The day I purchased the vehicle from the dealer, every warning light began cycling on including the automatic emergency braking failure, engine system failure and others. I immediately took the car back to the dealer and they supposedly repaired it. When the car was returned to me, I drove it for less than a week and the same thing happened again. When the light came on, the car’s auto braking a
... nd cruise control stopped working. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was the head gaskets, which they fixed. When I got the car back again, I drove it for 2 days and it did the same thing again, this time all of the warning codes came on. This time, I had a total engine failure because the timing chain broke. The dealer took almost two months to replace the engine and it cost us almost $6,000. I got the car back last Saturday. Today, driving home from work, the automatic brake system failure warning came on again and the car won’t automatically brake and cruise control wouldn’t work. This is exactly what happened last time. I am afraid to drive this car because I don’t know if the brakes will fail and the system currently isn’t working. We are taking it back to the dealer which will likely cost us more money. We are stuck with this car and cannot get rid of it because we owe more money on it then it is worth because of replacing the engine.Read more

While driving my 2021 Honda CR-V at highway speeds, the steering intermittently binds and becomes difficult to move, creating a dangerous “sticky steering” condition. The steering will momentarily resist normal input, and when I apply additional force to correct it, the wheel suddenly releases, causing the vehicle to jerk or swerve within the lane. This makes it difficult to maintain smooth, c
... ontrolled steering and creates a serious safety concern, especially at higher speeds where precise steering is critical. The condition is unpredictable, unnerving, and significantly affects my confidence in safely operating the vehicle. This defect creates an especially concerning hazard because I frequently transport my two young grandchildren in this vehicle. When the steering binds and then abruptly releases, it compromises my ability to maintain stable lane control and increases the risk of losing control or being involved in a collision. This is not merely an inconvenience—it is a clear safety issue that makes the vehicle feel unsafe to drive. The symptoms my vehicle is experiencing are identical to those described in Recall 24V-744 involving sticky steering in Honda vehicles. Although my VIN is not currently included in that recall, this same defect has been widely reported by other 2021 Honda CR-V owners. I understand the defective steering gearboxes were identified in vehicles produced beginning in February 2021, and my vehicle was manufactured in August 2021, which falls within that timeframe. Based on the identical symptoms and known defect history, I believe my vehicle is affected by the same steering gearbox issue and should be included in the investigation and recall population.Read more

The headgasket failed prematurely at 76,000 miles causing coolant to begin leaking out of the vehicle. The safety of myself and others is put at risk because a head gasket blowing caused the car to lose power on the way home from work which has caused me to have to slow down and not be able to start again. This causes other vehicles to have to break or go around me on the highway. The car is a 202

The vehicle was brought to the Honda Dealership in Lawrence, KS. They showed that the head gasket blew. The Vehicle is available for inspection upon request at the Honda Dealership in Lawrence, Kansas.Read more

Went to park car in a park to drop daughter off and it sputtered out and stalled out of nowhere with no warning. I had received a lamp warning very sporadically prior to this and on occasion that stated 'reduced steering assist drive with care' this resulted in heavy steering for that drive until car was shut off and then it would go away and be fine again, fixed the car through Knudtsen Chevy due
... to a recall about a month before on the issue with the engine being turned off and it thinking it was still hot and still running the fan (even though the car was not running). Knudtsen fixed that issue. Low battery voltage light did not come on however battery was older so had battery installed at park to ensure the issue was not due to the battery. The oil was fresh and showed no issues, changed 2 weeks before fresh oil no issues found during service. When tried to restart the car it would think it would try to start and then sputter out and not stay in idle. Les Schwab left and called a mobile mechanic to bring the computer. Computer was hooked up and it would try to start, however, it would not know it was already running and try to start again on it's own...the codes that came up were the PO101 code came up for Mass Air Flow issue...and then the codes would go in a wild sequence of fail.....mechanic checked for loose connections around air filter, took air filter out and it was clean no issues, checked pipe no visible issues. We walked away and walked around the park to give it some time to sit and then we tried it again and it tried and sputtered out and died again would not stay idling. Then all of a sudden we heard it try to start itself without us trying to start it and it clanked. We hauled it to Knudtsen for a diagnosis. They stated "the motor will not turn this way or that way and it is seized or locked up". This is a 2021 with only 89,000 miles it should have a longer life than this. Please investigate and is there anything we can do to fix it?Read more

