I am writing to formally report a concern regarding excessive rear brake wear on my 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning. My vehicle currently has approximately 21,000 miles, and I have been informed that the rear brake pads and/or rotors require replacement significantly earlier than would be expected under normal driving conditions. Given that the F-150 Lightning utilizes regenerative braking technology,
... I expected brake component wear to be substantially reduced compared to conventional vehicles. Vehicle Information: Owner: [XXX] Model: 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 21,000 miles Selling/Servicing Dealer: Shultz Ford Date of Purchase: December 2023 I am concerned that the level of rear brake wear may indicate a defect, design issue, or improper brake system operation. I respectfully request that Ford review this matter and determine whether this condition is covered under warranty, subject to a Technical Service Bulletin, or associated with any known issues affecting this model. Please advise what diagnostic steps Ford recommends and whether assistance with repair costs may be available. I would also appreciate information regarding any similar complaints, investigations, or known issues related to excessive rear brake wear on the 2023 F-150 Lightning. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and a timely resolution of this concern. To Whom It May Concern, I am the owner of a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu that is affected by the ongoing backup camera safety recall. I am submitting this complaint because this defect is not a minor inconvenience—it is a serious safety issue that places me, my family, pedestrians, and other motorists at risk every time the vehicle is operatesThe rearview camera system is a federally required safety fe
... ature designed to help drivers detect people, vehicles, and obstacles behind the vehicle. When the camera fails, freezes, goes blank, displays a distorted image, or does not activate properly when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, I am left without a critical safety system that I relied upon when purchasing this vehicle This defect has significantly reduced my confidence in the safety and reliability of my Chevrolet Malibu. A vehicle with a known safety recall involving visibility and accident prevention creates constant concern, especially when backing out of parking spaces, residential driveways, crowded parking lots, and areas where children or pedestrians may be present. The possibility of striking a person, vehicle, or object because a manufacturer-installed safety system fails is unacceptable. I purchased this vehicle in good faith expecting Chevrolet to provide a safe and dependable product. Instead, I am driving a vehicle that has been identified as having a safety-related defect serious enough to warrant a recall. While recalls are intended to correct safety issues, owners should not be left dealing with uncertainty regarding when the problem will be fully resolved or whether additional failures may occur in the future. Because this defect directly impacts a critical safety system and has diminished my trust in the vehicle, I respectfully request that General Motors and Chevrolet review my case for additional relief beyond the standard recall repair. The vehicle exhibits a chronic, systemic electrical failure characterized by the intermittent loss of critical lighting systems, including turn signals and brake lights. This failur5e has persisted over several years and thousands of miles, independent of battery replacements or specific usage patterns. The issue has been confirmed via multiple independent service interventions. Most notably, in
... February 2024, a third-party professional repair - which included the replacement of the Power Distribution Unit (Central Fuse Box) was performed to address these electrical faults. Despite this professional intervention, the defect recurred in May 2026. The failure of the turn signals and brake lights while in traffic resulted in a Law Enforcement stop and the issuance of a citation. Prior to total failure, the vehicle often displays erratic engine performance, including sputtering and hesitation. These symptoms were identified early in the Vehicle's history, but inquiries regarding recall campaigns for similar Makes and Models were denied by Authorized Dealerships, who cited recall registry despite exhibiting identical Mechanical and Electrical failure modes. The failure of the brake lights and turn signals poses a severe and immediate safety risk to myself, my passengers, other motorists and those on the road...as it creates an unpredictable environment were emergency stopping and lane changes cannot be communicated to the surrounding traffic. The electrical architecture of this vehicle is fundamentally flawed, as evidenced by the recurring nature of the defect despite multiple repair attempts, including the replacement of the primary fuse distribution center. The vehicle, all service records. third-party repair receipt, and relevant law enforcement citation are available for inspection upon request to support this report. The recurring loss of safety-critical signaling systems represents a systemic design defect rather than isolated wear & tear.Read more

