While traveling with my fifth-wheel camper attached, my 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty (6.7L Power Stroke) suddenly developed a complete no-crank condition. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed multiple electrical warnings, including U0100 (Lost Communication with PCM), High Engine Temperature, AdvanceTrac, Blind Spot System Fault, Hill Start Assist, and Pre-Collision Assist warnings. The vehic
... le ultimately became disabled and would not crank or start, leaving me stranded away from home while towing a trailer. Repair Description After troubleshooting the vehicle, I discovered severe internal corrosion inside the under-hood Battery Junction Box (BJB). The corrosion appeared consistent with Ford Technical Service Bulletin 23-2133 regarding moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box on certain 2020–2022 Super Duty trucks. I purchased a genuine Ford replacement Battery Junction Box from a Ford dealership and installed it. Immediately after replacement, the vehicle started normally and all warning messages disappeared. I retained the failed Battery Junction Box and have photographs documenting the internal corrosion. Safety Concern My concern is not simply the repair cost but the safety implications of this failure. The vehicle became completely disabled while towing a fifth-wheel trailer during travel. A sudden electrical failure affecting the Battery Junction Box can leave occupants stranded and may create hazardous situations if it occurs in remote locations or during travel. Because Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box, I believe this condition should be evaluated to determine whether additional action is warranted.Read more

I have received a Code 95 error message for my 2018 Chevrolet Spark, which per the GM owner's manual means that there is an air bag problem. But, the alert does not appear consistently when operated. When driving, it does not appear. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The code only comes on after the car has been idling and not being driven
... (for example, it takes 2-3 minutes while in park but the engine being on for the code to come up on the screen). If the car is put into drive a minute or less after turning the ignition, the code does NOT appear; it only does when parked and the engine is running after a few minutes. The car is available for inspection upon NHTSA/DOT request. My safety is put at risk if the air bag does not deploy; if the alert code does not consistently appear when the car is in operation, it puts my safety at risk because I would not have any indication that there is a possible problem. The car has not been inspected by the manufacturer (to my knowledge), police, insurance representatives, or others. This has occurred at least three times since the start of 2026, with the most recent occurrence in June 2026.Read more

The car suddenly started to miss fire and lose power. This puts the driver and others in dangerous situations. If it happens when pulling out into traffic and the car misfired it could cause a serious crash. Honda service diagnosed that a blown head gasket causes coolant to leak into the cylinders, leading to engine misfires and a sudden loss of motive power at highway speeds. This issue is well d
... ocumented on 2016 to 2022 honda Accords. There are many documented cases of this exact premature failure. Honda is aware of this issue and has awarded some owners goodwill repair when outside of warranty. There is currently ongoing litigation because of the 10s of thousands of head gasket failures. My car has 75k miles and went out of warranty at 60k miles. My goodwill request was denied by local regional Honda Rep but I elevated the request to corporate Honda and currently waiting on their response.Read more

We purchased a brand new 2025 Honda Odyyssey in Nov. 2024. Within a couple months of owning our new vehicle we began having issues with the Auto Idle Stop system. The vehicle will not turn back on at random when stopped at any time when driving. This is a huge safety risk as this has often happened while stopped at a light. It’s also happened when in the drive through. Essentially any time stopp
... ed to then go from the brake to the gas. There are times I can get the vehicle restarted quickly and other times it just won’t turn back on for about 30 seconds. The battery light flashes at times when this happens, but not consistently every time. The screen also shuts off and all power to vehicle until I get it restarted. I have had moments where I thought someone was going to rear end me. This issue occurred three or more times prior to our vehicle being outside the warranty and prior to the mileage being outside the warranty. The dealership has since given us an issue now that we are outside the warranty saying that any repairs now fall on us even though this is a recurring issue. They “attempted several repairs” to which none have fixed the problem. We have spent more time in a rental vehicle and switching back and forth to different vehicles waiting for the vehicle to repaired then any family should deal with a brand new vehicle. We are a family of 7 and in no way have time to be completely jerked around and in a manner that the dealership is now trying to wash their hands of. They essentially promised a resolve till we got outside of our warranty window and now it’s no longer their responsibility. We feel completely strung along as now they informed us we don’t qualify for lemon law even though we absolutely did. We were also informed by Janelle the service manager that our vehicle isn’t made for short trips. We have videos of the vehicle having these moments and we have everything documented through text with the manager and service manager of Honda Checkered Flag.Read more

