My 2018 Honda HR-V had the federally-mandated Safety Recall 24-015 (Fuel Pump Motor replacement) performed on August 16, 2025 at Honda Westborough, Westborough, MA. The vehicle had zero EVAP-related issues or warning lights before that recall work. Approximately 9 months later, in May 2026, a parking alert and check engine light appeared on the dash. I brought the vehicle back to the same dealers
... hip. The technician retrieved diagnostic codes P0455 (large EVAP leak) and P0456 (small EVAP leak), performed a smoke test, and confirmed the leak was coming specifically from the FUEL PUMP MOTOR AREA - the exact same location where the recall work had been performed. The technician's own notes state: "confirmed leak coming from the fuel pump motor area." After replacing the O-ring and lock ring, the leak persisted at the same spot. A new fuel pump assembly (part# 17045-T7X-A02) was ultimately installed to resolve it. Honda Westborough charged me $1,676.61 for this repair, including $870.50 in labor and $724.83 in parts. When I contacted American Honda Customer Relations, they declined to reimburse me, stating the repair was unrelated to the recall. I strongly dispute this. The recall involved opening the fuel pump housing to replace the motor. The subsequent EVAP leak was confirmed by smoke test to originate at that exact location. No such issues existed before the recall. This is a direct causal connection. Other Honda owners on public forums (HR-V Forum, CivicX Forum) have reported identical P0455/P0456 EVAP leaks appearing within days or months of the same recall being performed, suggesting a systemic issue with the recall repair procedure, specifically, improper resealing of the fuel pump housing after motor replacement. I am requesting: 1. An investigation into whether the Recall 24-015 repair procedure is causing downstream EVAP system failures. 2. Honda be required to reimburse owners who incurred repair costs caused by improper recall workmanship.Read more

After using the lane assist the steering wheel becomes sticky when I turn it off. Then if I turn it back on letting the lane assist correct my driving to turning it back off when turning around corners my steering wheel becomes really sticky. ... corners anymore (so then I can’t use my lane assist without my steering wheel getting sticky again) it really makes me worried. I don’t know if it’s connected but it makes me feel unsafe. When getting a hold of the dealership, they told me that I had to pay $150 to get a diagnostic because I didn’t have any active recalls. Which I think is a little crazy considering I keep reading about all these recalls about sticky steering wheels, but not specifically mine even though I’m experiencing the same thing they are. I’ve talked to somebody about three different times about recalls on this and they just keep saying that I don’t have a recall, but I’m telling them about what I’m experiencing is similar to people with active recalls, but they will still charge me a diagnostic fee that I can’t afford. And tells me I’m not in warranty. So my safety is at risk.. I have children in this car. I have pets in this car and I have family in this car…..Read more

My wife and I spent the past 10 days putting approximately 2,300 miles on our 2018 CRV while vacationing. On the first day of our vacation I noticed that the steering wheel would get stuck in a certain position which needed a slight push to unstick the wheel, this occurred after about 600 miles. This stick and unstick process happened every time I needed to make a small adjustment to my steering.
... It happened about 20 - 30 times a minute. As you can imagine driving for over 28 hours in 10 days I was quite frustrated with this tug of war. Many times this added nudge to turn the wheel would cause an over steer requiring a corrective steer in the opposite direction. This oversteering caused me to swerve within the lane that I was trying to stay within. I called my local dealer to make an appointment, I was told that I could drop the car off in a couple of days and it would take them 2 to 3 to get to it. Once they get to it, it would cost over $100 to diagnose the problem then they can estimate the cost of the repair. I need my car I can't drop it off for 2 or 3 days. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer, the vehicle components have not been inspected by anyone. And there were no warning lamps or messages displayed during this failure.Read more

