My vehicle was part of the GM Engine recall. Took it to dealer to see if the vehicle passed, it did. Now, engine has 0w40 oil in it about 1,000 miles later, just at 50,000 miles the truck had a catastrophic engine failure.

We received a notification that our 2023 GMG Yukon Denali Ultimate engine needed to be tested as a part of a recall. We took the vehicle to our local GMC dealership. The engine was tested and determined to "pass". The "pass", we were told, meant that we did not need a new engine, just thicker oil, and that the engine was safe. My vehicle failed the Picotest that GM is conducting on the engine. It is currently sitting at Romain GMC in Evansville Indiana. I am not sure if I was at risk but the dealership says it's unsafe to drive so my assumption is that my safety was at risk. The dealership states that it will take 3 months before a new engine is installed. There were no symptoms leading up to this recall inspection.

The radio dead out randomly. Which means the back up camera is non working. I wasn’t able to see a stump and hit it. Doesn’t seem safe. Like what would has happened if it was a person instead and they like the stump was in my blind spot while backing up. I feel like this is a safety issue. I have looked it up online and found out this is a common issue with these vehicles.

While accelerating on the highway the truck started to vibrate along with a loud tick, CEL came on for misfire and traction control, hard shifting to where I could park at a safe area to wait for a tow. Kids in the car with me 90 plus degree day on the side of the highway.

Vehicle was brought in for Campaign #25V274000 (6.2liter engine failure) and passed the manufacturer's testing. The oil was changed to a heavier weight with a new filter installed. Appx 770 miles later, the engine suffered a total failure. The engine was replaced under manufacturers warranty.
