I am reporting a safety incident involving the power sliding door system on my 2018 Honda Odyssey. Today, Monday, February 9th 2026, my 3 year old child’s arm was caught and compressed by the power sliding door. At the time, she pressed the interior door button while I simultaneously pulled the exterior door handle. The door began to open, my child placed her arm out, and the door then closed o
... n her arm instead of reversing. The door did not release or reverse automatically. I was unable to open it using the exterior handle and had to stretch to the front dashboard, left sliding door open button to stop and reopen the door to free her arm. Thankfully this didn’t happen on the passenger side sliding door! This resulted in redness, swelling, and pain, and she later woke from sleep crying due to increased pain. She is undergoing medical evaluation. The vehicle is equipped with pinch protection sensors that failed to prevent this injury. This appears to be a serious safety malfunction involving a child. I am submitting this report so the issue can be documented and reviewed for potential investigation. I have not seen a recall involving the sliding doors sensors having this issue.Read more

I am writing to formally report a significant structural failure regarding the power liftgate system on my 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE. Recently, the trunk began failing to close properly. Upon a detailed inspection, I discovered that the sheet metal surrounding the hinges has suffered catastrophic failure. The left-side hinge mounting point is severely fractured, and the right side is exhibiting
... clear stress cracks. This is not a case of "wear and tear." This is a structural failure where the force exerted by the factory power struts appears to have overpowered the vehicle's body structure, leading to metal fatigue and tearing. I would like to emphasize the following points regarding this case: Maintenance & Care: This vehicle has been maintained strictly according to Toyota’s recommended intervals and has been handled with the utmost care. There has been no external impact or misuse of the liftgate. Safety Risk: The inability to securely latch the trunk poses a severe safety hazard. I am concerned about the liftgate's stability at highway speeds and the potential for exhaust fumes to enter the cabin. Consequently, I no longer feel safe using this vehicle for my daily commute. Request for Action: Given that this appears to be a known issue within the 2019–2021 RAV4 production years, I am requesting that Toyota stand behind its reputation for quality and safety. I ask that Toyota cover the full cost of the structural repairs and the replacement of the affected hinges and struts. I trust that Toyota will treat this as a priority safety matter. I look forward to your prompt response regarding a diagnostic appointment and a resolution for these repairs. On 12/22/2025, my fiancé and I purchased a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport from LaFontaine Ford in Lansing, MI. During the initial purchase, we were not aware of any recalls or vehicle defects with the Bronco Sport. Roughly one month later, the check engine light came on, and after a thorough vehicle inspection, we were notified that there was a recall on the vehicle in regards to bad fuel injector(s),
... and that we needed to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for a computer update. After dropping the vehicle off at the dealership, we were notified that the engine was blown due to a cylinder misfire as a result of a bad fuel injector. We were also advised that the dealership had already completed the computer update prior to our purchase and cleared out the codes (critical misfire). The negligence of the dealership put my fiancé in extreme danger with selling us a vehicle with a critical fault that could cause a vehicle fire! The problem still has not been remedied as Ford is asking up to pay $3,483.00 for a new engine with them covering $4,457.00. I believe all of this should be covered under the recall and/or powertrain warranty since this issue has been well documented with Ford Bronco's prior to us purchasing the vehicle.Read more

I am writing to formally document a series of catastrophic mechanical failures involving my vehicle, as well as serious inaccuracies currently reflected on the Carfax report. At approximately 15,000 miles, my vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure that required a full engine replacement. Less than 900 miles after the engine replacement, the vehicle then suffered a catastrophic transmis
... sion failure, which also required replacement. In connection with the transmission failure, there was also a fuel module issue that left me stranded. These failures were not minor or routine service events. One breakdown occurred on a major roadway and required the road to be shut down due to the vehicle being disabled. Another breakdown occurred on the Florida Turnpike as a result of complete engine failure, leaving me stranded in a highly dangerous situation. Despite the severity of these events, the Carfax report does not accurately reflect what occurred. The Carfax report does not state that the engine was replaced, and the transmission failure is not identified as a transmission replacement at all. Instead, it is reported as routine or normal service, without any indication that a catastrophic transmission failure or replacement occurred. This misrepresentation significantly understates the true condition and mechanical history of the vehicle. Due to the repeated catastrophic failures, the circumstances under which they occurred, and the risk posed to my safety and the safety of my family, I am genuinely afraid to drive this vehicle. I want to ensure that all of this information is properly documented and that the vehicle’s records accurately reflect its true history and condition.Read more

