Hybrid Control Unit failure was the fault that came up on the screen. 3rd time within 3 months now. The HCU was just replaced a week ago at the KIA dealership and the vehicle is only 1 year old. This left my wife stranded on the side of a busy highway in 100 degree temps over the 4th of July holiday.

In 2018 shottenkirk desert lexus marked two recalls as completed but also simultaneously typed in a note saying "customer declined worked and is out of town" The original part number and quantity fields are left blank. The dealership was paid for these items. I do not have anywhere in the vehicle history after that date showing any recalls were addressed. The recalls are the airbag which is a saf

Finally--once I reported to lexus corporate and the dealer General manager, the GM Matt attempted to offer me a cash settlement and repairs but I must sign a non disclosure. This dealership sold me this vehicle with deferred recall work that was never remedied in 2022. I'm disabled and have a child. This dealerahip is trying to cover up their felonious actions and I am taking the car to another dealership to document what parts are on my car and how to proceed. I have reported to OAG, DMV, AND BAR. IM also filing police report and filing with the district attorney office.Read more

Summary of the Problem Rear subframe assembly and multiple rear suspension links required full replacement due to failure/wear at approximately 51,890 miles, on a vehicle with no history of collision or accident damage. Tesla diagnosed the issue as an interior rattle/squeak reproducible over bumpy roads and speed bumps, which led to replacement of the rear subframe and nearly the entire rear sus
... pension link set. Total repair cost was approximately $7,667.65, entirely out of pocket, as Tesla stated no recall applies to this VIN. Full Description (detailed narrative field) In December 2025, I began noticing a rattling/squeaking noise from the rear of my 2019 Tesla Model 3, reproducible on bumpy roads, speed bumps, and rail tracks. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has no history of collision damage. I brought the vehicle to Tesla Service (Fremont, CA) on 07-Jan-2026 at 51,890 miles. Tesla's diagnosis found it necessary to replace: The rear subframe assembly Rear toe link assemblies (left and right) Rear upper fore link assemblies (left and right) Rear lower fore link assemblies (left and right) Rear upper aft link assemblies (left and right) Front lower compliance links (left and right) Front lower lateral links (pair) A four-wheel alignment This amounted to nearly a full rear (and partial front) suspension rebuild, at a cost of $6,843.34 for this job alone, and $7,667.65 total, entirely at my expense. Tesla confirmed there is no open recall covering this VIN or this failure. I am concerned this represents a premature structural/suspension component failure unrelated to accident damage or normal wear, at a mileage (51,890) that suggests a potential defect in the subframe or suspension hardware/corrosion resistance for this model year, rather than an isolated wear item. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA can evaluate whether this is part of a broader pattern for 2019 Model 3 vehicles.Read more

The oil pan is consistently out of oil. It burns up. Causing the engine to stall, shake or grind at times. We have been having this problem for 2 years now. Taken it to 2 different dealerships. They confirmed it needs a new engine however Kia will not replace it for us. It is a known problem with these vehicles and there is a lawsuit currently going on. We have receipts from dealerships, we
... have been stranded on the side of the road many times and can not drive it due to risk of fire or engine seizing. We used to keep oil in the car at all times and check it frequently. Now we are afraid to drive it and damage it any more. We have done all the recalls and because the one recall was a piston ring system update, we aren't covered under the recall then. The system must be faulty. We do get a check engine light or oil light on when the car stalls, otherwise we just have to keep watching the oil that keeps disappearing. Kia has denied us the new engine after asking for an Out-of-Warranty Goodwill Breakdown for the car. The first owner went 10,000 miles without seeing a dealership and we did as well when we first bought it. The problems started at 57,700 miles. The car is junk and they wanted to give us a deal on the new engine $7,750 out the door. WOW, it's not our fault the engine or the piston rings burn the oil and are burning the engine up. Kia is at fault, their cars are crappy.Read more

