Our frame on our 2022 Grand Design Solitude S Class 3740BH has failed. While towing this RV 5th wheel trailer, we have observed signs of frame flex/failure and now it has been verified by RV tech Justin Douglas of TBD RV Repair out of Denver, IA 319-883-6030. Items to note: Our hitch inbox appears to rise and fall several inches during transport. The front cargo doors and side entrance door
... have opened during transport after being secured. Several pieces of moulding have “pulled” out from shifting along the front trim of the trailer. The afore mentioned left and right sidewalls appear to shift during transport resulting in pulled screws that support the bedroom floor connected to the sidewall. The roof membrane has separated at the front cap from shifting back and forth. We believe they’re maybe be structural damage to the roof and front chin cone as well under the membrane but we have yet to open the roof to protect the rest of the trailer from rain. Cabinetry in the front bedroom has shifted causing separation of the shelves. The thin staples keeping the particle board have fallen back into the front cone. We re-secured them so we could use the closet without items falling into unaccessible parts of the structure. The bedroom and master bath floor squeak and rise and fall (move) when walking on them The bedroom door has also gotten stuck closed after transport due to shifting. The right side leaf spring compensator (CRE device) was cracked from what was believed to be from lateral shifting and was replaced. No lamps or warning messages were applicable for this problem. The police have not been involved at this time nor any insurance as of yet. We feel that if these items are not immediately corrected by Grand Design, this may result in a safety risk on the road.Read more

I am writing to formally report a series of serious structural concerns we are experiencing with our Grand Design Momentum 349M fifth wheel/toy hauler, which appear to be related to excessive frame flex/failure or upper deck instability. These issues began toward the end of last year and have progressively worsened, raising significant safety concerns for our family. The following symptoms have
... been observed: * Bay and Propane Doors Opening During Transit Both the bay door and propane doors on either side of the trailer have opened unexpectedly while towing on the highway, posing a major safety hazard. * Loud Cracking Sounds from Front Driver’s Side Wall We consistently hear loud cracking noises from the front driver’s side wall during towing and hitching, suggesting structural stress or movement. * Exterior Trim Separation The exterior trim pieces repeatedly separate during travel, despite multiple attempts to re-secure them with bolts. * Cabinetry Movement in Front Cap Sleeping Area Most concerning, the cabinetry in the front cap—where our 8-year-old son sleeps—visibly shifts forward and backward during towing and hitching. This movement is both alarming and unacceptable from a safety standpoint. We have documented these issues with photos and video evidence, which are enclosed with this message. Please ensure the volume is turned up when reviewing the video to hear the structural noises clearly. The contact owns a 2022 Kia Niro. The contact stated that the Hybrid Engine alarm activated and illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle for a few hours, and when restarting the vehicle, the alarm was no longer displayed. The contact continued to drive at approximately 5 mph. When pressing the brake pedal to park, the brake pedal floored with no resistance, and the vehicle began to accelerate.
... The contact immediately turned the vehicle towards the left to avoid crashing into a nearby building, jumped a curb into a ditch, causing the vehicle to bounce several times, and landed on the main street where it came to a stop. The air bags were deployed when the vehicle jumped the curb, landing in the ditch. The contact received bruises and cuts to their right leg and femur, chest, and back injuries. Medical attention was needed. The vehicle was damaged on the front end and was towed. It was not determined if the vehicle was totaled as of yet. A police report was filed. The dealer was not informed of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.Read more

The fuel injectors are failing at 55 to 62k miles. The car experiences a loss of steering wheel functioning components related to the driver assist, and multiple warning lights appear on the dash for a period of a few days, then they suddenly disappear. There are slight hesitations in the automobile's acceleration, and this puts my family at risk during operation. The fuel pumps in the 2019 were r
... eplaced under recall but they failed to include the fuel rail and injectors and the pump we believe may have more pressure than the rail as and injectors were designed to handle and this shortens the life cycle of the part. The dealership diagnosed this problem and acknowledges that these same components have failed on other models and have settled lawsuits by extending the warranty periods to fix the injectors on certain less popular and lower sales volume models, but did not include the 2019 CRV and we think it is because that is a more popular model that would result in much more outgoing expense. his is putting many families at risk including my [XXX] daughter and her new born son. The dealership sells the injector and fuel rail parts that need to be fixed as a kit now due to previous and existing recalls in other Honda models but Honda consumer affairs has declined any warranty assistance to repair the 2019 CRV. On [XXX], I opened my car door slightly to get out. I stood up and the door leaned back quickly and caught my thumb. I was trying to get the handle to release and it would not. Then my door initiated the soft close feature and secured my thumb in the door and would not release. I was screaming with no help around and my [XXX] in his car seat unable to help open the door. The door remained shut on
... my finger for about 10 seconds and released. I almost had a panic attack. It is 11 days later and my thumb is not doing well. I’m going to go to and orthopedic doctor this week to have it assessed. I’ve been taking ibuprofen and soaking it everyday. I cannot believe this “smart” vehicle did not detect something in the door that shouldn’t be and open immediately. My now [XXX] talks about it every day. It was a traumatizing experience and I don’t feel that I can trust this vehicle. It could have severed my thumb and not to mention had it been one of my children who got a finger stuck! I am so upset and this happened to my dominant hand. It’s still swollen, not the skin is peeling and there’s a huge knot on my thumb with no feeling in it. I only have a sensation in my thumb and I can barely move it. I cannot believe this happened to me and as much as I love my vehicle, I no longer trust it!! There should have been more thought put into the soft close feature! If you close a regular car door on your hand it’s going to reopen. If I try to close my garage and something is blocking it, it will not close. Why would this intelligent vehicle secure my thumb and not release. This is terrible! It has to be fixed!! I was so disturbed the day it happened, I couldn’t even think straight. I had a nurse practitioner at work look at it and now she thinks it needs orthopedic attention!! The pictures are 11 days post incident. I am terrified to have my dip powder removed from my nail. I’m scared my nail is going to come right off with it!!! The horn on my 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance becomes severely muted, distorted, or inaudible when the vehicle is wet—especially during rain, which is when a functioning horn is most critical for safety. The horn sound in this vehicle is emitted through an external speaker (used for pedestrian alerts), not a traditional mechanical horn. This speaker is exposed to the elements and appears to degr
... ade in sound quality and volume when wet. This presents a serious safety risk in conditions where visibility is already compromised, and the horn may be needed to avoid a collision. The issue resolves once the speaker dries out, but it is highly repeatable and affects the horn’s ability to fulfill its basic safety function. I believe this design may violate the intent of FMVSS 108 by failing to ensure a consistent and reliable horn sound in common real-world driving conditions. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this design and require Tesla to implement a more reliable solution, especially considering the horn’s essential role in preventing accidents.Read more

