6” Snow ice storm & negative degree temps 12/13/25 used heated windshield deicer. On 12/15 driving to work on a country road no other traffic, heard pop cracking noise above my head checked sunroof snow ice melting no visible cracks thought noise from thawing ice. Parked vehicle in my home garage while I went out of town. Returned home 12/22 found large crack origination point in front windshiel
... d originating in glass down the middle of rear view mirror sensor housing black box mounted on inner windshield the crack spans from top middle to bottom of black box glass over to right center half of windshield. Believe this is a manufacture defect design flaw low quality integrity of glass weaker than standard glass making it more susceptible to temperature changes or minor impact. Entire crack feels smooth interior exterior glass as if the crack is in the inner layers of glass windshield. Due to multi complaints & prior class action lawsuit regarding manufacture defect of KIA windshields I am reporting my complaint as it is quite similar to others complaints, issues & lawsuits. The massive crack in windshield is a driving safety hazard & a manufacture defect that needs recalled & resolved before injury or death occurs. KIA must acknowledge, issue recall &/or post a bulletin, accept responsibility this is a manufactures defect, notify the public and replace the windshields under Good Faith Customer Relations WarrantyRead more

To the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am submitting this letter as a **formal safety complaint** regarding repeated transmission failure in my **2019 Chevrolet Traverse**, which poses a potential risk to vehicle safety. In **December 2024**, while the vehicle was still covered under General Motors’ factory powertrain warranty, an authorized GM dealership diagnosed a serious
... transmission defect. Due to parts being on national backorder, the repair was delayed. When the repair was eventually performed, only partial components (torque converter and valve body) were replaced rather than the full transmission. Despite this repair, the transmission **failed again less than one year later**. In **November 2025**, a second authorized GM dealership confirmed that the transmission now requires **full replacement** and that the prior repair did not correct the underlying defect. The transmission failure has resulted in **slipping, hesitation, and loss of proper power delivery**, which creates a **potential safety hazard**, particularly during acceleration, merging, and highway driving. A loss of propulsion or delayed response in traffic significantly increases the risk of an accident. This issue was identified while the vehicle was under warranty and was not properly resolved. The repeat failure suggests a **systemic defect** rather than normal wear. General Motors has declined further assistance. I am requesting that NHTSA review this complaint as part of its monitoring of potential **powertrain defects** affecting vehicle safety. Vehicle Information: * Make/Model: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse * Manufacturer: General Motors * Component: Transmission / Powertrain Thank you for your attentionRead more

I randomly get warning lights that my camera is disabled for Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision warning, Lane Assist Warning. Each warning message I get comes one after the other stating CAMERA disabled. After a few minutes of driving, all the orange lights disappear and it seems to reset itself to normal. This has happened on three random occassions. I took it imme
... diately to Hyundai of Bay Ridge but they said they were not able to duplicate the problem. I also mentioned to them that my dashboard and Infotainment system constantly dims then brightens for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes, it dims for two seconds, then goes bright again, sometimes it dims for much longer. This happens everyday and it doesnt matter if it is a bright sunny afternoon or an early morning. It constantly dims then brightens. The dealer keeps saying they can't find anything wrong because diagnostics shows everything is ok with their computer. I feel like they are simply sweeping this under the rug because it is a leased vehicle and I am concerned for my safety should I suddenly lose power.Read more

We heard a whining sound under the hood on November 1st, 2025. Prior to noticing this noise, there were no warming lamps or messages appearing. Following a short drive we smelled burning in the garage. We did not drive the vehicle the following day and intended to take it to our mechanic on Monday morning, the 3rd. Upon trying to start the car it was dead. We had to have it professionally jumped
... as standard jumping with our personal jumper cables would not start it. Our mechanic explained both the battery and the water pump would need to be replaced. Upon further examination, he realized that the cable or water pump harness that connects the two had been burned and discovered a recall on thousands of 2017/2018 X4 models. He called us and encouraged us to take it to BMW as he found the recall and assumed they would take care of it. Upon calling our local dealership, they looked up our VIN and said our model was not part of the recall. We proceeded with the repair as we had to have our vehicle. Once those parts were replaced, it was also discovered that the issue caused the entire DME/ECU unit to go bad. Our mechanic then ordered that directly from BMW. Once in he had it reprogrammed and we got the car back. We were without a vehicle for a month. We would ask that you please review this as it's clear, this was the exact issue that has affected thousands of other BMW X4 Models. It is a safety issue as we smelled the burning in our garage and learned later that it could have started a fire either while driving it or in our garage at home. Our VIN should be included in the recall. Upon calling BMW of North America Customer Service, they told us to file a complaint on nhtsa.Read more

