What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The Engine had to be replaced due to coolant and oil leaking through the 4th cylinder into the engine itself, effectively killing it. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -The car unexpectedly shook very violently, and would not properly accelerate due to the problem. Smoke
... clouded the street as I drove to the repair shop - and other drivers were worried for mine and others safety. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -The problem was confirmed by an independent mechanic as well as a Ford dealer, who told me this is a common occurrence with this specific engine, though there is no recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -The Ford dealer inspected the engine and came to the same conclusion as the independent mechanic - the engine had suffered an intrusion of oil and coolant through the 4th cylinder which effectively killed the engine. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -The check engine light had been on for around a year prior. Also, the acceleration had been getting weaker and weaker.Read more

On [XXX], 2023, my car's electrical system malfunctioned, leaving me unable to restart the vehicle after stopping. I had to call my car insurance for roadside assistance, and their representative jump-started the battery, suggesting I replace it. However, on [XXX], 2024, the same issue recurred, causing the car to stall unexpectedly and fail to start while I was out shopping with my wife and [XXX]
... daughter. Fortunately, I was driving on local roads; I shudder to think what might have happened if I had been on the freeway. Again, I had to rely on my insurance's roadside assistance for help. The safety of my family and me was jeopardized, especially since this is our only vehicle, which we frequently use to travel with my infant. These incidents are documented in two insurance claims. My car is among those recalled for fuel pump issues, but I haven't been able to schedule a repair with the dealer due to no available appointments. The online chat support also refused to book an appointment for the same reason. Additionally, my car has always adhered to Honda's regular maintenance schedule. From March 2024 to May 2024, the car's display screen, including the mileage indicator, intermittently malfunctioned while driving. On [XXX], 2024, when the car stalled, the screen also indicated a brake system error. Finally, I want to report another issue with this car: the cooling system is no longer providing cold air, resulting in the interior temperature being consistently higher than the outside temperature, especially during the recent hot summer days. There is a weakness in the cars firewall around the master cylinder where the weld inside is breaking and it is cracking all around the master cylinder and I am unable to shift the car. I have taken the car to two different shops and both say the same thing that the firewall is failing. The brake pedal is shifting when you push down on the slutch and could compromise your ability to safely find t
... he brake pedal in a braking event. Secondly, in the event of a crash, the clutch/brake pedal assembly could move in a direction not orginally designed causing injury to the legs/feet. If it breaks through all the way it will permanently damage the car beyond repair. I have gone online and read that this is happening to many many many people and their are class action lawsuits going on. I just want to be able to drive my car safely and not worry about killing myself or my kids and no one can fix it. IT NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL!! This is what I read online as soon as I looked it up: Some Subaru models have had issues with their firewalls, including the 2008–2010 Impreza and WRX. These issues can include broken welds that cause other parts of the clutch system to wear out. Some symptoms of a Subaru firewall issue include: Failed clutch, Failing pedal assembly, Sheet metal tearing, Heavy clutch pedal, and Squeaky clutch. Some Subaru owners have reported that the firewall is cracked where the master cylinder is attached, causing problems when shifting. Others have reported that spot welds under the cowl are either cracked or deformed, and that there are little spaces in the firewall where the master cylinder flexes. I just put $13000 into my car and now I can't even drive it because of this issue and it was not my fault. It is the fault of the manufacturer. PLEASE HELP ME!!Read more

On Friday, May 17th around 2:00pm I was driving approximately 25mph when I got an abrupt warning and the truck started to drive differently. I don’t think the vehicle was responding to the gas pedal normally. The first warning said something about selected gear engaging at lower speed. Then there was a message about the pre-collision assist not working, hill ascent not working, and something els
... e - reduced powertrain/service engine soon/advancetrac or something like that. As I pulled over and was slowing down, the truck abruptly threw itself into park while going 5-10mph. I turned it off and then back on and put it in drive. The truck began accelerating without my foot on the gas pedal. My truck got all the way up past 20mph before I slowed down. I tried to record this with my phone as there was no traffic. I could not see well what I was filming because I was looking at the road. My safety was put at risk because had this happened on the highway or a road with no shoulder, things could have been a lot more dangerous. It was scary enough going at a lower speed on a street without traffic. I noticed after this happened that I had a third open recall for the powertrain control module. If I would have known I had this recall and how serious it was, I would have brought it in immediately. Ford should have done more to ensure vehicles impacted by this recall were contacted ASAP. I brought my truck in to the Ford dealership first thing this morning and I am waiting to hear back. The service agent was aware of this ‘limp mode’ situation occurring. I believe I was the first Maverick owner to bring a truck in for this issue at my dealership. There were no warnings that this might occur. I went from driving leisurely to having to figure out what all the beeping and flashing alerts were and manage to get to the side of the road in a truck that was not driving/responding normally. Then the truck started accelerating without my foot on the pedal! I have a video of thisRead more

While driving down the freeway, all the warning lights came on and the engine sputtered and cut out. As we were in the left lane on a busy freeway, it put us at considerable risk. We were able to get to the left shoulder and get towed off the highway. This was caused, I later learned, by a faulty electronic thermostat which caused the system to fail.

The brake ABS module fails intermittently on 2010-2012 model year Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles. It has failed multiple times on mine and I have only owned the vehicle for 2 months. The vehicle is available for inspection. When the module fails, the vehicle switches from electronic to manual braking; however, there are times when the brakes will not engage with the pedal at full travel, touching the
... floor board of the car. When this happens, the car does not stop and has almost resulted in accidents in the past and around April 2024, most recently for me. The only reason a crash did not occur is the light I was stopping for changed green and the car in front of me began moving. I was traveling approximately 25 mph when I began to press the brake pedal. I pumped the pedal 3 times but was still traveling around 15 mph when the light turned green. I had the car inspected by a mechanic because of this issue and found out the entire ABS module and brake pump housing is defective; the plastic pieces from the module that connect to the pump can fracture due to brake pressure. The module is also vin/vehicle specific and replacement parts are extremely hard to find. Symptoms leading to this issue are the parking brake lights-one on the instrument cluster and one on the information screen, and the Check Brake System message illuminate. There is also a clicking noise and vibration from the brake pedal, which I was told is the electronic assistance lever moving away from the pedal. There are multiple people talking about this in online forums and seems to be a well documented fault, even into 2024.Read more

On [XXX] 2024 my vehicle began to vibrate while driving, then the engine light came on. The following day I took the vehicle to the dealership, Sam Galloway Ford and was given an appointment to have the vehicle checked. The vehicle was dropped off on [XXX] and was left overnight. The following day [XXX], the service advisor Reid contacted me to let me know the diagnosis result which was coolant in

Needless to say, I was astonished and informed Reid that I could not afford to do the repairs and needed to consult with family before I give permission to proceed with the work. I later found out that the Ford Escape is included in class action lawsuits due to the EcoBoost engine issues which cause the engine coolant to leak into the cylinders, this is the exact issue with my vehicle! I further learned that Ford Motor Company has been aware of this issue with their vehicles since 2010. I have only had my vehicle serviced at the Ford dealership for over 6 years, and at no time was I notified that there was a potential problem with the engine of my 2017 Ford Escape. Me: I appreciate your concern.Read more
