What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? ABS Control Module (Part Number 68228991AD). Failure of this part prevents the ABS system, trailer brake, cruise control, and traction control from functioning properly. Part is currently installed into vehicle and is not available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at
... risk? Car no longer has ABS, traction control, trailer brake, or cruise control. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. This is a know issue with 2014-2016 Ram 1500s. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. Following lights are on dashboard: Brake, Traction Control, ABS. OBD Code C2200 for internal module failure. Lights were first intermittent in the Summer of 2024. Came on permanently in early 2025. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION There is a design flaw in the ABS Module for these vehicles that causes them to malfunction. This issue affects thousands of Ram vehicles. The chip in the module that is defective is no longer being produced, and Stellantis is unable to provide replacement ABS modules at the rate they are needed. Thousands of these trucks are driving around with no ABS, T/C, etc or are sitting in shops waiting for a new module, as they will not pass state safety inspections. Stellantis will not acknowledge there is a design flaw with these modules, even though they have been listed as being under "Engineering Review" for multiple years. Due to the critical vehicle systems that are impacted, these ABS Modules must be recalled.Read more

Subject: Safety Recall Concern - VIN: [XXX] - Location: Ukraine Message: "I am writing to report a safety concern regarding my 2024 Honda CR-V (VIN: [XXX] ), which was originally manufactured for the U.S. market and is currently located in Ukraine. According to the official Honda MyGarage portal, my vehicle has two active and unremedied safety recalls: NHTSA Recall 24V-763 (Manufacturer Code:
... PJW) - High-Pressure Fuel Pump Leak. NHTSA Recall 24V-744 (Manufacturer Code: SMM) - Steering Gearbox (EPS) Friction issue. Given the serious nature of these defects—specifically the risk of fuel leaks/fire and the potential loss of steering control—I am concerned about the safety of operating this vehicle. As the car is now in Ukraine, I would like to request assistance in ensuring that the necessary improved parts (the high-pressure fuel pump and the steering gearbox components) are made available to an authorized Honda dealer in Ukraine to perform these critical safety repairs. I look forward to your guidance on how to proceed with these safety remedies internationally. Summary: Remote start causes repeated, predictable failure of critical safety systems including traction control, hill descent control, and automatic emergency braking. Description of Problem: When the vehicle is started using the factory app for phones, the lower infotainment screen (the climate/drive assist panel) frequently fails to initialize properly. As a result, the icons and functions for
... Traction Control, Hill Descent Control do not illuminate or activate. The vehicle then displays warnings such as “Hill Descent Control Not Available” and “Automatic Braking Not Available.” This failure occurs approximately 99% of the time when using remote start. If I begin driving with the vehicle in this state, all of these systems remain deactivated. These features are essential for safe driving especially in winter conditions yet the malfunction leaves the vehicle without stability control, hill descent functionality, and automatic braking assistance. Safety Concern: This issue creates a dangerous situation where the vehicle behaves unpredictably and lacks core safety features required for traction, stability, and controlled braking. This is particularly unsafe in cold, icy, or low-visibility environments where remote start is most likely to be used. Reproducibility: The issue occurs consistently after remote start. If the vehicle is parked, fully shut down, locked, and left undisturbed for 10–15 minutes, the systems return to normal. The malfunction clears before the dealership can inspect it, leaving no fault codes stored. Dealer Response: The dealership has been unable to diagnose the issue because the fault resets itself before technicians can observe it. They report “no codes stored,” yet the problem persists daily and is easily reproducible by any owner using remote start. Why This Needs Investigation: This is not an isolated glitch. It disables multiple federally-regulated safety systems. A potential software or integration failure is affecting the control moduleRead more

While driving, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced sudden loss of power and electrical failures without warning. During these events, the dashboard flickers, warning messages appear, and the vehicle shuts off or goes into reduced power mode. When this occurs, steering becomes extremely difficult, braking becomes stiff, and the vehicle cannot accelerate. These incidents have happened multiple t
... imes in different driving situations, including: At stoplights While pulling into intersections Backing out of parking spaces Driving on public roads, including dark rural roads Driving with my three minor children in the vehicle On at least one occasion, the vehicle shut off while pulling onto a road with oncoming traffic, leaving us stopped in the roadway with no power and limited steering/braking. This created an immediate and serious risk of collision. The vehicle eventually restarted after several attempts. The problem has occurred repeatedly over many months. Multiple independent repair facilities have attempted to diagnose and repair the issue, but no definitive cause has been identified, and the failures continue. The vehicle has had numerous electrical, sensor, engine, and powertrain-related repairs, yet the loss-of-power events persist. Because the vehicle can suddenly shut down while in motion and compromise steering and braking, I believe this is a serious safety defect that could result in a crash, injury, or worse.Read more

