While at a stop light, with start/stop active, I released the brake, which should have "reactivated" the car. Instead, it shut down. I got a quick transmission service error on the dash. Once I put the car in park and turned it off and then on again, it functioned properly. I. The meantime I was being honked at from everyone missing the green light behind me.

I am filing this complaint due to a GREAT safety concern with my vehicle. I am a law enforcement officer as well as a firefighter. I was notified that there was a safety recall on my vehicle. The recall was for the hydraulic control unit ("HCU"). One of the risks of said recall is the loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. After being notified about said
... recall, I notified several Ram Service locations in my area as well as the surrounding areas of where I reside. Each and every one of the service personnel or advisors I spoke with told me “there is not a remedy for the recall as of yet due to parts not being available.” When asked what I needed to do at that point, I was told to continue to drive my vehicle. Each dealership I spoke with stated they did not offer loaner vehicles, and did not know when parts would be available to fix said recall. That brings me to my complaint. On the morning of January 21, 2025 at approximately 05:47, I was driving my daughter to school then I was going to go to work there after. When I left my residence, I approached a stop sign to make a right turn. When I made the right turn, my front driver’s side wheel, locked up and pulled the vehicle hard to the left causing me to nearly strike a sheriff patrol officer and crash into a nearby residence. My daughter and I are severely shaken by this incident, and it could have been tremendously worse than it was. The Ram service departments should not be encouraging anyone to continue driving the vehicle models with this recall. It nearly killed my daughter and I. We have never experienced anything like this. This vehicle is not, and it has not been safe for operations for my family. Due to this incident I no longer have a drivable vehicle, and I still have to make the payments on said vehicle. I have looked into this problem and have found out there are two class action lawsuits in different states due to this problem. This is not a new issue.Read more

This morning i heard about the recall of 63,000 jeeps from 2017-2019 for the power failure in the PTU. I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and i have experienced the same EXACT issue! I currently have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I'm the original owner. This Saturday, January 25th, I am turning it in for the PTU to be replaced. This will be my 2nd PTU replacement. . I was told that this 2nd
... PTU has a different Part Number than the OEM, or the last one. Thus making it slightly designed differently (i dont know the factual of this statement). *** In the last year, and mostly during warmer months, I have experienced MULTIPLE complete power failures of my Jeep. Anywhere from driving, and/or slow parking. it has even happended at times when taking an off ramp from the highway! I have had other people in the Jeep when this has happened. I was told that I have a loose battery terminal connection. So I went out and purchased the Battery Post Shims to increase the posts thickness on the battery. This did not resolve the problem. Since June 2024 I have been on MOPAR's waiting list for this replacment PTU and I finally received it a couple weeks ago. It is now winter and for some reason the power failure does not happen, but there is a consistent clicking in the front end. Not thinking it was the PTU because it has been replaced already, I thought it was the CV Joint so I bought that part. When i got to the dealership to have the work completed, they informed me that it is NOT the CV Joint, but definitely the PTU. So that is how I have been on the waiting list since June 2024. This morning i heard about the recall of 63,000 jeeps from 2017-2019 for the power failure in the PTU. I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and i have experienced the same EXACT issue! My wife and I have a 2025 Carnival SX Prestige Hybrid. We live in northern Maryland (lots of cold days lately!). This exact issue has happened three times and counting. While driving, our car will randomly lose all ability to accelerate. You can press the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and it will not gain speed. It seems to happen at lower speeds, around 30mph and it just caps off and will n
... ot accelerate and lose all power. The only thing that fixes the issue is literally pulling over and restarting the car, and then it drives fine. We took it into the dealer after the second incident and they claimed that a camera was just obstructed by ice, so the car probably thought it detected something in front of us so it stopped accelerating as a safety feature. To that, I said “but if the car thought there was something in front of us, it would have applied emergency braking, not just simply stopping any acceleration”… to which they replied “yeah I don’t know. Cars these days are just a giant rolling computer”. The dealer just could not replicate the issue, so they had no way of really seeing or diagnosing it, which I understand but still frustrating. They said they drove it 3 times but it didn’t happen. But again, it happens randomly (though cold weather seems to be a common factor). So we left and said okay, they tried, they cleared off the camera, let’s see what happens. One week later (this morning) happened again. Taking into the dealer this evening. We have a Case open with the Kia Customer Care “Escalations” team. But they’ve been no help.Read more

Suspension Related Issue: CV Axel Joints causing clicking, which is the most common issue among users of this car. Apparently the Driveshaft needs to get replaced as well. ... the car as per dealer's recommendation to do so. Braking: The One Pedal feature turns off at random when starting the Car. Almost got into an accident not knowing it was off. Dealer cannot replicate the issue, but it happens to me randomly. It's to the point I have to check that first before operating the vehicle. Could be the memory of the vehicle not retaining the settings. Blind Spot Warning: The sound notification has recently turned off and is no longer working. Needs to be inspected by Dealer. Off-topic: Some Dealers only have 1 certified technician to work on the car. You're at the mercy of their availability when something needs to get fixed.Read more