I'm filing an urgent safety complaint regarding a series of severe defects in my 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan (VIN: [XXX]) that pose immediate, life-threatening hazards. On XXX, I took delivery of the vehicle, which was refueled by the dealership. By XXX, with temperatures soaring to 104°F, I encountered three critical issues: 1. **Engine Stall During Low-Speed Turn**: While turning at 2 MPH, the en
... gine shut off without warning, losing power steering and brakes, and displaying a message to "manually restart the engine." 2. **Engine Stall While Reversing**: The engine stalled again while reversing into a parking spot, triggering the same emergency warning. 3. **Structural Window Seal Failure**: At 55 MPH, the driver-side window seal tore away, becoming a projectile that struck the passenger-side window, creating a severe distraction and road hazard. Despite reporting the engine stalling issues to the dealership, the service manager didn’t open a formal Repair Order, citing the stalling as "intermittent." On July 5, while attempting to refuel with half a tank, gasoline violently sprayed from the rear undercarriage, indicating a catastrophic failure of the fuel tank venting system. These incidents within 72 hours of delivery highlight systemic manufacturing and quality control failures. I have had the car towed back to the dealership via flatbed tow and the Volkswagen roadside assistance representative assisted with this transaction. I urge the NHTSA to investigate the fuel tank venting mechanisms, engine management software, and exterior seals of the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan. Immediate action is necessary to quarantine this VIN ([XXX]) and assess potential safety recalls or stop-sales. I am submitting this complaint regarding a paint defect on my 2020 Buick Enclave. The passenger-side rear door has significant top-coat peeling and flaking, exposing the primer and metal underneath. This deterioration is not normal wear for a six-year-old vehicle that has been properly maintained and protected from environmental conditions. The pattern of peeling indicates a failure of the top coa
... t or clear coat applied during manufacturing. The paint layers are separating prematurely, reducing corrosion protection and long-term durability. Exposed metal increases the risk of rust, structural weakening, and potential failure of the door panel, which may affect occupant safety in the event of a collision. I am aware that similar paint adhesion failures have been reported across multiple General Motors vehicles, and class-action lawsuits are currently pending alleging defective basecoat and clearcoat systems that cause premature peeling, bubbling, and flaking. The number of complaints suggests a broader manufacturing issue rather than isolated consumer misuse. Although my vehicle’s limited warranty has expired, the defect is clearly premature and manufacturing-related. A properly applied top coat should not fail this early, especially on a vehicle that has been routinely washed, waxed, and stored in normal conditions. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this issue and consider opening an investigation into paint top-coat failures on Buick and other GM vehicles. Premature paint failure affects corrosion resistance, vehicle longevity, and consumer value, and may compromise the safety of occupants and other drivers if corrosion spreads or structural integrity is reduced. I am willing to provide photographs, documentation, and maintenance records to support this complaint. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your commitment to consumer safety and manufacturing accountability.Read more

After reading multiple forums, I've learned there's a known issue with the 2020 Tellurides burning excessive oil. We had noticed this before, but this time was worse. However, our kids later took the car to go to the store, and on the way, all of the warning lights lit up on th
... e display, and the car shut off on the highway. When I checked the car, I found the oil level was completely gone from the dipstick, so I added about 2.5 quarts of oil. I reported this to the Kia dealership and customer service. The vehicle had just slightly exceeded the 100,000-mile warranty (109,805 miles). The service interval was set for 3400 miles, with 725 miles and 90 days remaining. The engine was dry because of the excessive oil consumption known to Kia. The diagnostic from the dealership indicated an oil pump failure, but they did not have information about the oil addition since it wasn't relayed to them by the phone staff. There were no warning lights or engine noise indicating a low oil level before the incident. Apparently, Kia repeatedly dismisses this known issue and blames the owners. The interval of 3400 miles with 725 miles remaining far exceeds the manufacturer's recommended 6000-7000 miles for regular oil changes.Read more

