The front air springs, struts, and air suspension compressor failed. The dealer cannot get the right front air spring because it is backordered. It appears that 100% of these components fail creating demand that the manufacturer cannot keep up with. There should be a recall at this high failure rate on a component that makes the vehicle unsafe to drive per the warning on that dash.

The vehicle has an ongoing oil leak originating from the engine/drivetrain area. The affected components include the intermediate shaft and related seals, which are subject to Ford technical service bulletins, and potentially the plastic engine oil pan and its sealing surfaces. The vehicle is currently operable and remains available for inspection upon request. he vehicle is actively leaking eng
... ine oil at approximately one drop per day. Oil leakage presents a safety risk due to the potential for oil contacting hot engine or exhaust components, reduced lubrication if the condition worsens, and the possibility of oil dripping onto road surfaces, which could reduce traction for other motorists. The condition has not caused an accident to date, but it presents an ongoing safety concern. Yes. A Ford dealership identified and documented oil leakage during a scheduled service visit in November. In addition, the dealership acknowledged known issues with the affected components and confirmed that the vehicle continues to exhibit oil leakage. The manufacturer has declined repair outside of warranty. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Ford dealership on multiple occasions. Ford Motor Company executive customer care reviewed the case and documented a decision to decline repair based on warranty status. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to the discovery of the oil leak. The condition was first identified visually during a scheduled service visit in November when oil leakage was observed. The vehicle currently exhibits ongoing oil leakage without warning lamps or messages. I am also concerned that this model has had several recalls regarding the engin and our falls just outside the range of Ford recall it was build in January of 21 and the recall starts in May of 21. I would like to have that expanded to my vwhicle as well.Read more

While performing a factory recall on the RV, the mobile RV tech discovered underlying issues. He suggested that we get an in-depth evaluation. I contacted and dropped the RV at the shop for diagnosis. The shop discovered extensive frame damage (weld break) at the main beam connecting the pin box and also total frame break and separation on the upper deck floor support. There is substantial floor s
... agging above the outriggers extending from the living area through the back of the RV. The whole rear of the RV is sagging, causing wall cracking and slideout damage. The shop also measured a considerable deflection (pin box to front bottom frame) while performing the manufacturer's instructions for the measurements. The manufacturer has denied our claim and we are tasked with getting home to permanently park the RV. The manufacturer communicated with the shop regarding their finds and the denial, but has not contacted me in any way. All recalls/TSBs have been performed. The rear TSB has not fixed the rear frame sagging and the front TSB was not 100% completed by a dealer, in that several lag bolts were not replaced and none of them had adhesive applied. We have been fortunate that we have had no doors open while traveling. I composed a list of the items we found and submitted it with photos to the manufacturer. They said that the RV qualified for the "Customer Satisfaction Campaign" and that it should take ~1hr for a visual inspection. They only paid 0.10 hrs.Read more

October 2025 we had just left the highway and was on a heavily traveled back road going home from the mountains. My husband felt a jolt and thought we had blown a tire. But he checked the tire monitor and it was fine, then he checked the side view mirror and saw that the camper was off the road and almost hit a speed limit sign! Luckily we were near a less traveled side road and pulled off, sti

We were 6 miles from home so my husband stayed with the camper and I got a ride home to get our car. He was stuck there for 23 hours until the mobile tech got the camper well enough to make the 1 hr and 15 min trip to the nearest dealer. Once there, we were told that prior to us taking ownership, there was a recall on these axles and the "work was done and was satisfied". Per conversations with Grand Design, that issue is confidential between them and the dealer. We just received the camper January 12, 2026 after all repairs were done. Also, the Vin given to us on the build sheet was wrong and the camper year on the invoice should say 2024, not 2023. FYI.Read more

While traveling on the interstate at 10:30p, 6 hours into a highway trip, the vehicle shuttered violently and lost propulsion and powered systems control. We were barely able to get to the shoulder of the highway b
... efore the vehicle came to a complete stop and all dashboard lights illuminated. There was no warning or indication of immanent failure or engine issue. The catastrophic engine failure did not allow for the attempted restart. After opening the engine bay we noted that the coolant reservoir was empty but there was no indication of any leaking fluid in the engine bay or on the ground. The coolant levels were normal at the trip start. We were stranded on the side of the busy interstate for approximately 2 hours awaiting OnStar assistance and were forced to exit the vehicle due to its proximity to the edge of an active lane, leaving us exposed and without any protection for 2 hours, in the middle of the night, until assistance arrived. It was a harrowing experience and we are lucky that we were not injured or killed. The vehicle could not be disengaged from park and had to be dragged onto the flatbed. It was taken to the local GMC dealership and left for diagnosis. It was determined that the #2 piston rod broke, smashed valves and sent metal into all engine systems. Bothe the engine and coolant system were replaced. In addition, the torque converter locked up and had to be removed during servicing. All parts were retained by GM.Read more

We bought our 2022 Grand Design Solitude 346FLS-R in March 2023. We have had numerous safety issues and concerns, and currently don’t feel safe towing it. 1. External locked compartments and entry door open while traveling. Risks: distraction, collision (passing vehicle or objects), quick maneuvering (to side of road), contents ejected onto road/vehicles. Resolution: Shops have tried to fix,
... but problem continued. I placed some screws to extend the latch plates. Concerned this is a “frame flex” issue, along with our floor separation, sheared screws, saw dust, etc. 2. Three axle/suspension failures. In 3/2024 and 12/2024, sudden/extreme tire wear was noted due to failed suspension (broken leaf springs, cracked equalizers). In 8/2025, while driving on [XXX], an entire wheel disappeared. We called the MI highway department afterwards and they had no reports of accidents or debris due to the wheel. Roadside assistance got us to a local repair shop that found the 3 other tires were badly worn/damaged, rear passenger side leaf spring cracked (3rd time), and remaining brakes "fell apart in chunks". The technician diagnosed a bad spindle. As the work was completed, the shop owner stated "I don't think your suspension is fit for this rig. It already appears max'd out." Risks: The entire wheel flying off on the highway could have easily killed someone. Suspension failure while rolling could lead to tire blowouts/catastrophic damages/major accident. Resolution: Suspension repairs made/tires replaced. Recently stopped in at Grand Design in Elkhart, IN to speak with the Customer Service Director about these safety issues. The GD shop is booked until December, but a frame and suspension inspection at a GD dealer was authorized. CW Direct in Elkhart completed the inspection, found a frame crack and assessed the 7K suspension as insufficient. Still no resolution and we now have not been able to live in our home for over two weeks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Every single code is displayed when using a ODB2 scan tool. I have many electrical issues that go away and come back. Sluggish performance. Random components inside the jeep will fail at random. I’m thinking the ECU is faulty. Somedays it will run fine with all the codes still present.

The contact owns a 2022 Grand Design Solitude RV. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH and hauling the RV, the rear passenger's side tire of the RV experienced a blowout.
