Front end suspension has on several occasions began to violently shake. It appears that the driver side front wheel begins to bounce rapidly after hitting large or small defects within the road surface. ... ce I have had little to no control of my truck's direction of travel. The only solution to date that has worked is to slow down to a near stop while still in the middle of high speed traffic. When this "death wobble" occurs, I have zero control of my vehicle as far as steering is concerned. We no longer allow our children to ride in the truck with us as this has become a dangerous driving environment. Additionally the violence of this wobble aggravates an pre-existing medical issue within my neck and head. (Veteran with (2) TBI's and severe nerve damage in my neck) The dealership has confirmed the issue and suggested I replace the front suspension and my tires. (My tires still had 20K+ miles left on them) The vehicle has been taken to a dealer for the vast majority of it's service and maintenance. I have mentioned the "death wobble" on several occasions' and even agreed to have the entire front end suspension along with all four tires be replaced. This seemed to have fixed the issue in the short term, but it has returned with considerably more violent shaking than before. I asked the dealer to repair again, but they refused without additional payments, as the repair is now more than 90 days old. No warnings are given prior to this violent shaking other than the initial jolt. Even with a warning, traveling at 60-75 mph along with confined traffic the chances of becoming involved in a possible life-threatening accident become extremely high.Read more

The steering wheel gets 'sticky' just to the left or right of the top dead center. It will catch and then release causing a sudden movement of the steering wheel. It is most noticeable above 45mph. ... ause the steering wheel doesn't just turn as you move your hand...it will catch and then with more force, it will suddenly release. To Honda's credit, they are replacing the entire steering rack and EPS under warranty but there doesn't seem to be any design change to the replacements so if this is a design issue I worry this issue will just return later on. It was noticeable when the car was at 5-6k miles but has become increasingly worse over time. It is now at 26k miles. There seem to be many concerns online over the same type of issue. The part is on back-order so I fear it will take some time to be fixed.Read more

Another owner of a 2020 Forest River Georgetown GT5 model 34H5 just posted a pic of a crack at the 90-degree bend in the rear propane tank mounting bracket. This is an ASME tank that can contain 19.5 actual gallons of propane. Previous ASME propane tank mounting bracket cracks reported by owners of Georgetowns were all on the front propane tank mounting bracket and were broken welds that allowed o
... ne end of the propane tank to drop almost to the road while driving. They were NOT a crack at the 90-degree bend in the bracket and also NOT on the rear bracket. I just cut three tie wraps to expose that bend on our 2020 Georgetown GT5 34H5 and my rear propane tank mounting bracket is cracked in exactly the same place. The crack is full depth at the exposed end of the bend. The crack appears to extend 2" to 3" through the bend of the 8" long bracket. There is some rust in the crack at the end so the crack started a while ago. A total failure of the bracket would allow one end or both ends of the ASME tank to fall and strike the ground. That could be like a bomb exploding when driving, the same as the previously reported front ASME tank bracket failures could cause. Our motorhome is four years old with about 17,000 miles. It was built in May 2019.Read more

My 2014 Subaru Outback, with only 42,000 miles on it, is unfortunately among the 3% (per Consumer Reports) with undiagnosable, therefore, unrepairable, brake failure issues. The brake failures began in April 2023 as I pulled out of my driveway in the Tucson Mountains, headed into town. On the downhill, I pressed my brakes to slow down. My foot went to the floor - no brakes. Terror! I pumped the
... brakes and gradually they came back. Luckily, no one was ahead of me. The brake fluid was down a very slight bit, so I brought it back up. No problem for two weeks, until the exact same thing happened again. Tucson Subaru has an excellent Service Center. I've kept the service on my Subaru up, so I booked in for a regular tuneup, plus advised them of the brake issue. The shop mechanic flushed the brake cylinder along with the usual tuneup: brake pads, etc. There was no problem for about two more weeks when brakes failed again. Took back to Subaru on a Friday. They kept over the weekend, but by Monday afternoon, brakes were still working "fine". They Ubered me to test, but I didn't need to even pull out of parking lot, everything seemed okay. Took my Outback home and all okay until brakes failed again. Took on AAA's and my friends' recommendations to Tucson's Primarily Japanese auto shop. The brakes failed once more in the interim, but worked fine at the shop. The owner thought possible a failing ABS unit. However, both Tucson Subaru/Primarily Japanese were reluctant to try replacing either the brake cylinder or the ABS unit as both are expensive fixes and they were unable to duplicate the failure. In the meantime, I went online and found that other owners of Outbacks across a range of years/mileage had the same problem - and the same results, none of fixes reliably worked. That included flushing/replacing the brake cylinder, the ABS unit, cleaning/replacing brake pads, etcs. Some owners were not as "lucky" as I was. The car is parked.Read more

