The component that is failing is the Radio. The radio consistently turns off when using it and power cycles itself back on which creates a concern when I am using the phone or the Maps feature. I had the same issue with a 2019 Volkswagen Passat, that I previously owned and I now see that there are known issues with other Volkswagen vehicles for the same thing, but there is no recall on my vehicle.
... I have spoken to my dealership about it and they advised me that there is not a recall for the issue so I would have to pay for them to take a look at this. There are no warnings such as lamps or anything else prior to the failure happening besides if the radio has sound coming through it, you won’t hear the sound anymore and within 60 seconds it will power cycle down for about a minute and then come back on and have to completely reload. There has been no inspection by the police or manufacturer to my knowledge.Read more

On October 2024,I brought the car in to RickCase Hyundai for maintenance and to address an oil leaking issue. I texted the service advisor, “Please do not do the oil change till you find out where the oil is leaking”, I’m replacing it frequentlyWhen I picked up the car and inquired about the leaking, the he told me that there was not an issue. January 2025, the car was driving rough again,
... noticed the oil low and filled it up. February 2025 driving on 595, The car stopped. I had it towed to Rick Case, they told me I needed to replace the piston. I said no this has to do with the oil consumption issue that I brought the car in October that you never addressed. The four new spark plugs that were put in were burnt on the tips. They went through the warranty issue to get the engine repaired and it was denied. I said this is not a warranty issue. This was a mistake on your part because you never address the oil consumption issue in October 2024. As of June 12,2026, the dealership still has my car. When I call and ask, What’s going on with my car. The only response I get is we are trying something else it’s going to take some time. Last summer, the service advisor told me he was going to fix my car, wanted me to come pick it up and drive it for 1000 miles and bring it back. They couldn’t fix the car. They never offered a loaner. The vehicle suffered a catastrophic engine failure and completely stalled in the middle of a live road, creating an immediate highway safety hazard. the vehicle is still being held at Rick Case Hyundai Weston for over a year regarding excessive oil consumption issues, which the dealer failed to resolve. The vehicle has 85,000 miles and a complete maintenance history. Hyundai Corporate is currently denying a replacement engine under the active engine settlement framework, leaving a known stalling safety hazard unresolved."Read more

I am the owner of a 2018 Ram 3500 subject to Recall C4B (NHTSA Recall No. 24V-896) involving the Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). The recall was announced on November 27, 2024. As of June 2026, NHTSA’s website still states that the recall is incomplete and that a remedy is not yet available for my vehicle. The defect causes active symptoms during operation. The vehicle continuously chimes w
... hile driving, similar to a seatbelt warning, and cruise control is disabled. These symptoms substantially interfere with normal operation, especially during long trips and towing. I have contacted authorized Ram dealerships and Ram Customer Care multiple times. Dealerships state that no remedy is available and refer me to Ram Customer Care. Ram Customer Care confirms that no remedy is available and provides no repair timeline or meaningful resolution. Most concerning, neither the dealerships nor Ram Customer Care will initiate a repair attempt because no repair procedure or parts exist. Owners are therefore unable to obtain repairs or even establish documented repair attempts despite the existence of an active safety recall. I was also advised that I could rent a vehicle at my own expense and potentially seek reimbursement if approved. Given that this recall has been open for more than 18 months with no available remedy or repair timeline, expecting owners to personally fund rental costs for an unknown period with only the possibility of reimbursement is unrealistic and inadequate. This open safety recall has negatively impacted the vehicle’s usability, resale value, and trade-in value while preventing owners from obtaining a repair. Stellantis acknowledges the safety defect, yet no practical remedy or alternative solution is available. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the continued lack of an available remedy, the extended delay in repairs, and the absence of a meaningful process for affected owners to obtain relief.Read more

The transmission failed while driving. While accelerating to speed, there was a "clunk" and then the vehicle was unable to shift to another gear, stuck in 7th. Luckily I was able to drive at below speed with hazards lights flashing to the nearby dealership.
... Truck has completed every recommended maintenance check and only has 65,600 miles on it. Repair costs for new transmission were stated to me at $9800 by the dealership. There were no warning signs or symptoms prior to the failure. However, reading multiple online complaints indicates Ford has known about the defect for the 10R80 transmission failure for years, as early as 2017, and there is a recall for this for model years 2017-2018. This is clearly a safety issue, and I am lucky I was not on the highway at high speed nor had my grandchildren in the vehicle.Read more

