About 1 year ago, my child was in a forward-facing car seat in the third row. The power seat button was activated, and the seat started to fold down with my child in a car seat. It did not stop. I was panicked but luckily was able to act quickly and get the seat to stop without him being seriously injured. This was reported to Hyundai at the time and Hyundai disregarded my claim. While driving the vehicle, the blower (A/C) began to cycle on and off. Then I began to smell electrical smoke. Then I began to see smoke coming from vents and where the windshield meets the dashboard, closer to the passenger side. I pulled over and shut off the car as the smoke was getting worse inside the car. I popped the hood and saw smoke coming from the passenger side. I then called 911. Sm
... oke was beginning to billow from engine compartment. As I was talking to the 911 dispatcher, I saw flames beginning in the engine bay close to the firewall on passenger side. The car was a total loss and is in a tow yard. It can be inspected upon request. The 911 operated told me to be aware of smoke and explosions so I backed away about 30ft. Many cars were passing by, close to the car. There are 2 safety recalls on this vehicle that are related to possible fire. I have an open case with BMW USA. They have not inspected the car. I have liability only for insurance so they will not cover. There were no warning lamps or indicators before fire.Read more

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 MPH on the interstate, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of engine power and decelerated rapidly, nearly causing an accident. The contact managed to pull off the road, but the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact reported a prior history of excessive oil consumption. During a previous visit to
... the dealer, the contact was advised to shorten the vehicle oil change intervals from 10,000 miles to 5,000 miles to mitigate the oil loss. The contact stated that the dealer failed to determine that the excessive oil consumption was an early symptom of the current engine failure. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the belt filter and the piston needed to be replaced within the camshaft assembly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.Read more

Over the past four days, my vehicle has repeatedly applied braking unexpectedly without a valid obstacle or need to brake. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (Automatic Emergency Braking) system is set to “Late,” yet the vehicle still applies braking unnecessarily. This behavior did not occur previously and has started happening repeatedly within the past four days. This creates a significant safety risk, particularly in traffic where unexpected braking can cause rear-end collisions. The vehicle has approximately 1050 miles and has not been modified. The issue is currently being evaluated by a Hyundai dealership and has been reported to Hyundai Motor America under an open case.Read more

I had left work and pulled out of the parking lot to head towards the freeway. I had driven about 3 blocks and the truck made an indicator alert noise. My dash panel said reduced power mode or something to that effect. The truck felt as if it lost power. Luckily I was able to pull to the side of the road at which point I put it into park and shut it off. I waited a moment and then tried to restart
... it. The dash panel said something but it was too fast for me to read before it went away. The engine was cranking but it did not restart. I tried several more times before calling roadside assistance to have it towed to a nearby dealership. The dealership said that I would need to replace the engine $18,751.92. They said the Camshaft RPM are 0 while the crankshaft RPM is 2-300. Lifters and Rockers are not moving. The chain is most likely broke as well. The fuel pressure is about 30 psi in the high side. It would be just as expensive if not more to try and repair the existing engine if it is even repairable which they wouldn't know until they took it apart at which point I would have to pay for that as well even if it was not salvageable. They would need to replace the oil lines and cooler as well because debris from the engine could be in them and would do more damage if not replaced. I had already replaced the oil lines and cooler within the last 6 months. The truck has 114,000 miles. My warranty still had 3 months on it but the mileage stopped at 100,000 so I am out of luck. When I researched online to see what it could be I saw there are known problems with this 6.2 L87 engine and that many fail around 100,000 miles. There are other recalls but the 2019 was not included in the recall. If I choose to have the work done it will take several weeks in which I will now have to rent a car as well. Not much of a choice when I still owe $30,000 and they only offered me $9,000 for it as is with the bad engine.Read more

Good day, I am writing to formally raise and escalate a serious concern regarding the vehicle I recently purchased Autosource company. I purchased a car through auto source company that assists international professionals in leasing or purchasing vehicles in the United States. However, upon independently checking the vehicle’s VIN, it has come to my attention that the car has an unresolved saf
... ety recall involving the electric throttle body. This issue was not disclosed to us at any point during the purchasing process, which is very concerning. As this vehicle is intended for daily family use, including transporting my children, safety is our top priority. The presence of an unresolved recall raises significant concerns about the vehicle’s reliability and overall safety. Additionally, I have made multiple attempts to contact the assigned agent regarding this matter, but unfortunately, I have not received any response to my messages or emails. This lack of communication is deeply disappointing. Given that the vehicle is scheduled for delivery on [XXX] I respectfully request the following: Immediate clarification regarding the recall status Confirmation that all necessary repairs will be fully completed prior to delivery. Official documentation proving that the recall has been resolved. Assistance from a supervisor or appropriate representative to handle this escalation. Please treat this matter with urgency. I would appreciate a prompt response to ensure that this issue is resolved before the scheduled delivery date. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Emergency Call (SOS) system failure / internal battery defect. This is apparently a known issue on the VW Atlas (and other VW/Audi models with Car-Net/SOS systems). Owners regularly report SOS/Emergency Call errors associated with the backup battery or the telematics module. Some dealers even acknowledge it as a “known issue” with those systems. This isn’t rare, especially in the 3–5 y
... ear window of the vehicle's age. The backup battery itself is cheap (roughly $50–$100 in most cases); however, the labor is not, because it typically requires a glove box/dash teardown and access to the module behind panels or the console. SOS-related repair costs, due to labor, are generally quoted between $850 and $1,500, depending on the city, state, and dealership. Sadly, VW knows this is an issue and refuses to do anything about it, creating a potentially dangerous situation where, in an emergency, the call button (sold as a must-have feature) will not function without this expensive battery replacement. My research shows this is an ongoing issue even in new models, yet they refuse to remedy it.Read more