ST225/75R15 Castlerock Tires by Lionshead. We actually had three of these tires fail on this vehicle in 2 seperate incidents within 5 weeks. In the incident in which the Rear Passenger Side Tire failed, we were driving about 60mph on Mississippi Highway towing the 2021 XLR Boost Toy hauler trailer with a
... Ram3500 dually around 3am. We had checked pressures and visually inspected the tires before leaving Tennessee at midnight. The tire tread blew apart leaving a large strip that spun and severely damaged the underside of the trailer and ripped off wire harness. We were forced to change the tire and tie up wires on the side of a busy highway in the dark with semi trucks passing us at 70mph plus. We definitely felt in danger and after finding delamination and missing tread on second tire found ourselves stranded in Mississippi sleeping in GoodYear parking lot after "limping" 30 miles in the middle of the night. Sleeping in parking lots in random cities where you don't know anyone is also risky in my opinion. I had all 5 tires replaced at that time to avoid future issues. I have reached out to the manufacturer of both the tires and the trailer 2 days ago and have had no response at this time. There were no warning signs or lights before the tire blew, it seemed to be going smooth on paved highway. The trailer was not overloaded, at the time of this incident we did not have our motorcycles loaded in toy hauler, just clothes & food etc..Read more

Lionshead Castlerock ST225/75R15 Tires on XLR Boost Toy Hauler Trailer. Within 5 weeks we had 3 tires fail in 2 incidents. I have already filed on the 2nd incident, but since it asks for tire location I am filing this second complaint for first incident. In the incident in which the front passenger side tire failed, we were traveling along Hwy 2 outside of Monroe Washington headed up Stevens Pa
... ss to a campground in Eastern Washington. The tire blew out traveling about 55mph on a paved highway. When it blew a large section of tread turned into a flap that damaged the underside of the trailer tearing off insulation and vapor barrier. We had to change the tire on the side of the road with traffic passing dangerously close. Since it was almost dark when we were done and we did not have a second spare in case of another incident we took it slow up pass and had to sleep in a rest are until tire shop opened. It was dangerous changing tire on the side of the busy road and nerve wrecking crossing pass without spare, however at that time (5 weeks ago) we did not bother with reporting or contacting mfg. as we thought it was a isolated incident and maybe we ran over something. When we had 2 more tires fail within such a short time leaving us stranded again with more damage we realized this is probably a defective tire situation. At this time we have reached out to the mfg of both the tire and trailer but have not heard anything back. We had this tire replaced by Les Schwab in Wenatchee WA and put it back as the spare. There was no warning before the blowout and we check pressure and visually inspect tires regularly. This was only about about 30 miles into our cross country trip.Read more

On Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 I was driving my 2017 Nissan Titan Turbo XD that I just purchased in December 2022, it just lost power and stopped on the highway in the dark. I was able to get it to the shoulder and waited 3 hours for a tow truck. This happened on a deserted road in Washington state. I was able to get a rental car for the weekend, but the only technician qualified to look at my truck c
... ouldn't do so until Wednesday the 11th. The diagnosis was metal shavings in my engine oil, meaning I needed a complete new engine. The cost is $31,400 - and the truck cost me $37,000. Upon doing some research, I have found that the diesel fuel pump, the cp4, that comes in the Cummins diesel engine that was put into the Nissan Titans from 2016-2019 was not mean to have US diesel run through it. Only European diesel, which is more lubricated than diesel in the US. This cp4 need for lubrication makes it break apart and seize your engine up when used with US diesel. This is a known issue with the Nissan titan XD Turbo, and Nissan stopped making the truck in 2019 partly because of this issue. There has been no recall on the engine or the truck, and I could have easily been killed or seriously injured when my truck just stopped in the middle of the dark with no warning. No lights came on, nothing. I take meticulous care of my vehicles and as an Army Captain stationed at Fort Lewis, am well aware that routine maintenance is imperative. There was nothing that alerted my previous service technicians nor myself as to the danger that this truck contains. It's a ticking time bomb and needs to be taken out of use by Nissan, and their consumers compensated. How long until someone is killed due to the defect?Read more