Hello. We purchased this 2018 Honda CR-V new in 2018 from the local Honda dealer, Honda of Lake Jackson, TX. In the Spring of 2025 the A/C stopped working. We took it to a local shop and they had to replaced the following: Blower motor replaced, blower motor replaced, A/C evaporator replaced, A/C expansion/orifice valve replaced, Heater core replaced. This was around a $3,000 repair. A month or
... so later in May of 2025 we took the car to the Honda dealer because of steering instability issues. We were advised that the entire Steering Column would need to replaced due to known safety issues (drive shaft can fail completely at highway speeds). The following was repaired at this time: --Rack and pinion replaced, steering gear replaced, valve cover gasket replaced Vehicle was at 61,984 miles at this time. This was a $5,000+ repair. It cost so much that we actually had to take out financing to pay it, which in essence essentially renewed our car payment (car was already paid off at this time). Now for the past 8 months or so we have had a "juddering" issue where you can feel the transmission CTV system jump and jerk as you accelerate to highway speeds. This issue also puts the entire transmission at risk of failure. The Honda dealer here checked the vehicle out and suggested we do a transmission fluid swap. This cost $189 for the "diagnostic fee" and $179 for the swap. So another nearly $400. They did the swap and said that it did not fix the issue and now we need to pay $2800 to have the "Torque convertor" replaced. This is $10,000 plus dollars in repairs, nearly half to cost of the vehicle. This is a ridiculous amount of issues for a vehicle that had only 61,000 miles. We have always had regular maintenance performed also. From what I have read, Honda knows about these issues but has not issued a recall. In addition I've read that "juddering" CTV issue is a known issue in 2015-2018 Honda CR-V's. Needless to say we are not happy with Honda about any of this.Read more

I experienced severe wheel instability on 3/29/2026 at around 630pm on I74 West while traveling on the highway at high speed. I was forced to perform emergency maneuvers to avoid a catastrophic collision, resulted in a terrifying near-miss incident that required an emergency tow to safety. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the lug nuts on the left rear wheel were not properly torqued and were
... dangerously loose as outlined by the tow report below :-----Please see the following service report regarding PO 3166 for a 2025 Infiniti QX80. When we arrived on scene, the customer stated that the vehicle made a sudden jerk and veered unexpectedly while being driven. Before touching or loading the vehicle, we took photos and observed that the left rear wheel appeared to be close to coming off the vehicle. Upon further examination, we found that 3 of the 5 lug nuts had broken off completely. The remaining 2 lug nuts were still in place, but were barely holding.I advised the customer that the safest course of action was to jack the vehicle up and tighten the 2 remaining lug nuts as much as possible in order to reduce the risk of the wheel falling off during loading, unloading, or transport. This was done strictly to help avoid additional body or vehicle damage---: Most critically, my [XXX] child was in the vehicle during this life-threatening event placing my family in immediate catastrophic near miss dangerous event. There is a continual problem with this car. Randomly, about every 1-2 weeks, my entire infotainment center, customer settings, and seat preferences will reset to Italian and the metric system. When this happens, the front collision warning system turns off. The radio screen also begins to flash on and off, where I cannot use the backup camera and audio cuts out. I have had it to my local Jeep deal
... ership about 6 times now, and they are able to reset the system but the problem comes back. I had it there earlier in the week and the technician told me that there is no permanent fix, and that I will be coming back routinely because I am not the only one with this issue.Read more

While driving my 2005 Nissan Altima in active traffic with my [XXX] child, the vehicle suddenly stalled without any warning. The engine completely shut off while in motion, creating an immediately safety hazard in live traffic conditions. Immediately after the stall, I observed oil leakage and smoke entering the cabin. The vehicle became inoperable and we were stranded roadside. This failure is
... consistent with a known defect involving the crankshaft position sensor and engine control system addressed in NHTSA Campaign 07V-527, which describes sudden engine stall without warning due to sensor signal interruption. Although my vehicle previously received recall-related service, this incident suggests the prior remedy did not prevent recurrence of the defect. Sudden engine shutdown while driving in traffic Loss of vehicle power without warning Smoke entering passenger cabin Risk of crash involving child passenger Request: I am requesting that NHTSA: Review this incident for potential recall remedy failure Investigate whether this represents recurrence of a known defect Determine whether additional corrective action is needed for this vehicle population INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
