My 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Limited (6.2L L87) had an engine recall performed by an authorized GMC dealer (Paul Masse Buick GMC) in November 2025. Prior to the recall service, the vehicle had no check-engine lights, no drivability issues, and no knock-related symptoms. Immediately after picking up the vehicle from the recall service, the check-engine light illuminated within seconds of leaving the d
... ealership parking lot. I returned the vehicle immediately. The dealer diagnosed a failed knock sensor and replaced it at my expense. There were no prior warning signs or symptoms before the recall visit. General Motors declined responsibility, classifying the issue as an out-of-warranty repair and confirming only that the recall procedure was followed. GM did not evaluate whether dealer handling, component disturbance, or recall-related activity contributed to the immediate failure. I am submitting this complaint because the failure occurred directly after recall service, suggesting a possible recall-adjacent issue or unintended consequence of recall procedures, and because GM declined to investigate causation beyond procedural compliance.Read more

Since August 2024, my brake booster has gone a total of five times each time with the notification on the dash service brake assist. And it just went again as of two days ago. I called them yesterday to tell them that it went again and they refused to fix it telling me that they got the part from the

mechanical and electrical issues with my GMC Sierra Elevation Duramax Diesel, purchased in 2021. Despite multiple dealership visits, diagnostic evaluations, repairs, and software updates, these issues persist and have significantly impacted the reliability and safety of the vehicle. In December 2025, my vehicle was taken to the dealership for diagnostics and a third software update intended to re
... solve recurring engine-related faults. Throughout 2025, the check engine light illuminated on approximately 30 occasions, confirmed by at-home diagnostic scans. The same diagnostic code related to the 1) SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 Catalyst 2 P2C7A - Engine I 2) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler Efficiency Below Threshold P14D9 - Engine has appeared repeatedly since the vehicle was first purchased in 2021. Additionally, on approximately 15 occasions in 2025, the vehicle failed to start. When pressing the ignition button, the engine screeched while attempting to turn over for 20 to 45 seconds, after which the vehicle powered off entirely. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, the vehicle would then start normally. Notably, during these no-start events, no check engine light or diagnostic code appeared, and the engine light and starting failure have never occurred simultaneously. hese same concerns were explicitly explained to service technicians during the most recent recall repair in 2025. I was informed that a software update would resolve the issue. However, the problems have continued. A similar frequency of failures occurred throughout 2024. At that time, GMC advised that the issue was likely the vehicle’s battery. Acting on this recommendation, I had the battery replaced at my expense in October 2024 by the dealership. This repair did not resolve the issue. From the time of purchase in 2021 through January 2024, these same symptoms occurred approximately 10 times, demonstrating a long-standing and unresolved defect.Read more

On a highway about an hour from home, my brand new vehicle with 5,318 miles on it, alarmed me to turn off the vehicle. I was going 75 mph. I pulled over and called GMC being that I just had an oil change and thought maybe they possibly didn't reset something. The vehicle said the oil pressure was low. The dealership advised me to check the oil. It was full and clean. The service person advis
... ed that I should be able to continue to drive. I then called my husband. Upon starting the vehicle it was making a noise coming from underneath the vehicle. He said do not drive that vehicle and he headed to come get me. We had it towed to a nearby dealership around 6 pm. I called GMC again because the tow truck driver could not figure out how to put the vehicle in neutral. The told us to hold the start button down but do not push the brake. That didn't work. The tow truck driver put plastic slides under the back tires and dragged it onto the tow truck bed. The service center was closed so we were unable to speak to anyone. Days later we were told the engine seized. It took 3 guys to get into the bay. GMC advised the dealership service to take apart the engine in order to investigate the failure. They did and established it was a bearing. It was in the shop for 52 days. I was told the replaced engine was a remanufactured engine by GMC and by the service center more than once. I was very angry. I bought a new vehicle, not a used one. Then I was told it was a new engine. Since I purchased this vehicle I feel like there have been soft truths. I'm not sure what to believe. Upon picking up my repaired vehicle there was not a drop of gas in it and 77 miles added to the mileage. I get that the vehicle needs to be test driven but that seems like a lot. I think new engine, new odometer starting at 0? I bought a new vehicle for safety. I have a 2006 GMC Yukon that has been very reliable which is why we purchased the Acadia. I seriously do not feel safe.Read more

After noticing a "groaning/moaning" sound from the vehicle when turning sharp at low speeds the vehicle was brought into a dealership to be inspected. After inspection, the mechanic stated that the sound is coming from the rear differential and that it would need to be flushed/cleaned up to three times as a potential correction. If the clean/flush does not correct the issue, they would need to rep
... lace the entire rear differential. When asked what happens if the rear differential fails, we were advised that we could experience total failure and lock up. This is a safety issue in that if we are driving and the wheels lock up the potential for collision or major accidents is high. I also understand that the differential is meant to last the life of the vehicle and had 123k miles, the life of the vehicle is far from over. Another issue we are experiencing is excessive oil burning. The vehicle "add engine oil" light comes on after 2,500 miles when being regularly maintenanced. The vehicle should not require the addition of oil after that many miles, more so should not require oil at all unless you weren't properly maintaining the vehicle (which is not the case). I understand issues arise and things happen; I just want this to be acknowledged as a potential safety issue and corrected. Thank you,Read more

Purchased this vehicle used with having 34k miles. Currently has 37k. Powertrain is still under warranty. I will be taking it in to have looked at. The truck has already been in for rear main seal failure and the dealership failed to investigate the transmission issue as far as I know. The issue is with the transmission and shifting, specifically going into second gear. While going into seco
... nd gear the truck feels like it is in neutral for a couple seconds then ultimately gets its 2nd gear. This appears to only happen after the truck has been sitting off for some time. Between a few hours and overnight. The biggest concern for me was when this happened as I pulled out into the road and was left without propulsion for a brief moment with oncoming traffic. If driving in snow I feel like once the gear grabs, would likely cause a spin-out in front of traffic. This is a serious safety concern. There are no warning lamps or messages on the dash for this issue. This is a 2022 GMC Sierra Limited Elevation crew cab 2.7L V4 with turbo.Read more