This report concerns the design of the front seat belt reminder system, which I believe creates a safety hazard. The audible warning begins the instant the engine starts — while the vehicle is stationary in Park — is very loud, and repeats indefinitely until the belt is latched. Federal Standard No. 208 requires only a short warning (up to 8 seconds); this immediate, persistent chime is a vol
... untary design choice. Other manufacturers (e.g., Honda) meet the same standard while chiming only once the vehicle is in motion, which is sufficient and far less intrusive. The safety problem: because the warning is so aggravating, owners are defeating their own seat belt systems. Owners across the Mazda lineup — CX-5, CX-30, CX-50, CX-90, Mazda3, and Mazda6 — publicly document this on owner forums ([XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX]) and in TikTok and YouTube tutorials. Common methods include cutting or de-pinning the buckle-latch wire so the car always reads as belted, and installing uncertified seat belt extenders or dummy buckles. The buckle-latch signal feeds the airbag/SRS control module and affects airbag and pretensioner deployment, so these workarounds degrade crash protection. NHTSA's own research notes that reminders annoying enough to be circumvented reduce seat belt use. Mazda has acknowledged the excessive chime volume in Technical Service Bulletin 09-002-24. The system operates as designed — the design itself is the hazard. Symptom: continuous chime and belt warning light at startup while in Park; vehicle available for inspection on request. I request that NHTSA review whether this reminder design induces unsafe circumvention and should be revised. In the four months that I have owned this car, the following issues have occurred and have not been resolved: - Google Maps suddenly stopped working while navigating while I was driving on multiple occasions. - Bluetooth connectivity will disconnect suddenly and not reconnect - All audio in the car has stopped since 7/2/26. This includes turn signals, safety alerts, cross traffic alert. This has
... happened on at least 4 separate occasions (lasting 2 days or more) and usually resolves, but this has persisted. I have called the service department each time and been told there is nothing they can do about it and that I have to wait for a software update. I updated the software on 6/15/26 and the problem seems to have gotten worse. - Backup camera intermittently does not work and screen is black - Radio will freeze on station. Audio will change but screen will not. - Climate control does not work on auto. Fan will not adjust based on temperature, has to be adjusted manually even in auto mode. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my children when driving in this vehicle. The electrical system has proven to be unpredictable, and my research has shown that this is not an isolated issue. The vehicle has been at a Volvo service center 3 times for this same issue and continues to have the same unresolved problems. Since approximately mid-2024, my 2017 Honda CR-V has intermittently displayed a cascading series of dashboard warning lights, including TPMS, ABS, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), EPS (Electric Power Steering), Brake System, Hill Start Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation. When active, these lights fully disable Honda Sensing driver-ass
... ist features. The pattern is consistent and recurring: warning lights remain active for approximately 3-4 days, then self-clear for 1-2 days, before recurring again. This cycle has repeated for over 18 months. A windshield replacement with camera recalibration temporarily resolved the issue for approximately one week before it returned. On 07/02/2026, I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership (Honda of Short Pump, Richmond, VA) specifically to diagnose this warning light cascade, and paid a $195 diagnostic fee. The technician's documented complaint states the lights are intermittent and 'stay on about 3-4 days.' Despite this being the stated complaint, the dealership's diagnostic report identified only two unrelated fault codes — P05A0 (Active Grille Shutter malfunction) and P0172 (Fuel System Too Rich) — and did not identify, report, or provide any code specific to the TPMS, ABS, VSA, EPS, or ADAS/camera systems actually affected. When asked, the service advisor verbally attributed the light cascade to the shutter and injector faults, but could not provide supporting diagnostic data. This explanation does not align with the reported timeline, as the TPMS/warning light cascade began approximately one year before the shutter fault (P05A0) reportedly occurred as a single, non-recurring event. I am concerned that a genuine intermittent fault affecting multiple safety-critical systems (ABS, VSA, EPS, braking, and collision avoidance) simultaneously has gone undiagnosed for over 18 months, and that this may represent a broader pattern affecting other 2017-2018 CR-VRead more

respectfully submit this correspondence to request formal assistance regarding my 2015 Kia Forte EX, a vehicle covered under the class settlement. The vehicle is exhibiting severe symptoms consistent with KSDS‑related engine failure, yet the required diagnostic protocol has not been completed by the servicing dealership. The KSDS software update was performed in May 2022, and the vehicle curren
... tly has only 92,000 miles on the odometer, placing it well within the settlement’s mileage parameters. Despite this, the dealership has failed to follow KSDS procedures and has not produced any written documentation of its findings. All communication with the dealership has occurred exclusively by telephone. Despite repeated attempts to obtain information, I have not received a diagnostic sheet, video recording, code report, KSDS documentation, or any written summary of the vehicle’s condition. All statements provided to me have been verbal and inconsistent. My **primary symptoms** include: - Persistent and worsening **engine ticking** - **Burning excessive amounts of oil** - Activation of **limp mode** - A **flashing check engine light** These symptoms align with known indicators of KSDS‑related engine failure and warrant immediate and proper diagnostic evaluation under the settlement terms. The dealership has verbally stated that the issue may be related to **spark plugs and ignition coils**. However, plugs and coils are a **well‑documented secondary symptom** of rod bearing failure, caused by oil contamination and misfires resulting from internal engine damage. This further supports the likelihood of KSDS‑related engine failure. Kia corporate has not referenced documentation of any kind. They have not requested it, indicated they are awaiting it, or provided guidance regarding its submission. Instead, corporate has repeatedly stated that they “must defer to the dealership,” despite the dealership’s failure to perform or submit the required KSDS diagnostic materials.Read more

