I purchased my 2023 Toyota RAV4 new back on March 13,2023. 10 days later on March 23 it was raining as I pulled into BJ’s parking lot, I parked and began fumbling around getting my bag and keys together when my car started shaking and sputtering eventually shutting down with an error message engine stopped steering power low. After a call to the salesman I was able to get my car restarted after
... 15minutes and many failed attempts. Car was bought back to service the following week and I was told car was not properly programmed at delivery, it was now programmed correctly and this should not happen again. April 17,2023 my son pulling into Tractor supply , raining out, pulls into spot and car again shakes, sputters and shuts off, same message engine stopped steering power low. After many attempts car restarts approximately 20 minutes later. Car serviced codes ARE FOUND and cleared, road tested and told car was ok. May 31,2025 I was driving down Rt 80, pouring rain when traffic comes to a complete stop due to accident ahead. Car starts shaking, sputtering and shuts down. Same message code as always. I turned the car completely off as not to kill battery and started to goggle the RAV4. I attempted to restart the car numerous times. Called for a tow, prayed that I didn’t get killed once traffic started to move. Finally 1-1/2 hours later it started. Traffic began moving 15 minutes after I got it started. Took in for service, charged $199.61 only to be told there were no codes. Problem could not be duplicated and in the future to always disable the start/stop button while using the vehicle. October30, 2025 raining, I stopped at Panera drive thru. Placed an order waiting in line and car shuts down, same error code, couldn’t restart car for 20 minutes. Took to Toyota November 5th same response no codes and cannot replicate issue, car is ok. Please help rectify this before someone gets killed!Read more

On 2/11/2025 while at a stop light the vehicle stalled and I had to restart the vehicle when the light turned green. An hour later it happened again. At that point my husband and I took my Wagoneer to the dealership. They determined the vehicle needed a new battery. Then on 2/13/2025 I went to my vehicle in the garage and it had "bricked out". I could not start it at all. I had to have a tow truck

On 11/26/2025 again while at a stop light the vehicle stalled and I had to restart the vehicle when the light turned green. A little while later on the same day I was at a stop light and I felt the vehicle start to stall, but the light turned green so I stepped firmly on the gas and the vehicle hesitantly went forward. This issue is recurring despite the dealership's efforts to address it.Read more

On at or about November 1, 2025, I experienced a sudden loss of power steering. I was backing up in a parking and experienced a complete power steering failure. Since that date, it has failed multiple times. There was a recall on the EPS Module in 2015. I have contacted a dealer, they could not find a recall for any power steering issues, when there clearly has been. If there has been a recall for
... the steering of the same model and make and year, and is clearly a SAFETY ISSUE, this recall in 2015 should cover my vehicle also. I was under the assumption that my vehicle was low on power steering fluid. Proceed to look for power steering pump to check fluid level, no reservoir! Start to investigate, find out I have an Electric Power Assist Motor, and an electric module that can not be replaced when it fails, the entire assembly has to be replaced, no way to replace fluid! I’m in the process of getting an estimate of repair as of 11/25/ 2025. There was no indication of any kind, of possibly failure! There is no data stored in the computer indicating any failure, electrical or otherwise!Read more

