Transmission faulty, loud, clunky and hard shifting! Service transmission now alert and code P0747
Incident date: Jul 20, 2026
In March 2026, our 2017 Chevrolet Volt (89,300 miles) would not charge nor start, and had to be towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership in Portland, Oregon. The dealership diagnosed an internal fault in the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) producing U26XX diagnostic trouble codes, per GM bulletin #18-NA-261, and replaced the BECM under GM Special Coverage N232432680 — GM's field remedy f
... or a known BECM defect affecting 2016–2019 Volts that causes reduced power, no-start, or no-charge conditions (the subject of NHTSA investigation PE23022).The remedy failed immediately. On the day the vehicle was returned to us (March 26, 2026), the check engine light illuminated while driving home on public roads, and the vehicle failed to charge that same night — the identical condition it had before. It was towed back to the dealership. The dealership's second work order confirms in writing that the vehicle "will not start after previous repairs and is having the same issues," and attributes the failure to the high-voltage battery contactor. The dealership informed us the part is no longer produced and cannot be obtained, advising that the vehicle be scrapped. Safety concerns: (1) after the repair, the dealership returned the vehicle to us as fixed, and we drove it approximately 26 miles home on public highways in traffic, unaware the defect was still present — the check engine light illuminated during that drive. This defect is the subject of NHTSA investigation PE23022 into sudden loss of propulsion, we unknowingly operated a defective vehicle in conditions where that failure could have occurred at highway speed; (2) GM's official field remedy for this known defect (Special Coverage N232432680) failed within hours of being performed; and (3) the parts required to complete the remedy are reportedly discontinued, leaving a known safety defect permanently unrepairable. Supporting documents uploaded: dealer repair orders, and the GM warranty history of the N232432680 repairRead more

This complaint is against HENDRICK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM IN HOOVER ALABAMA misaligned solid-axle geometry and compromised tire casings triggered a violent, uncontrollable oscillation through the steering system, rendering the truck an immediate highway safety hazard. The vehicle was so dangerous to operate that it could not be driven home and remains stranded at a secondary residential location.
... IV. EXPEDITION OF COMPLAINT: DEALERSHIP BAD-FAITH REFUSAL Following the failure, a corporate case file was officially opened with Ram Corporate Customer Care. Upon notification of the corporate escalation, the owner/general management of Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Hoover, AL placed a direct phone call to the consumer. During this conversation, the dealership owner explicitly and aggressively stated that the dealership would do anything they had to do to get out of fixing the mistakes made on the drag link, directly refusing to authorize a safe flatbed tow, refusing to replace the ruined, improperly welded linkage, and refusing to assume liability for the three structurally destroyed tires. REQUESTED REMEDIAL ACTIONS The complainant requests that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Trade Commission, and the Alabama Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division launch an immediate investigation into Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for faulty execution of federal safety mandates, reckless endangerment of motorists, and bad-faith commercial practices. The dealership must be held legally and financially accountable for: The immediate cost of a flatbed tow from the vehicle's stranded location to a certified repair facility. The complete removal of the ruined, welded steering components and the installation of Ram’s updated, factory-authorized non-welded, clamp-style drag link assembly. The complete financial reimbursement or replacement of three (3) structural tires destroyed as a direct consequence of the failed recall execution.Read more

I am reporting a severe safety hazard on my 2025 Toyota Tacoma caused by incorrect alignment specs and an uncorrected extreme toe setting. On a recent service visit, alignment inspection showed a Total Toe of +1.62 degrees (OEM target is approximately +0.10 degrees). The alignment machine database loaded incorrect tolerance specs (+1.37 to +1.87 degrees displayed as acceptable green range), lead
... ing technicians to leave the extreme toe-in completely unadjusted. In less than 2,000 miles of normal driving since a prior inspection, both front tires suffered extreme, rapid toe wear down to the internal cord layer. Operating a vehicle with +1.62 degrees total toe causes severe lateral tire drag and creates an imminent threat of a catastrophic tire blowout at highway speeds, presenting a significant vehicle safety defect.Read more

On 7/7/2026, while driving on a local road at under 600 miles from purchase (590 on odometer), the dashboard displayed a warning that something was critically wrong and instructed the driver to pull over immediately. Once pulled over, the vehicle lost the ability to shift and became fully inoperable. Multiple alerts triggered simultaneously: Drive-Start Control System, AWD System, Check Engine, In
... tegrated System Warning (TSS malfunction), and Hybrid System. The vehicle would not power on for 15-20 minutes, after which it powered on with some functionality restored (possibly an internal reboot), though alerts remained present. It came to rest partially obstructing a live traffic lane with no ability to move further off the road, creating a collision risk. Vehicle was flatbed towed to the dealership. Dealership held the vehicle one week (7/7-7/14). Technician confirmed alerts were genuine but could not reproduce the fault after ~38 miles of test driving. Only historical communication codes detected; no active diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present. Vehicle was returned with no repair and no identified cause. Unsure if dealer service center contacted Toyota engineering for help. This is the second distinct electrical/software anomaly in ~5 weeks. On 6/18/2026, the traction battery dropped to 0% overnight despite being securely plugged in at 63%; the rear liftgate was also found open unexpectedly. This resolved on its own; vehicle was not serviced. Vehicle is available for inspection.Read more

