My current 2021 Honda Pilot (purchased used May 2024) is stalling out in live traffic - the most recent on XXX creating a massive safety hazard. (In addition, the engine is making the same exact clicking noise that the 2015 Honda VIN:[XXX] made right before the engine catastrophically seized on my way to work. That 2015 Honda Pilot seized due to a defective Variable Cynlinder Management (VCM) sys
... tem. This defect was covered by a court-ordered federal class-action settlement warranty extension (Alex [XXX] v. American Honda, Case No. XXX), extending coverage to 10 years/150,000 miles. While that vehicle was fully within this window - Honda of [XXX] wrongfully denied this legal warranty.) The CURRENT 2021 Honda Pilot (Purchased Used) VIN: [XXX] suffers from intermittent engine stalling in live traffic. The dealership has failed to resolve this issue across three separate visits, while exploiting the emergencies. The timeline of failed repairs includes: 2/14/25: The vehicle stalled in live traffic. The dealership charged me $420.48 for diagnostics and a failed repair. 8/13/25: The dashboard lit up and the vehicle suffered engine failure leaving my family stranded for 9 hours waiting for Honda Assist. It was brought to the Honda of New Rochelle service center where they exploited this emergency to charge me an exorbitant $1,300.00 out of pocket for unrelated work financed via Sunbit loan. 9/24/2025: The vehicle stalled in live traffic for a third time. The dealership charged me an additional $572.00 for another failed repair. They reguse to give me the RO's and the car has 29 active codes including U3006-16 (ECU Power Source Failure), proving a severe electrical or fuel delivery hazard remains completely unresolved. I purchased this Mazda new in October 2025. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has unexpectedly applied the brakes on three separate occasions while I was driving under normal conditions. There was no reason for the vehicle to brake, and each incident created a dangerous situation because the vehicle slowed suddenly without my input. I brought the vehicle to my local Mazda dealership for inspection
... . The dealership was unable to identify a defect or repair the issue. I was told that the automatic emergency braking system may sometimes react to reflections and that this behavior is considered normal. However, I do not believe it is normal or safe for a vehicle to apply the brakes unexpectedly during normal driving. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle, especially with my husband and young child as passengers. I am concerned that if the vehicle brakes unexpectedly again, it could cause a rear-end collision or another serious accident. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this may be a safety-related defect involving the automatic emergency braking/forward collision avoidance system. I am requesting that this issue be documented and investigated.Read more

The contact owns a 2025 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving uphill at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated, jerked, and stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a computer reprogramming was performed; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 65 MPH and merging into the left lane, the automatic emergency braking system erron
... eously engaged and the vehicle hard-braked, nearly causing a rear-end crash. The contact immediately depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle accelerated as intended. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and had occurred approximately six times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined; however, the dealer advised the contact that the failure might be related to the camera system. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.Read more

I was traveling on the DC beltway (interstate), it was raining and the temp was in the low 50s. The vehicle in front of me hit their brakes pretty hard. I started braking firmly myself. I heard an alarm sound and I believe the anti-lock braking activated, and the van began automatically braking itself. I was brought to a complete stop on the interstate by the van. The vehicle ahead of me accelerat
... ed again and I stepped on the gas to get going again and it wouldn't move. At all. I kept pressing on the gas to get going and the van wouldn't move. Meanwhile traffic behind me is gaining on me and I was rear-ended. After being hit I tried to move it out of the travel lane and it still wouldn't move. After all that I looked at the dash and it said to move forward, release the electronic parking brake (or something to that effect). I pushed the button to turn it off, and was able to get onto the shoulder. I believe the root cause of the crash was that the van automatically turned on the parking brake on it's own, and I did not want it on. If it hadn't, I could've accelerated away and not gotten rear-ended.Read more

On July 14, 2026, I experienced a serious fuel system failure with my 2023 GMC Denali. That morning, I filled the vehicle with a little over 20 gallons of fuel at a gas station approximately two miles from my home. Later in the day, I made a short trip to my neighborhood swimming pool, roughly 1.5 miles round trip, with no unusual noises or warnings from the vehicle. Approximately two hours after
... returning home, I entered the vehicle to run an errand. When I shifted into reverse and began backing out of my carport, I immediately heard a scraping noise on the concrete. I stopped the vehicle and inspected underneath. At that point, I discovered that the entire fuel tank had fallen out of the vehicle and was resting on the ground. I contacted roadside assistance, and the vehicle was towed to the dealership. The dealership informed me that the fuel tank support straps were missing, which allowed the tank to detach and fall. I personally searched along all the routes I had driven earlier that day and did not locate any straps or debris. The tank itself showed no impact damage, suggesting it dropped cleanly rather than being torn loose by road contact. Although the vehicle is relatively new, my bumper to bumper warranty expired in September 2025, and I was charged for the repair. I have included photos taken before and during the tow, as well as the dealership’s invoice. I am extremely concerned about the safety implications of this failure. If the tank had fallen while I was driving at interstate speeds (approximately 70 mph), it could have caused a catastrophic fire hazard, loss of vehicle control, or danger to other motorists. I do not know how long the vehicle had been operating without fuel tank straps, nor why there were no warnings or indications of a structural issue. I also question why the dealership did not treat this as a manufacturing or assembly defect, given that fuel tank straps should not detach under normal use. ...RAN OUT OF CHARACTERS...Read more

