The contact stated upon returning to the workplace, the contact noticed that the transmission fluid had leaked into the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer, Future Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Concord (2121 Diamond Blvd, Concord, CA 94520), where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the transmission warranty because the contact had personally replaced the transmission fluid and filters. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was not related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V301000 (Power Train); and provided an estimate for the repair. After trying for about 30 minutes, the ac blower pop on, which was strange b/c the car was powered off. The car starts and is driven about a mile and the same thing happens all over. After trying another hour it starts again and drives another 2 hrs to my destination (at this time the radio and ac was powered off.) I chose to leave it off as I didn’t want anything to stop vehicle since it was running. Upon arriving to my destination a mechanic looked at it and said the electric systems stopped communicating and he reset it. The vehicle drove around town, a fee miles here and there, seemingly fine. When I put it back on the highway to return home the next day, the problem started all over again. We ended up stranded on the side of the highway yet again and after about 20 minutes, the car started up. We were able to drive to the nearest gas station at which time I attempted to turn the car off, thinking that maybe that would help to reset it. At this time the vehicle would not turn off. The front windows were not operating. The windshield wipers would not come on. It just so happened to be raining heavily, and I had to drive in the rain with no windshield wipers. Next, all the instruments went down. Gas hand went to E, even though there was over 200 miles of gas. My car has malfunctioned under the following circumstances: While attempting to make an unprotected left turn at a traffic light intersection (there is no left turn only light) through active lanes of opposing traffic where there is no median lane and no protective barriers between opposite directions of traffic, my vehicle has executed emergency braking on 8 separate occasions. I wait for the last opposing traffic car to clear out from the intersection and begin to make my left turn through the intersection. 10 feet into the intersection, where now I'm in opposing traffic lanes, the car initiates sudden and immediate emergency braking. The car is brought to a jarring complete stop and becomes immobilized, hitting the accelerator pedal does not move the car. The proximity sensors are going off, the blind spot sensors are going off, the collision warnings are going off and I am unable to move the vehicle for 3 seconds. Then all the sensors and warnings clear and the accelerator pedal starts to work again. Meanwhile, there is no car in sight. By the time I started making the left turn, the closest vehicle was about 30 feet behind me going the opposite direction in opposing traffic lanes. It appears my car's sensors are picking up the car that is behind me and thinks it is coming towards me rather than away from me while I have my turn signal indicator on. The car is trying to prevent a collision that it thinks will happen but in reality that car is going in the opposite direction and is well behind me. This has happened 3 times. Other times in the same exact type of turn, the car will initiate emergency braking that brings me to a 5 mph crawl and disables the accelerator pedal. So it brings me to a crawl and I lose the ability to accelerate while in the middle of an active intersection. This has happened 5 times. Inspected by dealership and corporate engineer 10 times. I started receiving messages that the cameras were occluded and that there was an error and ALL of my system safety features were disabled. No front forward collision warnings, no emergency braking available, nothing available and the system computer that showed all of the traffic and everything completely disappeared from the screen, the car has literally gone blind. ... on with the camera issues in May, but I thought that it was a software issue and would be addressed in the next update, although the critical disengagements were supposed to be sent to Tesla. I took the car to the service center on 9/4/24 at 9am, and they stated that the did a system test and saw that the triple camera was showing a fault and so they replaced the camera and gave it back to me the same day. Everything worked for the rest of that day for a service that took at least 3hours to figure out. Today after I get off of work at 1pm and I go to initiate FSD and I get 3miles from my residence( I live <8mi from my job) and the system disengages again asking me to take over and all of my critical systems have yet again been disabled. My whole safety is compromised at this point yet again. I immediately bring the car back and they tell me that it's going to take them an additional 30-45 mins to "diagnose" the issue although it's the same thing that's been happening that was supposedly fixed yesterday. After that wait time the service consultant comes back and tell me that the car is throwing all kinds of codes and that, "It's still safe to drive." When I told that it cannot be safe to drive if all of the critical systems were disabled he suggested that I take it and they can do a remote log pull so they can look more into the issue or I can leave it as the part that's needed needs to be ordered anyway. They tried replacing an oxygen sensor, that did not work in getting rid of the problem with all my warning lights turning on. Again the ADAS component lights turned on and the system did not work. The electrical wiring harnesses affecting numerous safety systems (forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning) have been chewed through by rodents. Upon further research it was determined that starting in 2016 Asian automotive manufacturers (Nissan, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai) began using soy-based insulation in their wiring harnesses as alternatives to petroleum-base
... d insulation. Rodents (mice, squirrels, etc.) are attracted to the wiring harnesses. The resultant damage and safety concerns led customers to file several lawsuits against the manufacturers. It is not clear whether Hyundai stopped the use of these soy-based wiring harnesses after 2021. Genesis is a spin-off of Hyundai, leveraging common parts. It appears that these soy-based wiring harnesses are being used in some of the 2022 GV80 models. Genesis currently burdens its customers with the cost to troubleshoot and replace these harnesses. Given the previous lawsuits and the continue risks of using these wiring harnesses in key safety systems, it is recommended that Hyundai and Genesis issue manufacturer recalls to ensure these harnesses are replaced with materials that do not attract rodents. We first started experiencing intermittent failures in in the highway driving assist system. Then, forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems. These became more pronounced until we brought the vehicle into Pearson Genesis of Richmond on 06/28/2024. After troubleshooting and inspecting the automobile, the technician showed us pictures of where rodents had eaten through wiring harnesses (attached). The cost to repair this over two visits totaled $957.42. I contacted Genesis headquarters suggesting they investigate this further, given the lawsuits. They agreed to offset my cost by $672, but did not agree to address the underlying problem.Read more

While driving the rear view mirror suddenly tilted downward (drooped). What happened, was that the tension ring popped off. As it turns out, this is a known issue per internet Mini Cooper pages. On hot days the ring loosens and, since the design does not include anything to prevent the ring from sliding off, it does slide off, resulting in the rear view mirror drooping. I reinstalled the ring.

The driver depressed the push-to-start button, but the vehicle continued to move and drove onto the lawn over a flower bed and fence, went across a two-way highway, slowed down, and stopped. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. A police report was filed. There were no reported injuries, fire, or air bag deployment.
