Incident date: Mar 11, 2026
While traveling at highway speed during rush hour commute, the vehicle lost engine power and stalled. While coasting, I tried to restart the engine several times without success. Before coming to a stop, I attempted to get to the shoulder safely. Unfortunately, a portion of the vehicle was left partially in the lane and on the shoulder. Once I was completely stopped, I tried to put the electronic
... shift control into neutral so I could push the vehicle safely to the shoulder. The shifter would not allow me to shift into neutral and other override methods researched failed to work. I continued to try and restart the vehicle without success. I was in an unsafe position during rush hour commute for about 50 minutes until roadside assistance arrived and loaded and towed the vehicle. There was no warning of the issue prior to the incident. A code (P129F-Fuel Pump Driver Control Module Speed Signal Incorrect) was produced after the stall occurred via my GMC app. My vehicle was towed to my local dealership for service, but have not received the vehicle back at the time of reporting.Read more

I was driving eastbound in my 2012 Kia Sportage on I-82 just past Benton City MP97 at about 11AM on Monday June 22, 2026, when my engine knocked twice, the red check engine light came on, and I lost power. I pulled over off the road next to a concrete barrier that was beside a rock roadcut. My flashers would not operate, I put it into park, turned off the ignition and immediately noticed the smell
... of burning oil or rubber. I had 2 half gallon containers of water on my front seat, so I popped the switch, lifted the hood, used the prop rod to hold the hood up as I started dowsing the flames that were popping up on the passenger side of my engine compartment near the firewall. After using both half gallons, I ran to the rear of the vehicle, opened the hatchback, and grabbed a gallon spray bottle of water and brought that back around to the front of the vehicle. By this point the prop rod holding the hood was bending and the flames were popping back up, I pumped the sprayer and directed a stream of water with my left hand and used my right to hold up the hood as the prop rod was not working. After the fire was completely out, I returned to the rear of the vehicle, donned my reflective vest, put a portable flasher on my vehicle, and at this point a Benton County fireman in a pickup arrived - he was called by a motorist that saw me pulling over with smoke trailing my vehicle. The fireman was followed by a large firetruck and crew. They propped up the hood with a bar and inspected the motor to verify the fire was completely extinguished. They took my information and left. A Washington State Patrol arrived, assessed the scene and offered assistance, but I already had called my wife so he left me to wait for her. He told me I had 24 hours to get the car off the interstate. I had the car towed to my driveway by A&E towing at about 2:30PM. I just realized this morning that I ought to report it to you. I haven't tried to start it, but I'm sure it won't.Read more

While underway at speeds under 20 mph. Vehicle hesitates and lurches creating a danger when taking off from a stop light. Vehicle may delay acceleration from a stop, which can feel unsafe in traffic and in merging situations. This activity is uncontrollable as the driver has no control and could lead to an accident or injury to pedestrians or other wise. Another problem is rough shifting, hard down
... shifts and a jerking. There is both an audible clunk and felt responce or "shift shock". Potential safety risk of hesitation or unexpected gear changes may compromise vehicle control. I have reported and visited the Bradenton Nissan dealership. (2 times) to no avail.Read more

The vehicle has suffered a total failure of the audio output system/amplifier. While the central infotainment screen visually illuminates and functions correctly, there is zero audio output across all speakers and inputs. The failed component is currently in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. Because there is no audio output, all voice-activated, hands-free Bluetooth callin
... g and audible turn-by-turn GPS navigation cues are non-functional. Operating the vehicle safely over long distances or in traffic is compromised because utilizing navigation now forces the driver to physically look away from the road to read visual maps on the screen, creating an immediate, severe driver distraction that puts my family and other motorists at risk. The total audio failure was officially diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Kia dealership service center. The dealership verified that the system outputs zero sound and stated that the entire multimedia/audio control assembly requires a complete replacement. The component has been inspected and diagnosed directly by authorized Kia dealership service technicians, and an official corporate case has been opened with Kia America for a goodwill escalation. There were no warning lamps, error messages, or preliminary symptoms prior to the incident. The audio output system failed suddenly and completely without warning, while the visual dashboard screen remained active.Read more