My 2018 Ford Focus (DPS6 dual-clutch automatic transmission) suffers from severe hesitation and shuddering when accelerating from a stop, especially under 10 mph. More concerning, the car has stalled multiple times while merging into traffic and during right turns at intersections. We can no longer safely take free right turns due to the risk of the car dying mid-merge. This poses an immediate saf
... ety hazard and mirrors known failure patterns in earlier Focus and Fiesta models. Ford previously extended warranty coverage for the same TCM defect in 2011–2016 models, but my 2018 — which uses the same DPS6 system — has been excluded without explanation. The dealership acknowledged the TCM failure but refused to cover the repair. Instead, they charged me $300 to tell me they would not perform the service Ford originally recommended (a fuel injector purge) and that I now need to replace the TCM entirely. This is a known, documented issue that Ford has admitted to in other years. My car has lost power four times in the last three months, and all signs point to this being the early stages of the same defect. Allowing this failure to persist without coverage or recall is negligent and dangerous. Ford is knowingly placing families like mine at risk by refusing to act. I request an NHTSA investigation into the 2018 Ford Focus DPS6 models, which are experiencing the same failures that have already led to recalls, lawsuits, and warranty extensions in earlier years.Read more

1. DETACHED REAR WALL The interior screws on the back wall tore a horizontal hole (approx 1/2 inch), and interior cabinetry joints are pulling apart. I looked outside to see if there were any signs that were indicative of rear wall separation. The Reflection 150 has an underbelly covering, so mostly the structure/frame is not readily viewable. However, investigating outside I found the black skirt
... wrinkled/buckled on the rear/drivers side. Upon googling, this is apparent indication of rear wall brackets broken/rear wall detached. 2. iFAME CRACKS ABOVE AXLES While investigating, I found severe iFrame cracks on both drivers side and passenger side. I contacted Grand Design who referred me to Lippert, who suggested we use a Lippert agent. 2 Florida local agents declined to get involved, so i returned to the dealer where i purchased the RV - 500 miles away in Georgia, after an email & phone consult. After 5 weeks, they said they would rather not do the job, and after 2 weeks prompting, Lippert agreed to schedule a 'courtesy inspection' - a month out. The dealer that inspected the RV stated that they thought the floor is subsiding & they think it is related to frame issues, but could not be sure without a more thorough inspection (but would need to remove under belly). 3. I started noticing rub marks on the interior walls next to the night stands after the last few uses, and they appear to be getting worse after each use. I was made aware of the deck/frame flex issues the some GD fifth wheels are having and was referred to TSB 24-001. My RV is experiencing the exact concern described in the TSB. I opened a case number with GD, and took the RV to an authorized repa
... ir center. The repair center took measurements and confirmed my deck flex concern with GD and recommended a complete replacement/repair of the structural material and hardware. GD denied the claim! They only authorized replacement of the Lag Screws only, with larger lag screws per the TSB. In reviewing the TSB I don’t see how this fixes the problem! It only provides a temporary bandaid to the deck flex issue which will return after the next couple of uses. (The repair facility agrees that is a possibility). How does installing a larger fastener into an already compromised material provide a permanent repair? From what I’ve seen, the material it’s being screwed into is only 1” x 1”. Drilling a larger hole and installing a 1/2” dia. screw doesn't seem to leave much material left for structural integrity. Since GD has denied a complete and proper structural repair, I could only hope that this Deck Flex issue doesn't come back worse, resulting in an accident while traveling causing an injury or fatality. This is an ongoing problem. I have had multiple frame related issues with this 5th wheel RV. The main bracket that holds the slide wall to the RV cracked and needed emergency welding while on the road, if it broke completely off the slide would come out while towing! After numerous attempts at getting Grand Design to fix this unit, I had to spend thousands of dollars to prove it was road worthy to tow it from Arizona to Indiana to their service center. They finally agreed to repair it. After 3 weeks we got it back with everything fixed or so we thought, less then 500 miles later the crack in the sidewall came back. After reaching out to Grand Design again they agreed to repair it again, 3 weeks later it was repair. Now the Wall the they repaired is moving, obviously something broke again. From the looks of it they didn't fix the problem just covered it up. The supports under the floor are bent and I had to put a 2x4 to support the floor, never fixed. We are full time in this RV and it gets towed all over the country. I have tried to reach out to Grand Design again for repairs but have been rebuffed in my attempt. This RV has been nothing but a disaster, having replaced a bent axle, numerous leaf springs and brakes. This RV was sold stating it was for Full Time living, we will attest that is not the case as they are not built well enough to sustain towing on the roadways of the U.S.A and Canada.Read more
