I am reporting a serious safety issue after three service visits to Star Nissan. Most recently, on July 8, 2025, they performed a full transmission replacement under warranty (see invoice attached). Since receiving the car back, it now makes creaking noises, vibrates severely under acceleration and deceleration, and is completely unsafe to drive. The shaking is so bad I can feel it under my feet
... and seat, especially at highway speeds (40–50 mph). The car did not have these symptoms before the transmission repair. They claimed they did a test drive, but that is obviously false. This is now the third time I’ve had to return this vehicle for drivetrain-related issues, and I’ve been told to “wait until July 15th” with no resolution while my car is dangerous and undrivable. I’m reporting this as a potential safety risk, negligent repair, and breach of warranty, and I want Nissan investigated for returning vehicles in this condition. I’m afraid to drive it and feel completely ignored. This dealership needs to be held accountable, and Nissan should be required to take responsibility before someone gets hurtRead more

Subject: Inadequate Anti-Theft Security – 2023 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE To Whom It May Concern: I am filing this complaint regarding the lack of sufficient theft deterrent technology in the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE, which directly contributed to my vehicle being stolen in July 2025. Despite being a high-performance vehicle valued at over $50,000, the Camaro lacks a modern immobilizer syste
... m, encrypted key access, or any active anti-theft protections to prevent increasingly common theft methods such as relay attacks, CAN injection, or signal spoofing. My vehicle was stolen in under one minute from a secure location, and the incident aligns with a growing national trend of GM vehicles being targeted due to these vulnerabilities. 2 years of $1,000 payments for it to be easily stolen is outrageous. I had full coverage insurance and was enrolled in OnStar, yet the recovery process was ineffective, and OnStar was unable to track the vehicle in time. Chevrolet and GM have not provided an adequate explanation for why newer models are being sold without basic theft-prevention technology that is now standard in vehicles from other manufacturers. Given the scale of this problem, I believe this represents a serious consumer safety and security issue, and GM should be required to: •Upgrade security firmware or modules in vulnerable models •Offer retrofitting of immobilizer technology or free anti-theft solutions •Notify owners of the known risk and potential theft vulnerability I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the scope of this issue and determine whether GM’s failure to implement industry-standard theft prevention constitutes a violation of consumer safety expectations. Thank you for your time and attention. In November 2024, my 2019 Infiniti QX50 experienced a sudden and severe mechanical failure while driving. The vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and then came to a complete stop in traffic. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic, who diagnosed a total engine failure and quoted

Given the severity of the failure and the potential safety risks, I would like to formally file a complaint regarding the 2019 Infiniti QX50 to ensure this issue receives proper attention. Several safety-critical systems failed on this vehicle. The engine (Theta II 2.4L GDI) failed due to rod bearing wear, causing sudden power loss on the highway. The vehicle entered limp mode, once at 50 mph in 2018 and again at 70 mph in 2025, and had to be pulled over quickly to avoid collision. Additional issues: all four windows failed at different times, leaving them stuck open and creating s
... afety risks in weather or emergencies. The trunk latch failed, causing unsecured cargo risk. ABS, TPMS, and traction control warning lights illuminated repeatedly, indicating possible loss of critical safety systems. A loose wiring harness caused the turn signal bulb to burn out repeatedly, reducing visibility and signaling. The dealership performed the KSDS software update after I reported engine trouble but did not resolve the issue. The engine soon failed completely while driving. Other issues, such as the fuse box blowing fuses from a standard USB charger have also been documented by a Kia dealership but not always fully repaired. The most recent engine failure and electrical defects are being inspected by a Kia dealership, and Kia Consumer Affairs is reviewing the warranty claim. Prior to the engine failure, I smelled burning oil and topped it off monthly due to excessive consumption. The oil level light and check engine light only appeared during limp mode right before the failure. These repeated safety-critical defects, particularly sudden engine failure at highway speed, created a significant safety hazard for myself and others on the road. At the time of this report, I am in the process of seeking warranty coverage for the catastrophic engine failure through Kia. The failure behavior (limp mode, flashing check engine light, and rod knock) is consistent with the safety defect described in the Theta II engine settlement. I am concerned that despite this being a known issue, there may be delays or denials in honoring the safety-related warranty repair.Read more

