Vehicle started rattling uncontrollably on Interstate 95 north, Just north of Richmond Hill, Georgia. We had to pull over and we inspected the jeep for damage. No noticeable damage and we turned around and went home and switch cars. We read that this could be the aluminum steering box or the Jeep rattle. We feel these are known defects that Jeep should be responsible.

The most glaring safety issue caused by below is the SUV will try to move forward on its own while stopped and the brakes pressed that can potentially cause a fender bender. Infiniti/Nissan 5.6L engines have a history of failed or failing viscous cooling fan clutches. This goes back over a decade based on the TSG released by NISMO. When the viscous fan begins to fail, the most glaring symptom
... is that ECM will compensate by revving up the engine RPM...specially with the AC on. This can cause the RPM to go from around 500 to 1000 RPM during an RPM surge. The surge is enough to move the SUV forward at a stop unless the brake is firmly pressed. On hot weather days, this risk is frequent and significant at a top. This viscous fan issue also puts signficant load on the engine and causes significant power loss to the drive train. This issue does not cause any type of "check engine" light since it is strictly a mechanical failure of the mechanism containing the fluids in the viscous assembly.Read more

Driving home one night, August 8th, 2023 (thank goodness it was night) took a turn and got a service traction control light with a ding ding ding noise (I assume to alert me that something is wrong) and then it said engine power reduced which I assume happens because if your traction control is bad, it doesn’t want you slipping. Immediately called my father and he said to just drive it home and
... we’ll check it out. Not 2 miles later, my engine just stopped and it went into ignition. I couldn’t steer, I couldn’t stop because the engine was no longer running. I’ve driven a time or 2 (more like backed up) when I didn’t turn my key all the way and it was in ignition and that’s how it felt because it wasn’t on. This was very scary because I thought the car had just gave out. The engine just stopped and I got warning saying "STARTING DISABLED, SERVICE ENGINE THROTTLE " this is my first car, and after reading the complaints on it, I thought it was a recall. We ended up changing out the gas pedal, which made the problem go away right away, and I haven’t had issues with it since. Failure Mileage: 175KRead more

Our 7 year old was sitting in her car seat when the seatbelt lost tension. Turns out the bolt, securing the belt, was never actually bolted in with the proper torque. The lock washer was as good as new, so if it was threaded at all it was certainly not enough to protect a family. As you can see in the picture, the lock washer was never engaged, this should not have been on the road.

While driving down the freeway, the engine began to smoke and caught fire. My husband and kids were in the car but were fortunately able to pull over without physical injuries. Our insurance company held the car and a third party company (hired by Kia) concluded “ the origin of the fire is in the engine compartment at the exhaust manifold. The cause of the fire is internal engine failure result
... ing in a hole in the block allowing oil to escape and ignite on contact with heated exhaust components”. There were no warnings, check engine light, etc. Kia pointed us towards a class action lawsuit but when you search our VIN # on Kia’s website, there’s are no recalls or issues reported, which is clearly false. Our family escaped serious injury/death but it could have easily been a different story. I will not stay silent and let this happen to other families. On Easter 2023, my family and I were traveling when the check engine light came on. A warning indicated there may be an emissions problem. I contacted my local dealership the following morning and was told that there was a safety recall on seatbelts ( had no idea) and that I’d have to wait until 5/1 in order to get a loaner. I was advised if I brought the car in sooner, I wouldn’t be allowed
... to leave in it if needed parts weren’t available. I was told that the car was safe to drive as long as check engine didn’t flash. On 4/26, I was a block away from my home when several warnings began to illuminate all at once- “adaptive cruise control is failing, see dealer”, “ collision mitigation braking system failure, see dealer” among several more warnings. I contacted the dealership again and was told to keep my appointment the following week. I took my car in on 5/1 and was told that I needed to replace fuel injectors at 68k miles! I was quoted $2100 for the repair and parts however the part can’t be located due to being on a critical back order. It seems that staff at Honda have been provided a script to ask consumers to pay for the part in order to be given an eta which is ridiculous. I questioned why the dealership couldn’t order the part and I pay once it arrives to ensure my car received the part. 2 weeks later and still no ETA. Honda should honor their brand and customers and issue a recall as I’ve read this is a frequent problem on the 2018 model Accords.Read more

I have received mail from the manufacturer, Grand Design, stating my RV is subject to NHTSA Recall No. 22V-308. I have contacted Grand Design for assistance. They state they cannot help me. Their franchised dealers here in Colorado, where I live now, only accept warranty or recall service requests from people who purchased their RV at the dealership. After calling their dealers here, I informed Grand Design of that, and they said they cannot help by compelling their dealers to do the recall inspection and/or repair. Grand Design does have a mobile service repair team, but they refused to schedule me via that service. They told me on the phone that it is up to me to find somebody who is willing to do the inspection, is qualified to do it, and that I must pay for if I want this safety recall inspection and/or repair to be performed. This doesn't seem right. Can a manufacturer legally put me in this position? If not, what can I do to compel them to correct my vehicle? It is a common issue with the Grand Design Momentum G-class travel trailers where the interior floor and possibly the frame are flexing so much that is causes the laminate flooring to lift and separate from the plywood underneath. Bubbles in my laminate flooring were found during our initial walk through when our trailer was purchased, I was lead to believe that it was just a simple adhesive issue
... , but have since found from research that this is a common issue with all the g-class trailers. Many people on the Grand Design facebook pages have experienced the same exact issue, in the same exact areas as mine. Several have had them "repaired" to find out that the problem reoccurs. I am truly concerned about the structural integrity of the trailer as I believe that if the frame is flexing to this extent, that there is a lot of potential for it to become a catostrophic failure in the future while traveling down the road, putting myself and others in potential danger. Metal can fatigue and crack over time from being flexed. Bluedog RV (Portland, OR) has seen this issue several times, and has helped customers get their trailers repaired by a company called Fibrenew. I have e-mails from Bluedog confirming that they know a problem exist, but they claim they do not have anyone capable of fixing it, and do not know of anyone who can fix it. Fibrenew no longer is willing to do the repairs as they feel they can not adequately repair them, and they believe it is a structural integrity issue caused by Grand Design engineering. Our trailer was recently taken to Bluedog RV to have this fixed, but it is unknown what they did. The bubbles in our flooring still exist so it is my belief that they did nothing. It has never been inspected by anyone else. Files attached with file names 1,2 and 3 are of my trailer. The other files attached are supporting documents.Read more