On two separate occasions, while driving at approximately 60 mph on New York parkways, my vehicle unexpectedly shifted into neutral and lost power without warning. During the first incident, a message appeared instructing me to “press start to continue.” I was able to restart the vehicle and drive home. Two days later, the same failure occurred again under similar conditions. This time, after
... pulling over and pressing the start button, the vehicle shut off completely and became totally inoperable. The vehicle had no power and would not restart. At the time of this second incident: - I had my [XXX] child in the vehicle - The outside temperature was approximately 20 degrees - Recent snow made it difficult to pull fully off the parkway - Police assistance was required to ensure our safety - We waited nearly two hours for a tow truck due to the hazardous roadside conditions This situation was frightening, dangerous, and completely unacceptable in a modern vehicle with approximately 24,000 miles. When GMC evaluated the vehicle the following day, I was informed that it requires a full engine replacement. A catastrophic engine failure at this mileage — combined with repeated, sudden loss of power at highway speeds — represents a serious safety defect that substantially impairs the use, value, and safety of the vehicle. I am reporting a catastrophic engine failure involving my 2023 GMC Yukon XL Denali, which was subject to a GM-issued recall related to engine failure. On January 10, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., while traveling at highway speed (approximately 65+ mph) on a multi-lane highway, the engine suddenly failed without warning, resulting in a complete loss of power. I was forced to make immediate eva

The sudden loss of power created an extremely dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and surrounding traffic. After the engine failure, the vehicle could not be placed into neutral, preventing it from being moved out of traffic if it had stopped in an active lane. This design issue significantly increased the risk of a collision. I was stranded on the roadside for several hours in cold conditions awaiting a tow. The failure was later confirmed by an authorized GMC dealer, who diagnosed the engine as failed and replaced the entire engine assembly. The vehicle and replaced components should be available for inspection through the dealership. The manufacturer had previously issued a recall for this vehicle related to engine failure, and I had requested a buyback prior to this incident due to safety concerns. That request was denied unless the vehicle experienced a failure. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The only warning message appeared after the engine failed, indicating an engine overheating or “engine hot” condition, which occurred after power was already lost. This incident represents a serious safety defect that resulted in loss of propulsion at highway speed with no advance warning.Read more

My 2020 Ford Edge Titanium experienced a complete transmission failure at just 65,898 miles—less than 6,000 miles beyond the factory warranty. Fortunately, I had purchased a Lifetime Limited Warranty through a third-party provider, American Colonial Administration, LLC. During my research on the 8F35 transmission, I discovered numerous consumer complaints, particularly affecting the 2019–2021

The warranty company covered $9,791.29, leaving me responsible for $1,804.98 out of pocket, in addition to $408 for towing and $421 for a one-week rental car. My vehicle remained in the shop for a total of 33 days, leaving me without transportation for 26 days. I contacted Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan to request cost assistance, given the documented issues with the 8F35 transmission. While driving, the truck suddenly shifted into 3rd gear. I stopped the vehicle, put it into park, shut the engine off, restarted the truck, put it back into drive and it immediately went into 3rd gear. I was unable to get the transmission to work properly so I had it towed to the dealership where I bought it.

I paid almost 3,500 dollars and Kia kept my car two months and I’m still having transmission issues and now they are asking for service receipts. After I picked up my vehicle from the original transmission repair I was back in less than 7 days because transmission was roughly jumping in gear and shifting horribly with burning smell. The technician noticed the problem and immediately took my car
... to the back but they kept my car another 30 days saying that they did an update and now I’m stuck suffering with a struggling transmission. My mpg has drastically dropped on this vehicle to a 9.6 and that is not normal. I paid cash and Kia need to help me in any way. They are trying to wait until the 12,000 mile warranty runs out and leave me stuck and that’s not fair when I’ve been complaining since I picked up the car the second time but they won’t assist me now. My Vehicle experiences delayed transmission engagement, RPM increases without acceleration, hesitation, and loss of fuel economy. Dealer refuses diagnosis unless complete failure occurs. This creates unpredictable vehicle response and loss of power concerns. Transmission hard shifts and jerks violently during gear changes and acceleration, causing loss of smooth power delivery and unsafe vehicle behavior.Read more

The vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and engine-related malfunctions, including random engine shutdowns while driving and random no-start conditions. The thermostat and cooling system failed and were replaced in 2024. Multiple sensors have failed. The braking system remains noisy even after brake replacement. The lane detection safety system does not provide audible alerts. The vehicle
... is currently operational and available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle has randomly shut off while driving on both highways and city roads in Azle, Texas. This occurred while my two children were in the vehicle. When the engine shut off, there was a risk of losing power steering and braking assist, which could have caused an accident, especially at highway speeds and in traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The thermostat and cooling system failure were confirmed and repaired by a service center in 2024. Electrical and sensor issues have occurred repeatedly but have not been fully diagnosed or resolved. Brake noise persists despite replacement. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? UNKNOWN. The vehicle has been serviced by repair facilities, but the manufacturer has not provided a definitive diagnosis for the engine shutdown and electrical failures. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure? When did they first appear? Yes. Various warning lights and symptoms appeared prior to failures, including cooling system warnings and sensor alerts. Electrical issues and battery failures have occurred repeatedly, with batteries lasting only 2–3 years. Symptoms began after purchase and have continued throughout ownership.
