LIMP Mode to protect the engine. The dealer informed the contact to drive the vehicle for 30 days or a total of 500 -1000 miles, and if the vehicle continued to enter LIMP Mode or failed to operate as needed, to return the vehicle for the engine to be replaced. There were no additional repairs performed. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.Read more

On January 31, 2026 while driving on the hwy at 75 miles per hour the vehicle started to rattle and it lost propulsion. The DIC indicatd "System Failure" and I had to pull off to the shoulder of the highway. The DIC repeated "System Failure" and that the vehicle needed to be restarted. The vehicle would not restart when attempting to press the brake and restart. This happened on a busy interstate and the safety and well being of my family inside was put at a risk that could have been avoided, likely if the engine would have been replaced in August of 2025. The temperature outside was in the single digits and there was no air pushing through the vehicle while we waited for a tow truck and another family member to pick us up off the highway. There was no warning lights or messages prior to this happening. The vehicle is currenlty undergoing diagnostic testing at a Chevy dealership. This happened at 69,000 miles. This is highly concerning that this could happen in a 95,000 dollar vehicle. This is absolutely a saftey risk. I'm lucky I was able to merge on the interstate in a vehicle that could not maintain the speed with traffic and pull off to the shoulder.Read more

The vehicle was inspected by insurance and they did determine that was the cause of the fire. There were no warnings, we started smelling something and then smoke began coming through the vents. Pulled over and by then the engine bay was on fire and even the fire extinguisher could not put the diesel out and the entire truck was engulfed in flames in a matter of minutes. Ford needs to fix this issue with the placement of their upper fuel filters and should be held accountable to their customers who have suffered loss for this.Read more

See attached document for complaint. Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unresolved Recall and Vehicle Held Since February 2025 To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this letter to formally report significant concerns regarding an unresolved safety recall affecting my Jeep Cherokee. My vehicle has now been held at an authorized dealership since February 2025 due to the lack of an available re

Each time, I am given a new projected month for the remedy to become available. In October I was told November, in November I was told December, and now in December I am being told January. This cycle continues with no definitive solution, effectively leaving me without access to my vehicle for nearly a year. I am also concerned about the extended period of inactivity and the resulting potential for component degradation, including leaky seals, warped rotors, electrical issues, and tire damage. The service department assured me this would not be a concern, but I disagree and believe the prolonged storage may create additional safety issues or repair needs. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter, as the lack of remedy and extended vehicle hold time appears unreasonable and may represent a failure in recall execution. I am submitting this complaint to report a significant and unusual mechanical failure involving my 2021 Ram truck. This failure caused coolant odor and fluid intrusion inside the cabin and required extensive disassembly of the dashboard and HVAC system t

Two separate repair visits were required as it was found after the heater core was replaced the actuator on the driver’s side was damaged by the ongoing leak and required repair. The vehicle has been properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer recommendations. While this incident did not result in an immediate crash or injury, the nature of the failure raises safety and health concerns, including: •Driver distraction due to coolant fumes and loss of defrost capability •Exposure of occupants to engine coolant within the enclosed passenger compartment •Sudden loss of cabin heating and windshield defogging capability in cold weather Given the age of the vehicle and the severity of the failure, this does not appear to be normal wear and tear. I am concerned that this may represent a design, material, or manufacturing defect that could affect other vehicles of the same model year. The odor was present for many months prior to the failure; however, the local dealership could not examine the issue at the time of a prior oil change due to lack of time on that visit.