This incident happens when driving home from work, it happened half a mile away from where I live on a local road. While searching the forums, I found out that this is becoming a problem where multiple cyber trucks have this issue going on which I feel is a safety issue as it can cause a major accident or fatalities if somebody was driving on the highway on highway speeds and this happened. This is a follow-up to complaint #11714226 regarding an ongoing safety defect. The defect has now resulted in a crash. The vehicle experiences repeated unintended braking at highway speeds (50–79 mph) without driver input and with no obstacles present. During multiple events, the steering becomes temporarily unresponsive or “locked,” preventing driver control. The vehicle has also exhibited
... unintended lane departures, erratic lane changes, and unexpected acceleration following braking. Warning indicators including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Assist, and Master Warning have illuminated without cause. This vehicle has been presented three times for repair attempts specifically for these braking and steering systems and has been out of service over 30 cumulative days. The manufacturer was unable to duplicate or repair the defect and returned the vehicle unrepaired. On March 12, 2026, Genesis Corporate (Case Manager Terrence) stated they were coordinating with Genesis of Selma to schedule a fourth repair attempt. However, on March 26, 2026, Mike at Selma Genesis stated via text: “We as a dealer won’t be working on your car.” This directly contradicts Genesis Corporate and has prevented further repair attempts. On [XXX], while traveling approximately 55 mph, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of steering control combined with unintended braking, causing it to leave the roadway and collide with pistachio trees. Law enforcement responded. I sustained back and neck pain and sought medical care. The defect remains unresolved and poses a serious risk of injury or death. The dealership assured me there were no issues and stated that the software update had adjusted the gear ratio to reduce strain on the transmission. The vehicle was returned to me with no further action recommended. Subsequent communication with American Honda revealed that the company had been aware of widespread CVT belt issues in these model years. Rather than issue a full recall, Honda extended the powertrain warranty to 7 years or 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first). I don't know if this qualifies as an immediate safety issue, however, if the vehicle is stopped and placed into park on a busy freeway, or in traffic in any way, then this absolutely is a safety issue after the fact because the vehicle cannot be moved due to not being able to get it into gear. This involves the shift linkage component and not being able to get the car out of park and into any othe
... r gear. It's already an active recall but it's VIN specific and my VIN was not included. It really needs to be though. It should be all Fusions at this point. I drive a 2020 Ford Fusion and the shift linkage bushing broke. Initially I got the "shift system error" message back in January and could not get my car into gear. It would just bounce right back into park. I had to call a tow truck but eventually the driver was able to somehow reset the system using the hidden reset button in the center console. It was enough to keep me running for a couple of months. However, two weeks ago it happened again and the reset option was no longer working. The car was towed to my dealership and they replaced the "missing" bushing and I was charged $511.00 for the repairs. Considering how widespread this issue this seems to be, I would like to see a full model-specific recall issued for these Fusions and possibly reimbursement for the costs I was subjected to due to the issue. I can provide the service receipts from the dealership showing that it was replaced and the total cost. Thank you!Read more

The engine in my vehicle (2007 Charger, 49,000 miles) has completely failed due to "Casting Sand Sludge". This issue has been acknowledged by FCA Stellantis; but only in much newer engines. The failure in my vehicle, from the "casting sand sludge" caused the vehicle to have engine heat issues, which could have started a fire or resulted in the complete seizure of the engine at speed, potentially l
... eading to a catastrophic and fatal outcome. The fact that the issue is present in my vehicle strongly indicates that FCA Stellantis was aware of the Casting Sand Sludge issue far earlier than they have acknowledged. The Service center suspected a head gasket issue, so they began to address it; what they found was casting sand sludge throughout the engine block. An issue which is an inherent defect of manufacturing, which is unknowable to a unsuspecting owner - until a total failure occurs. This issue would also coincidentally constitute a breach of the "implied Warranty Of Merchantability", as the issue makes affected vehicles not fit for their intended purpose. The Service Center that found the defect is an Authorized FCA Stellantis Dealer/Service Provider. The Service Manager has had an "Conference Call" with an Area Service Manager & A Service Technical Advisor. The Service Manager has indicated that it is casting sand & has told me that if the manufacturer has him send them the engine that i what he is putting on the report. He has told me that he feels that the manufacturer likely will try to bury the issue by attempting a "Forced Buyout". Cursory, research by myself has found that Casting Sand in the presence of H.O.A.T or O.A.T. coolant & heat forms a sludge which over time {40,000 to 55,000 miles} renders an engine unusable, risking catastrophic failure or fire. LX Platform vehicles of the era 2005-2009 were considered "Durable for intended purpose for 150,000 to 300,000 miles". Casting Sand left in the engine block, during manufacture, violates that durabilityRead more

The vehicle has not yet been brought in for this specific issue. The problem is consistently reproducible — any slight movement of the USB cable causes disconnection. This is a known and widely reported issue No. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by any of these parties regarding this specific defect. No warning lamps illuminate. The only symptom is the CarPlay interface disconnecting on the screen when the vehicle hits a bump or the cable is slightly moved, indicating the USB port itself is physically loose and failing to maintain a stable connection. The issue began and has persisted since I first noticed it. No prior warning was given before the port became loose. The USB port used for wired Apple CarPlay is physically loose and wobbly, causing the connection to drop with the slightest vibration or road bump. I have tried multiple cables and positions without improvement. Losing CarPlay while driving means losing active navigation, forcing dangerous driver distraction to reconnect. This is a known defect reported by numerous 2021 Accord owners. I am requesting this be investigated for a potential recall or technical service bulletin.
