My truck is affected by GM’s engine block‑heater safety recall (NHTSA 21V‑496 / GM N212329840) addressing a risk of short circuit and potential engine‑compartment fire at the heater cord/terminal connection. GM’s interim action has been to remove/disable the block‑heater cord, which my dealer did, and then marked the recall “completed.” As a result, the NHTSA VIN tool shows 0 unrep
... aired recalls, even though no actual repair/restored functionality exists and GM continues to advise owners not to use the block heater until parts are available. Safety concern / impact: I live in a cold‑weather area and purchased this diesel expecting a functioning block heater for reliable cold starts. Disabling the heater has removed an intended cold‑weather safety/starting aid for multiple winters without a final fix. GM’s bulletin explicitly allowed dealers to disable the cord to close the recall, rather than provide a repair, leaving owners without the feature indefinitely. Suspiciously, I have also had to replace glow plugs on this truck sooner than traditional wear / failure rates would demand - including one glow plug that has been replaced twice in short span of time (should have lasted years). I continue to monitor GM’s recall portal; still no parts/remedy schedule. Please review whether GM’s chosen remedy—disabling a safety‑related feature and closing the recall—is adequate and within a reasonable time under the Safety Act. If not, I request NHTSA open a Recall Query into remedy adequacy and timeliness so owners receive a real repair (replacement heater/cord/connector) or appropriate alternative remedies.Read more

Bought the truck used from a ford dealer with roughly 34000 miles in 2023.Transmission had a slightly hard shift into 5th gear then that escalated to a jump of shifting from 1 to 4 leaving traffic lights or stop sighns. The truck would also drive in first shift to 2nd or 3rd and loose all power for moment of time then shift to 4th. Changed trans filter and replaced motorcraft ulv to specs at rough

On the afternoon of 01/20/26, I was merging onto the highway in my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 when a loud bang was heard from the engine compartment at approximately 60 mph. Immediately after the ban was heard, several indicator lights on the dashboard were illuminated, including the ESC, check engine light, and parking brake light. A power loss was felt when attempting to accelerate and the banging noi

Turned on the car to the find the check engine light was on. Drive 5 minutes to my son’s school to pick him up. Turned the car off, then back on to see if maybe the check engine light would go off. Instead the check engine light, battery light and service hybrid charging system errors appeared on the dash. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT IN GEAR AT ALL. It left me stranded.
... I called a tow truck and about 10 min before they were set to arrive I tried turning it off and on again and it started like normal (check engine light still on) Drove 5 min home and it did it again in my driveway. Happened again when my husband started it to take a look. This happened to us one other time about 3 months after we bought the car. We’ve only had it 9 months. Both recalls have been completed. I am filing this complaint to report a catastrophic engine failure involving my 2017 GMC Terrain equipped with the 2.4L Ecotec engine, which I believe is the result of a known manufacturing defect related to excessive oil consumption and premature internal engine wear. At approximately 88,000 miles, my vehicle experienced severe engine failure, including excessive oil consumption, timing chain fa
... ilure, and complete engine failure, which has been confirmed in writing by a licensed repair facility. The shop determined that the engine failure was caused by oil starvation resulting from excessive oil consumption, leading to internal engine damage and timing chain failure. This failure occurred without warning and rendered the vehicle unsafe to operate. Sudden engine failure creates a serious safety risk, including loss of power while driving, inability to accelerate, and increased risk of collision. This engine failure matches a well-documented defect pattern involving General Motors’ 2.4L Ecotec engines, which have been the subject of class-action lawsuits, settlements, and jury verdicts related to premature piston ring wear, excessive oil consumption, and resulting engine damage or failure. These issues have been widely reported in Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles within my model year range. My vehicle was properly maintained, and this failure was not the result of neglect, misuse, or normal wear and tear, but rather a latent manufacturing defect that manifested after the warranty period but well within the reasonable life expectancy of the engine. I am requesting that NHTSA formally document and investigate this defect, as it presents a significant safety concern for drivers operating vehicles equipped with this engine. I also request that General Motors be required to address this defect to prevent additional engine failures and potential safety incidents.Read more

The engine has an Active Fuel Management system that has frequent failures of the lifters which causes the push rods to bend. This causes a misfire and the check engine light to illuminate. The truck lost power, starred sputtering and misfiring. I shut the engine down, restarted and was able to drive it home. This same issue occurred a couple more times but each time it was restarted it drove okay. I started doing research and found a history of this same issue being reported by other owners and upon complaining to GM, nothing was done. I stopped driving the truck and it has been sit
... ting for 3 years now. On April 22 2024 I had the truck towed to Stingray Chevrolet to have the issue checked. I was informed that the engine was would need to be replaced at a cost estimated to be 18K. I had the truck towed back to my home and it has been sitting, until I decide what I am going to do. I have continued investigating and I have found where GM acknowledged there were engine issues that dated back from 2013/2014 more than 10 years where the same problems were reported. Several law suits were found to have been filed with some wins and some losses including class action suits. I wrote GM and asked them to step up, do the right thing and replace the engine. They refused naturally so I have been waiting, contemplating my actions but the fact still remains. GM built and sold defective engines back into the early 2000's and replaced these 5.3L V8's with another engine that there are still defects being reported. I would like for GM to fully replace the engine including all components and Auxiliary devices on my truck, at no cost to me. Give it another 100K mile guarantee and compensate me for the 3 years I have not been able to use my truck.Read more

