Brake/traction system inoperable and fails to properly engage during normal driving conditions with variations ranging from: minimally uneven, minimally wet or minimally bumpy surface. When applying the brakes in these circumstances, the vehicle shakes violently while continuing to proceed forward. This has happened when braking at all speeds and as low as under 20mph. My family has narrowly escap
... ed injury and death on multiple seperate occasions from running off of the road, to rear ending another vehicle, to sliding up through busy traffic intersections. We feel unsafe to drive/ride in this vehicle as we feel like we are playing Russian Roulette. This issue was previously communicated to the service dept at local Hyundai dealership but they were not able to find/replicate issue. I have videos now for proof. There have been no warning lights or other messages that would identify any issue with the vehicle.Read more

When driving, I get random flashing lights on the Dashboard with a Warning indicator: ”Check Hybrid system. Stop safely”. It happened at least on 7 occasions while driving at high speed on a highway and while stopped at a traffic light. When the issue happens, the car triggers aggressive Warning sounds forcing me to stop on the side of the road, placing the car into Park and having to turn the
... vehicle off. On every occasion, the vehicle appears to have corrected itself after being shutoff. In all cases while driving on a highway, the issue happened when driving on gas mode (not EV) and the RPM’s show 0.0 for more than 2 minutes. In the cases when I am stopped at a traffic light, the car is in EV mode and RPM’s are fluctuating. There should not be any RPMs when stopped. Due to theses multiples dangerous situations while driving, I took it to the dealership to get fixed ASAP. On October 5th 2024, Coral Springs Kia (dealer) accepted my car with same complaint mentioned on this letter, and they told me that this is a known issue, that another Kia owner came earlier that day with exactly the same problem. The dealer issued the service invoice# [XXX]- miles in 10636/miles out 10649-, stating: “Code 10643 Inspected the customer concern by checking the engine performance. Found the vehicle performance normal and no warning symbol came on when performing a long road test. Check for DTC and found no codes within the system, found the vehicle operating normal and was unable to duplicate customer concern”. After retrieving my car from the dealership on October 5th 2024, I continued to have the exact same scenario of Warning indicators. Since [XXX], the issue has happened at least 3 more times. This is clearly a glitch on the PHEV system and very dangerous to deal with, mostly when you are driving in a highway on high speed. A simple Google search indicates that is a known a common complaint from Kia owners. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6Read more

After reading of other owners of similar and identical models like mine having frame cracks, I made a point to inspect my trailer’s I beam chassis and I discovered horizontal cracks within the I beam, one on each side, over the suspension area. Every picture I have seen looks just like mine, a rusty L shaped crack adjacent to a crossmember welded on the backside of this area. You can see the sha
... pe of this crossmember through the surface of the I beam, indicating the metal is quite thin. It took me only a couple minutes to find, as I knew exactly where to look, based on the numerous stories I’ve read about. Upon further inspection, I also found suspect welds that look burned through the frame, leaving a hole behind. This makes me question the quality of the rest of the trailer’s frame. There is also a crossmember at the front of the trailer with a distinct bend in it at the bottom, where the top remains fairly straight. This, to me, is another indication that the frame is flexing and causing this member to fold as a result. After discovering this, I later learned many other owners have the same issue, and one had a complete A frame failure in that area. Also, I have discovered that all four of my trailer’s leaf springs are flattening out, and they remain this way with all personal items removed from the unit. As it sits now, it is within a handful of pounds of the original purchase weight, and the leafs have not sprung back. We have an appointment scheduled directly with the manufacturer in Indiana to have these issues repaired, among a laundry list of less safety related issues we’ve experienced since ownership. We’ve known of these major issues since August of 2024 and have waited 6 months for our appointment for repairs. We have declined from using this trailer during this time as we don’t have confidence that it can safely be towed. I am to understand, the wait time is due to a large influx of other trailers being brought in for major repair.Read more

