The engine is failing at 128,000 miles. The car is burning so much oil that it is impossible to drive more than 500 miles without the oil running dry. The problem has been inspected by the Hyundai dealership nearest me. The vehicle notified me of the oil issue by illuminating the oil light. The issue started after the turbo failed at 127,000 miles. * Purchase Date: January 23, 2016 * Current Mileage: Approximately 71,500 miles For the past several months, my vehicle has experienced continuous engine oil loss. The oil level drops approximately one gallon every two months, and the engine oil warning light has illuminated on multiple occasions. Because of this recurring problem, I brought my vehicle to Volkswagen Glendale on April 23, 2026. Aft
... er inspecting the vehicle at the Glendale dealership, I was informed that loose oil pan bolts were the cause of the oil loss. Based on this diagnosis, I took the vehicle to three different local auto repair shops for additional inspections. All three repair shops independently diagnosed the issue as being related to the engine and stated that if the engine is not replaced, the engine oil loss problem will not be resolved. I returned to Volkswagen Glendale on June 27, 2026. During this second visit, I was informed that the oil leak was coming from the oil pan area and that components including the oil pan, bolts, sealant, oil level sensor, and gaskets required repair. The technicians raised the vehicle and carefully inspected the entire underside. They reported that there was no visible engine oil leak and no evidence of oil escaping from the oil pan. I took the picture that there is no visible engine oil leak at the repair shop. I am deeply concerned that: * I am concerned about having to continuously add engine oil (1 gallon every two months) because the vehicle keeps losing oil. *I am concerned that the engine may seize due to low oil levels, which could cause the vehicle to break down while I am driving. Specifically, I request: Due to this engine problem and the ongoing engine oil loss issue, I respectfully request that the engine be replaced to resolve the problem and prevent potential safety risks. After reviewing the information above, could you please provide me with the claim number? I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you.Read more

The problem occurs intermittently, making it difficult for the dealer to reproduce. It appears to happen more frequently when the air conditioning is running, although it has also occurred under other conditions. This creates a significant safety hazard because the vehicle can become stranded in the middle of an intersection or at a traffic light, exposing occupants to the risk of being struck by other vehicles. I took the vehicle to a Honda dealer, but because the condition could not be reproduced during the visit, no repairs were made. The issue continues to occur. I am reporting this because the failure of the Auto Idle Stop system to restart the engine presents a serious safety concern and appears consistent with reports from other Honda owners.Read more

The media center does not shut off when my car shuts off, I brought it to Ken Garf Volkswagen dealership on June 25 when my car died. They did a diagnostic. [Symptom & Safety Hazard] While driving my 2020 GMC Acadia 3.6L V6, the Driver Information Center displayed the warning: "Steering Assist Reduced, Drive With Care" (SARDWC). The warning and reduction in steering assist presented a safety hazard and increased th
... e risk of a crash. [Diagnostic Findings] Vehicle diagnostics identified DTC P0128 - Engine Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature. A GMC Certified Dealer technician diagnosed a failed engine coolant thermostat housing assembly. [Manufacturer Information] GM documentation links DTC P0128 and invalid engine coolant temperature signals to the "SARDWC" condition. GM Bulletin 17-NA-158 states the “SARDWC” condition is caused by an invalid coolant temperature signal and the steering module relies on coolant temperature information for steering-assist compensation. GM bulletin PIT5967 directs technicians to diagnose and repair DTC P0128 when the warning message is present. In Oct 2025, GM issued N252508350 for 2021 Acadia vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LGX engine due to an engine coolant thermostat condition. My 2020 Acadia is part of the same generation vehicle platform and is equipped with the same 3.6L LGX engine. It experienced the same thermostat-related failure symptoms, including DTC P0128 and the "SARDWC” warning. [Reason for Complaint] I am filing this complaint because a thermostat-related cooling-system failure resulted in a steering-assist warning and reduction in steering assist while the vehicle was being driven. Moreover, GM issued N252508350 for 2021 Acadia vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LGX engine due to the same engine coolant thermostat condition, yet similarly affected 2020 Acadia vehicles are not included. NHTSA should investigate whether additional 2020 vehicles are experiencing the same failure sequence and resulting safety risk.Read more