... bad manufacturing run from their supplier (Hitachi Astemo), the resulting physical behavior—a steering rack that binds up in temperatures above 70°F and requires manual force to "pop" free—presents the exact same highway safety hazard in my 10th-generation vehicle. This is concerning and makes the vehicle unsafe to drive as steering is unpredictable.Read more

I am unable to manually turn on my lights, the vehicle stays on ‘automatic lights’. Headlight function remains normal within the automated functions, however, pursuing to Florida Statute 316.217 manual headlight control is necessary to turn on my headlights. The windshield wipers are an operation which does not take place unless the windshield wipers traveling at such speed, automated light co
... ntrol turns them on automatically. The cause of this is directly related to the software in the entertainment system that manually locks out the driver from addressing and turning on their own headlights.Read more

Vehicle Information: 2026 Honda CR-V Sport HybridComponent: Power Train / Hydraulic Brakes / Electronic Stability ControlDescription of Incident:On [Date], my 2026 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid was parked facing uphill on a steep incline. I started the vehicle, depressed the brake pedal, released the electronic parking brake, and shifted into Drive. Upon transitioning to the accelerator, the vehicle fai
... led to hold its position. It immediately and rapidly rolled backward down the incline, completely overriding the Hill Start Assist (HSA) mechanism. Despite accelerator input, the hybrid powertrain failed to deliver the instantaneous forward torque required to counter gravity. The vehicle gained rearward momentum and collided with a closed gate.Safety Justification:This un-commanded rollback presents a severe, systemic safety hazard. Research into hybrid consumer data reveals a documented pattern of drivers being blindsided by the lack of traditional automatic transmission "idle-creep" torque on inclines, combined with counter-intuitive electronic HSA deactivation thresholds. The vehicle’s software logic fails to safely manage dual-pedal inputs during hill starts, creating an unreasonable risk of rollback collisions.Read more

While driving down a busy neighborhood street 2 lanes with cars on both sides making it a 1 lane road pulled over to the side a little to let cars pass. All of a sudden ALL electrical and engine stopped and turned off. Only thing that was powered was instrument cluster with multiple warnings like SRS Malfunction, Steering Malfunction, SOS Inoperative, Parking Brake and more. We believe the car ha
... d also shifted to park on its own. No power to anything not even hazard lights. Nothing electrical had any sort of power. Could not even turn car off completely could not get the instrument cluster to turn off with ignition button. When I say everything electrical had no power I mean everything except instrument cluster. Hazard lights power locks, lights of any kind, ignition switch, gear selector, windows, sos feature, nothing had power. I could not imagine having this issue driving on the interstate and having the car completely loose ALL electrical power and what could happen to specially with a SRS malfunction and issue with steering. Had to have a wrecker come with wheel dollys because car could not be put in neutral and towed to Mercedes dealer. Upon their inspection they found the Circuit 30T relay to be stuck in the open position which killed power to everything so the technician replaced the engine compartment pre-fuse panel. It is such a unsafe and very hazardous issue to have a relay failure to where all power is lost especially if you were driving on interstate especially at night with traffic to loose everything electrical even hazard lights and headlights, SRS maltunction, Steering. Mercedes needs to figure this very unsafe issue out.Read more

I had adaptive cruise control on in moderately flowing traffic on the highway. Without warning the adaptive cruise control on it's own turned off/disengaged and slammed on the brakes. I had not changed lanes nor had anyone moved in front of me. The weather was clear. My safety and the safety of those behind me was put at risk. I've taken the vehicle to the dealer and they have not been able t
... o reproduce the issue yet. They inspected the vehicle and took it for an initial 7 mile test drive, said they didn't find any problems and tried to return the car. There were no warning lamps or messages before or after the incident. I didn't notice any when it happened as I was focused on trying to avoid an accident. Prior to the incident the adaptive cruise control has turned off multiple times with the message " Adaptive cruise assist: currently not available" for no apparent reason, but this is the first time hard breaking was applied.Read more