On several occasions in the previous two months, I have been driving during heavy rain. On the first occasion, while high speed wipers were on, they suddenly stopped working. I slowed down, but was able to get them going again prior to pulling to the shoulder of the highway. I had to switch to the slow wiper speed to get them going. I switched back to the high speed wipers due to heavy rain, and k
... ept stopping each time. It continued this cycle and stayed on after about 15 attempts. Today, on [XXX], I drove down [XXX] from Flint, MI towards Detroit at approximately [XXX]. The wipers again quit working and I had to switch the wiper speed to get it working again while at full highway speed during a deluge of rain and nearly had to stop in a construction zone with no shoulder and heavy traffic, nearly causing a collision until I was able to get the wipers to begin working again. On a previous occasion, I turned them on. When the rain stopped, I was unable to stop the wipers, but was eventually able to stop them by carefully moving the intermittent delay wheel to a position between on and off. It appeared that there may be a short in the wiper circuit. This was a definite safety issue in that my attention was taken away from driving to try to fix the wiper situation. In speaking with my service adviser at Randy Wise Toyota in Grand Blanc, MI, he went out to their lot and tried to duplicate the problem, which he confirmed happened on that same Toyota Tacoma model. I attempted to get this repaired under warranty. Their response was that there was nothing they could do since it appeared to be in the design of the wiper system. My opinion is that this is a serious safety issue which needs to be addressed immediately. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I have a 2022 Chevrolet 1500 Trail Boss with the 6.2. Intermittingly when starting off at a red light or from a stopped position, when you press the gas pedal to go the engine will stall and then will suddenly pick back up after a second or two. This intermittingly issue makes it very dangerous when turning in front of oncoming traffic, or in a situation when sudden acceleration is needed. The mot
... or ticks even at idle when running. Also, when you come to a stop at a redlight, the engine shuts off, when you release the brake to go, the auto start restarts the engine. On my truck, when the starter restarts the engine, the starter will not disengage. You have to put the truck in park, turn the switch off and manually restart the engine to make the starter quit spinning over. This problem is also intermitting. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it dont. I took my truck to Mike Bell Chevrolet twice in Carrollton Georgia, where I bought it. The first time I took it to them was 2-10-25, it was for the starter hanging up in auto-start, they charged me $199.00 to do a diagnostic, told me they could not replicate the issue. Then I took it back to Mike Bell Chevrolet on 7-2-2025 after my wife had called the service department and told them that the engine stalls sometimes when starting off, the woman at Mike Bell said that this is one of the symptoms of the recall on my truck. She said we need to bring it in. They called me back and said they could not get it to replicate the issue and wanted to charge me another $399.00 for checking it. We refused to pay this because it is an active recall and we were advised to bring it in. If this engine stalls in traffic, I want it documented that the engine intermittingly stalls when starting off sometimes in case there is an accident.Read more

My 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine has experienced three separate failures of the coolant control valve over a span of less than two years. Each failure resulted in the vehicle entering reduced engine power mode, which drastically limits acceleration and the ability to maintain safe driving speeds — particularly dangerous on highways or in heavy traffic. Chr
... onology of Failures: October 2023: First coolant control valve failure. Part was backordered. Repair took ~6 weeks. June 2024: Second failure of the same part. Another 6-week delay in repair due to part availability. June 2025: Third failure of the same part. Vehicle is currently inoperable and unsafe to drive. Each time, the failure triggered a check engine light and immediately placed the truck into reduced power mode. This issue significantly compromises driver safety, especially in high-speed or congested environments, where limited acceleration can increase the risk of collisions. Safety Concerns: Loss of acceleration power at critical times (merging, overtaking, etc.) Unpredictable vehicle behavior Extended unavailability of parts leads to prolonged periods without a functional vehicle Possible underlying design flaw or recurring part defect Given the recurrence, safety risks, and the number of similar complaints I have seen from other owners, I believe this is a widespread and systemic defect that deserves NHTSA investigation. Requested Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate the frequency and root cause of coolant control valve failures on the 3.0L Duramax engine in the 2020–2022 Silverado models. This is not an isolated incident, and repeated failures of a critical engine cooling component warrant a safety recall or technical service bulletin (TSB) requiring redesign or replacement with a permanent fix.Read more

Now the recall has expired, and owners like me who weren't having a problem at the time are stuck in a situation with cars that have a known, dangerous fault, while Toyota refuses to help with the problem anymore. I wanted to share a very scary incident that occurred while I was slowly creeping into a parking space in a parking garage. With my foot over the brake, as there were children in the area from a car that had parked to the right of mine, my car suddenly surged forward at a high rate of speed. It ultimately crashed into the 3-foot safety wall with tension wires of the parking garage. Clearly ther
... e is an issue with the propulsion system that accelerated my car forward. It's unknown to me if there was also an electrical issue involved in this propulsion failure. The car is available for inspection. The Honda dealer examined the vehicle but was unable to reproduce the issue, indicating that there was nothing wrong with the car, no codes stored of any relation to this incident, and that it was safe to drive. Additionally, I would like to mention that there was no warning lamps lit up on my dashboard before the incident and none appeared after the crash. My insurance was notified, and they deemed the car undrivable. The insurance representative is scheduled to inspect the car tomorrow. This is the first time my car accelerated on its own at a high rate of speed.Read more

I am reporting a critical safety defect involving my brand-new 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle experienced a complete brake system failure, nearly causing a serious accident. My boyfriend was driving at the time, and when he tried to brake, the vehicle did not stop. He had to take immediate evasive action to avoid crashing, which put both of us — and nearby drive
... rs — in immediate danger. The vehicle was purchased about a month ago and had never been serviced or modified. After the failure, it was towed to Hanlees Auto Mall Hyundai in Richmond, California, where the service department inspected it and confirmed the problem was caused by a missing clamp, which is a critical component of the braking system. This appears to be a manufacturing or dealership oversight. They took photos, documented the issue, and made the repair — but they also told me they cannot guarantee this won’t happen again. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms before the failure — the brakes simply stopped working during operation on the freeway. As of now: •The issue has been confirmed by Hanlees Hyundai in Richmond. •I have not yet received a loaner vehicle. •The car is currently in my possession, but I do not feel safe driving it. •I have been in contact with Supervisor Steve at Hyundai of Vacaville, who has offered to pick up the vehicle and provide a loaner, but that has not yet occurred. This is an extremely dangerous failure that occurred on a brand-new vehicle. I am requesting a formal investigation into this issue to determine if it’s isolated or part of a broader manufacturing defect with the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe. A missing brake component that results in total failure at freeway speeds is a life-threatening safety hazard and should be taken seriously by the manufacturer and federal safety officials.Read more

Manufacturer Recall Number 69EG NHTSA Recall Number 24V834 This recall was announced in October and I have been calling the dealership every month since then to have it repaired. They've said the part is on backorder with no estimate on when it will come in. It's been almost a year and I am anxious every time I drive my car that my airbag could explode resulting in injury. If a recall can resul
