After purchasing the travel trailer near Chicago, and returning to Kentucky, I noticed that the tires were rubbing the wheel well above them, on one side. The tires had worn through the cover, and had made burn marks on the wood frame. A local dealer replaced the leaf springs on that side under warranty in the summer of , and replaced the covering material above the tires. Recently, I noticed tha
... t all four tires are rubbing above the wheel well, and have worn through the cover and insulation, exposing the floor. There is only 1" to 1-1/2" of clearance between the tires and the wheel well. The trailer weighs 5799 lbs dry, has approx. 1,900 lbs payload, and approx 7,800 GVWR. It has two 3500 lb axles, and it looks to me like they are not strong enough for the weight. The leaf springs are somewhat flattened, and one is nearly straight. I contacted Forest River, and was told to take it back to the dealer where the repair was done, for an estimate of repairs, because it was out of warranty. I'm thinking that the problem was not diagnosed and taken care of correctly on my original warranty claim, and they should still stand behind it. I contacted Forest River, but they refused to help me, only suggesting that I have a dealer examine it and make repairs as necessary. It seems that the installed axles are insufficient for the trailer, and replacement is the best alternative. Longer shackles, etc., are a possible approach, but I'm not sure it is the best one.Read more

We bought the camper used, we had it inspected before we purchased it and there were no signs of water damage. The seller told us the floor was soft due to a design issue, which we confirmed by seeing post in several online forums about the bad design of the floor. The first night we slept in the trailer, the rear slide-out fell off with us in it. Luckily we were not injured. Looking the damag
... e it appears water had entered the trailer between the walls so it was not visible and rotted the main support for the top of the slide out. We were able to lift the slide out up and put it back in the trailer but we are concerned to use it. We know we bought the trailer used "as is" and we do not expect the dealer or manufacturer will do anything to help us, but we feel this trailer should be recalled before someone is more serioulsy injured.Read more

The automatic awning did not have proper backing plates installed, so the first time going out caused the awning to collapse completely against the full glass wall. The wire harness system was not the correct gauge wire, which posed a potential fire hazard. The fuse was pulled out because the motor to the faulty awning was overheating. The front entry (only) door for entering the RV and existin
... g safely was not mounted correctly, so the owners (occupants) were locked inside during the daytime hours when the door expanded with sun/heat. The owner is disabled and was oftentimes locked inside. ALL within the warranty division and build team were aware of my disability; and did nothing to assist or mitigate the potential life-safety hazard. Forest River knew I was living in the coach for an extended period of time; and they knew I was unable to travel the rig. I/We were repeatedly told that the issues would be addressed, but they did little to nothing in assisting us by securing a qualified field team. I/We were forced to secure various RV vendors to assist, to no avail. I was forced to have it trailered into a facility; whereby the wiring issues continue and the Forest River warranty division forced me to pay the vendor over $4k for warranty items that they were supposed to cover. This rig had a poor build and Forest River refuses to take the necessary steps to cure the deficiencies. I am told by the repair shop that the wire harness became a "RECALL" item; which solidifies my concerns, as others were having the same issues. Forest River did not install backing boards for the awning that could have killed someone when it came crashing down (all caught on my Ring Doorbell), plus the array of photography taken to show the shoddy workmanship during the build. They need to be held to a higher standard or an unsuspecting customer (aka: victim) may be severely injured and/or killed. The motors on the Dometic 9200 RV Awnings are failing. The motors do not have enough torque to effectively operate the awnings. When campers are caught off guard at campsites it is difficult to secure the awning and prevent it from opening during interstate driving. There is a 6-to-8-week backlog for orders. According to the Forest River blogs, many RV owners are experiencing the same issue. My 2021 Forest River Rockwood 2905S Trailer is equipped with a Dometic MFG 925NR18.301UL and I have to close the Awning manually. I am requesting that a recall be placed on Dometic 9200 awnings, and that the manufacturer upgrade the motor and/or system that will safely and consistently operate the awning.Read more

A cursory examination of the unit quickly revealed that the design is minimal and has near-zero redundancy in the event of a minor installation issue. The weakness presents a clear danger to human injury and death. The fact that I had this problem in 2022 would seem to make it clear that the company's response to this issue is woefully inadequate. I have reported this incident to Transport Canada and there is an open file. An inspector has been to my home to assess the trailer. On the morning of August 1st, 2022 we were notified by a neighbor of some damage on our 2021 Artic Wolf 5th wheel. After inspection it appeared that a small fire had occurred earlier in the morning- unknown time and it apparently was contained to the one compartment without spreading. The previous evening the camper was fine. The fire was contained to a specific compartment which housed the water
... hook-up, cable hook-ups and the motion light. This was reported to our insurance who did an inspection and determined that most likely it was an electrical issue and started with the motion light. Upon discovery of the issue the trailer was unplugged and battery was disconnected. We had gone camping the weekend before the fire happened. Unable to be "recreated". The insurance adjuster inspected it on 8/10/22. No concerns or issues the weekend before. We have been having issues with the light randomly staying on/not turning on etc.Read more

They all worked but the right front. So that was a fun four days in a not so level $115,000.00 trailer. Well got home and manually got the trailer off. I worked with BAL as no one would help at the local forest river dealer. I got another brain and installed it again. Recuperated all legs. working as it should even could use the auto level feature. Third time sense I bought the trailer. Now another four day trip. Went to pull trailer off the truck it came off no issues, Then auto level feature would not work. it only would drop the rear jacks and bring up the front left very unsafe. This is how it fell on my head the last time. Now got it level enjoyed the couple days there. Then i go to leave dropped the trailer on to the truck. Right leg will not move electrically or manually. Well after four hours and three jacks later I was able to put it back on my truck and head home. I have contacted my local dealer but they are two months out and they said no recall or warranty for this trailer at this time. so i have to pay out of pocket. Well if i am paying the monthly payment i do not want it to sit for months on end. This is disappointing as I spent a lot of money for this fifth wheel trailer and it has been nothing but a pain. No support other then the BAL industries. I couldn't even get my local Forrest River dealer to take my money for a extended warranty that they said they had.Read more

Fast forward a week later big camping trip for four days. well got to where we are camping an
... d once again only one landing gear leg worked. the other one just make a popping noise. Mind you it was still on my truck. tried turning on and off multiple time and even rechecked each leg.