Description of Issue: I am reporting a power steering system defect related to improper hose clamping that creates a risk of power steering fluid loss and potential loss of steering assist. At approximately 17,000 miles, in February 2025, a power steering fluid leak was observed originating at the power steering pump return hose. Original inspection by MB Bonita Springs, FL indicated 'NO LEAK'.
... However, leaking continued as evidenced by hydraulic fluid spotting on the driveway under the parked vehicle. Upon complaining on 12/19/2025, the MB Bonita Springs agreed that leaking was occurring, and inspection revealed that a worm-gear hose clamp was installed at the pump connection. The worm-gear clamp cut into the hose, causing the leak. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer for repair. The dealer replaced the hose but reinstalled the same type of worm-gear clamp, rather than a constant-tension clamp. This may correct the underlying safety issue and risks repeat hose failure and sudden loss of power steering assist while driving. Hydraulic power steering return line hoses may detach, leading to power steering fluid loss and reduced steering assist, especially at low speeds causing a safety issue. Upon researching I found similar vehicles affected: Certain 2015-2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter models (Platform 906 & 907) with hydraulic power steering. it is possible that certain models that were upfitted by Airstream were excluded from this recall. NHTSA Recall Numbers: 20V-663 & 21V-241. It may be possible that certain upfitted Sprinter VIN values were not included in this recall and that my vehicle was overlooked.Read more

The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Emergency Braking does not function, and we believe it has never function properly since we purchased the vehicle NEW on 8/22/25. The vehicle has been to the local Jeep dealer on numerous occasions to have the issue corrected, but to date, they are unable to determine a root cause or affect a repair. On the last repair visit, they conducted a road test with
... their employee driving and the service and myself in the car. They could not get the FCW to function either, despite a call to the Jeep remote assistance line and a reboot of the main control panel. The service manager indicated that he would reach out to their factory technical representative for assistance. They called me a few days later and asked my to bring the vehicle in again. It has now been at the dealer for an additional three days, with no apparent progress made. On a prior service visit, they indicated that they needed to open a " STAR record because they weren't seeing any error codes. I have no idea if either the STAR record or contact with the factory representative actually occurred. At this point, we don't feel safe driving the vehicle with our grandkids in it. In addition, these safety features, and the Jeep safety ratings, were a big factor in our decison to buy the Grand Cherokee. We can't help but feel that this is a known defect in the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve, and that Stellantis/Jeep and their dealer are either unwilling or unable to correct the serious safety issue this has created.Read more

Oil component failure causing extreme heating within the engine and catalytic converter which poses risk for engine fire. This oil consumption issue was addressed by the dealership who ran a test to see how much oil was consumed. The test results showed that the vehicle was burning oil at a high rate and would ultimately result in engine failure. The low-oil light has never come on indicating
... a need for an oil change. Despite this, I have constantly pulled my own dip stick and got changes every 2,000 miles. For this make and model, they required a change every 5,000 miles. When I notified Hyundai Corporate over this concern. They claimed due to it being outside of warranty, that it does not matter what my engine light has been doing since I got the car, nor the issue with the oil consumption, they refuse to address any of these problems as being a manufacturing problem. The maintenence has been kept up since I got the car, so the manufacturer is not acknowledging the constant issue with Hyundai Tuscon engine dangers. If a fire were to occurr, I was told this is not Hyundai's responsibility due to me not being the first owner and it not falling within warranty. After the combustion test, Hyundai claimed that they refilled my oil. When I checked my dip stick after only driving 100 miles, the image attached will show the resulting levels. My oil light is still not coming on despite this. Even when it has been much lower than the pictured level. This, paired with the super heated catalytic converter due to the oil consumption, is going to cause an engine fire and is not fair to the consumer.Read more