I was driving on the freeway, 65mph, in Los Angeles and the '21 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started showing a bunch of error messages telling me to safely pull over, loss of propulsion, etc. I lost power and was unable to drive past 38mph. Upon getting to the end of the off-ramp and before coming to a full stop, the vehicle threw itself into parking gear. I shifted to Park, and it wouldn’t shift out of Pa
... rk, while I was blocking traffic on the off-ramp, which could have been a dangerous incident. I required a tow truck. There was a Check Engine Light and a 12V battery light while I was bricked. The tow truck was unable to jump start it. The dealer provided a pre-scan report showing stored codes P0607 (ECU Internal Performance) and P1B13 (Park-By-Wire Unintended Out of Park). Refusal to Repair: The dealer just replaced the 12V battery and "cleared the codes" (per their invoice). There is a known TSB 08-054-22 (NHTSA ID 10248015) specifically relating to code P0607 software logic, but they refused to look into it further. I didn’t have confidence in their diagnosis, and when requesting them to do a safety test drive with me, they refused. When I pressed for safety verification, the Service Director told me to “leave the dealership and never come back.” I was genuinely concerned about the safety of this vehicle and their lack of investigative diagnosis, specifically their refusal to verify if the TSB was performed to ensure the Hybrid Control modules have up-to-date software. They refused to offer any help and just told me to “take the vehicle and leave.” I don’t believe it’s normal for a car to lose propulsion from a weak 12V battery while driving. There seems to be a more complicated communication issue (P0607) that is happening, and it very much concerns me as losing propulsion on the highway is very dangerous.Read more

When I am using cruise control, my car will just randomly slam on its breaks. I have taken my car into the dealer multiple times, and they have written it off everytime. They have said it’s “direct sunlight” yet I can prove it’s not happening in the sunlight. It happened again today when it was cloudy. It’s also happened before the sun came up in the morning. I have even filed a case wit
... h Hyundai directly, and they said if they can’t get it to mimic it, then they can’t do anything about it. But it’s so random, sometimes it happens 50 miles from home, other times it’s 300 miles from home. Always willing to let anyone inspect my vehicle to help solve this issue. I’ve been taking it to my dealer for a full year until I found out I needed to come put it here. It’s random, it won’t happen in the same spot twice. But every time it’s done it, there is never a vehicle in front of me. My assumption is there is a defect with the adaptive cruise control. I’ve talked with Hyundai and they claim they’ve never heard of this happening to anyone, yet when I google it, there are MULTIPLE forums with people stating this exact thing is happening to them. SAFETY issue is it slams on the brakes so hard I’ll go from 80 to 65 before I can get the cruise control off. If someone is behind me when it does this, they will slam into me.when I’m dropping 15 mph quickly, that vehicle behind me will hit me like I’m a stopped object. No warning lights before it happens. This has been happening since I bought my vehicle at 0moled to now where I have 34k milesRead more

I am the original owner of a 2022 Nissan Leaf, purchased new. On the evening of Thursday, 11/20/2025 I became aware of an active recall affecting my vehicle related to a battery fire hazard when using DC fast charging stations. I only learned of this serious safety defect when attempting to trade in my vehicle, at which point the dealership declined to accept it due to the unresolved recall. This
... recall poses a significant safety risk that I was not informed about despite being registered with Nissan. I have regularly used DC fast charging stations without any knowledge that doing so could result in a fire and potential severe injury. The recall notice does not appear in my Nissan account dashboard, although two other recalls for my vehicle are properly displayed there. However, when I independently search my VIN on the NHTSA website, the recall is clearly linked to my vehicle. As a result of this defect and lack of proper notification, I now own a vehicle with reduced functionality, a documented fire risk, and diminished resale value. On the morning of Friday, 11/21/2025 I contacted Nissan's Consumer Affairs and requested that Nissan repurchase my vehicle given the severity of this safety defect and the impact on my ability to use or sell the vehicle. This morning (Monday 11/24/25) I was informed Nissan has refused to buy back my vehicle. The promptness of their reply is concerning and indicates they do not take this issue seriously. I am deeply concerned about the adequacy of Nissan's recall notification process when such a critical safety issue was never communicated to me through my registered account or other direct means. I request that NHTSA investigate why I was not properly notified of this recall despite being the registered owner, whether other affected owners may have similarly failed to receive adequate notice of this serious safety defect, and whether Nissan's refusal to repurchase my vehicle is appropriate given the circumstances.Read more

