The coolant control valve failed. This is a known failure point of poor design and on every other truck from 2019-2023 with the duramx LM2/LZ0 engine, they are covered by a special service warranty to 150,000 miles. GM knows this items fails and puts consumers lives at risk when the failure throws the truck into limp mode on the freeway. They refuse to do a recall to avoid doing the right thing.... Read more

At 96,000 miles (3,000 miles after the extended warranty expired), I noticed the "GM tick" more prominent and had more of a metallic sound than it ever did. Upon further investigation, it was found that a collapsed lifter may be the culprit. My car will be in park and it always says shift to park when its in park , this is very unsafe. Also when I change gears from park to drive or reverse the RPM revs up gets stuck then drops quick causing the hesitation and then kicks in.

i had taken care of the recall items in regards to the failing 6.2L engine. I was driving on the highway (going ~70mph) when all of a sudden the car kicked into neutral and the engine shut off. I was able to pull over, but the engine would not turn on. Electronics worked, but I think i had a total engine failure at 42k miles.

The technician can find nothing and does hear the sound when we go for a test ride. I am worried that the sound indicates a transmission problem. The VIN search does not show a recall for my vehicle.