COMPLAINT SUMMARY: [XXX] / ENGINE THERMAL FIRE RISK / WARRANTY DECEPTION My 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe (2.4L GDI Engine) is experiencing severe powertrain degradation under the known Theta II engine defect class-action framework. On November 7, 2025, the vehicle logged a Permanent Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1326 via an independent scan, indicating catastrophic internal rod bearing wear. On XXX,
... the vehicle was brought to Hyundai of Milledgeville for safety recall verification. Instead of executing the mandatory corporate-directed Bearing Clearance Test (BCT) to replace the failing engine block, the service department committed technical campaign malpractice. The technician forced the 9C2 ECU Software Update directly over the locked mechanical fault to suppress the dashboard warning lights and alter the vehicle's ROM ID parameter limits. When caught via a photograph of their active GDS diagnostic tablet showing 7 historical system faults, the service manager provided a truncated printed report hiding Page 1 and omitting the critical P1326 powertrain code count to evade a warranty engine replacement. Due to these unmitigated delays, the vehicle has suffered severe consequential safety damage. The advanced engine degradation and oil consumption have flooded the exhaust system, melting the catalytic converter substrate and triggering a new DTC P042000 (Catalyst Efficiency) fault immediately after the dealer visit. The extreme engine vibrations have also damaged the transmission's torque converter clutch (DTC P074100). The dealership refused a service loaner and knowingly sent a disabled consumer and an elderly passenger away in an active, failing vehicle that presents a sudden stall-on-highway hazard and a severe thermal exhaust fire risk under extreme summer heat conditions. Hyundai Motor America Corporate has failed to provide emergency towing or alternative mobility accommodations despite a registered corporate case file. I was slowing down, actively pressing the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a full stop. As the car decelerated to what my senses and perception registered as a full stop, I pressed the “P” (Park) button while keeping my foot on the brake pedal. I felt the physical click of the “P” button under my thumb while still holding the brake, and my mind registered that the vehicle had successfu
... lly transitioned into Park. Before turning around, I visually confirmed that the vehicle had come to a complete stop. Believing it was fully secured in Park, I turned my head to check on my child in the back seat and naturally released the brake pedal completely. However, the system had actually rejected my command. I assume that the vehicle likely still had a small amount of speed at the exact millisecond I pressed the button, and the computer automatically blocked the “Park” command and kept the car in gear. Because an electric vehicle operates in almost complete silence, with no engine noise or vibration to indicate that it is still in gear, there was no auditory or physical cue to alert me that the car was moving when I released the brake. While my attention was turned toward the back seat for a few seconds, the car quietly began to creep forward, leading directly to the collision with the car in front of me. Following the accident, I found that the vehicle produces slightly different sounds when Park is rejected and when it is successfully engaged. However, the owner’s manual describes only the dashboard message and does not describe these sounds or explain how to distinguish them, so their meanings may be learned only through the failure. At the time of the incident, I was not familiar with the distinction between these two sounds. Because my brain processed the physical press of the button as a successful action, and I had visually confirmed that we were not moving, my focus immediately shifted to my child. I was entirely misled by the digital interface.Read more

This is a follow up submission to NHTSA case #XXX. Organization Under Complaint: Hutchinson Kia, [XXX] Complaint Summary: The dealership is utilizing unfair and deceptive financial gating practices to avoid its legal obligations under a federal safety recall. The dealership refuses to look at or evaluate a vehicle subject to an urgent fire-risk HECU safety recall unless the consumer first authoriz
... es a $189.00 diagnostic fee. The dealership refuses to give a firm, legally binding commitment that this fee will be waived for a confirmed recall component. Instead, they require the consumer to assume all financial risk upfront, stating the fee will only "likely" be waived based on their own internal, unverified findings. This creates a high-pressure trap where the consumer is forced to sign away financial rights to access a free, federally mandated safety remedy. The dealership is weaponizing a acute shortage of independent import and specialized repair facilities in the Macon, GA market. They are aware consumers have almost no local alternative venues to get an independent, affordable cross-check scan, and are using this regional monopoly to coerce consumers into signing open-ended diagnostic authorizations. about 2 years old, I was with my family driving on the freeway when I felt the car veering to the right going off the road. I tried to correct the steering by pulling it to the left. I was not able to correct this steering as it seemed that the steering wheel was lock. I tried stopping the car from going off the road but the brake pedal was very hard to push. It seemed like the car had lose all po
... wer. The car went down the hill off the freeway and hit a huge road sign. I was doing 55 to 60 miles per hour and very mush alert. The car finally came to a stop in the middle of the frontage road. We started to push the car and it was hard to push so I attempted to start the car and to my surprise, it started. So I drove it to a safe place and called the police to make a report and the towing service. The damage on the front end of the was over $3,000. This was the first incident. The second incident happen July 2, 2026.My wife and I were traveling on a road with two lanes. It was about 4:30 PM and traffic medium. Suddenly I felt the steering wheel pulling hard to the left going to the left lane. I immediately turned the steering wheel to the right. I felt the steering wheel was very hard to turn the steering to the right. I pulled off the road to check of any problems. The car never shut off and I was able to drive home. I have driven the car several time since the last incident but I on always wary of the same happening again. I did contact the Chrysler dealer the first this happen and They stated that there had been no one reporting of any similar incident.Read more

The car is suffering random shutdown and intermittent times. The battery is no longer holding a charge and when it shuts down this places me at extreme risk. Ford is unable to fix it so this is no longer happening without replacing the High Voltage battery - battery from ford alone is 11k. I cannot be the only one who is dealing with this car doing this.