A local independent garage has confirmed this is a known issue affecting XC90 models in cold-weather climates and identified the likely cause as failing or frozen actuators. This can be confirmed online with a simple google issue that it is a sever and prevalent safety issue. Especially with children riding int he back seats. The vehicle has been run with remote start and for extended periods in attempts to resolve the issue, and temporary measures like sprays or lubricants have not helped. The car had to run for 4 hours to be operable and it was only 10 degrees out. The problem has no warning lamps or messages and occurs only in cold weather. This vehicle’s engine failed on 10/25/21. This was 2 months after it was purchased. When we tried to have a Hyundai dealership diagnose the car, they said it would be an extended amount of time before the could look at it. The mechanic who replaced the engine said there was no oil splatter under the car that would indicate an oil leak. Now on 1/15/26, the 2nd engine has now failed for apparently the same recall. While applying brakes coming to a stop light, the vehicle gave a message stating service brakes. The brakes still felt normal. Then after a few minutes, the brakes felt like they suddenly stopped working and then the rear tires started locking up and releasing. The frong brakes felt like they were not working at all. Stopping distance approximately tripled and not really any way to adjust brak
... ing pressure. Releasing the pedal would give a 2ish second delay before the brakes would reapply upon hitting the pedal again, and withing 1 second would lock up the rear brakes again, starting the cycle over again. Took approximately 3 applications to fully stop in a safe manner. Luckily I was already driving slow due to the warning and was able stop before hitting the car in front. Was driving approximately 30 mph when this happened. Under normal circumstances and driving distances this would have not been possible. The car was taken to the Ford. They determined there was internal failure in the Electronic Brake Booster. The fix was to replace the full assembly (EBB, ABS, etc), and flush the brake fluid. Along with diagnostics of the issue, the cost was $4,100.87 to fix. Since replacing the EBB assembly, the problem has gone away. There were no other indictions of an issue before this happened. I know other Explorer years, and other models that use this same component have been recalled for similar issues as well, and think there is a issue with this module as well.Read more

I OWN A 2018 GMC SIERRA DENALI ULTIMATE, The truck has the 6.2 engine which had the lifter issue as stated with the current situation. At the time, the truck had 37,000 miles when the issues started. Now, the truck has piston slap and rod issues and currently at Hare Chevrolet for service. I was told I need a full rebuild ($12,000 dollars or a new engine $14000 dollars). As a retired Air Force veteran, I didn’t expect issues like this, especially when I baby the truck and it currently has 40,530 miles. I had regular oil changes and service, yet now stuck with a high class truck that has serious issues that seem to be ignored by GM and Andy Mohr GMC. Andy Mohr sold me an extended warranty at time of purchase but I paid for a year and a half that wasn’t usable. If I had that warranty I would be covered now.But besides that, it’s a Denali, I shouldn’t be having a new engine at 40,530 miles. I am happy that there is an investigation but it needs to be widened because my truck was right before the new model rollout but I am having the same issues. If needed, I have all my receipts and information and will provide the service rep at Hare. Incident Date: December 11, 2025 Vehicle: 2026 Tesla Model Y Location: DFW Airport, Irving, TX System: Full Self-Driving (Autopilot / FSD) Description: On December 11, 2025, my 2026 Tesla Model Y was operating under Full Self-Driving while exiting an airport when the vehicle struck a gate arm, causing property damage and windshield/body damage. No injuries occurred, but the collision happened whil
... e the FSD system was actively controlling the vehicle. Following the collision, I requested the vehicle operational and FSD engagement data from Tesla for the incident timeframe. Tesla provided a CSV dataset; however, the FSD engagement and autonomy decision-layer data were almost entirely missing, despite the vehicle being in motion and presumably under FSD control. On follow-up requests, Tesla stated they are unable to provide additional autonomy data and that “Tesla does not collect all your vehicle data,” despite marketing the system as Full Self-Driving and collecting extensive telemetry. This raises a safety concern because: 1.A collision occurred during FSD operation. 2.Tesla is not providing complete autonomy data for safety assessment. 3.There appears to be no transparency into FSD decision-making, object detection, or control authority at the time of impact. 4.Owners, insurers, and potentially regulators cannot review how FSD behaved during a safety-related event. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA is aware that: (1) A collision occurred under FSD control, and (2) Tesla refused complete operational autonomy logs for evaluation.Read more

