On 7/15/2021 I bought a 2009 VRSCAW Harley Davidson motorcycle on ebay (Order Number: 25-07316-82931) in Monterey, CA. Needed to deliver in Dublin, Ohio. A Mr Thomas Dobson Responsible and driver of the carrier Crawl Transportation located at 105 N Nixon St, Landisville, NJ 08326, informing that he was ready to pick up the motorcycle through the uShip app ( ID#720860097), offered by ebay, uShip co
... st $880.23 to deliver to Dublin, OH, including insurance for the value of the motorcycle for an insurance charge of $75.05 (Reference Number 42214154). . Crawl Transportation picked up the motorcycle in California on 07/25/2021. It was delivered to Ohio on 05/08/2021. On the day of delivery, the motorcycle was damaged, the driver Mr. Thomas Dobson from Crawl Transportation claimed that during the trip there was an accident, that in the change of space the motorcycle fell from the truck and that he was sorry for what happened, but that he would send all insurance information to cover any loss. As soon as I received the insurance information, I left the motorcycle at the service department of Farrow Harley Davidson Service Advisor on 08/26/2021, for the care of Mr Scott Grossman to get a quote of what was damaged. As soon as the quote was made by Farrow Harley Davidson Service Advisor where they got in touch with the insurer named, NEXT FIRST INSURANCE AGENCY,INC. in the responsibility of agent Mrs Rachele Lopez, to authorize the repair of the motorcycle, I sent photos before and after the accident, proving that it was damaged during the trip. On 19/11/2021, NEXT FIRST INSURANCE AGENCY,INC sent a letter stating that it was not possible to cover this loss since the insurance company does not cover this type of transport. I would like to know if there is a possibility to claim the repair of the motorcycle damaged by the carrier!Read more

I was riding on the highway at 60 mph and all of a sudden the back suspension felt very hard. When I stopped I found both rear shock mounting bolts had sheared off causing my frame to collapse onto the tire. The left shock completely separated from the frame at the top rotating down. The right shock stay somewhat in position because the sheared bolt jammed into the seat. The rear fender liter
... ally was rubbing on the rotating tire and that destroyed the rear wiring harness that is routed under the rear fender. In addition, the bolt breakage bent the shock absorber shafts. Fortunately, the tire did not lock up perhaps due to the jammed right sheared bolt. If it had, I would have lost the bike at 60 mph and crashed. I had the bike towed to my house where I took pictures and replaced the bolts with grade 8 bolts, purchased and replaced the rear shocks and repaired the wiring harness. I discussed with issue with two Harley Davidson dealers shortly after the incident and they said they never heard of this situation. Other details. Only 20,000 miles on the bike, no suspension modifications, only single person riding. No heavy loads or abusive riding over the life of the bike. Issue occurred August 12, 2020. Only getting to this after finding out about this site through a friend.Read more

I bought a 2016 Harley Street Glide Special in Dec. of 2021. The 2nd time I rode it, I was driving to work on a busy highway and with no warning, I lost the throttle (it went into what appears to be called Limp Mode. When you're on the highway doing 70 with cars doing the same or more, it's not safe to instantly have no throttle. I've read that it is supposed to be a safety feature, but it seem
... s more hazardous to me than safe. I pulled over, waited a few minutes, then restarted it, and it was fine, for a while. Then a few days later, it did it again when I was sitting at a stop light. I turned the bike off, started it when the light turned green, and thankfully, it was fine. Recently, I rode it to work, and it did it again as I was pulling into the parking lot at work. While it was annoying, it wasn't that big of a deal. I basically idled it to my parking spot. Then, on the way home, it did it 3 times. Twice on the busy highway that I mentioned earlier and once on a crowded city street with no shoulder. Luckily, I was approaching an apartment complex when it happened, so I was able to pull in and not be stuck in the middle of the road. I have read that Harley is aware of the issue, because I've learned that this is not a rare thing. I feel like there should be a recall to correct this before someone gets seriously hurt or killed, if they haven't already. *No, I have not "Confirmed" this with a dealer. *No, the bike has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance rep. *When the issue occurs, the check engine light comes on, but not before it does it. There is no warning for you to start getting over and move towards the shoulder. You just have to hope that you are not in the left lane of 3 or 4 lanes when it hits, because you just might get run over if you are.Read more

Thank god it didn't happen while I was riding the practically new motorcycle I had less than 6 months. After a ride, I parked the motorcycle, then when ready to ride again I started the motor and grabbed the clu

That said, it is a serious safety concern. I have barely 1,000 miles on the motorcycle which is a 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 FXBBS On another note, The kickstand paint has already chipped off and rusted. The rims/wheels have visible rust in the spokes already as well. Another concern is the rear brake requires adjustment when new to get more leverage to work and it still feels very spongy and does not slow well on it's own. This is a common complaint I have read about online as well.Read more

I purchased this bike brand new from Superstition Harley Davidson in 2021. I noticed early on when riding on a straight freeway that the front end seemed to lean right. At first, I thought this was an optical allusion. Upon close inspection, I noticed that the fairing was tweaked to the left and actually rubbed on the clutch hydraulic line. (almost like someone from the factory or the dealer tried
... compensating for the front end "twist"). I took the bike in under warranty and requested that they properly align every thing up. They aligned the fairing of equal distance on both sides of the handlebars and is no longer rubbing on the clutch hydraulic clutch line. This exasperated the problem as now it REALLY appears that everything leans to the right. Harley Davidson Factory Rep told me that sometimes when the forks are "torqued down" during assembly that they will sometimes "twist" to some degree and that there was no adjustment available. That this issue is NOT a defect and that that's just "how it is" with some of these bikes. The Service Manager told me they are almost all like that. I asked if any bikes are actually level and straight. He said some were. I said I want one of those. Now I can't seem to "un see" this while riding. If this is a "common issue" with Harley Davidson, this seems like a defect to me. It seems like this could be dangerous.Read more

At about 3 PM on June 26, 2021 I was going south on Route 131 a mile past the junction with Route 73. There are four long sweeping turns after the junction. I’ve traveled that road on motorcycles hundreds of times. It was clear dry and sunny. The road repaved three months ago is very smooth. Luckily there was no close by following or approaching traffic. Then when I was about halfway through the first left-hand turn I suddenly realized with alarm that the motorcycle was no longer turning at all. Instead it was beginning to quickly accelerate and consequently becoming upright rather than slightly leaned over and it headed directly ahead off the road into the woods. I shut off the throttle but it kept accelerating, so I applied the brakes hard. The motorcycle only slightly slowed down. The hard braking caused steering wobble and then a full tank slapper. The motorcycle went down onto the pavement with me trapped under it. Its momentum carried it away from me as I saw it go further down the road. If this had occurred going straight down the road there would have been time to sort things out and either pull in the clutch or turn off the rocker power switch or both. But in the actual circumstances of mid-turn at 45 miles an hour I was initially stunned and couldn't believe what was happening. My thought was "This bike is no longer making a turn." There are multiple instances - including 5 fatalities and 22 injuries on record - of the same Dunlop D402 tire I had on my Harley. No warnings whatsoever.
