I own a 2023 GMC Yukon Denali. In Nov. 2023, at about 4,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a complete engine and electrical failure at highway speed while I was traveling with my husband and three small children. It suddenly lost all power in the fast lane, including acceleration and engine function. Steering became extremely heavy, consistent with loss of power steering assist, and the electronics s
... hut down. We had to guide the vehicle across traffic while coasting downhill to the shoulder beyond a guardrail. Traffic had to avoid us, creating a serious safety hazard. The vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed and required a complete engine replacement under warranty. After that replacement, additional issues followed. There was an HVAC/defrost concern. In June 2025, the vehicle again became inoperable without warning while parked at a store. It would not start despite repeated attempts, including by a dealership representative. A diagnostic scan produced over a page of error codes, but the dealership could not identify a cause and stated the vehicle was safe. In Dec. 2025, the vehicle engine was inspected under a recall and I was told there were no issues. In Feb. 2026, the vehicle lost heat and was found to have no coolant despite regular maintenance and recent inspection. In Mar. 2026, at about 37,700 miles, the vehicle developed a loud clunking noise while driving. I stopped driving and returned it to the dealership, where I was told the engine had failed again and required another full replacement. The vehicle has now had two engine failures and three engines installed in less than three years. There were no warning lights or prior indications before these failures. I no longer believe this vehicle is safe or reliable for transporting my family.Read more

The 2017 GMC Yukon has serious transmission issues that GM continues to ignore, and it is going to get someone hurt. I was stopped at a red light, and when it turned green, I pressed the gas pedal but the car would not move. I pressed harder, and then it suddenly lurched forward about 30 feet. If there had been a car in front of me, I would have hit them and likely caused injuries. When I took it
... to the dealership, they said it needed a full transmission replacement, which was not covered. I had to pay out of pocket. I was only about $10,000 outside the warranty when it failed, and GM refused to stand behind their product or help in any way. I was already financing the vehicle and should not have had to pay for a new transmission on a car that was less than four years old with relatively low miles. This is not just my experience. Many others have had the same issue. GM knows about it and chooses not to acknowledge it. They are lucky no one has been seriously injured or killed because of it. Going to attach all of the proof of people "coincidentally" experiencing the same issue.Read more

While accelerating from a stop, the oil pressure warning illuminated. The driver immediately pulled over within approximately 0.15 miles and shut the engine off. Oil was actively leaking from the vehicle. The truck was towed and diagnosed with oil cooler line separation at the crimp fitting, resulting in rapid oil loss and catastrophic engine failure. Sudden oil loss while driving creates a safety
... hazard. This failure appears consistent with known issues involving oil cooler line assemblies on similar vehicles.Read more

After months of this I found out I did not have to take it to the dealer I bought it from. So, I took it to Monument Chevrolet. I explained my concerns related to the front-end wobble which was very intermittent. And the oil consumption issue which I was very concerned with due to the year model and mileage of the truck. Also, the 75,000.00 price tag was really has me extremely upset... Monument Chevrolet treated me well. I had actually brought it in and called about the steering which was greatly affected by the severe front end wobble more than one time. I was told at first the oil consumption was pretty normal. Until I told them how much I had to add between changes. I have attached two work orders to this complaint. These work orders show what was done at 18017 miles and 18323 miles. The later work order was when the PICO test was done. Also, an oil consumption test was started once I picked the truck up. After I had driven it for 2077 miles and was bringing the vehicle back to Monument Chevrolet, as instructed for the oil consumption results, when a loud squeeling, then hard knock, power loss and I pulled over. I called Monument and was instructed if I could get it to start and bring it. I drove it to them while knocking and rough running. It has been in the shop for over 2 months for an engine replacement. 2077 miles after recall work! My complaint does not involve an accident. The brakes on the 2024 Acadia Elevation are squealing very loudly, and have been doing so for the past six months or so. I have approximately 18,000 miles on it. I took my vehicle to the dealership twice for this issue, and I was told this time that the brakes are still good (still 8mm of pads) - even though it was showing 22% brake pad. They told me abo
... ut the malfunctioning sensor and they fixed that, but the squealing is still there. I was told that it was the metal composition of the brake pads that is making that noise, and GM does not cover brakes past 7,500 miles (this 7,500 warranty is pointless because who would need brakes replaced in that short time frame, anyway?). That means I would have to pay out of pocket for the brakes! There is clearly something wrong with the structure of the brakes and I see on the Acadia forum that this is a common complaint. If the brakes are good, then why are the brakes squealing? Why am I being told that I just have to deal with the squealing sound? What can be done about this issue. It seems unfair to me that I have to come out of pocket to fix something that should not be "broken".Read more