I advised the dealership that all of the warning lights came on after backing out and putting my car in drive. The vehicle completely stalled out. The engine light was on. The vehicle had been at the dealership at least two other occasions (with no indication from the vehicle that there was an issue, no lights, no codes, no messages) and drove "like other vehicles of the same year, make and mod
... el". On this instance, the vehicle fully stalled and all of the lights were on, upon arrival at the dealership they located a code which indicated there was a short and they needed to replace the low side fuel pressure sensor. Luckily this occurred in a parking lot, rather than on a main road. The vehicle having shown no lights or codes prior is concerning, as it seems this was a developing issue and it wasn't until it escalated to fully stalling out that the computer system was alerting to an issue. This had previously been at the dealership 10/2020 and 5/2021 for the same issue (without any indication from the vehicle), and this final escalation occurred 9/2021.Read more

Report of RV cracked frame and other structural failure 2021 GRAND DESIGN TRANSCEND XPLOR 297QB CA [XXX] VIN [XXX] Purchased: [XXX] Summary of problems reported: - Cracked frame - Caved slide-out - Collapsed fridge cabinet in slideout, and deformed slide-out. - Tire worn out unevenly, with no thread in the inside (only) History summary: July 2023, when tires cupped or separated: so new tires
... installed. September-November 2023: inquired about alignment, but dealers and manufacturers said that alignment is not done in trailers. Camping World finds brakes of one side only worn out. July 2024: Fridge in slide-out cabinet collapses. Slideout is deformed, caved and rubs ground. One tire is completely worn out near the inside wall only. September-November 2024. Bounced around between dealers, Grand Design, and suppliers about the problem December 2024. Finally the dealer inspected the frame and detected that it is not just out of square measurements, but it is cracked. They reported that: - The RV is unsafe to drive - They can not fix the frame - To contact Grand Design about the warranty - They would not want the RV to sit in their lot for much longer. Grand Design has bounced again to Lippert, frame manufacturer, and they are not responding. Given the way Grand Design has constantly responded to my reports and warranty requests, related to the tire wearing, slide out collapse, and finally the frame found cracked, I have a strong reason to believe that the frame was damaged July 2023 or earlier, and Grand Design bounced back to me, or deflected my reported problems to suppliers, instead of indicating in first place to inspect the frame, and knowing that there was the potential of severe security risks. I can report extensive documentation and photos. Thank you for your attention. Multiple systems failed on this unit. Trailer Brake failure—The rear trailer brake wires were discovered to be severed inside the wheel drum from the factory. For the first year of use they were inoperable. This was suspected and confirmed with a thermal camera. The tow vehicle also alarmed “Check trailer brakes” while driving. A dealer inspected them and found the wires severed. This was
... repaired. Suspension failure—the rear driver side leaf spring broke on a paved highway 9 months after purchase. Pulled over immediately to inspect the issue and repair it. On 2 other separate occasions, we found broken wet bolts (after the unit was sitting in one place, unmoved for weeks). Also a cracked equalizer was replaced under warranty within the first year. The front passenger side leafspring also broke on an empty unit. Frame Failure & opening baggage compartment doors, slide out backing out in transit—symptoms of excessive upperdeck flex and frame failure began immediately upon purchase. Baggage compartment doors frequently open in transit. This has been a significant safety risk to the operator as well as other drivers. On more than one occasion the doors open in dense traffic in the middle of a city with nowhere to safely pull over. None of the contents of the compartment has fallen out to our knowledge, but could very easily fall out since none of the doors can be adequately secured. One door was replaced, but the issue not resolved. Upon further inspection, there were severely broken welds in the frame of the unit. The unit has sustained over 22 hours of welding on it to repair and reinforce the damaged frame. However, this has been repaired a total of 3 separate times. There is no guarantee that the repairs will hold moving forward. Also a result of the broken frame, the slide out began backing out in transport. Before leaving, the slide out was fully retracted and measured. Upon arrival the slide would be backed out 0.5-1” from the pre-departure measuremenRead more

