THE DOOR HANDLE MECHANISM BREAKS CAUSING A LOCK-IN/LOCK-OUT SITUATION. THERE ARE MANY RECENT REPORTS FROM RV OWNERS THAT THIS IS OCCURRING FREQUENTLY AND THE REPLACEMENTS ARE BREAKING AS WELL. OUR INITIAL OUTING IN OUR NEW 2016 SANDSTORM 24GSLCWAS TO A FRIEND'S HOME, OUR UNIT PARKED ON THEIR DRIVEWAY AND ENDED WITH PULLING TWO SLEEPING CHILDREN FROM A COMPLETELY SMOKE ENGULFED UNIT. IT WAS 100+ DEGREES THE DAY WE PURCHASED OUR SANDSTORM THUS DID NOT INSPECT THE HEATER, ONLY THE AC. UNFORTUNATELY, THE UNIT WAS NOT CLEANED AFTER MANUFACTURING AND THE LAYER OF PLASTIC PIECES THAT HAD FALL

IT ALSO WAS DETERMINED THAT THE MECHANIC WOULD TEST DRIVE AND VERIFY THE FISH TAILING PROBLEM THAT I WAS HAVING. A DETERMINATION WAS MADE TO INSTALL TWO SWAY CONTROL BARS AND TO CHANGE THE TIRES FROM THE ORIGINAL CAMPER TO A HEAVIER DUTY WIDER CROWN TIRE. WITH ALL THIS DONE TO MY BRAND NEW CAMPER, I AND MY FAMILY TOOK IT CAMPING. I HAVE ATTACHED THE RE-PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SYSTEM, BUT THE BEST WAY IS TO HAVE THE WIRE ANTENNA TAKEN OFF OF THE BOX UNDER THE COACH. THE BOX WILL BE LOCATED NEXT TO THE JACK CYLINDER AND THERE IS A METAL COVER THAT HIDES THE PUMP AND FLUID RESERVOIR. CAMPING WORLD OF BOSSIER CITY AND FOREST RIVER SEEM TO HAVE NO CONCERN FOR THE POSSIBLE DANGERS THIS COACH PRESENTS. ASKING A CUSTOMER TO CUT A WIRE/ANTENNA FROM UNDER THE COACH SEEMS A BIT LAZY AND DANGEROUS ADVICE FOR A COMPANY TO GIVE AS A SOLUTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FOREST RIVER WILDWOOD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL OF THE CAMPER SUDDENLY FAILED. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE AXLE WAS BENT AND CAUSED EXCESSIVE WEAR TO BOTH TIRES. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY TWO LANE MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH, WE WERE FLAGGED TO PULL OVER FROM SURROUNDING VEHICLES IN REGARDS TO SOMETHING DRAGGING UNDER THE REAR OF THE TRAILER. AFTER PULLING OVER ON TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER, I FOUND A FRAME CROSS BRACE DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. FURTHER CHECKING INTO THE ISSUE, I FOUND THE SHACKLE TO THE REAR AXLE HANGING AND ALL WELDS BROKEN ON THE DRIVERS SI

THE TIRE HAD BEEN RUBBING THE FRAME, AXLES NOW SEEM BENT AND SEVERE STRESS IS PRESENT ON THE SPRINGS, AS THEY ARE FLAT AND NOT CURVED.THE BROKEN AXLE SIDE HOLDS THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY FOR THE TRAILER AS WELL. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS THEY HAVE CONTACTED LIPPERRT, TODAY I RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM [XXX]. , STATING THE MOTORHOME HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED BY THE RECALL BUT DOES NEED THE BOLT REPLACED (I STATED THIS IN OUR INITIAL CONVERSATION OF CONCERN) AS WELL AS THE BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO PHONE [XXX] BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM AS OF YET (3 HOURS) I HAVE GONE INTO FURTHER DEPT WITH RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE STEP...I HAVE FOUND TWO FORUMS WITH MULTIPLE PAGES OF THIS EXACT PROBLEM....INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED, EVEN TO AN EMPLOYER. SOME HAVE CONTACTED THE WARRANTY, AFTER EXPIRATION AND HAD IT REPLACED ANYHOW DUE TO THE MANY COMPLAINTS. THE STEPS WERE REPLACED WITH A KWIKEE BRAND, WHICH HAS REPORTED TO BE BETTER BUILT.