Vehicle: 2025 BMW X3 30 xDrive | VIN: [XXX] | Dealer: Weatherford BMW of Berkeley | No crash, no injury Complaint narrative: My 2025 BMW X3 30 xDrive (VIN [XXX]) has an open, active safety recall. BMW of North America has confirmed to me in writing (Executive Customer Care case #[XXX], most recently June 18, 2026) that the remedy parts are not available, and it has provided no repair date or est
... imated availability. I first raised this in April 2026; it remains unrepaired. Because of the open recall, BMW Financial Services will not allow me to transfer or pay off my lease, yet I continue to be charged $631.98 per month for a vehicle I cannot transfer and that has an unremedied safety defect. BMW has not offered a loaner, interim payment relief, or a repair timeline. I am requesting that NHTSA note the extended unavailability of the recall remedy for this vehicle. The 2025 X3 30 xDrive is subject to multiple BMW safety recalls; at least one campaign — NHTSA 25V202000 (starter-generator / positive battery cable; risk of engine stall and fire) — was issued with an interim notice stating the remedy was not yet available and that a second notice would follow once the remedy is ready, which is consistent with what BMW has told me. I am seeking confirmation of the exact open campaign on my VIN and a timely, free remedy as required by federal law. Failed Component: Powertrain (PCM/TCM/HCP software calibration) & Electrical/Steering (Fire Recalls). Safety Risk & Description: Following recent mandatory manufacturer software updates, this vehicle has developed a severe, dangerous drivetrain defect. Under light acceleration from a complete stop, the vehicle exhibits an extreme throttle lag and hard delay before violently surging forward, creati
... ng a high risk of intersection collisions. Furthermore, at sustained highway speeds (52–63 MPH), the vehicle abruptly drops out of Electric Mode, causing the gas engine to violently spike to 5,000 RPMs before dropping back. This erratic cycling causes the vehicle to lurch, jerk, and pull, actively disrupting lane control. Compounding this, due to consecutive, unresolved fire safety recalls—including Recall 68C (Battery Fires) and the June 2026 Power Steering Pump wiring fire recall—the vehicle cannot be safely parked inside my garage or near structures while turned off. It represents a total loss of normal use and a severe safety liability. Dealer Confirmation & History: The driving defect was formally duplicated and confirmed by a certified technician on 06/09/2026 at Ryan Auto Mall (Repair Order #471599). The technician explicitly documented the electric mode dropouts and acceleration lag in writing. However, because the vehicle’s software masking prevents standard Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from triggering, the dealer closed the ticket stating it is "operating as designed." The vehicle's electrical and hybrid systems have been repeatedly altered via mandatory safety recalls: Recall 23A/04B (05/14/2024), Recall 95B (05/27/2025), and Recall 68C (02/11/2026). No dashboard warning lights are present; the dangerous handling is entirely coded into the manufacturer's latest software updates. Vehicle is intact and available for inspection.Read more

On 6/16 we experienced a Freightliner Optiview Dash Flat Panel Delamination with resulted in lines going through the gauges on the Dash. The Dash appears to be functioning with the defect. Initially we thought the flat panel display had cracked. We contacted Freightliner 24/7 Technical Support (Case #15355287) to report the issue. The Representative said that he had not heard of this issue. Whe
... n in fact Freightliner had a recall on the flat panel units manufactured by Medallion Inc, that our Motorhome was not included based on the 2020 model year. We asked the Freightliner representative if the Dash flat panel could stop working which would present a safety issues while traveling down the highway. The Representative would not offer any guidance. He said we should check our fluid levels and in the event the Dash fails we should monitor our speed with a GPS. The representative indicated that we should contact a local Freightliner Service Center to determine what the replacement cost would be for a new Dash flat panel since we were out of warranty. We contacted our local Freightliner Service Center in Hattiesburg, MS. Freightliner part number 66-02439-000 They quoted the cost at $5133 + Installation A search on the Medallion Delamination issue is wide spread across Trucks and many different Motorhome manufacturers. When we first purchased our Motorhome in 2020 the Dash would blackout while traveling down the highway. Freightliner indicated that is was a firmware issue. Flashed the unit and issue has not repeated itself. This was 1 model year after the Medallion flat panel recall. While we understand that component failures can occur having your Dash fail while underway is not acceptable and a manufacturer who cannot answer whether it will eventually fail and will need to replaced.Read more

