my truck has not been added to the 6.2 engine recall. I have several cases of friends and acquaintances who have had multiple engine failures (including replacements)with this same engine where their trucks shut down in the middle of the highway. I’ve tried speaking with GMCs customer warranty department to get details on why my engine has not been recalled and no one including them, my selli
... ng dealer or my service dealer can explain why it has not been recalled. I do not feel safe driving this truck and I’ve come to the point where I do not feel GMC has been honest with me about this engine. I’m actively reading dozens and dozens of cases each week where some GMC trucks are on their 3 or more engine. (engines produced in 2025 and late 2024). facebook page called gm 6.2l engine and bearing failure 2019-2024 discussion group has nearly 5,000 active members on it. I’m even getting conflicting information form gmc and dealers on what oil the truck should have.Read more

The rear passenger-side seat belt retractor is malfunctioning. The seat belt does not properly retract or maintain tension during normal use. The belt remains loose and does not snugly secure the passenger unless manually adjusted multiple times, reducing the effectiveness of the restraint system. This seat is regularly used by a child passenger. Because the seat belt does not function as designe
... d, the safety of a child occupant is compromised, particularly in the event of sudden braking or a collision. This involves a primary safety restraint system. The issue was discovered during normal driving conditions and is repeatable and consistent. The seat belt assembly is available for inspection upon request. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared prior to or during the malfunction. The issue was not caused by an accident, impact, or misuse. The vehicle is otherwise operable. The manufacturer was contacted for service. Initially, a service charge of approximately $55 was proposed to inspect or repair the seat belt assembly. After questioning whether a safety restraint system should be subject to a service charge under warranty, the charge was removed. At the time of this report, the issue has not been inspected, repaired, or addressed, and guidance on safe continued use—especially with a child occupying the seat—was delayed by several days.Read more

The screen was already running slowly, I placed the car in reverse to exit a parking space. Instead of displaying the backup camera, the IHU rebooted and there was no backup camera view or rear cross traffic information available. Audible turn signals and exterior speakers were also impacted. I believe the issue was the IHU rebooting due to low memory,. There was no accident, so nothing to inspect
... , but you are welcome to send somebody out to look at the car. Safety? There was no rear camera view, none of the usual sounds while backing up, and there was no rear cross traffic alert. As the problem was transient, it has not been reviewed by a service center. The vehicle has not been inspected. The only symptom (which is consistent with past similar issues) was a very slow IHU / center screen before the uncommanded reboot.Read more

While driving my 2016 BMW i3 with Range Extender, the vehicle experiences sudden and complete loss of propulsion at very low state of charge (0–1%). The car abruptly loses motive power, forcing me to pull over, sometimes while in traffic. After sitting for several minutes, limited power may return, but the vehicle often shuts down again, and in some cases the Range Extender engine does not engag
... e at all. This has occurred repeatedly and creates a serious risk of being stranded or hit while merging or driving on public roads. BMW has inspected the vehicle twice (07 Nov 2025 and 13 Jan 2026) and confirmed the loss of propulsion and need to pull over but classified the behavior as “normal” without performing high-voltage battery diagnostics. The failure appears consistent with high-voltage battery voltage collapse under load, causing the battery management system to shut down the drivetrain. This is not normal power limiting — it is a sudden drivetrain shutdown that occurs without warning and poses a significant safety hazard.Read more

On [XXX], before the scheduled service appointment could occur, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total electrical failure while traveling at highway speed (approximately 65 mph). The vehicle lost propulsion and displayed brake system warnings. After reaching the shoulder, the vehicle also lost hazard lights while disabled in heavy rain. The vehicle was towed via Hyundai Bluelink to a Hyundai dealership and removed from service. The occupants at the time of the incident included my wife and my minor child. The loss of propulsion, braking warnings, power steering, and hazard lights created a serious risk of a rear-end collision and injury. Due to repeated and escalating safety-related failures involving electrical, braking, and steering systems, I no longer consider the vehicle safe to operate. My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2 frequently stalls while coming out of idle, such as at traffic lights. This is not the auto stop-start feature and happens whether or not auto stop-start is deactivated. Usually, after being by stopped, as I am getting ready to start moving again, the vehicle will slightly rev or try to lurch forward before stalling out. This turns the engine off, throws the car in
... to park, and activates my e-brake. It happens before I press the accelerator so the car is not moving more than a mile or two an hour. This problem is dangerous because it creates a risk of accidents with other vehicles. When the car stalls in this way, I must confirm the car is in park, press the brake, restart the engine, deactivate the e-brake, and shift the car into drive before proceeding through the intersection. This takes a few seconds and if the driver in the car behind me isn’t paying attention and think I am starting to move, he or she could rear-end me. This problem has happened more than a dozen times (so not every time I drive but frequent enough to be a pattern). It can happen when I have been driving for a while and the engine is warm. There is no way for me to predict in advance when it will happen. It can go weeks without happening or happen twice in the same day. It does not activate any dash warnings (such as service engine light or an error code) that I can see. I have taken my car into the dealership twice for idle related issues including once for this exact problem. The last time, the dealership found misfires on all cylinders, both catalytic converters coming apart from the inside and 02 sensors that had melted from overheating. The dealership replaced all of this. My vehicle still stalled on the way home from the dealership. This time, I detected a strong rubber or plastic burning odor when I got home. The vehicle has less than 12,000 miles on it and was bought new less than a year ago. I attach last repair invoice.Read more

I towed the car to clay Cooley Hyundai Dallas because my research indicated that theta 2 engines had government mandated extended warranty even for subsequent owners however as I didnt drive it often & had only replaced the oil(I change every 3k and was soon to do another) once, because I've only owned car for around 6k miles(purchased 10/30/24 I think)before it seized. Hyundai denied txxi claim, stating engine didn't seize due to connecting rod bearing failure, further stating, it was neglect. they said my valve train look terrible. well its going appear so as the theta 2 was inherently known for poor oil flow, major oil consumption, rough crankshafts & improper deburring, all of which lead to premature ware of internals&seizing. also they stated there weren't enough oil changes on the carfax in general, well not all shops report auto service so there isn't going to always be records. furthermore they were failing even in the range of 25k-60k, indicating they were still failing with records of timely service. to my knowledge they didnt perform what I believe they're Mandated to do i.e vid/pic evidence that they cant turn the crank, a bct test, oil level etc.Read more

I put the car into drive to pull away from the cars I impacted and the car accelerated at an uncontrollable rate of speed forwards, striking a curb in front of the showroom, causing my car to veer into two new cars on the lot, sideswiping the last car and veering my car into a lamppost along The Fairway. The collision caused my car to stop, causing the Driver airbag to deploy. At no time did the forward collision avoidance system cause the car to brake itself. When the car was moving, the engine was revving at maximum RPM. I wasn't able to control the vehicle. The policed officer who investigated the scene said he did not see any interference from the floor mat, which he said is a common cause. Upon reviewing the activities leading up to the crash, I recalled attempting to use the remote start feature of the vehicle, which had been operating flawlessly. However, on this day, it took 3-4 attempts to get the vehicle to start remotely, possibly indicating a computer flaw. I was injured; no one else was.