I brought it to the attention of the dealership I go to each time I brought it in for service or other warranty issues. I feel like I was blown off & not taken seriously. When they finally found & pull up my extended warranty to look at what it covered & inspected the sun damage/defect On June 27, 2025 they told me the manufacturer's warranty expired & it was not covered under my extended warranty. I voiced my frustration, saying they knew about this issue for about a year & when it possibly could have been under the warranty but not it is not. I asked how I can escalate this & they gave my the consumer affairs phone # for Hyundai. I contacted them, case#[XXX], and at their request I went to a dealership for them to inspect the damage/defect. I was later told the same thing, it is out of warranty. After researching my issue, I have discovered this vehicle has a recall for this exact issue, but for different paint colors. Just not my SUVs color blue. Seeing how this damage happened in such a short period of time & the amount of damage/defect is not normal given that timeframe, I am worried about it getting worst quickly. The sunroof malfunctioned while I was attempting to open it, producing a loud pop and causing the glass to become misaligned while the vehicle was parked. There have been numerous reports of this same issue, including incidents in which the sunroof glass has shattered. This appears to be a known defect; however, Kia has refused to acknowledge responsibility or perform the necessary repairs. Kia
... has quoted the cost of repair at $5,800.Read more

1-At approximately 40,000 miles, my transmission was replaced under warranty. It had been failing since approximately 2000 miles having a very hard time shifting between first and second gear. It was finally replaced at 40,000 miles. 2- At approximately 45,000 miles I took my truck into the dealership for this latest recall on the 6.2 L failure for inspection. Vehicle is inspected and I was told I
... would need to have an engine replacement. I was told that there was no ETA on when a replacement engine would be available and that I would be contacted when one was. Afterwards I was sent back home in the truck they just inspected for potential engine failure and said had a bad engine. As of now, I’m still waiting on a word of a new engine and my truck is still operating, but leaves me concerned that it could fail at any moment while driving it.Read more

Toyota issued a recall on some 2025 Toyota Sienna’s. Our app notified us in October and we immediately took it to the dealership for a rental, as we were advised not to use the second row seats. We have to use those because we have 3 kids in car seats. The interim notice was not even mailed out until December. We were told they would start rolling out the fix for this issue in late December or J
... anuary. It is now January, and there is no update on the recall and nobody can get any information from Toyota. Our car has been sitting for over three months at the dealership, undrivable. They are not offering any compensation for people affected by this recall. Since it has been out of service for that long, it should should be a lemon law qualification. We did not purchase a brand new car for it to sit there unusable. There does not seem to be any urgency on Toyota‘s part for this to be fixed. We have no updates or information and this does not seem to be a priority for them. There are 55,000 vehicles affected. This is a large number of people, and somebody needs to put some real pressure on Toyota to fix the problem. This is unacceptable and somebody needs to look into this further. Please pass this along and do something about it because this is not fair to those of us who in good faith are making our payments every month on a car that we are not able to use. It’s basically sitting there rotting while Toyota takes their sweet time to figure out how to fix it. I am extremely unhappy and am looking for some type of recourse. And I know I am not the only one as I am seeing posts about it on online daily, from unhappy customers. This recall is due to a safety issue, if it’s so unsafe, why aren’t they fixing it?Read more

We have had issues with tires not wearing equally and tears on the inner tire/s shortly after replacing. This has happened twice so far. This has lead to air loss, severe vibration, and pulling while driving. Most recently, both back tires were losing air with one back tire having a structural issue on the inner portion of the tire making it unsafe to drive. We had just put on new tires in 1/2024
... and had to replace one of those before this issue because of a tear on the inner portion. Both back tires were replaced and rotated. Severe vibration and pulling occurred. We took it in to have balancing and an alignment done only to find out that all 4 rims are bent to varying degrees on the inner lip that meets with the tire. All 4 tires were wobbling significantly during the service to balance resulting in the inability to balance the tires. As there hasn’t been any occurrence that would have caused all 4 rims to bend in the exact same place, and reading about the defects of the coating on the rims as well as other wheel related issues, we felt it necessary to file a complaint. Living in a state where there is salt put on the roads as well as salt in the snow itself, peeling and premature wear to the rims due to the lack of a safe and sufficient coating, exposes the metal to the elements and excessive salt during the winter months. This in turn weakens the metal making it susceptible to bend and sustain damage it would not otherwise sustain. We now have to replace all 4 rims to eliminate the vibration and alignment issues.Read more

I pulled up to a traffic light at a busy intersection in Lubbock, TX, and the engine just shut down on approach to a red light. The vehicle still had power (radio, headlights, AC/heater, etc.) but the engine would not start or even turn over and try to start. The vehicle was towed to a Chevy dealership in Lubbock, TX, and they said they believed it was an internal engine failure but wouldn’t be
... able to look at it for several weeks. I had it transported to my hometown in Taylor, TX, and my certified mechanic replaced the starter and battery solenoid but the engine still wouldn’t start. They drained the oil and found metal shavings in the oil. They too believe that the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and needs to be replaced.Read more