The dealer's own repair order Line B states: RECALL 25SB6 REVERSING LAMP INSPECTION, VERIFIED OPEN RECALL, at $0 warranty pay. After verifying the open recall on this VIN, the dealer still refused to replace the moisture-failed light bar under the recall. Instead, they have charged me $190 customer-pay to check and advise on water in the red bar and white reverse light, the identical defect the recall fixes for free. The dealer also tried to bill my third-party extended service plan and told me to file an auto insurance claim. All three are improper: a federal recall remedy must be provided free by the manufacturer (49 USC 30120), not charged to the customer, an insurer, or a service contract. SAFETY RISK: A truck backing up without working reverse lamps is more likely to strike a pedestrian or a child below the driver's sightline, since others are not alerted the vehicle is reversing. Reverse lamps are federally required. This failure can result in serious injury or death. REQUEST: Please document (1) the recurring light bar moisture and reverse-lamp defect, (2) the dealer's refusal to remedy a verified open recall free of charge, (3) the improper $190 diagnostic charge, and (4) attempts to shift recall cost to the customer, a service contract, and auto insurance. Our 2019 Kia Niro EV (approximately 138,000 miles) exhibits an abnormal rumble/growling noise from the front drive unit while driving slowly in "D" range and when accelerating or decelerating between 0–25 mph. This symptom matches exactly the condition described in Kia Technical Service Bulletin ELE234 (Rev. 1, April 2021): "Drive Unit Inspection & Replacement for EV Motor Rumble Noise," which c
... overs all 2019MY Niro EV vehicles produced from December 5, 2018. To our knowledge, TSB ELE234 has never been performed on this vehicle. The repair involves replacement of motor/roll mount brackets and, if necessary, traction motor or reduction gear replacement. Kia has a documented, tiered repair procedure for this exact issue with assigned labor operation codes. The failure presents a safety concern because drivetrain noise at low speed can precede loss of drive power or sudden drivetrain failure, which creates a hazard in traffic, intersections, and during highway merging. Despite the existence of this TSB since April 2021, NHTSA appears to have few or no formal complaints logged for this specific defect, meaning it has not triggered the regulatory scrutiny it warrants given the documented widespread nature of the issue. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether a formal recall of affected 2019 Kia Niro EV vehicles is warranted for this drivetrain defect.Read more

Vehicle has experienced multiple electrical and mechanical failures at unusually low mileage. Purchased at 32,000 miles. At approximately 50,000 miles, the factory radio/infotainment system failed completely. Electrical systems were observed remaining active after the vehicle was powered off, suggesting an underlying electrical fault. At approximately 60,000 miles, the power steering rack and fuel
... pump both required full replacement and were confirmed and replaced by an authorized dealership. No warning lights appeared prior to these failures — components failed without any prior indication. At approximately 100,000 miles, the transmission began failing and exhibits the known torque converter shudder issue widely reported on this vehicle platform. The shudder was present prior to full transmission failure symptoms appearing. The pattern of premature failures across multiple unrelated systems — electrical, steering, fuel delivery, and transmission — suggests a broader manufacturing defect.Read more

In February 2026, my windshield was replaced by a third-party glass company after a crack. Shortly after, my vehicle’s driver assistance system began activating falsely — beeping, displaying warnings, and on a few occasions attempting to auto-correct the steering wheel while my hands were already on it. The ‘hands on wheel’ warning has displayed while I was actively holding the wheel. The
... glass company has serviced the vehicle four times since, including replacing the camera bracket, resetting the windshield seal, and installing a full OEM windshield and bracket as recently as June 15, 2026. Camera recalibration has passed successfully each time. Despite this, the false activations have continued and worsened. On June 17, 2026, the system activated approximately 25 times during a single commute of about 30 minutes, including while braking and during slow-speed maneuvers such as parking. The vehicle’s steering wheel was replaced in January 2025 under a manufacturer Technical Service Bulletin for an unrelated known defect and functioned without issue for over a year before this began. I am scheduling a dealership appointment to diagnose the cause. This is a safety concern because the system unpredictably intervenes with steering input and produces frequent distracting false alerts while drivingRead more

Shortly after purchasing used last year I had my brake, traction control, ABS, & TPMS lights come on when stopping at a stop light all at once. I went and had it scanned and no codes showed up. I hear a buzzing from the brake actuator/ brake pump every 15 seconds. This all has been going on for almost a year now. Over the weekend a loud buzzing warning alarm came on that will not turn off. Driving to work and the vehicle suddenly turned off in the middle of the road just as I had turned the corner onto another street leaving me in a dangerous spot. There was no warning lights or anything it just shut off and would not start back up. Sister had to wait with vehicle while brother in law drove me to work. Had to have the vehicle towed to Tinney Chevrolet GMC service department and
... after they completed their service found out the FUEL PUMP MODULE failed. I was told GMC has open recall for 2022 GMC Terrain on this exact issue but for some reason my VIN number doesn't come from the HUB they issued the recall from? I find it suspicious my vehicle had the exact same part fail and left me in a dangerous situation with traffic coming around the corner as well as the inconvenience of family having to come take me to work and sit with my vehicle waiting for the tow truck. I had a bill from the service dept. for this repair of $671.15 and the towing company was $125.00 I would hope GMC would look into the fuel pump module issue for all 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles.Read more