Unknown Subject: Safety Concern Regarding Rock Creek Model Seatbelt Design I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern regarding the seatbelt design used in the Nissan Rock Creek model. Specifically, the seatbelt in this vehicle includes a plastic insert that is stitched directly into the belt. This configuration appears unusual when compared to standard seatbelt construction and, in
... my view, raises significant questions about its safety and performance in the event of a collision. My primary concern is whether this particular seatbelt design, including the stitched-in plastic insert, has undergone full crash-testing and safety validation. Seatbelts are critical life-saving devices, and any nonstandard configuration can introduce potential failure points. Before continuing to use this vehicle, I would like written confirmation that this design meets or exceeds all applicable federal safety standards, including FMVSS 209 and 210, and that it has been tested under conditions representative of a real-world crash scenario. I am deeply concerned that this feature may pose a hazard to vehicle occupants if it compromises the belt’s ability to lock, restrain, or distribute force correctly during an accident. For this reason, I respectfully request a prompt, detailed response. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your explanation and confirmation regarding the safety of this system.Read more

I have formally requested full downloads from all other modules (Powertrain/PCM, ABS/EBCM, BCM, etc.) from both the insurance company (ESIS) and GM, but they have only provided the single SDM report. My Toyota Highlander 2019 began to produce a whining noise that orginates in the transmission at about 89000 miles. An independent mechanic examined the vehicle and deteremined that the noise is well documented. After conducting research, I found that the issue is caused by improper assembly and the only repair is a complete replacement of the transmission. I also discovered that there is a reca
... ll on the 2017-2019 Toyota Highlander due to the 8 speed transmission which is also used in my vehicle. The idea that the 2019-2022 Toyota Highlanders are NOT included in this recall is completely unreasonable. These vehicles utilize the same 8-speed transmission and the whining noise tends to surface after 60, 000 miles - about four to five years based on useage. The whining noise began without warning or symptoms. The vehicle drove without issues and we intended on driving this vehicle into retirement considering the reputation Toyota had on building reliable vehicles. I will never purchase or recommend the purchase of a Toyota vehicle! The idea that repeated transmission failures, without an univeral recall for all years affected, shows that the comsumer is not respected. I would enjoy understanding the logic and data that enabled Toyota to limit the recall to just three production year when the 8-speed transmission spanned six years of production (2017-2022). I am now forced to look into replacing the transmission with potentionally another faulty, improperly assembled 8-speed transmission.Read more

2017 cadillac XT5 Platinum. Seatbelt CHIME does not activate if the seatbelt is off while driving. Dealer says it is working as it is supposed to in this model year.!!!! Please note that at the dealer we test drove for 3/4 of a mile, and the CHIME went off only after driving 4 blocks and making a right hand turn. It went off again seconds later and 1/2 mile later as we entered the parking lot
... , as we hit a bump into the parking lot, the chime went off again. My point is that the CHIME should go off at the beginning of the drive to remind the driver that the belt is off, not at the end of a 3/4 mile drive. Their answer is that they tested the seatbelt and no codes were detected. Since the CHIME did go off sometime during the drive, then there is no problem!!!! They CLAIM they tested another 2017 XT5 and it was the same!!! It worked for 8 years, but in the last 2 months, it started to fail with on the driver side. The passenger side later also started to fail, sometimes it will activate if no seatbelt was used, other times it did not. Today June 11, 2026 I tested the car and no chime was active. I also tested the rear seat and buckled & unbuckled while driving - NO CHIME. I tried bouncing up and down on rear seat, and the CHIME went off! So the CHIME works but the car is not sensing when the seatbelt is unbuckled. I have grand children that ride in the rear using a car seat, if one of the seatbelts was unbuckled while driving, the CHIME would warm me that they took the belt off. We drove the car for 5 miles home and bucked and unbuckled the and passenger and the driver side belts at different times, and the CHIME did not go off. The light in the front panel does flash when the seatbelt is unbuckled!. Prior to the belt CHIME giving us problems, the same week the seatbelt on driver side tighten so hard while driving, that my wife got scared & even was afraid it would break her clavicle! The rear air conditioning refrigerant lines on a 2019 Toyota Highlander SE failed due to excessive rust/corrosion, causing the A/C system to leak refrigerant and stop holding a charge. The failure affected the rear A/C lines that run to the rear of the vehicle. The problem was first diagnosed by an independent repair shop and then confirmed by a Toyota dealer. The Toyota dealer documented that th
... e rear A/C lines were leaking due to excessive rust/corrosion. The dealer recommended replacing the rear A/C lines/cooling lines as a set, evacuating and recharging the A/C system, adding dye, and checking system operation. The repair was completed by the Toyota dealer but not covered or reimbursed. The vehicle/component was inspected by an independent service center and by a Toyota dealer. Toyota corporate customer support was also informed of the dealer diagnosis. The failed component may no longer be available for inspection because the repair has been completed, but repair records, dealer diagnosis, invoice, and related documentation are available. Safety concern: The A/C system failure can affect occupant safety and visibility because air conditioning is used for windshield defogging/defrosting and cabin humidity control. Loss of A/C can reduce the ability to clear the windshield in humid or rainy conditions. It can also create a risk to rear passengers, including children, during hot weather because the rear A/C system is no longer functioning as designed. The failure also involved leaking refrigerant from corroded lines. Toyota will not accept that this is a premature and dangerous parts failure. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages before the failure. The symptom was that the A/C stopped cooling and would not hold refrigerant. The cause was later confirmed, by Toyota, as leaking rear A/C lines due to excessive rust/corrosion. Toyota has refused goodwill repair even after NUMEROUS persons have reported the same issue online.Read more

