AWAY FROM HOME. WE PAID THEM $80 FOR THE USED TIRE AND RIM THEY FOUND IN THEIR SHOP TO GET US HOME. ONCE WE GOT HOME AND PULLED THE SLIDES OUT WE FOUND AND TIRE FLAKES WERE INSIDE THE TRAILER, PIECES OF TIRE STUCK UNDER THE SLIDE, AND DAMAGE TO THE FIBERGLASS. THE MID ENTRY DOOR WAS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT OPEN. CRAWLED INTO THE RV AND HAD TO TAKE THE DOOR LOCK APART IN ORDER TO OPEN. THIS TOOK 30 PLUS MINUTES AND IF A CHILD HAD BEEN LOCKED IN OR IF THERE WERE A FIRE THE SITUATION WOULD BE LIFE THREATENING. CHECKED THE LOCK AND THE DOOR LOCKING SHAFT BROKEN IN HALF. I PURCHASED THE TRAILER NEW ON 9/21/15 WENT ON A FEW SHORT TRIPS AROUND THE TRI-STATE AREA. WENT ON A SPRING BREAK TRIP, 1 SUMMER & 1 WINTER VACATION WITH MY FAMILY. I HOPE KNOW ONE WAS HURT, INJURED OR KILLED FROM THE WHEELS FLYING OFF HITTING OTHER MOTORISTS OR LAYING IN THE ROAD CAUSING OTHER TYPES OF ACCIDENTS. THE KIDDE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL DUE TO POTENTIAL FAILURE TO OPERATE. THE RECALL ID REFERENCED BY THE MANUFACTURER IS 17V756. IT APPEARS THAT KIDDE HAS REPORTED THE RECALL CORRECTIVE ACTIONS COMPLETE. THEY ARE NOT. WE WERE SITTING IN OUR TRAVEL TRAILER WHEN I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, LIKE AN ELECTRICAL BURN. I WENT AROUND OUR TRAVEL TRAILER AND LOOKED UNDER THE SINK AND SAW THE WATER HEATER SMOKING. I EXPERIENCED A TIRE FAILURE ON MY TRAVEL TRAILER. RIDGWAY SPORT ST, ST225/75R15, DOT # 1KMM16A, MANUFACTURE DATE 2615. I WAS TRAVELING 63MPH, MY TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM SHOWED 53PSI. THE TIRE QUICKLY BEGAN LOSING PRESSURE AS ALERTED BY MY TPMS. LATER I EXAMINED THE TIRE AND FOUND TREAD SEPARATION AND SINGLE STRANDS OF METAL POKING THROUGH THE TREAD.