I leased a brand-new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. About 2 weeks after receiving the vehicle, a severe and dangerous incident occurred. I had driven approximately 2 miles at normal residential speeds with my baby in the back seat. After parking and walking toward the entrance of the home, I turned around and saw both rear wheels glowing bright red, radiating extreme heat, as if they were about to
... ignite. The temperature was so high that when I poured water onto the wheels, it instantly evaporated into steam. It appeared the back end of the vehicle was on the verge of catching fire. This happened during normal, low-speed driving with an infant in the vehicle, creating a direct and immediate risk to my child’s safety. This was not caused by hard braking, aggressive driving, or any impact. The vehicle had very low mileage and was being operated under normal conditions. In addition to this near-fire thermal event, the vehicle has multiple serious electrical malfunctions: • The key fob frequently fails to unlock the doors or open the trunk, leaving us stuck outside the vehicle. • The vehicle sometimes remains powered “on” even after pressing the button to shut it off. • These issues are unpredictable and raise further safety concerns. I reported the incident to Dodge/Stellantis immediately. For over 4 weeks, Dodge has repeatedly delayed sending an inspector, and the vehicle still has not been examined. Because of the overheating, electrical failures, and the risk of fire — especially with a child in the vehicle — I have stopped driving the car entirely. It is unsafe to operate. This appears to be a major defect related to the EV propulsion system, electrical system, braking or drag, and/or thermal management system. I have video evidence of the event and the vehicle is available for inspection.Read more

My mechanic advised this type of leak could lead to engine overheating, sudden power loss, or potential fire risk if not caught early. I frequently transport children in the vehicle, and the unexpected engine damage posed a significant safety concern. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed: Yes. The issue was first diagnosed by an independent, certified mechanic and then confirmed by the Mazda dealership, who determined the cylinder head had to be replaced due to premature cracking and leakage. Has the vehicle/component been inspected: Yes. The vehicle has been fully inspected by an independent mechanic and the Mazda dealership service department. The dealership stated the failed cylinder head will be sent to Mazda for engineering review. Were there any warning lamps or symptoms before failure: There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the failure - which is alarming. The only initial symptom was a strong burning rubber smell that began shortly before the diagnosis. No overheating warnings appeared on the dash before the problem was confirmed. Additional context: The vehicle has 40,000 miles, has been fully maintained according to schedule, and is garage-kept. The Mazda service department acknowledged this failure is unusual and premature. Mazda has issued prior Technical Service Bulletins and warranty extensions for similar cylinder head/manifold cracking issues on the 2.5L turbo engine, but no program exists for the non-turbo engine, despite identical symptoms.Read more

The night of the incident November 16th, 2025, the transmission in my daughter's 2018 Toyota C-HR failed suddenly while the vehicle was in motion. The car lost the ability to accelerate and then became completely immobile. The failure occurred without warning and with no prior symptoms. She could not shift into drive or reverse. My daughter, a [XXX] college student was driving at the time, and t
... he breakdown left her stranded in the dark on a roadway with limited visibility and no safe shoulder. She was in a semi-safe neighborhood. I called AAA as I am a premier member and it took 4 hours to get her car towed. This created a significant safety risk—both the danger of being struck by approaching vehicles and personal safety concerns associated with being stranded alone at night until almost midnight. I am several hours away (Canton, GA) and could not get to her safely. We specifically picked a reliable Toyota model to take to college so that this would not happen. The transmission and related components remain in the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request at my home. The car is not drivable and we are stuck with a costly repair. This appears to be a very common problem with this specific Toyota model even with low milage but no recall has been issues. After the vehicle was towed to Group 1 Toyota in Columbus, GA an inspection by the dealership was performed at a $200 cost to diagnose a transmission failure. A faulty CVT transmission that is not covered under any warranty and is $11,000 to repair. Attached is a report showing excellent condition of other car components. There were no warning lamps, messages, noises, or other symptoms leading up to the failure. The transmission malfunction occurred suddenly, with the first and only indication being the loss of power and inability to move the vehicle. Toyota addressed the issue by no longer using this type of transmission and discontinuing this model but will NOT offer a solution. Please help!!