Manufacturer was contacted regarding assistance but declined coverage support. Consequently this most recent repair was performed by independent repair shop. Prior to replacement, the vehicle exhibited increasing humming, roaring, and grinding noises from the rear, which worsened with vehicle speed. No warning lights were illuminated. A cooling system or electrical failure while in traffic could put me and other drivers at risk. Reproduction or confirmation: The issue occurred several time and was confirmed by a Chevrolet dealer, and was told that my warranty did not cover the issue. I took it to outside mechanic to fix the issue as Chevrolet wanted to charge over $1500 for the issue. No warning lamps, messages, overheating indicators, or other symptoms appeared before the fan remained on. The problem occurred suddenly back in 2025. Issue 2: Ignition Key Gets Stuck and Cannot Be Removed Ignition lock cylinder, ignition switch, transmission shift-interlock system, park-position switch, or steering column lock mechanism. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The ignition key intermittently becomes stuck and cannot be removed from the ignition. The problem occurs after parking and turning the vehicle off, and I sometimes need to move the shifter or steering wheel repeatedly before the key can be removed. A stuck ignition key can prevent me from properly shutting down and securing the vehicle. It may also indicate a failure in the ignition or shift-interlock system.Read more

Vehicle was inoperable and over 100F in our driveway, with a flashing "critical high voltage battery fault". My wife injured her hand attempting to get in the vehicle. The service center has claimed that moisture inside the HVAC system caused the High Voltage (HV) battery system to fail, throwing a critical high-voltage battery fault. Rivian is attempting to deny warranty coverage based on this mo
... isture. Linkage to Warranted Component: At 85,690 miles, my vehicle is fully covered under Rivian’s 8-year High Voltage Battery Limited Warranty. The critical high-voltage fault and subsequent component failures were directly caused by water entering the electrical/battery system. Proximate Cause via Known Manufacturing Defect: Rivian has an active Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) regarding moisture ingress via the HVAC assembly for 2022–2024 R1S models. The moisture that caused the battery fault is a documented, inherent design defect of the vehicle, not user negligence or external environmental damage. An inherent defect in an out-of-warranty system cannot be used to void coverage for a failure it causes inside a component that is still heavily protected by an active warranty. The photograph provided by the service center does not depict superficial 'moisture in the HVAC' causing external damage. It shows severe fluid ingress and terminal corrosion inside the Woory Industrial High Voltage Cabin Heater assembly. Because this is an internal, high-voltage powertrain component operating directly off the traction battery system, it falls squarely under Rivian's 8-year / 175,000-mile High Voltage System Warranty. The corrosion present on the high-voltage circuit board is a direct result of the factory HVAC water ingress defect acknowledged in Rivian's technical service bulletins for 2022-2024 R1S vehicles. A manufacturing defect that allows water to breach a sealed, high-voltage housing cannot be used to deny warranty coverage on a high-voltage system that is actively wRead more