The power liftgate on my 2024 Toyota Sienna consistently fails to complete a full close-and-latch cycle. When activated, the liftgate begins its closing sequence normally but then aborts the cycle during the final stages of latching. The system emits an audible beeping signal and the liftgate reverses direction, reopening approximately one-quarter of the way. This failure occurs repeatedly when th
... e vehicle is stationary with no external obstruction present. Multiple repeated attempts to close the liftgate using standard operation (key fob, interior switch, and exterior switch) result in the same failure pattern. The system does not complete a secure latch. Eventually, the liftgate can only be fully closed manually with physical force, bypassing the powered closing function entirely. This condition occurs intermittently at times but has become frequent and repeatable enough to prevent reliable use of the power liftgate system. No obstructions are present during operation. The local Toyota dealership service department observed this and indicated a lift gate adjustment is required, noting it is a known issue Toyota Customer Care has indicated they have no documented record of a known defect relating to this condition. However, multiple independent owner reports and dealer-level discussions indicate similar behavior may be occurring in other vehicles of the same model line, suggesting a potential systemic issue that may not yet be formally recognized. This malfunction raises potential safety concerns, including but not limited to: failure of the rear liftgate to fully secure and latch, increased risk of the liftgate remaining partially open or unlatched without clear driver awareness, and reliance on manual force to override an electronic safety system designed for automatic secure closure. I request that this complaint be documented for investigation and review to determine whether a defect trend exists in the power liftgate system of the Toyota Sienna platform.Read more

Since the 68C recall from Jeep, my vehicle has not been functioning properly. The 68C recall was issued because the high-voltage battery cells have a defect that causes them to short-circuit and catch fire. To avoid replacing hundreds of thousands of expensive batteries all at once, Jeep implemented a "fix" via a software flash. The new software "fix" heavily restricts how much power can be drawn
... from the high-voltage battery to keep it from getting warm. If you push the pedal enough to draw more than roughly 40–50% power—or if the battery temperature hits a strictly lowered threshold—the software abruptly chokes the electric motor and fires up the ICE engine to compensate. Because the electric motor just lost its punch, the computer frantically fires up the gasoline engine to make up the difference. Because there is an inherent delay while the gas engine starts up and matches the transmission speed, it engages with a sudden, frustrating lurch or surge. This is just one of the many problems i have found since jeeps "fix" has been implemented. Basically Jeep elected to reduce the capacity of the battery to avoid costly replacement of the real issue with the battery. This has resulted in a driving safety concern with the surging and hesitation. Also now I can no longer drive exclusively in the electric mode; electric mode is basically non-existent.Read more

I have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid. When I first got the vehicle I could drive in the electric mode without kicking over to the gasoline mode. Upon getting my Jeep back I can no longer drive in the electric mode without the Jeep surging into and
... out of the gas mode. This happens at different times, slow speeds or fast speeds. The jeep does hesitate or bogs down prior to engaging the gas mode. After takinThe 68C recall was issued because the high-voltage battery cells have a defect (separator damage) that causes them to short-circuit and catch fire. To avoid replacing hundreds of thousands of expensive batteries all at once, Stellantis implemented a "fix" via a software flash. Here is exactly what that software is doing to your driving experience: Aggressive Battery Throttling: The new software heavily restricts how much power can be drawn from the high-voltage battery to keep it from getting warm. If you push the pedal enough to draw more than roughly 40–50% power—or if the battery temperature hits a strictly lowered threshold—the software abruptly chokes the electric motor. The Violent Engine Surge: Because the electric motor just lost its punch, the computer frantically fires up the gasoline engine to make up the difference. Because there is an inherent delay while the gas engine starts up and matches the transmission speed, it engages with a sudden, frustrating lurch or surge. While driving my 2026 Tesla Model Y in June 2026, the vehicle suddenly applied steering input on its own and began swerving left and right even though there were no obstacles in the road. I was driving on a straight section of roadway, centered in my lane, when the steering wheel started moving by itself as if the lane keeping system and steering were confused. I had to fight the wheel in both dir
... ections to keep the car from veering toward the curb and toward the adjacent lane. It felt like struggling against another person at the wheel. Fortunately there were no vehicles directly beside me at that moment, so I was able to avoid a collision, but this behavior could easily cause an accident for a typical driver. This incident is part of an ongoing pattern of safety issues with this vehicle. Since late 2025, I have experienced multiple events where the car fails to respond to the accelerator after shifting into Drive and behaves as if it is in neutral until I shift back to Park and then into Drive again including a complete loss of propulsion while driving in moderate traffic. Tesla has already performed recall repairs on the battery/battery contactors and multiple diagnostic visits for intermittent loss of propulsion and steering concerns, but the problems continue. I am filing this complaint because I believe there is a serious defect involving the steering, propulsion system, and lane keeping driver assist systems that could cause loss of control and a crash.Read more

