I had the factory recall done at a local dealership. The ensured me the programming was completed to solve the down shifting of gears while driving. It’s been a couple years since the reprogramming and I still have problems with the truck downshifting at different speeds. It also indicates the wrench on the screen and makes all the gauges including the screen, stop working. During acceleration,
... if you are merging and need extra speed, the truck stops accelerating and slows down. The only way to reset the wrench on the screen is to stop the vehicle immediately and shut it off until the mileage indicator shows the mileage the vehicle has. Several posts online indicate the same issues for those who own the F150. Driving on the freeway at freeway speeds the truck shifted into first gear while traveling at 75 mph. The tires skidded and the truck jerked hard when it happened. It startled myself and my kids who were in the truck.Read more

I have an open recall that has not been fixed. I’ve been reaching out to my nearest ford dealership and all I get back is the part is”ordered” or still on “back order”. I’ve been waiting since December for this to be resolved and still nothing. I bought the truck in November and immediately had it looked at. 10r80 transmission slipped between 3rd and 4th gear shift. Truck is available for inspection. The few seconds loss of power is definitely a safety risk. It happened while pulling out onto a highway from a full stop. There are numerous reports of this issue with this transmission. Plan to have transmission inspected by a mechanic ASAP. No warnings of the issue prior to this happening.

Front Driver and Passenger side Wheel Bearing Failure 2 Separate incidents on same vehicle described below Hello, We have a 2018 F-150 Ford Limited and at approximately 50k/60k miles our front passenger Wheel Bearings went bad causing a loss of brakes and then proceeded to catch a fire within the brakes as a result. At approximately 80k miles we are now replacing the driver side Wheel Bearings as
... they are now currently at risk of failing. We have owned many vehicles and have not had to replace Wheel Bearings on any of them regardless of how we used them, the age of the vehicle and the type. We find that it is oddly unusual for this type of failure to occur let alone on both Wheel Bearings. The only indication of the second failure has been a grinding sound that can be easily mistaken for brakes or rotors needing attention. At the time of the first failure while the truck was in motion on the freeway exceeding 65mph, there was no indication of the failure other than loss of brakes and smell from the fire. The problem was seen by a licensed mechanic for the first failure who did confirm the Wheel Bearing failed. We have a scheduled appointment for 2/23/26 to confirm the same issue for the driver side. We did not maintain and keep the first component that failed however we will request to keep the failed parts upon replacement. This failure absolutely put my life at risk, my passengers lives at risk and those that were on the roadways during the time the failure occurred.Read more

Component/System: Low-pressure fuel pump/fuel delivery system related to Recall 25S75. Vehicle is a 2022 Ford Explorer Hybrid. Description: My vehicle is subject to Recall 25S75 involving the low-pressure fuel pump that can cause loss of fuel pressure and engine stalling. The vehicle has stalled six times between about 15,000 and 35,000 miles. The issue is intermittent but ongoing. The vehicle is
... available for inspection. What failed or malfunctioned: The fuel delivery system appears to lose pressure consistent with Recall 25S75, leading to engine stalling and temporary inability to restart. Safety risk: One stall occurred while driving on a highway on 9/30/23 at about 15,000 miles. The engine lost power without warning and I had to coast to a gas station. Sudden loss of propulsion in traffic creates a serious crash risk. Other stalls happened in driveways or parking lots after the vehicle had been running. In several cases the vehicle would not restart for 20–60 minutes, which could be dangerous if it occurred in traffic or an unsafe location. Reproduction or dealer confirmation: Two incidents required towing to Ford dealerships. The vehicle has been taken to Ford dealers multiple times. Earlier incidents were not linked to a recall at the time. Now that Recall 25S75 has been issued, the symptoms match. Ford has not repaired it because the remedy is still under development and parts are unavailable. Inspections: The vehicle has been inspected by Ford dealerships and towed twice by AAA for diagnosis. No permanent fix has been made because the recall remedy is not yet available. Warnings or symptoms: Stalls often occurred after the vehicle had been running. The vehicle then would not restart for 20–60 minutes. In one event there were dashboard errors. There was not always a clear warning before a stall. Reason for complaint: The recall has been open since July 2025 with no remedy available. The vehicle continues to stall. I do not feel it is safe to operate.Read more

I was driving in town, less than 35mph, slowing down to stop at a traffic signal, when my engine stopped and a message came up on my dashboard that said something to the effect of "auto stop start, place transmission in park and restart engine". I did so and it cranked and ran fine. Hasn't happened again.

I have now been without a car for 2-3 months and have forked over $6,000+ to get this car fixed. I was not told about any known transmission issues when I bought this car (verbally or written) from Truauto, nor was I contacted about any recall from Ford and I was denied a Remanufactured transmission at the dealership that I went to to get the car fixed. I am out of warranty but that still doesn’t explain a transmission failure in a close to brand new car regardless of miles. I have already paid the $5400 or so for the repair at the local shop and it has yet to be fixed due to lack of availability of parts.Read more

1. Vehicle Information • 2018 Ford Escape ECOSYSTEM 1.5 • 84,000 • VIN [XXX] . Problem Description : My 2018 Ford Escape has experienced coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders, a known issue affecting this model year. The vehicle began misfiring and consuming coolant without external leaks. This is an engine defect Ford has known about since 2010, yet they continued to put this engi

Common Issue: Many 2017–2019 1.5L engines suffer from coolant leaks into the cylinders, necessitating a replacement with a redesigned block. The dealership confirmed a Technical Service Bulletin applies to my VIN. This defect can cause engine failure while driving, creating a serious safety risk. My vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge SEL. I am experiencing ongoing transmission shuddering, jerking, and RPM fluctuations during normal driving. At slow speeds, the vehicle jerks and shudders, making it very difficult to drive smoothly in traffic and when accelerating from a stop. At higher speeds, the RPM gauge jumps while driving, and the vehicle feels like it is slipping or shifting unpredictably. T
... he condition has been getting worse over time. This problem matches the known defect described in Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 20-2081 related to transmission shudder. My vehicle’s year, make, and model match those affected by this known issue; however, my VIN is not included in any recall. The unpredictable jerking, shuddering, and RPM fluctuations create unsafe driving conditions, especially when merging into traffic, turning, or maintaining speed. I believe this is a widespread defect affecting the safe operation of the vehicle and should be investigated by NHTSA for a potential recall. I am submitting this complaint to request that this defect be reviewed for investigation and corrective action.Read more
