While driving in my uncongested neighborhood, my brakes totally failed. Dash indicated multiple brake failure warnings. I managed to get my truck stopped and returned home by engaging my low range, four wheel drive. The starter started dragging about a year ago and on November 12 the 2019 GMC truck would not start. We had it towed to Harper GMC in Minden, La. They told us the motor was locked up. 8/26/2025 I purchased the vehicle from Maguire in Syracuse, NY with open recalls. It is my understanding a dealership is required to have these fixed prior to selling a vehicle. I now have to drive 45 mins each way to get them fixed and miss additional 2 hours for wait time from work. Brakes could fail causing an accident.

I am an active U.S. Air Force member. My 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 failed GM Recall N252494003 on Sept 29, 2025 (L87 engine loss of propulsion). GM states this defect can cause sudden engine failure and loss of propulsion, increasing crash risk. Despite the confirmed failure, Ocean Cadillac (Miami, FL) told me to keep driving the unsafe vehicle and refused all Courtesy Transportation. The Service Manag

His statements contradict the GM documents he attached: • GM Bulletin DCS7222 says Courtesy Transportation CAN be provided during L87 recall downtime and dealers MUST consider loaners/rentals. • GM FAQ N252494002 says Courtesy Transportation IS available for this recall. • GM FAQ lists recall symptoms (check engine light, hesitation, high RPM, reduced power) — NOT battery drain. • GM states: “If the engine fails, the vehicle WILL lose propulsion.” Ocean Cadillac ignored these rules and put me back on the road in a known unsafe vehicle. As an American manufacturer, GM has a responsibility to protect American drivers. Their failure to follow recall procedures placed me, my family, and other motorists at risk. I request NHTSA investigate whether GM/Ocean Cadillac are complying with recall safety requirements and whether customers are being told to drive unsafe vehicles after confirmed failures.Read more

This is a follow-up to two previous complaints. The first complaint was filed around 5/22/25, and the second complaint was filed around 7/08/25. The complaint is related to a 2022 GMC Yukon that we purchased new. As reported in the previous complaints, we experienced several problems with the suspension and steering of the vehicle. The SUV continues to have a knocking, cracking, snapping noise com
... ing from the front suspension when making a right or left turn, or u-turn. The dealer has made several attempts to fix it, but continues to occur. The warning lights continue to be set on and off, but not as often. The infoentertainment system as well. One of the other reported issues was the low oil warning light coming up and thus oil consumption. The SUV was taken to the dealer on 9/11/25, and the GMC service staff reported the SUV, during the summer hot days, was 1.9, almost two quarts. They asked to drive the SUV for an additional 2000 miles, and it was short by .9 quart. GMC claimed it is normal, but per their recommendations on oil changes, the vehicle would be 7 quarts between oil changes unless the driver checks the level every 1500 to 2000 miles. Not only was the information misleading as they denied to perform any services, but also is a safety concern for the damages it can cause to the vehicle, especially if it goes on safety mode. Around 7/24/25, we submitted a request for a buy-back to GM, which they approved 30 days later; however, they still have not made good on the promise, and the vehicle remains with these safety, operational, and mechanical issues.Read more

The vehicle brake system completely failed. The brake pedal was depressed and several warning lights were illuminated on the dash, yet the vehicle would not come to a complete stop. At the time of failure, the abs light, parking brake light, traction control light, and collision light illuminated on the driver display. Additionally, the dash displayed a message requesting the driver to depres
... s brake pedal hard and to “service ESC”. The brake pedal felt soft and would go all the way towards the floor. The vehicle had very limited braking and would not come to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to a GM dealership for diagnosis and repair. The dealership confirmed that the brake system had failed and there was inadequate stopping force being produced. The entire master cylinder assembly which includes the hydraulic valve block and electric motor were replaced under warranty. The vehicle had 24,638 miles at the time of failure. Prior to the failure, there were zero indications that there were any issues with the brake system. Fortunately when the brake system failed the vehicle had just backed away from a parking spot and pulled forward towards a stop sign at low speed. The potential concern was that pedestrians, fellow motorists or the driver of the vehicle could have experienced significant injury or death due to the vehicle’s brakes failing.Read more

I was driving on a two-lane road when unexpectedly my front moonroof spontaneously shattered sending glass down on top of me, the console area, and the passenger and rear seating areas of my 2025 GMC Acadia. It happened without warning and no external factors. It was a pleasant sunny November day. The moonroof was not open at the time. Fortunately no one else was in the vehicle with me at the time
... and no other cars were nearby since the two-lane is not a heavy traffic area. This put my safety at risk and could have put others at risk had others been in the vehicle or nearby since I was startled and had the natural reaction of crouching over and down in an attempt to protect myself therefore taking my eyes off the road and not paying enough attention to driving the vehicle. Glass could have fallen and hurt other passengers. The remaining moonroof glass crackled and I then looked up in shock wondering what happened and then feared glass fall into my eyes and immediately looked down away from the moonroof. I had just left my residence before the incident and was less than two miles from home. I found the next available place to turn around and drive back to my home and exit the vehicle. I then called the dealership I bought the vehicle from in January 2025, new. I also called GM Customer Service to seek assistance. The vehicle has 7125 miles. There were no warning signs. The incident happened today and no one has inspected the vehicle and its damage. A customer service case was opened with GM. I sent pictures to the dealer service manager who said he attached the pictures to my GM case online.Read more

This is a report on an incident that happened a year ago. Vehicle was taken to GMC dealer who replaced the engine at our expense. Seems to be consistent with the problem on newer GMC's that have been covered by a recall. This 2020 is one of three GMC's owned by our company. This expense was in the $12,000 range. (The 2019 experienced similar issues in 2022 and the expense was $2800 ish, and in
... 2024 another $1200 ish. ) Dash lit up like a Christmas tree, all warning lights on. Stalled, barely moved.Read more

The vehicle engine experienced a failure on the highway at very high speeds with no warnings leading up to this occurrence, same as many of the experiences of the customers with the 6.2L engines, which have been recalled for these defects. This GMC Yukon has the 5.3L engine, however, has the same defects as the 6.2L engine, excessive oil consumption and eventually engine failure. I am without a ve
... hicle, with an extremely high car loan, and have to replace an engine in a two year old $75,000 vehicle. This should be covered by GM as it was a known issue and continues to be sold to unknowing customers. Furthermore, I am paying even more money to put another engine in this vehicle with the potential of having the same issues as the problem has not been corrected. This is deceptive and theft by GM in my opinion, and not safe to have engines failing in the highway with no warnings at all.Read more

Vehicle has had check engine light and engine reduced power flicking on and off for months, randomly reducing power on highway or nearly causing accidents. Brought car to GMC dealer, they said it was underboost code and needed new turbo. Paid over 7,000$ for repair. Next morning, same issue still was happening. I believe my vehicle has EMISSIONS recall issue “N192271200 Charge Air Cooler Disconn
... ect at Throttle Body” but GM has not properly attached my vin number for this recall repair. I have poured thousands into repairs out of pocket and the same issue still persists. I believe strongly the recall emission issue is the problem and should be on my vin. Vehicle has been to dealer 3 times in the past 2 weeks, issue has not been fixed. Improperly diagnosed, random repairs made not fixing actual issue.Read more