The control panel /radio panel has had a glitch or blacked out screen where it wouldn't come back on for a few hours and I could smell electrical or plastic burning after it did come back on after that the radio started changing channel on its own while screen glitched on and of with saturated static wrench on my dash comes on periodically. The tires pressure unit never has the same amount of air
... in it according to the gauge. Even though I have made it so that they were all equal several different times. The car feels like it misfires when that it's 9500° outside and you go for any sort of extended drive past 10-15, mi. When the air conditioner is on high, the fuel economy doesn't seem to match the way it's supposed to and some of the programming is missing since the last time it was serviced out of the control panel. Some options that we're supposed to have been there aren't there anymore and I'm pretty sure that when I use the remote to roll down my windows they're all supposed to roll down. Well only one of them does and it doesn't roll it back up the way it's supposed to when that it is foggy out. My camera system says that I'm about to get into a crash and starts blinking at me and beeping and flashing saying that I'm about to crash because my forward safety system or my rear safety system is not working properly. And yes I've let them know about these things My car has less than 25,000 mi on it and the problem started probably 3 months after I got it. When I first got it there was a bunch of little pits in the glass or I want to say hairline bubbles. I don't know what else to call them but they replaced my windshield. They didn't replace the back window that still has themRead more

The MMI infotainment head unit reboots spontaneously and repeatedly while the vehicle is in operation. The screen freezes, goes black, and restarts, reliably within 7-8 minutes of completing the previous boot. This repeats continuously for the duration of any drive. I have verified this is not related to a connected phone. I tested with three different phones on three different operating systems,
... and with no phone connected and powered off entirely. The reboot cycle occurs identically in all cases, whenever the vehicle is running. The critical safety failure: if the vehicle is placed in reverse near the time of a reboot, the crash disables all Parking Assist functions. The rear backup camera becomes fully inoperable while the vehicle is actively backing up, and the side cameras are sometimes lost as well. The Parking Assist system, including the backup camera, remains offline until the vehicle is shut off and left sitting for 15 to 30 minutes. There is no warning before this occurs. This means the federally mandated rear visibility system can and does fail without warning during the exact maneuver it exists to make safe. I have video documenting the backup camera being disabled while reversing. The vehicle has been to the dealer for these concerns. A software update was performed per Audi TSB on 3/27/2026 (RO 356075) and did not resolve the issue. The vehicle was diagnosed again 7/1/2026 through 7/9/2026 (RO 361320) and the dealer was unable to duplicate the concerns at that time. The reboot behavior has since become continuous and reproducible.Read more

I am writing to log an immediate emergency update to my vehicle safety report regarding my 2012 Hyundai Equus Signature 5.0L. On Friday afternoon, July 10, 2026, Hyundai Motor America’s corporate office formally initiated a high-level Tier-2 supervisor review to investigate the severe powertrain safety hazard currently present on my vehicle—specifically, a catastrophic internal rupture of the
... transmission fluid cooler loop that has cross-contaminated and flooded my engine block infrastructure and main radiator with high-velocity metallic shrapnel. However, today, Saturday, July 11, 2026, the servicing franchise dealership, Patrick Hyundai, issued an immediate verbal denial of all goodwill repair or safety inspection coverage. This premature weekend denial represents a blatant, bad-faith attempt by a localized franchise to circumvent an active manufacturer safety audit. By issuing a verbal denial while corporate offices are closed, the dealership is attempting to apply high pressure to force me to immediately tow this severely compromised, non-driveable vehicle off their property. This action is designed solely to force the removal and destruction of critical, un-tampered physical fluid evidence before a qualified Federal Safety Engineer or a Hyundai Field Product Engineer can mandate a teardown or structural inspection. The manufacturer's franchise is actively evading its product liability and safety screening protocols for an integrated, multi-system thermal failure. I am requesting that federal safety auditors expedite an intervention, freeze any attempt to eject the vehicle from the facility, and order a formal manufacturer field safety audit. This was the first long trip for the new Nautilus. I was using cruise control, along with adaptive cruise control, and hands free driving. A prompt came up to resume control. The engine began stuttering and the flashers came on. The car then bega

The car was rapidly decreasing speed and the highway was busy with holiday traffic, campers, etc. going to Mt. Hood. Yes, this car is available for inspection upon request. This was a dangerous situation on a busy highway when the vehicle suddenly began decreasing speed requiring me to take immediate action while traveling at 65 mph. No, the problem has not been reproduced. No, the dealer has not looked at it despite repeated phone calls. I do not have another car and cannot afford a rental. They have had me on a LONG wait list for a loaner. No, there were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.Read more