Engine started screeching out of nowhere, sounded like something fell through, there was no warning of any kind, car was running seemingly fine prior to this, car was jolting and not going anymore and something also sounded as if it had popped, it started knocking and caught fire and was smoking, breaking down on the side of the road and has been in another state since this occurred just sitting a
... t a hotel because we had to get a rental car. We did call Kia in Georgia to have this issue rectified as we had recently bought this vehicle and were unaware there was a recall on it, however we did some checking and the previous owner also let us know there is a recall for engine fire. I do have the papers for that. Kia advised us they would not be responsible, but Panama City fl Kia where we live were willing to look at that car prior to this incident and take care of the recall, the previous owner never went but now the car has caught fire whilst we were driving in it 7.5 hours away from our house out of town with our children in the car. We had to pull over off of the interstate because the car was on fire and get out on the side of the road and all of had to evacuate. I do believe that if we had been going any faster, we may have even became fatalities because the car locked up. It turned off actually as I was turning to to the exit and just coasted far enough to not be hit in the middle of the road. It was terrifying and we had to move fast and smoke was starting to come through, it started dropping oil everywhere just spilling out lv its almost like the entire underneath of the motor just dropped or something. My 2022 hybrid Maverick suddenly lost power as I was driving at 45 MPH. There was no warning lights; the entire dashboard went black. I lost all power including lights, speedometer, and power steering. Additionally, and more concerning, I lost all brake functionality so I could not stop the vehicle, even pressing the brake very hard. The parking brake switch also did not work due to the power loss
... . The brake pedal would not budge until suddenly after the vehicle completely lost all momentum. In the process blew through a stop sign and I could've easily been killed, or worse, killed other people as I had no control of the vehicle as it coasted. Thankfully nobody and nothing else was harmed as I was the only one on the road, it was just traumatic. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and preliminarily inspected. They decided they want to address a technical safety bulletin for a "no start condition", though the conditions did not match this situation exactly. But they also stated the hybrid/powertrain warranties did not apply, so I rejected the repair due to high cost. It is uncertain if the repair they want to do would fix the issue. It is currently available for inspection upon request, though Ford may try to buy it back soon. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. The only light I can think of was a month before I saw a brief "Charging System Service Soon" warning, but it was only on momentarily (did not persist). I am unsure if this is related.Read more

The vehicle is affected by a manufacturer safety recall related to the engine. According to the recall, machining debris may not have been properly removed during engine production. This can lead to engine knocking, rough running, failure to start, loss of power, or the engine stalling while driving. The manufacturer has stated that the fix will require replacement of the engine assembly, but the
... remedy is not yet available. Because of this, the vehicle continues to be driven with a known engine defect and no repair timeline. The main safety concern is the risk of sudden loss of power or engine stall while driving, which could be dangerous, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer, who confirmed that the recall applies but could not perform a repair, provide a timeline, or confirm that the vehicle is safe to drive while waiting for the remedy. No crash or injury has occurred so far. There have been no warning lights or specific failure events yet, but the concern is based on the acknowledged manufacturing defect and the possibility that the issue could occur without warning. The vehicle is still being driven because there is no available repair, no clear safety guidance from the manufacturer, and no alternative transportation or loaner vehicle provided. The concern remains that the vehicle could unexpectedly lose power or stall, putting the driver and others at risk.Read more