1. Component/System: HVAC evaporator core. Total loss of climate control. Vehicle is a 2018 model. Prior to this, it had the known AC condenser defect covered under TSB 19-091. The condenser was repaired under warranty, but the AC loop continued to have underlying issues. Failed evaporator available for inspection. For the 2018 Honda Civic specifically, there are over 600+ total consumer complaint
... s filed with the NHTSA, and the overwhelming majority are dedicated exclusively to the failing air conditioning system. 2. Safety Risk: Immediate safety hazard from extreme environmental exposure. In regional desert temperatures exceeding 115°F-118°F, the complete loss of cabin cooling creates a severe risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration, and heat-induced physical impairment for the driver while operating the vehicle on public roads. Additionally, during high humidity, the system emits a chemical-smelling mist/vapor from the vents causing an acute burning sensation in the driver’s eyes. 3. Reproduced/Confirmed: Yes. Right Honda (Scottsdale, AZ) inspected the vehicle and confirmed the evaporator leak on 07/11/2025. I have also observed the chemical mist/vapor emission, which was corroborated by a witness while driving in California. 4. Inspected by Others: Reviewed by Right Honda service department. Escalated to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Case #16391364). Despite 5 years of ownership and previous failures in the same AC loop, the manufacturer refuses to cover the repair of this systemic defect. 5. Warning Lamps/Symptoms: No dashboard warning lamps. Initial symptoms began at ~59,857 miles with a gradual decline in AC performance, degrading to total loss of cooling at idle. Most recently, during high humidity, the system began emitting a chemical-smelling mist from the air vents, which causes a burning sensation in the eyes upon contact.Read more

Pulled off my street to go to work, and the car engine started hesitating, misfiring and losing power. I turned around and was able to get it to a safe location, but had to have it towed to the dealership. Dealership ran codes said it was a bad injector issue and quoted me $2,600 to replace all 4. My Accord just turned 9 and has had all recommended services done. This is my 4th Honda and have n
... ever had any fuel injector issues with prior cars. My car is not showing as part of the recall for this, but it should be because they are defective. If I had not turned around, a semi could have hit me as I was in an industrial area, because the car all of a sudden lost power. This is an extreme safety issue and should be recalled.Read more

My local Honda dealership inspected my CRV on 6.3.26 after my complaint of "sticky steering." They said the steering gearbox needs to be replaced at a cost of $4,000 +. Some CRVs (1.7 million) have been recalled for this, but my VIN number is not included. The mileage on this vehicle is 62,973. I am afraid to drive this vehicle because the steering is unreliable. Incident date: Jun 10, 2026
The vehicle's steering wheel gets stuck in place causing jerkiness while driving at medium to fast highway speeds. The steering wheel does not return to center automatically and you have to "break" the steering wheel loose from it's stuck position. The constant stuck position of the steering wheel causes distrust in the vehicle and that it will be ultimately stuck in a position to cause an acci
... dent. It also poses a risk that the vehicle can start veering in an unwanted direction and an overcorrection can also cause an accident. The vehicle can be inspected upon request. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, it also has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or others, but I have researched this issue with similar Honda vehicles and it seems to be a very common issue that needs to have an official recall issued for and fixed by Honda.Read more

Vehicle (31,000 miles) exhibits sticky steering or notchy steering near the straight-ahead position. At highway speeds, the steering wheel resists small steering corrections and then breaks free, causing overcorrection. The condition requires constant micro-corrections to maintain lane position. I first noticed the problem around 10,000 miles. I turned off the LKAS system off. It appears to be get
... ting worse. I called the Honda of Ft Myers dealer service dept (Adrian) and he informed there was a recall on this issue in later models that did not include my year. His only advice was to bring it in. Tires are new, properly inflated, and vehicle has recently been aligned. The symptom appears to originate within the electric power steering system. Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety will be at risk if issue continues to worsen. No warning lamps. Thank YouRead more