On February 16, 2023, the engine in our 2017 Kia Sorento SXL developed a sudden, loud knocking noise while driving. No dashboard warning lights illuminated at any time, including no oil pressure warning, check engine light, or other engine-related alerts. The vehicle remained fully operable and did not lose power or seize. I continued driving approximately 20 minutes home, including highway speed
... s up to ~75 mph. The following day, with the knocking noise worsening but still no warning indicators present, I drove approximately 25 minutes to an independent repair facility. The vehicle was then diagnosed with catastrophic engine failure attributed to oil starvation and was towed. Because the vehicle had fewer than 100,000 miles and was within the expected powertrain warranty period, we pursued a warranty review through Kia. Kia requested maintenance records, which we provided in full after gathering documentation from all service providers over a two-week period. Despite this, the warranty claim was denied, first citing gaps in initial records and later questioning oil type based on older receipts that did not explicitly state “synthetic oil.” At Kia’s recommendation, we authorized an oil pan inspection at our expense. Kia concluded that the oil filter appeared to be more than two years old, which conflicted with our documented maintenance history showing multiple oil changes during that period. Kia denied warranty coverage and quoted approximately $10,500 for engine replacement. We were advised that the replacement engine would be a remanufactured unit and that it was on backorder with no estimated delivery timeline. After approximately ten weeks without resolution, we located a compatible replacement engine at another Kia dealership and arranged transport of the vehicle there. The engine was replaced within three days for approximately $9,000. The repair included installation of a replacement engine, new spark plugs, and a passed state inspection.Read more

Vehicle is unsafe to drive due to the loss of ABS and traction control. The constant dinging of the warning is very distracting. Stellantis, Ram Trucks, and local dealers do not seem to care that this has been an ongoing issue for over a year and still do not have any parts for the recall.

Driving through intersection making a left turn and a driver blew the light at 45-50 (speed limit is 45 on road) t-boned the vehicle. Air bags did not go off even hitting the zone on the car front passenger door. I have pictures and police report if needed. I contacted Kia and haven’t heard back. This was a rental car through Dollar Rental at Orlando Intl Airport. It was not drivable.

My windshield on the 2027 Telluride cracked with a small rock that almost sounded like a bug instead of a rock. My other cars have gotten hit with rocks that sound 10 time loader and the windshield does not crack. I think KIA is still putting windshield that are not safe on their new cars. I am certain that anything hits this windshield will cause it to crack again. I am hoping that it was just a

When I am stopped at a red light, the auto shutoff is activated, and when I lift off the brake and try to accelerate forward at the green light, the vehicle stalls for about 15 seconds, leaving the driver and passengers vulnerable to a car accident. One of the passenger seatbelts triggers the "no seatbelt" alarm, even when the passenger is buckled. If no one is seated there, there is no alarm. T
... his only happens when someone is seated there. In order to bypass the alarm sound, the passenger has to unbuckle and re-buckle so that the car knows that the passenger is seated. Once the car shifts after a turn or curved road, the alarm will sound again. During an average 20 minute car ride, it'll probably do this 5-6 times, depending on how many turns or curves there are on the route.Read more

While driving approximately 53 mph on a main road, my 2017 Ford Focus suddenly displayed the message “Engine Fault Service Now.” The vehicle immediately entered limp mode, downshifted into 2nd gear, and would not accelerate above approximately 31 mph. During the event, the engine shook noticeably and made abnormal noises. No check engine light appeared during this initial incident. This probl
... em occurred multiple times over several days, most often when the fuel tank was below approximately half full. Each time, I was able to temporarily restore normal operation by shutting the vehicle off, waiting about one minute, and restarting it. After restarting, the vehicle would drive completely normally until the problem occurred again. A few days later, while sitting in my vehicle during a work break, I started the engine and it immediately entered limp mode without being driven. A check engine light then illuminated, and the engine stalled shortly afterward. The diagnostic trouble codes retrieved were: * P1674 (Stored, Pending, Permanent, and Enhanced) * U0100 (Enhanced ABS Code) A mechanic familiar with Ford vehicles suggested the symptoms could be related to the EVAP canister purge valve issue that has been investigated on similar Ford Focus models. He recommended keeping the fuel tank above half full as a test. Since keeping the fuel tank full, the limp mode condition has not reoccurred. I took the vehicle to a Ford dealership to have the purge valve issue evaluated. The dealership declined to perform any purge valve-related repairs because they believed the problem was transmission-related and stated the engine issue would need to be repaired first. I am submitting this report because the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while driving, creating a significant safety hazard when traveling at normal traffic speeds.Read more