Contact Techline was told update coming." Corporate engineering knowingly discharged a defective vehicle back into public operation without a functioning collision avoidance system.Star Engineering Admission: On 5/15/26 (34,461 miles), following extensive factory hardware resets via the wiTECH diagnostic network and manual sensor/camera recalibrations, the safety defect persisted. Stellantis Corporate Engineering (Star Agent) explicitly ordered the dealership techs to return the malfunctioning vehicle to the consumer because it lacked an active Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), stating the safety hazard was merely "currently under investigation."Current Grounded Status: On 6/8/26 (approx 36,000 miles), Certified technicians determined an instrument cluster needed ordered and legally "grounded" the vehicle on the dealer lot due to federal odometer rules. The vehicle is currently sidelined awaiting a backordered instrument panel cluster (IPC). Public Safety Impact: Stellantis is willfully ignoring a widespread component or software defect in its integrated digital instrument cluster and forward-facing camera arrays. By ordering dealerships to return vehicles with dead pedestrian emergency braking systems to consumers due to a lack of DTC’s, they are creating an immediate, severe hazard to occupants and pedestrians on public roadsRead more

I am submitting this complaint regarding my Volkswagen vehicle because it has experienced two recurring defects during the warranty period that remain unresolved despite repeated repair attempts by the dealership. Issue 1 – Excessive Oil Consumption The vehicle has had a persistent excessive oil consumption problem since the warranty period. The dealership has attempted to repair this defect si
... x times, including replacing an engine valve, but the issue continues. The vehicle still consumes excessive oil, requiring frequent monitoring and topping off. This creates a serious safety concern because low engine oil can result in engine damage, sudden loss of engine power, engine seizure, or an increased risk of fire while driving. Issue 2 – Electrical System Failure The vehicle has also experienced ongoing electrical problems involving the keyless entry system, repeated 12V Battery Low warnings, inoperative interior lights, and loss of connectivity with the Volkswagen mobile app. These problems have persisted despite nine repair attempts by the dealership and remain unresolved. The vehicle has spent a significant amount of time at the dealership throughout 2025 and 2026 for these recurring defects. The repeated electrical failures raise significant safety concerns. The keyless entry system can fail to unlock or recognize the key, the low 12V battery warnings indicate an unresolved electrical issue, and the loss of interior lighting reduces visibility inside the vehicle. The repeated failures also raise concerns about the reliability of other critical electrical systems and the possibility of the vehicle failing to start or operating unpredictably. Despite six repair attempts for excessive oil consumption and nine for electrical defects, Volkswagen has been unable to permanently fix these issues. I request NHTSA investigate whether these recurring failures indicate a broader safety defect requiring corrective action. Currently car is back to dealership for repair againRead more

My properly maintained 2020 Hyundai Palisade suffered catastrophic engine failure at 77,000 miles. Importantly, prior to the engine failure, no check engine lights, low oil warnings, or other warning indicators were active or displayed. The vehicle gave no indication of an imminent catastrophic engine failure or lack of oil. In researching this matter, I have found numerous reports, as well as a
... ctive and settled litigation, involving Hyundai engine failures and oil consumption concerns. Severe oil starvation due to engine manufacture issues caused a thrown rod which can result in fire. The car was being driven by my teenage son after dark and the engine completely shut down putting him in harm's way in the middle of the road. Hyundai has repeatedly refused my requests for assistance in repairing this known issue due to my being a second owner with a lesser warranty that is given to 1st owners. This issue is a safety concern and a known issue to HCA and should be a recall to insure it stops happening.Read more

The car burns oil within a week of getting an oil change. It was only driven a 200 miles before all of the oil was burned out. This has been a consistent issue with this car that the oil burns at an extreme rate. This is a safety risk as it could lead to engine overheating, the engine could stall out due to the fast burning of the oil, or a potential fire hazard while driving. The oil light will c
... ome on for a second and at that point, the oil is already EXTREMELY too low. I brought the car to the mechanic and they have told me multiple times that there is no leak or anything. The mechanic says that the car simply is burning oil too fast.Read more