While driving a 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid, the vehicle has intermittently and without warning lost the ability to accelerate. When this occurs, depressing the accelerator pedal — even fully to the floor — produces no response, and the vehicle simply coasts and loses speed. This has happened on three occasions — January 13, 2025; December 16, 2025; and June 10, 2026 — including at highway spee
... d. Each occurrence is documented by a Honda dealer service invoice. In each instance, the check engine light began flashing immediately before the loss of power. The only way to restore normal operation was to bring the vehicle to a stop, turn the ignition off, wait, and restart. Restarting restores power but also clears the check engine light and any stored diagnostic trouble codes. Safety risk: Losing motive power without warning, particularly at highway speed or while merging in traffic, creates a serious risk of a rear-end or loss-of-control collision, because the vehicle cannot accelerate out of danger. The affected systems appear to be the power train and hybrid propulsion system, possibly originating from the engine given the flashing check engine light, which typically indicates an active engine misfire. The exact failed component has not been confirmed (UNKNOWN). The problem has NOT been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer during inspection. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealer for each occurrence, but because restarting the vehicle clears the fault codes, the dealer found no stored codes and could not duplicate the failure during a test drive. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This matches NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE25016 regarding intermittent loss of motive power in MY 2020–2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid vehicles.Read more

Given the age of the vehicle, it should not have battery or starter issues this early on in the lifecycle of the vehicle. Looking online, other 2025 Honda odyssey drivers have posted similar issues. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but lately I have been having more frequent occurrences. A recall must be issued on the battery/starter to prevent future accident that is just waiting to happen. Being stranded in an intersection is incredibly unsafe.Read more

This event has happened multiple times in various situations. While sitting at a red light the auto idle stop feature was engaged and the engine turned off as normal. Upon lifting my foot off the brake, the car fails to restart leaving me stranded in the middle of the intersection. This caused an unsafe situation as I was unable to restart the vehicle until after a few tries, leaving cars having t

In November 2025, my 2021 Honda Pilot started experiencing stalling while driving, hesitation when accelerating, and sudden power loss while idling. I took the vehicle to my local Homda dealership and each time they dismissed the problem, indicating that they could not find any issues. On 4/24/26, the vehicle experienced sudden engine failure in the middle of moving traffic. There were no warn
... ing lights or dashboard messages leading to the issue. The vehicle was towed to the local Honda dealership, where they kept the vehicle for a month and charged over $20,000 for a repair (not replacement). Ten (10) days after picking up the vehicle from the dealership, the engine locked and seized again on 6/9/26 in the middle of traffic and nearly caused a serious accident with 3 other vehicles.Read more

The front camera behind the rear view mirror comes up with code and the cruise control will not work and the lane departure system and the forward Collision system and adaptive cruise control. The front camera issue can only be repaired by replacing the camera between 800 and 1500 cost to purchase the camera plus a 5 to $700 Adas aiming at the dealership and I don't feel that that's correct being
... that almost every single Honda Odyssey I've touched in my repair shop from 2018 till current has this code coming up. Sometimes I can put a scan tool on the vehicle and clear out the code and do a dynamic aim and the vehicle will correct itself but it will come back relatively quickly and sometimes it's impossible and the camera needs to be changed before anything can be done and all of those systems are deactivated until the front forward facing camera has been replaced. I am a mechanic I service a lot of these Honda Odysseys I have a list of items that I find almost every single one has a problem with this particular vehicle I'm sending in about is my personal vehicle and it has had numerous issues that had nothing to do with the operators of the vehicle solely to do with quality of the vehicle front camera is one the sliding door cable housing collapsing too the rear shocks snapping apart at under 50,000 miles front strut mounts going bad at 60,000 miles. There's also an issue with the driver's seat belts fraying in my car in particular frayed in under 12,000 miles More troubling is that every customer I send to the dealer to get things repaired under warranty comes back weather repaired or not without a single item being recorded by the dealer invariably what ends up happening is the dealer will reset some parameter and make the message or error go away. They will then return the car without any documentation stating anything. Once the customer brings it back after warranty is up the dealer charges to replace a repair because the customer has no proof of prior complaintRead more

The second and third row seats do not recognize when passengers are exiting the vehicle. All second and third row seats cause the seat belt warning to go off multiple times even when there are not passengers in the vehicle. Car in park does not mitigate this problem.