Component/System Malfunction: The Audi Pre-Sense system has malfunctioned on multiple occasions. The system is available for inspection upon request. What Happened: On two separate occasions, the Pre-Sense system erroneously activated while making an unprotected left turn at a signal-controlled intersection. In both instances, the left turn signal was activated. After waiting for an oncoming vehi
... cle to pass, I began the left turn. Despite the vehicle having passed, the Pre-Sense system activated, incorrectly perceiving the passing car as a threat. The system abruptly engaged emergency braking, locking the car in place and stalling it in the middle of the intersection. This left my two minor children and me stranded in oncoming traffic, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. On a separate occasion, while driving straight in a lane with no intention of turning, the Pre-Sense system activated again. This time, the vehicle next to me slowed to make a left turn in its lane, which triggered my car's system to abruptly stop and stall in traffic. Risk to Safety: These malfunctions placed my family and other road users in immediate danger of a collision. In the left-turn incidents, the car stalled in the middle of an intersection with oncoming traffic approaching. In the straight-driving incident, the sudden stop created a risk of being rear-ended in traffic. Attempts to Resolve: After the first two incidents, I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. A full diagnostic test was conducted, and I was told the Pre-Sense system was functioning "properly" with no repairs needed. Dealership staff admitted they had experienced similar Pre-Sense malfunctions in their own vehicles but dismissed the issue. I was advised to ensure my left turn signal was activated, despite already confirming the signal was on during both incidents. Warning Lamps or Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem before the failures occurred.Read more

We purchased a new 2021 GMC Yukon Denali in July 2021.We have had continuous issues with the truck starting almost immediately after we purchased it and ending with a catastrophic engine failure despite only have ~81,000 miles on it. Despite regular oil changes and maintenance, we have experienced non-stop problems with the truck * Aug 2022 (29,470 miles): Engine wire chaffing relating to the fuel pressure sensor. Transmission slipping. * Oct 2022 (34,220 miles): “Grinding noises” related to brakes. Faulty brake sensor and brake replacement. * Nov 2022 (35,954 miles): Continued “grinding noises” * May 2023 (51,163 miles): Continued “grinding noises” which were again “shrugged off” by the dealership despite us bringing in the truck for the 3rd time related to this issue. Transmission slipping (transmission torn down, clutch assembly replaced, etc.) * Oct 2023 (62,365 miles): Continued “grinding noises” (4th time bringing the truck in for this reason). * Sep 2024 (81,000 miles): Catastrophic engine failure while driving on a busy road at 55 mph. Based on discussions with a wide range of mechanics, dealerships, shops, individuals within the automative industry, we have come to understand that the issues we have been facing with our truck are not unique. To be clear, we have experienced: i) the same problem repeatedly over a short period of time; ii) repeated unsuccessful attempts to fix the same issues; iii) a prolonged period for repairs where we did not have the vehicle; and iv) significant value loss due to catastrophic engine failure. Further, these problems compromised the safety of my family and has significantly disrupted our life.Read more

While driving, I was starting to move following being stopped at a stop light and the truck experienced a complete engine seizure. I had it towed to the dealership I purchased the vehicle at and after a day or two, they indicated that GM's recommended fix to this particular issue was a complete engine replacement. The engine replacement couldn't be scheduled in a reasonable time. Grant it that
... the repair would have been covered under warranty and they would provide me a rental until such time it could be fixed, I decided to trade the vehicle in on an equivalent 2024 model (same truck 2 years newer) after being assured that it was an isolated incident and not part of a systemic problem. I only am writing this since I read an article the other day indicating that the NHTSA was launching a potential investigation into the same issue based on 39 complaints, at that time, regarding the GMC's 6.2L V8 small block engine. I wanted to let your organization know of my issue as well since I would assume that there are far more than 39 people/owners that had experience this problem. At a minimum, I make 40. In addition, I am now concerned about my 2024 GMC since it has the same motor in it. The article mentioned that there has not been injuries associated with the engine seizure. This is not surprising to me. It actually happened twice in my 2022; the first time in my driveway and another on the road. Note, after sitting for a couple of days in my driveway, it had started right up. I went for a ride to test it out and that is when the final instance happened. Both instances occurred when the auto off feature was engaged and only seized when trying to move from the auto "off" position back onto the "on" (engine running) position so I was not moving in either instance. Again, I am not concerned that this issue will arise in my new vehicle.Read more

This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the vehicle in July 2024. It has become so bad that the vehicle is nearly un-driveable. And while FORD might state it is an "inconvenience", when driving on the highway and a cylinder just randomly shuts down, the vehicle loses power and backfires and vibrates it is a safety concern. We have had this 2025 Mazda CX-50 hybrid for a couple of months. On January 21, 2025, my wife tried to start it after shopping at a Dollar store. I called the service department, and all they said was to bring it in if it does it again. No one has looked at it. Really wasn't any risk to her since she was in town. But had it happened somewhere where she didn't have phone service, it could have put her at risk. I don't really know what happened, but the biggest thing is the worry that it will do it again.Read more

The vehicle has persistent issues with its software and safety systems, creating significant safety risks. The Remote Software Upgrade feature fails to install, despite indicating it is “ready to install” with preparations complete. This prevents critical updates that could address safety and performance defects. BMW Customer Support was unable to resolve the issue, and a local dealership conf
... irmed no hardware faults but could not address the software issue due to limitations as a non-BMW-certified service center. Several critical safety features also do not function properly. The Blind Spot Warning system has never issued alerts, leaving the driver unaware of vehicles in adjacent lanes. The Forward Collision Warning system has never activated, even in close proximity to other vehicles. The Lane Departure Warning fails to consistently activate, while Lane Keeping Assistance operates only intermittently, despite being designed to engage above 40 mph. Additionally, the Parking Collision Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning systems have never provided alerts, even when obstacles or approaching vehicles are present. These malfunctions severely compromise the vehicle’s ability to prevent accidents and ensure safety. The vehicle also intermittently displays drivetrain failure warnings, stating the car can still be driven but should be serviced. Upon inspection, no issues were identified. Consistent fault codes for the active kidney grille shutters appear, but no check engine light is illuminated. These recurring warnings create uncertainty about the vehicle’s reliability and the accuracy of its diagnostics. The combination of these issues places the driver, passengers, and others at risk. A thorough investigation is needed to identify and resolve the root causes. All systems are available for inspection upon request.Read more