My 2024 Honda CRV Sport Touring Hybrid AWD has the very same engine and parts as the Canadian model. On XXX I leased this 2026 Silverado and I have discovered that this truck tramlines, basically rocks side to side on roads with longitudinal grooves in the concrete, meaning lines that go the same way you're driving, the truck will violently swag side to side. I have been pushed into oncoming traffic from this. On 7/17.26 I took my truck to Fox Chevrolet of [XXX] to get service about this issue. I
... took the general manager of theirs, Marc and he confirmed the issue. He said he would send the DOT number to GM and wait for their reply. He called me on 7/20 saying that GM informed him that this has been reported by others and there's nothing GM is willing to do and to just deal with it. I told him that I find that unacceptable and it needs to be looked at my someone higher up. He passed this to his service manager since he's going on vacation for the next week, Ron. Ron called me and said that he talked to the local dealer rep and that he claims there's a law that says GM can't change tires that didn't come on the truck and that this is a known issue with these tires and again to just deal with it. This is completely unacceptable and flat out dangerous! I had a 2024 Silverado before this truck and it never did it. It had different tires than this truck and that's my argument is the tires are the problem. The manufacturer, Michelin even said that the solution is to get different tires and it's known on these ones. *The black water tank of our 2024 Forest River NoBo 20.4 was found to be leaking. The carbon fiber heating element inside the pad was found to be bent, concentrating heat to an extreme degree. The element experienced a high-resistan
... ce thermal event, melting completely through the protective heating pad and burning a hole directly through the structural plastic of the black water tank it was applied to. * This created a severe fire hazard for two individuals who had been using the travel trailer at the time of the finding. *This issue is consistent with current NHTSA recalls on this component. RV manufacturers like Grand Design and WInnegago have already issued urgent Federal safety recalls and "Do Not Drive" advisories on vehicles equipped with ThermaHeat pads due to high resistance and severe terminal overheating. *There were no warning lamps or advisories from control panels to indicate the issue and potential danger.Read more

I am reporting multiple factory defects on my 2024 Honda CR-V, led by a severe, confirmed steering safety defect commonly known as 'sticky steering' where the steering wheel sticks/notches while driving and requires excessive force to correct, causing dangerous lane swerving. The authorized Honda dealership confirmed the steering gearbox has failed and requires replacement but the necessary parts
... are backordered indefinitely, forcing me to leave the unsafe vehicle at the dealership. Furthermore, the vehicle suffers from two additional major unresolved warranty issues recorded under the same Repair Order: a defective door weather stripping seal that has peeled off and detached from the door frame, compromising cabin weather sealing, and a strong, musty mold odor emitted from the AC system on low fan speeds that poses an air quality and health concern for occupants. Due to this unaddressed steering safety hazard, additional factory defects, and backordered parts, the vehicle remains out of service at the dealership (visited on 11 July, noticed that it's unsafe driving and returned the vehicle to service on 16 Jul) and no replacement car has been provided.Read more

I am reporting multiple recurring safety concerns with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade. This has occurred repeatedly and appears more likely after the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. During one incident on the highway, I needed to accelerate quickly to avo

An authorized Hyundai dealership inspected the vehicle and reset the transmission adaptive values, but the condition remains. Lane Keeping Assistance: The Lane Keeping Assistance system consistently positions the vehicle toward the left side of the lane instead of properly centering it. The issue has been reported to the dealer, but the condition remains unresolved. Power second-row seat: The power second-row captain’s chair can continue moving while folding, creating a hand-crush hazard if a person’s hand is in the path of the seat. It also interferes with proper third-row seat operation. This issue has been reported to the dealer and remains unresolved. These issues have been reported to Hyundai and remain unresolved after dealer inspections. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I have documentation and video evidence of the acceleration concern.Read more

I have reported safety issues on this vehicle before, but a new one has arisen which is related to the same. It is the computer shorting out. The vehicle suddenly lost motive power due to an engine/throttle control failure consistent with defects described in NHTSA Campaigns 26V081 and R25A8/R25A9/R25B1. This created a safety risk because the vehicle was stranded in extreme heat for several hours with no access to water or shelter. I became o

A dealer confirmed the vehicle entered limp mode but did not complete the recall repair. The vehicle has now been at the dealership for four days without inspection, and I was told it should not have been towed there, so they will not prioritize it. The manufacturer cannot see the open recall because the dealer incorrectly marked it completed. Because the vehicle could not be driven and the defect has not been repaired, I was unable to travel to work and was terminated as a result. Component: Engine (2.0L EcoBoost) — coolant intrusion into cylinders What failed: The engine in my 2019 Lincoln MKC (2.0L EcoBoost, approximately 83,000 miles) failed due to internal coolant intrusion into the cylinders. This is a known defect in this engine, documented by the manufacturer in TSB 22-2229 (superseding TSB 19-2346), which acknowledges coolant leaking into the cylinders on 2.0L Ec
... oBoost vehicles and specifies complete long block engine replacement as the only repair. My vehicle and the failed engine are available for inspection upon request. The car/engine is currently at the [XXX] Ford in Draper, UT. Safety risk: Coolant intrusion causes engine misfires and can cause sudden loss of engine power while driving, hydro-locking of the engine, and — per the manufacturer's own bulletins and pending litigation — overheating, cracked cylinder heads, and engine fires. The check engine light began flashing while I was on the highway. I am also a dialysis patient awaiting a kidney transplant, and a sudden engine failure or stall while driving to medical treatment poses a serious safety risk. Confirmed by a service center: Yes. On or about XXX, [XXX], a franchised Lincoln dealership, performed a borescope inspection of the engine and confirmed the failure, stating the engine must be replaced at a quoted cost of $7,897.45. I have the written diagnosis and repair estimate. Inspected by the manufacturer or others: No police or insurance inspection was involved, as this was a mechanical failure rather than a collision. Warning signs before failure: Unexplained low coolant level requiring repeated top-offs; white smoke from the exhaust, especially at cold start; check engine light, steady or flashing; rough running or misfire, often with codes P0300–P0304 or P0316; sweet coolant smell.
