MY 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON ULTRA CLASSIS ELETRA GLIDE REAR PULLEY BOLTS SHEARED OF COMPLETELY INSIDE THE WHEEL. THE BIKE HAS BEEN MAINTAINED WELL ABOVE HARLEY DAVIDSON REQUIREMENTS. THE BIKE HAS ONLY 18,000 MILE AND HAD ALREADY HAD THE 20,000 MILE SERVICE COMPLETED. I HAD SPOKE WITH HARLEY AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING AND CLAIM IT IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM ALSO OCCURRED ON MY 2008 MODEL (OF THE SAME MODEL MOTORCYCLE), AND I AM AWARE OF SIMILAR ISSUES ON THE 2011 CROSS BONES MODEL (WHICH SHARES A SIMILAR REAR FENDER/TAIL LAMP DESIGN). THESE MOTORCYCLES ARE MANUFACTURED AND SOLD BOTH IN THE USA AND THE 'INTERNATIONAL' MARKET, WHOSE VERSIONS HAVE IDENTICAL COMPONENTS IN THIS AREA. I BOUGHT A 2010 MODEL (NEW) DUE TO MULTIPLE REPETITIVE FAILURES OF THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD DESCRIBED ABOVE ON THE 2008 MODEL CAUSED BY THE SAME ISSUES OF WATER INGRESS, AND WITHIN WEEKS THE SAME PROBLEM HAD APPEARED ON THE 2010 VEHICLE. I HAVE OWNED A HARLEY DAVIDSON V-ROD SINCE 2009 AND EVER SINCE I RECEIVED THE MOTORCYCLE THE FUEL GAUGE CONSTANTLY OVER AND UNDER ESTIMATES THE FUEL IN THE TANK. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS EVER TRULY AN ISSUE WAS WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND AFTER 50 MILES THE GAUGE SAID EMPTY. I HAD JUST FILLED UP AND TYPICALLY GET 210 MILES OUT OF A TANK OF GAS. AT MILE MARKER 356 THE REAR TIRE SUDDENLY DEFLATED CAUSING THE BIKE TO FISHTAIL VIOLENTLY. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. I ATTEMPTED TO EASE THE BIKE INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE TO AVOID POSSIBLE COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I LOST CONTROL AND MY WIFE AND I WERE THROW

AND FOR HIM TO TAKE THE BIKE TO NRHD FOR AN EVALUATION INSPECTION. WELL MY HUSBAND CONTACTED NEW RIVER HARLEY DAVIDSON WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT TELL HIM WHETHER OR NOT THOSE BOLTS HAD BEEN CHECKED AT ALL BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT LISTED AS CRITICAL FASTENERS IN THE HARLEY DAVIDSON SERVICE MANUAL .AT LEAST 13 OTHER NEWER BIKES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. 2010 HARLEY DAVIDSON ULTRA CLASSIC REAR BRAKE QUIT WORKING. REAR BRAKE HAD COMPLETE PEDAL PRESSURE BUT WOULD NOT STOP THE MOTORCYCLE. I HAVE A 2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON VRSCB V-ROD; MY GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AND GIVES FALSE READINGS ALL THE TIME, TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THERE IS NO RESERVE TANK ON THE V-ROD.