The plastic upper rail glass guide frame on the rear sliding window assembly of my 2023 GMC Sierra developed structural micro-cracks during normal vehicle operation. This manufacturing defect is a known issue tracked internally by the manufacturer under Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #18-NA-383.This structural failure allows severe water intrusion into the passenger cabin. The leaking water runs
... straight down the inside back wall of the cab, completely flooding and corroding sensitive, factory-installed electronic safety modules mounted directly beneath the leak path. This continuous water intrusion caused the catastrophic electrical failure and corrosion of the video processing control module located behind the rear seat. The sudden failure of this module completely disabled the rearview digital mirror camera and the 360-degree perimeter driver assistance cameras, creating immediate blind spots and an active driving safety hazard while operating the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected and repaired by an authorized dealership, confirming the rear window leak as the direct cause of the electronic destruction. The out-of-pocket cost to replace the water-damaged safety components was $2,747.00. Because the manufacturer refused to cover the replacement of the defective rear glass assembly, the structural leak remains unresolved. This active water intrusion continues to flood the cabin, creating a health hazard via mold growth and guaranteeing that the newly replaced safety cameras will inevitably short-circuit and fail again.Read more

The part behind the dashboard touchscreen for the radio went bad, they call it the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module). It allows us to see the screen when in reverse among other things. They are incredibly common to go bad on certain model years of ford vehicles. Very expensive to fix as the module is programmed per VIN. The screen does not work, just stays black the entire time.

We lease a 2026 Palisade with only 4k miles. Several weeks ago I was going through a toll plaza, car would not accelerate after slowing down, as if it was in neutral. All of a sudden it kicked into gear and car lunged forward. 10 min later at a traffic light car failed to accelerate after a complete stop. Press the accelerator sluggish response, then kicked back into gear. Very Scary. I pulled
... over and notified the dealer. Then set an appoint. Dealer did a diagnostic, found no issues, could not replicate problem on test drive . Everything was fine a few weeks. My son took the car. Had the same exact issue with vehicle not accelerating. Then kicked into gear really hard and vibrating. This was scary for him because he was in a parking lot. Luckily there was no accident as a result. However, this time an error code (check engine light) came on and the Hyundai app showed a DTC CODE- P001600 (powertrain / engine). Car was immediately taken to dealer on May 28th 2026. It is now Jun 11th. Still no time frame for fix. The THINK it a software issue and Hyundai is still "working" on a solution.Read more

While my wife was operating our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III (5.7L HEMI eTorque, ~44,700 miles) at highway speed, the vehicle suffered a sudden and complete electrical power failure. Electric power steering cut out completely while the vehicle was in motion, creating an immediate safety hazard and nearly causing an accident. The vehicle was disabled and required towing. The dealership (Safford J
... eep) diagnosed fault code P0B32: catastrophic internal hardware and voltage failure of the 48-volt eTorque Hybrid Battery Pack. The 12-volt battery was also destroyed as a consequence of the 48V pack failure — the 12V charges exclusively via a DC-to-DC converter fed by the 48V loop; when the pack failed, the converter lost power and the 12V battery was starved of charge. NOTE: This incident is consistent with the active NHTSA ODI preliminary evaluation of 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Ram 1500 eTorque electrical failures. FCA/Stellantis has acknowledged these failures are likely caused by an electrical concern. My P0B32 event represents a catastrophic failure of the exact system under investigation, with the additional safety consequence of complete loss of power steering at highway speed. Stellantis Corporate Case #96719164 is open. The vehicle has been repaired (48V battery pack replaced) but Stellantis has declined to address the warranty access barrier created by their diagnostic system architecture. The dealer's equipment required a new 12-volt battery installation before it could communicate with the covered hybrid system — a $645 mandatory prerequisite to accessing a Federal Emissions Warranty repair.Read more

Our 2026 Honda Passport TSE suddenly stalled twice in active traffic intersections in Albuquerque, NM under acceleration and during a left turn, causing a sudden loss of motive power and a severe safety hazard and a potentially life threatening situation. Telemetry logs from an aftermarket GPS device installed in my vehicle captured a catastrophic voltage drop down to 10.886V during the incident,
... which electrically blinded the ECU and prevented the vehicle from storing a diagnostic trouble code.