My car broke down on me in the middle of a highway on my way to work yesterday with no warning it just died and I had to roll in between the island of the road, but I was blocking off traffic and my side of the car was still in the way of people coming up behind me. It wouldn’t start over. It was extremely hot outside and trucks tractor trailers and cars were flying up behind me, the speed limit
... on that road is 50 but people go between 65 70 miles an hour on that road so it was extremely scary and I was shaken up and was trying to think of how to fix the situation cause I had to call Work and tell them that I was down the road, broken down and two firetrucks stopped because they saw me and thankfully pushed me out of the way, and then my boss came for me to sit in the air conditioner while I figured out getting a tow I had it towed to the dealership I bought it from. ironically that morning I had a diagnostic email sent to me and everything was perfectly fine on it. onstar all of a sudden when the car shut down on me, it gave me a code of p129f. I also received an email at that time from OnStar that my fuel system was down. I called the dealership and told them that the car was coming to them. They ended up calling me back and telling me that it was the fuel pump and that it’s known for breaking down because GM apparently knows that there was something wrong with the fuel pumps in these cars. When I bought the car brand new after driving it, I had mentioned to the car dealership that it felt like it was lagging, and when they looked at it, they said it was fine. There was nothing wrong with it. I feel like this was kept for me that this could’ve been an issue and that I should’ve been sent a letter from GM knowing that I have the year making model of these cars that tend to have these issues that my fuel pump should’ve been replaced or looked at because I was putting a very extremely dangerous situation yesterday .Read more

I own a 2020 Chevy Traverse with currently 16,000 miles. I am currently dealing with a know shudder issue that has returned. I have already taken the vehicle under warranty to the dealership where the transmission was replaced on 6/29/2022 at 4919 miles for “catastrophic failure” where the fluids were dark, burnt, and several burnt up clutches. Then the torque converter was replaced separately
... on 9/20/2022 at 8106 miles for engine shudder. Took the vehicle again in on 7/21/26 for shudder returning at 16,450k miles where diagnostic shows dark, burnt fluid, with metal debri. Repair recommendations are to flush again and if not fixed to again replace the torque converter. There are no open recalls on my vehicle when there should. There is the most recent bulletin, Bulletin No.: 23-NA-072 dated May 2023 that covers the 2020 Chevy Traverse for TCC Shudder: (Typically seen on 4th-5th Upshift as ISS Oscillation) which is referenced on my last car diagnostic report. This car is basically brand new and should never have needed a brand new transmission, torque converter replacement and still having shudder problems. These vehicles need to be recalled for their power train.Read more

... son. Not readable. All this happened immediately after the software update. I took my vehicle to the dealer the first opportunity I had time. The problem was verified by a service tech. He did a hard reboot of the system. The problem did not improve. I was asked to make an appointment. The vehicle has been back to the dealer many times since. The problem has not been resolved. The SAFETY PROBLEM is that I am not able to use my phone hands free. PA passed a law that touching a phone is a moving violation. The dealer said it was my phone. I have a Kyocera ruggedized phone. I replaced it with a newer version of the phone. Cost was over $800. FYI - I have used my phone on my wife's Bronco which has NEVER had a software update as the auto updates was turned off. I also own a Ford F-350 with Sync3 and the phone works fine. I was driving a Mack dump truck with hands free. No problem. I have checked it on 2 friends Honda cars. No problem. Apparently my phone works with everything but my Ford Bronco. Sometime during the last few months there was a safety recall for the same entertainment system that the phone uses going black. I never had this problem. Ford engineering still says the problem is my phone. I am not replacing my phone again to find that I still can't be understood. I have done some online research on this and found posts on multiple bulletin boards there seems to be the same problem with other owners of Ford Broncos and F-150s with Sync4. Not being able to use the hands free is a serious safety problem.Read more

... pay labor for a safety recall that is stated above. I am reporting them because it is a safety recall and we should not have to pay for extra cost such as a 2x4. Please see below. It is my understanding that the Dealer is in the wrong here. •Absolute Free Labor: Dealerships enter franchise contracts with the manufacturer requiring them to execute recall repairs for free. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is legally obligated to provide the instructions and billable labor hours to the dealership. •The "2x4" Tool Excuse: If a manufacturer's official technical service bulletin specifies a specific physical manipulation or tool—even a makeshift one like a 2x4—to complete the repair, that labor time is factored into the flat-rate time Chrysler pays the dealer. The dealer cannot pass "difficult labor" or tool costs onto you. •No Deductibles or Add-ons: A dealer cannot apply any separate fees or surcharges to offset their operational challenges while resolving a safety defect.Read more