The vehicle, a 2019 Honda Accord, experienced a catastrophic engine failure (blown head gasket) and entered "Limp Mode" after being operated for approximately 18 months with an unaddressed, high-priority federal safety recall (NHTSA 23V-858). The vehicle currently displays DTCs P0100, P0113, and P023D, which indicate severe air/fuel metering and boost pressure correlation failures. Primary Cause:
... Consequential Thermal Stress The primary cause is likely thermal degradation of the head gasket resulting from a prolonged "lean-burn" condition. Recall Defect: The recalled fuel pump impeller is known to deform, restricting fuel flow. Lean Condition: A restricted fuel supply causes the engine to run "lean" (too much air, not enough fuel). Lean combustion is significantly hotter than normal combustion. Heat Accumulation: Over 1.5 years of operation with this restricted flow, the engine experienced repeated, excessive thermal cycles that compromised the structural integrity of the head gasket. Limp Mode Trigger: The stored codes (P0100/P0113) show the ECU was struggling to compensate for the erratic fuel/air environment created by the failing pump. Secondary Assessment (The Dealer's Claim): The Service Advisor (Paul) has alleged that aftermarket components and a missing turbo gasket caused the failure. Assessment: While aftermarket parts increase scrutiny, a missing external turbo gasket typically causes an exhaust leak or loss of boost, not an internal head gasket failure. Contradiction: The dealer must provide empirical proof that these parts caused the failure, whereas the NHTSA recall is a pre-documented, manufacturer-admitted defect known to cause the exact stalling and "limp mode" symptoms the vehicle is currently exhibiting. Conclusion: The most probable cause is manufacturer negligence. By failing to provide a remedy part for 18 months, the manufacturer forced the vehicle to operate under a documented defect that creates the exact high-heat conditions required to cauRead more

Despite multiple repair attempts, the vehicle continues to experience significant, recurring issues that substantially impair its use, value, and safety. Since purchase in April from Hebert’s Town and Country, the vehicle has been in service nine (9) times, totaling approximately 50 days out of service. The last four service visits were for the same issue and the same diagnostic fault code, demo
... nstrating a persistent, unresolved defect. The check engine light is currently illuminated again. The primary unresolved issues include: recurring check engine light with repeated fault codes, multiple battery replacements, the vehicle being completely inoperable and requiring towing, and the auto start/stop system shutting the vehicle off and failing to restart while stopped in traffic. These conditions present clear safety concerns and have persisted despite repeated repair attempts by authorized RAM dealerships. All service records and diagnostic reports are available for review. This vehicle was previously submitted to arbitration. While the arbitrator acknowledged manufacturing defects, the conclusion that the defects did not substantially impair the vehicle and were “separate and distinct” is inconsistent with the diagnostic evidence. The repeated appearance of the same fault code across multiple visits indicates a single, recurring nonconformity rather than unrelated issues. Since the arbitration decision, the vehicle has continued to experience the same problem and has been returned for additional repairs. The vehicle is now awaiting inspection by a manufacturer field engineer due to the dealership’s inability to diagnose or permanently repair the defect, further confirming that prior repair attempts have failed. In good faith, I contacted the manufacturer’s retention team to seek alternative resolution options, including replacement or trade-in, which were denied. Please confirm receipt of this request in writing and advise on next steps.Read more

On a highway about an hour from home, my brand new vehicle with 5,318 miles on it, alarmed me to turn off the vehicle. I was going 75 mph. I pulled over and called GMC being that I just had an oil change and thought maybe they possibly didn't reset something. The vehicle said the oil pressure was low. The dealership advised me to check the oil. It was full and clean. The service person advis
... ed that I should be able to continue to drive. I then called my husband. Upon starting the vehicle it was making a noise coming from underneath the vehicle. He said do not drive that vehicle and he headed to come get me. We had it towed to a nearby dealership around 6 pm. I called GMC again because the tow truck driver could not figure out how to put the vehicle in neutral. The told us to hold the start button down but do not push the brake. That didn't work. The tow truck driver put plastic slides under the back tires and dragged it onto the tow truck bed. The service center was closed so we were unable to speak to anyone. Days later we were told the engine seized. It took 3 guys to get into the bay. GMC advised the dealership service to take apart the engine in order to investigate the failure. They did and established it was a bearing. It was in the shop for 52 days. I was told the replaced engine was a remanufactured engine by GMC and by the service center more than once. I was very angry. I bought a new vehicle, not a used one. Then I was told it was a new engine. Since I purchased this vehicle I feel like there have been soft truths. I'm not sure what to believe. Upon picking up my repaired vehicle there was not a drop of gas in it and 77 miles added to the mileage. I get that the vehicle needs to be test driven but that seems like a lot. I think new engine, new odometer starting at 0? I bought a new vehicle for safety. I have a 2006 GMC Yukon that has been very reliable which is why we purchased the Acadia. I seriously do not feel safe.Read more

Audi has a pre-sense mechanism that cannot be permanently turned off. I have almost been hit three times when the Audi brakes FOR NO REASON at all; people almost rear-end me because the Audi comes to an immediate halt. And there is no reason for the pre-sense to engage when it does go off. They are flukes. I am going to get seriously injured.