While trailering our 42 foot 5th wheel down [XXX] in Florida I looked out my sideview mirrors and found the forward aspect of our passenger side opening into traffic during travel. I have also had to add external straps to bay doors as they have opened up during travel. All of these items are available for inspection. I am trying to get the slide fixed today as it is an integral part of our living
... space, and we cannot travel with the slide inoperative. By having these items open up during travel there is danger to passing by vehicles, as well as those behind us during travel, as items or slide parts could fall out onto the road. As occupants, we are in danger due to forward focus on travel being interrupted and in the case of a slide moving out, there is a weight distribution change. There are components of the slides that have broken over past few months for reasons unknown. They have always functioned for us until this last road trip when we were caught off guard by the slide opening on its own accord during travel on freeway. On my way to work my car stalled while being driven. I lost the ability to maintain my speed and my car decelerated to a stop in the lane of traffic. The car would not move forward and would not start after it was turned off. I was stopped in the right lane of traffic on a four lane highway during morning rush-hour traffic. A police officer had to remain behind my car in the lane of traffic with t
... heir lights on until a tow truck arrived to prevent an accident. My car could not be moved due to the high rate of speed of the cars traveling around it and cars had to merge quickly into the open lane. There were several near accidents while waiting for the tow truck. There were no warning signs or messages that the car had an issue. The mechanic the car was towed to believes the problem is with the fuel gauge and stated they had recently repaired several cars with this issue that were the same or similar base model and year as my car. When inspected the car was found to be out of fuel and, after fuel was added to the car, the cars computer system showed a higher amount of fuel then was put into the car. At the time of the incident, the car showed three or four bars of fuel left on the dashboard fuel display and about 40 miles until empty on the digital display range. The police officer at the scene observed the that the car was showing that it was not out of fuel. The component or system is available for inspection upon request. This issue is similar to a previously repaired recall that effected this car with the fuel pump which stated that the car could be prevented from starting or cause a vehicle to stall while being driven, increasing the risk of a crash. The car is regularly maintained, kept in good working condition, and is mainly used to travel to and from work.Read more

Case #: [XXX] ] I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) that I have owned for 8 years. Throughout this period, I have encountered some minor issues that were easily remedied. ... : part number 20842710. Furthermore, I was told that this part number has been discontinued and no longer available. I contacted Cadillac customer care and spoke to customer service rep Alegra 866-790-5600 at extension 5918222 and she gave me a list of suppliers who may have this part. Again, I was told that this part was discontinued. The parts department had to go to the aftermarket to see if they could locate this part. It was found on eBay. I was told that the part could be installed but there is NO guarantee that it would work. I was left with no choice but to have the part installed knowing that I would be driving an unsafe vehicle that could malfunction at any time. As stated earlier this vehicle is about 8 years and what I do not understand is why Cadillac would stop production on such a critical part that could cause physical harm to its passengers. In doing some investigating I found the Cadillac Forum in which other owners experience the same problem. I have owned 4 Cadillacs over the last 9 years and for the most part I have been very happy with their performance. It appears to me that Cadillac should take some responsibility and compensate me for not producing a safe vehicle to drive. The trade in value according to Kelley Blue. Book is $14,000 and therefore, I should be reimbursed accordingly On December 12, 2024, I received a phone call from Scranton Motors advising me that the part that they had received from eBay did not work. Therefore, I cannot operate this vehicle and it is totally useless. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Case #: [XXX] ] I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) that I have owned for 8 years. Throughout this period, I have encountered some minor issues that were easily remedied. On [XXX], I started my car and some warning light came on. •The ABS light •The power steering light •The anti-skid traction light I contacted Scranton Motors in Vernon, CT and was told I had a faulty brake module

This unit is suffering from frame failure. Cargo doors have started opening on the freeway, cabinets are rubbing the wallpaper from frame flex, the forward floor has started squeaking, the forward lower exterior trim panel on the drivers' side is buckling, the forward walls have started creaking and popping when hitching up/unhitching and the pin-box "sinks" more than it ever did in the past when
... hitching up. I am very worried since these are all symptoms of frame failure. I've taken the unit to an authorized Grand Design repair center and so far, am not getting any support from Grand Design to actually fix the frame, the root cause for all of these symptoms. I'm worried if I accept the trailer and continue to use it, the problem will progress and we could end up with a complete failure while on the freeway.Read more