The column-mounted transmission shift linkage on this 1992 Ford Econoline E-150 failed to fully engage the Park position in the transmission. When the driver moved the column shifter to Park, the worn linkage rod did not transmit sufficient travel to engage the parking pawl inside the transmission. The vehicle remained in Neutral despite the shift indicator showing Park. The component may be avail
... able for inspection upon request. With no parking pawl engaged, the unoccupied vehicle rolled freely and ran over a bystander who was assisting with the stalled vehicle. She sustained catastrophic injuries including full-thickness degloving of both kneecaps, degloving of the dorsal hand, and a massive hip hematoma requiring trauma-level hospital care. The vehicle also struck a second person nearby, who was later hospitalized with injuries consistent with being run over by the vehicle. The incident was investigated by law enforcement. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or Ford specifically for the linkage condition. The driver reported the vehicle had been experiencing ongoing ignition switch problems causing intermittent no-start conditions prior to this incident. No warning lamp specific to the shift linkage was present — the shift indicator showed Park normally, giving no visible indication of the linkage failure.Read more

While driving, my 2020 Chevrolet Equinox suddenly lost power and shut off without warning while I was pulling into traffic. The vehicle would buzz not crank afterward but would not restart. This created a safety hazard because the unexpected engine shutdown occurred while the vehicle was in motion. This is the second brake vacuum pump failure I have experienced with this vehicle. In 2022, the brak
... e vacuum pump failed and was found shattered internally. At that time, the engine continued running, and the pump was replaced. During this most recent incident, the brake vacuum pump failed again, and the internal end of the pump broke apart. I replaced the vacuum pump and removed the broken pieces I could access, but the vehicle remains in a crank/no-start condition. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealership or independent repair facility. However, after seeing the shattered pump components, a couple of mechanics I know expressed concern that the broken pieces may have affected the engine timing. That has not been confirmed. The failed pump and replacement parts are available for inspection.Read more

I received a warning light indicating my car was reaching maximum internal temperature. I immediately shut off the car, then took it to the Honda service center the next morning. They did an inspection and determined there is a leak in my head gasket at cylinder 3. There were no warnings prior to the time of failure. I had recently had my coolant flushed as part of general maintenance and I never

First time it happened I was driving on the freeway from [XXX] to [XXX]. The car did an instant jerk stop ON THE FREEWAY!! I thought my granddaughter touched something but then it did it again when I was driving by myself. So I took the car in for the recall that came out for this issue and the day after that as I parked into an In-N-Out parking space my collision light came on warning me that th
... ere was a collision ahead. I was in a parking space so in that moment, I kind of let it go. Has done it a few times in local traffic. Fast forward to yesterday XXX It was way more serious. I was doing a U-turn and my car jerked. Stop the car behind me almost hit me and I was stopped in oncoming traffic. It released and I got to move so I didn’t wreck, but it scared me. I was very shaken. This is now happened a few times and I have already done the recall at this point I feel very unsafe uncomfortable driving the car and feel like I need a refund full refund. I am now afraid to drive it. It’s gonna kill one of us. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I was coming home from work and when I tried to shift the gear from drive to park it was stuck on drive and Neutral I contacted the car dealer and they said ford has had this issue that it was a recall on it so I researched and found out that Ford issued major safety recalls (Recall 22S43 and 18S20) for 2017 Ford Fusions regarding a degraded transmission shifter cable bushing. This defect can cau
... se the shifter cable to detach. Consequently, the car may roll away unexpectedly because the transmission isn't actually in Park, even though the shifter says it is.Recall DetailsThe Problem: The underhood shift cable bushing can degrade and fail over time. The Remedy: Ford dealers will replace the transmission shifter cable bushing and add a protective cap over it free of charge (parts and labor). It my VIN# was not coming up as a recall and this is an ongoing issue for this car and I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible with ford recall please thank youRead more

2019 Jeep grand Cherokee, noticed to have leaking water pump, engine showed no signs of overheating. Water pump and thermostat changed due to a small fluctuating of temp gauge but never over the half way mark. Took it in for diagnostics, which, after reading many reviews of ongoing issues with head gaskets in jeeps, even after Jeep said they remedy it in 2016, I asked for diagnostics done on my ra
... diator and head gaskets to only see it was in fact leaking head gaskets. There was no signs other than a leaking water pump and small fluctuation when the water pump started to leak, but engine never read that it was overheating nor did oil temp. Seems to be an ongoing issue with the 3.6L engines that Jeep is still selling and a lot of people are paying for major engine repairs, at such lower mileages.Read more

Testing across three independent iterations utilizing a digital multimeter confirmed a continuous localized parasitic draw of 218.6 uA. This dramatically exceeds the manufacturer's maximum safety engineering threshold of 70.0 uA by over 312%. This quantified excessive amperage draw conclusively isolates an internal circuit board short-circuit condition caused by a failure of the internal HECU brake fluid seals. The vehicle presents an immediate network communication failure, brake malfunction, and thermal/fire risk. Manufacturer and dealer failed to remediate safety recall after seven weeks under the pretense that the dealer is not authorized to order more than 2 parts every 7 days. But I am not aware of a federal, state, nor county regulation establishing such restriction. The restriction thus seems to be self-imposed and therefore under the control of the manufacturer.
