The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) warning light is lit up on dashboard. Does not go away. Mentioned it to the dealership and I was told having items in the seat could trigger it or if there not enough weight. But even if there nothing or someone in my passenger seat the SRS aways come up.

The occupant detection system for all five rear seats is erratic, frequently reporting seats as occupied and unbuckled when they are empty or folded flat. Once the vehicle reaches 10 mph, audible alerts trigger and recur up to three times for 30 to 60 seconds each, even if no passengers are present. Because these sensors are integral to the restraint system, there is a critical concern that the ai
... rbags may not deploy correctly based on this inaccurate occupancy data. Extremely distracting. First time we noticed: Leaving the chanhassen Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses. We had 4 kids in the vehicle when they were all seated and buckled up and the third row seat (middle) that nobody was sitting in started alarming several times thinking that a passenger was in the and needed to be buckled. This is everyday recurring problem in all 5 rear seats.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?: The auto start stop feature failed, resulting in the vehicle lurching then dieing without any prior indication. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?: The vehicle's lurch and sudden loss of power occurred at a red light when turning left. If I were the first car in line, it would
... have left me in the intersection with a 65 mph speed limit, creating the potential for a significant accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?: No it has not, but was taken to a dealer in the last two weeks for this problem, in which all systems were operating as intended. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others?: Yes it has where the problem could not be identified. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear?: No warning lamp or messages were displayed prior to this safety incident. This is the third occurrence, I made another report on XXX. If needed, I can find the report number Vehicle failed to restart in 5 attempts, on the 6th attempt, the vehicle started but took an extended amount of time compared to normal. COMPONENT: Power Liftgate Control Module (PTG module). Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. WHAT HAPPENED: On approximately April 7, 2026, while driving in rain, a "Power Tailgate Problem" warning appeared on the instrument cluster. Following that event, all powered liftgate operation became permanently inoperable — interior button, exterior button, and key fob all failed. CAUSE:
... An authorized Honda dealer confirmed in writing (service invoice, May 1, 2026): "Power Liftgate Control Unit has corrosion from water leak." The water intrusion originates from defective factory polyurethane seam sealer on the rear drip rail — a known manufacturing defect on 2018-2019 Odysseys documented in Honda TSB MC-10152401. SAFETY RISK: The same water intrusion that destroys the PTG module is documented to cause the liftgate to open unexpectedly while driving, posing a direct hazard to occupants and other motorists. NHTSA is already investigating this issue across 2018-2022 Odysseys. WARNING SYMPTOMS: "Power Tailgate Problem" warning on instrument panel cluster appeared during rain exposure prior to full failure. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: American Honda Motor Co. declined to cover the repair under goodwill despite the dealer-confirmed defect, an active TSB, and an ongoing class action lawsuit (2018-2021 Odysseys) for this exact issue. Honda has not issued a recall. Estimated repair cost: $691 (module) plus body seam repair.Read more

Steering wheel sticks after a period of driving. After 15-20 minutes of driving (especially during warm months), the steering wheel develops a sticky feeling. Instead of smooth corrective steering to maintain the desired direction of travel, the wheel sticks and jerks free only when I apply enough force, which causes the wheel to turn farther than needed, over-correcting the vehicle direction, whi
... ch then needs to be corrected in the opposite direction. The jerky movement causes erratic car movement, instead of predictable, deliberate changes in direction, not to mention that it's simply distracting - bringing my focus into the car (to the steering wheel) instead of my surroundings (road and other traffic). It started at maybe 130,000 miles? No engine codes or lights on the dashboard. I haven't had a dealer visit yet because it's 45 minutes away and it's hard to justify time off work for a car that still gets me from one place to another.Read more

When driving down a state highway in town, about 40-45mph, with no cars or objects in front of me and within the lanes - aka nothing unusual - my dash lit up with the orange "BRAKE!" warning and then slammed on my brakes. I had no idea at the time that my vehicle could even do that, as I'd had it at least three years and, while I'd had false warnings because of a line on the road or something, it
... had never done that. Luckily, there were not cars close behind me, because it was disorienting and took a moment to realize what was happening and adjust my driving to correct it. It was incredibly concerning, and I searched for what feature would even do that and how I could turn it off. I've told many people about it since, as it's the kind of thing that makes using "safety features" of a vehicle untrustworthy, let alone what could've happened had there been cars behind me at that moment.Read more

The issue involves the driver’s-side blind spot monitoring system. In my experience, the system does not recognize or alert me to vehicles approaching from behind in the adjacent lane until they are nearly even with the driver’s door. In many situations, the blind spot warning light does not illuminate while a vehicle is occupying what most drivers would reasonably consider the blind spot area
... . Instead, the alert often appears only after the vehicle is already alongside my vehicle. This creates a significant safety concern. The purpose of a blind spot monitoring system is to provide advance warning of vehicles approaching from behind before a lane change is initiated. When the system does not recognize a vehicle until it is already beside the driver’s door, the warning is delayed to the point that it provides limited practical value in helping prevent a collision. I have discussed this concern with Honda dealership personnel and have been advised that the system is operating as designed and that there is no repair, adjustment, or calibration available to improve its performance. While I appreciate their efforts, I find it concerning that a safety-related feature may be functioning exactly as intended while still failing to provide what I believe is adequate advance warning for drivers. As a driver, I would expect the system to provide earlier notification when another vehicle is occupying the adjacent lane and approaching from the rear.Read more

Last week, I opened my vehicle door and noticed water standing in the foot well. I didn't think too much of it until I started driving down the street and gallons of water were gushing on my feet in the footwell from behind the steering wheel and fuse box. I parked and waited for it to dry out a few days. I took my vehicle to the dealer and was shocked to hear that this is caused because the s
... unroof has a drainage system, and when the primary drain clogs, due to pollen or dirt, the secondary drain drains directly into the driver footwell. They advised that this is an issue that disregards vehicle age and sunroof non-use. Because this is a new vehicle, all of my basic maintenance and inspections have been provider by the Honda dealer. I asked why this had not been inspected on my previous service appointments and was told the primary drain for the sunroof can only be inspected by camera. It is only when the primary drain becomes clogged that the water dumps into the driver side footwell. I searched my owner manual and found nothing to indicate or require that the primary sunroof drain should be inspected, cleaned or serviced, at any of the maintenance intervals, and especially not during the first 2 years of ownership. The steering column, fuse box, and driver footwell house all of the necessary electrical and mechanical parts for steering, braking, acceleration, lighting and all other electrical systems controls. Additionally, if this were to happen while driving, the distraction to the driver could be catastrophic. My vehicle has been at the dealer for a week to clear the clog in the primary sunroof drain, remove the seat and carpet to dry, & inspect the electric systems including the power seat. I can make the vehicle available for inspection as needed and the dealer can provide the camera inspection that diagnosed the issue. This happened due to everyday dust and pollen, and there was no advance warning that this drain failure was imminent.Read more
